Dungeon Corridor
|
Hope was wandering around and found what she figured would lead to the dungeons. It was not too great down here. It kinda smelled. But she was by herself. She needed a little peace and quiet. She slowly walked down the creepy corridor. She wondered if anyone had gotten detention yet... Probably not... |
Quote:
One could say Arista was up to something due to her attire but she just liked to wear all black when she visited the Dungeons, she was a weird one sometimes as many people knew from experience. She ran throughout the corridor when suddenly she was running smack into a familiar first year trying to stop herself she turned so she was going to face the wall, thankfully that helped stop her but she had also hit the wall in the process. Giggling she propped herself up on her elbow and said "Whoops.." Noting the girl's appearance she asked "Hey are you all right?" It was okay if she wasn't she had left home, got sorted, Gryffindor lost 100 points, and she was in the dungeons, the last reason alone was enough to scare even the bravest of people. |
Quote:
She must've looked like there was something wrong because Arista asked her... "Oh no nothings wrong. Just exploring. Being new and all. and its really loud in the common room and the dorm so I just thought I'd see what Hogwarts was like." She gave Arista a smile and then remembered she had almost plowed her down. "So I ask again, What are YOU doing?" |
Quote:
Attire? Quickly looking down she grinned before putting a hand over Hope's mouth, "Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! You'll give me away!" Quickly she scanned the room around them once being sure no one was there she removed her hand from the girl's mouth before saying, "Secret mission. Top secret." Looking at Hope's close she did have a point she would have to change. But they had no time the mission was happening now. Reaching into her black boot she pulled out her wand and pointed it at the girls clothes, she said "Multicorfors." After the red light dissipated Hope's plaid shirt was now black, the pants and shoes black as well. "Don't worry I'll reverse it once the mission is over." She giggled before looking around again. "Oh what a relief I wasn't sure you see when I get sad I like to play piano so I thought maybe you liked to get lost in dungeons." The redhead gave a laugh before adding "The common room gets a bit better once all the excitement wears off." What was she doing?? Nothing, nothing at all. "I was just walking around Hogwarts, its good to just get a breath of fresh air and I found myself walking down here. Luckily I was all ready wearing my dungeon clothes." Giving a gesture to her attire. |
Quote:
"Why are we whispering when there's no one around? And why are we wearing black? By the way, very nice!" Hope threw her hair up into a pony tail. She always saw the girls on the tele do it, so she figured it was what she was suppose to do. "Oh, no if I get bothered of something I start to cook. So if I start piling you up with all kinds of goodies, then something is wrong." She smiled and started walking down the corridor and turned towards Arista again. "Alright boss where to?" |
Quote:
Arista put on a fake shock face and said "ME DRAMATIC!! Never!!" She made sure to put her hand against her face and made a really dramatic pose towards the end. "Not so loud soldier! The enemy will hear us." "The walls have ears little one, the walls have ears." She wouldn't be surprised if they knew they were here already. Arista was tempted to giggle but didn't. Seeing Hope put her hair into a ponytail she yelled excitedly "GREAT IDEA!!" Clapping her hands she nodded, rubbing one hand onto the other wrist she pulled off a red ponytail and quickly put her long red hair into a dainty bun. She had been planning on a ponytail but she prefered buns over that so a bun it was. "I'm glad you didn't mind that I changed your class without asking first." "Well I was thinking this corridor could do with some nice Gryffindor red tones or maybe yellow or blue...Don't you think?" She turned to the girl with a smirk on her face. "I can teach you the spell!" |
Quote:
"that's fine. No biggie. I figured it was for a good reason." she smiled at Arista. "I'll return the favor when I learn some magic." she gave Arista a devilish grin. "Oooo what's the spell?? We are gonna light this corridor with the colors that are loud and proud!!" HOPE whispered excitedly. |
Quote:
"I'll hold you to it!!" She smirked excitedly before looking around the corridor again, rather be safe than sorry. Recalling the spell one of her Charms ' Professors taught them she smiled somewhat evily. "Okay its called Colovaria pronounced Co-lo-va-ria and the wand movement is easy. All you have to do is simply point at the target making sure to think of the color the whole time." She nodded and then whispered "This corridor is going to look way better once we are done with it." |
