| | Gryffindor Game Lounge [ map ] While the Lions' Den may be the focal point of the Gryffindor common room, all the real action happens over here in the game lounge. Sofas and bean bag chairs are strung about the room in a haphazard, but comfortable, manner and off to the left is a large table with enough chairs for eight people to sit. A shelf on the wall above the table is stocked with all sorts of games and activities for curious Gryffindors to utilize. To help the lions take home the Gobstones Cup, there is a Gobstones set to practice with. Just be sure to clean up any of the smelly goo that comes spurting out from the gobs. You can also find a wizards' chess set and Snitch Snatchers on the shelf. If games are not your style, on the opposite side of the room is a grand piano waiting and ready to have its ivories tickled for a sing-along.
While Snitch Snatchers is one way to get your quidditch fix, the real quidditch treat can be found in the middle of the room in the form of a modified muggle foosball table that has been made to look like a quidditch pitch. There are no knobs to move the players around, instead all you need is your wand and to tap one of the figures on the team you wish to control while saying 'GRYFFINROAR' and away you go! As long as you are holding your wand, all you need to do is order the little figures around. Be wary of the tiny golden snitch that will start zooming around on its own accord. The figures will not return to being inanimate until it is caught!
In the back of the lounge you will find a medium sized tray topped with soil, and spray bottles containing brown liquid beside it. It may seem strange, but this is the resting place of the Gryffindor Tower Lion topiary. The Topiary Lion moves around on his own accord, and is responsive to a pat or two. Just remember to spray his roots with fertilizer and water them occasionally when he's on his pan... or else he might wither and die. On the wall behind the topiary is a display case holding dozens of Dandy Lion flowers that will purr, roar softly, and paw at the air with their leaves when you get close. Gryffindor Common Room design is based on the drawings by Whisperwings

| for anyone :3 Dalliesa | Ab-Bot | Hogwarts Trojan War | Needless to say, Genny had been utterly disappointed that Quidditch was not one of the extracurricular in Hogwarts anymore. Her parents promised she'd play in school but therrrrre they went with the antagonist threatening the castle residents of any sports and they were stuck with gobstones. Ugh. Luckily, she was sorted into the bestest house with the funnest head of house.
It had been her weekend routine to sleep in late, stuff her belly with Hogwarts deliciousness and then come back to the common room to play Quidditch Foosball. And so Genny tapped the figures with her wand, "Gryffindor!" And started playing with wide eyes and apparent enthusiasm. |

Floating up through the floor, Sir Nicholas looked about the room and smiled warming at the first year. " Good day to you, Geneva," he greeted as he glided a bit closer, only his torso visible at the moment. " Or would you prefer I call you Genny?"
Rising the remaining distance out of the floor, the house ghost watched the quidditch match unfold at the will of the Gryffindor. " Terribly pity this fine pastime has not yet returned to Hogwarts. Not that I was ever fortune enough to ever attend a match myself." And one could only see so much looking out from one of the windows of the castle.

Juuust as the match began and Genny internally wished she gathered some audience to witness how glorious she was at this game, somethingone better came over to watch. "Sir Nicholas, hi! Genny is fine, thanks." with the big grin trademark of first-year-excitement, she went one waving her wand about and so far owning the floor... or the space above the board.
"Yeah. It's really disappointing it's still off. I do like this game, though, and dad lets me play him at home." A strong swish of the wand sent one of her chasers flying through the hoop of the opposite team then tumbled down the field, which earned her a warning along with the goal. "Wooooo!" Warnings were for tough captains i.e. her. Back to Sir Nicholas' tragic subject, though. "Is a Quidditch Pitch the most you miss outside the castle?" If she was a ghost, she'd mostly miss visiting her treehouse (which had a small patch of grass underneath that qualified for her own quidditch pitch). |

" Then Genny is shall be," he confirmed with a wide grin and nod of the head. Just not too firm a nod so as to disturb the uprightness of his head. He was not wearing a particularly large ruff today. Although it was his perception of this particular Gryffindor that she could stomach the sight.
" I regret that I only witnessed a few matches properly in my day. I was a bit too preoccupied with things in the royal court to take any real notice in such a pastime," the ghost continued, laying the sadness in his tone on rather thick for dramatic effect. " But it was always a delight to hear Gryffindors return to the common room and recap matches, I suppose that is what I miss more than watching longingly from the windows of the castle." Her question caught the ghost a bit by surprise. " It has been a long while since I graced the grounds...I am not sure that the areas I once valued remain."