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Peeves floated silently along behind the two girls, his finger held to his lips in a gesture meant for maybe only himself. This was the quietest he had been in as long as he could remember, but he could hold it in no longer! Quiet was too boring! "It isn't just the Headmistress who has eyes and ears everywhere!" he suddenly shouted as he popped into view in front of the students. Peeves did too apparently and he cackled gleefully with this revelation. "Naughty, naughty students, up to no good in the dungeons!" he sang loudly as he bounced from one wall to the next. Hehehe, where there was trouble, there was Peeves! And these students looked like they were ready to cause some. "Did someone say LIGHT THE CORRIDOR???" Oooh, he had just the thing for that! |
Arista and peeves! Hope jumped about 4 feet in the air when peeves snuck up on them. She covered her mouth to stiffle a squeak/scream. Turning she gave peeves the evil look and then smiled. "You scared me! And we are on a mission. Be quiet!" hope quietly scolded as she turned back towards Arista. "OK, so colovaria?" she thought of the color red and aimed her wand towards the wall nearest to her. [B]"Colovaria!"[\B] she said with emphasis, but not too loud. The wall didn't change at all.. She shook it off, this time she said it a little louder and thought hard of the color red and gold. [B]"colovaria!"[\B]. The wall turned striped. Alternating red and gold. She did it!! And it looked pretty good! |
For Anna/Ariadne. :) Normally, Brooklyn only set foot in the corridor to get to and from Potions and the common room. That and whenever she headed to classes, which likely could have happened more often. She still hadn't really decided what she thought of the new professors after all. Aside from that none were Professor Bellaire. She still was annoyed at that loss, and even more since no one else seemed to share her feelings on that matter. Tywin did, though, and her cat was currently in her arms as she walked back to the common room from a trip outside. The grounds weren't going to be quite as nice with areas she was avoiding like the plague due to the hag, but she wasn't abandoning it entirely. There wasn't a lot of fresh air down in the dungeons after all. |
crimsonlion and Luna_Midnight Be quiet? HA. Peeves barely knew the meaning of the word. "There's no fun in being QUIET!" he cackled. Besides, didn't they want to LIGHT UP the corridor? He had something bright AND noisy. "Let's light up the whole corridor!" He grabbed a handful of firecracker snaps and threw them at the wall just past the two students, cackling delightfully as the *POP* *BANG* *SNAP* of the snaps LOUDLY lit up the walls for a few delightful moments. Wait, what was this? The ickle firstie was IGNORING him in favor of her silly little wand? OH NO SHE DI'INT! "HMMMM, I wonder what the Slytherin Head of House would think about THESE colours in the dungeon...." Hehehe, this would be fun. He knew she would flip her lid and he couldn't wait to watch. "OH, PROFESSOR! PROFESSOR! NAUGHTY STUDENTS IN THE DUNGEON, COME SEE WHAT THEY'VE DONE!" Peeves bounced off the walls down the corridor, alerting the masses. |
SPOILER!!: Peeves and Hope Arista nearly jumped out of her skin when she heard something shout from behind the two girls. "Peeves! Sneaking up on people isn't nice!" She gave a giggle before looking around wondering if anyone had heard the ghost. Looks like they were still in the clear good. "Who said we were up to no good?" No one. She certainly didn't. She looked over at Hope. Nope she was certain she hadn't either. "Yes you just said light the corridor." Oh wait Hope also said that when she had asked about the colors...Well then..She smiled looking at the wall that Hope just did. "Nice job, what do you think peeves? Good?" Arista pointed to the ceiling because why not and said "Colvaria" thinking of red really hard. And when she reopened her eyes it was now red. Cue epic smirk on the girl's face. Arista giggled, Peeves quiet? Ha. "I agree with Peeves being quiet is so boring. I'm having such a hard time being quiet right now." All she wanted to do was yell and be loud like she normally was. The Gryffindor was still staring up at the ceiling when something was thrown past her, pushing it off she looked at Hope ready to ask her a question when suddenly there was pops and bangs. "Peeves!" She looked at the ghost before breaking down into a fit of giggles. "Nice job you had me there." Woah what! Slytherin Head of House... HOW ABOUT NO? "Go ahead she doesn't scare me." Did she just say that? She was terrified of the woman, did you see the way she looked! Scary! She had heard stories too... "WAIT PEEVES DON'T!! I WAS JOKING!!!!" But it was to late he was bouncing down the corridor yelling. Looking down at Hope she said "Well that was fun..." |
Text Cut: SilverTiger Ariadne was heading back to the common room after an afternoon of exploring the castle. The weird thing was the only floor she really hadn't explored was the floor she lived on--the dungeon level. She still couldn't believe she lived in a dungeon. In some ways, it was cool, but in other ways, it seemed kind of strange, too. She just bet this floor held a ton of old, creepy secrets! She rounded the corner en route to the common room and almost bumped into one of the older Slytherin girls. "Sorry," she told her, edging out of the way just in time to avoid a collision. "I'm in too big of a hurry, I guess." Exploring was FUN, and she went everywhere in a hurry in anticipation of what she'd find next. "OHH, cool cat!" she said. Ariadne hadn't brought a pet to school. The Greingoths weren't big on pets except for delivery owls. Maybe someday, though. She looked up at the girl, knowing she was in Slytherin but having no idea what her name was. "I'm Ariadne," she said. "One of the new Slytherin firsties." |
Text Cut: Anna <3 Brooklyn had just continued on her way, relatively pleased that things were quiet down in the corridor for once. For it being as dark as it was, people seemed to wander down here much too often. It could get kind of annoying sometimes, not that she could control it. She could just ignore it, like she was doing at the exact moment that someone nearly collided with her. Someone who nearly got a glare, and maybe even a scathing remark, until she noticed it was another Slytherin. One of the little ones who had been Sorted at the feast, if she recalled correctly. “Too big a hurry where?,” she asked instead, still giving her a bit of an up-and-down look, adjusting her hold on Tywin as the Bengal tried to wriggle out of her arms. The compliment brought a faint smile to her face, however. “Thank you. Tywin appreciates compliments.” So did she, even if she had to make do with ones that were given to her pet. They were still compliments by association. He was her cat after all. “Brooklyn,” she replied, as an introduction finally happened. Plus, she got verification that her earlier guess that she’d seen the girl get Sorted. |

And there went Peeves.. UGH!! "PEEVES! NO come back!! do you want to help???" She figured if he was apart of all of it, it would calm him down. "You can light up the corridor! and be loud!!" She practically sang it. She turned and laughed. Looking at Arista she shook her head. "I thought you said we had to be quiet. That this was a mission?" she giggled at the older girl. Shaking her head. "Welp. the cats out of the bag now!" She looked up at the ceiling and admired Arista's work. "Nice job! it looks great! But lets get out of here before Peeves gets someone!" Hope turned, grabbing her friend's hand, and started to hurry down the hall. |
Text Cut: Kristin! Oh, MERLIN. This girl didn't look too happy at first that Ariadne had nearly collided into her. But she hadn't been able to help it! No amount of looking in front of her could have prepared her for rounding the corner and knowing someone was RIGHT THERE. Too big of a hurry? "Yeah, pretty much," she said. "I was off exploring the castle!" It had been exciting, too! Too exciting for an eleven-year-old to stand too still or walk too slowly while doing it. "I'm sorry, though. Really." Ariadne wondered how the girl knew her cat liked compliments. Maybe he just purred a lot. Or maybe he was a kneazle? She nodded either way. "You're welcome," she said. "Nice to meet you, Brooklyn!" Even if she HAD almost knocked right into her. "Are you a seventh year?" she asked. Ariadne was suddenly curious to see if this girl was here when her mom had been Head of House. She sometimes wondered if anybody knew her, but probably not. Most of the professors were new, and Healer Murdoch had been the Head of House for a while. |
Text Cut: Anna! In some ways, her whole look had been a test. Obviously Ariadne had some merit since she’d been sorted into Slytherin, but that didn’t make her meet her expectations. There was still a bit more consideration left, though, although Brooklyn had nodded slightly at the response to the question. “Have you seen the swamp?,” she asked, holding back the shudder the swamp’s mention brought to her simply because she was still holding Tywin. She was never going to forget when it had expanded, just as she still hadn’t set foot in the study area in the common room since the spider incident. “No harm done.” There was an obvious pause when she’d mentioned her cat liking compliments. It wasn’t something g she specifically had proof of. She just knew she liked compliments and since he was her cat, that meant he obviously liked them too. Just as she didn’t like insults. “And you too,” she continued, once the conversation had resumed. A nearly genuine smile reached her face at the assumption, or at least question, that she was a seventh year was made. “No, fifth. Why?,” she asked, wondering if it had been a true compliment or fishing for information. She likely knew as much about the school as any seventh year did, though. Her sister hadn’t had any problem telling her about things, professors. Most of the ones she’d heard about were nothing like the ones this term. |
Text Cut: SilverTiger Ariadne shook her head. "I haven't seen much of the school yet. I used to come here a little bit when I was younger, but I never went anywhere by the dungeon level," she explained. She'd been brought to the castle when nobody else had been home to watch her. She been in her mom's office and the Potions classroom, and that was it. "Since I've started school here, I've mainly just been to the classes. That's why I was roaming around. It got kind of boring after a while, though. Not the castle. Just exploring it by myself." Also, just looking at classroom and office doors and paintings hadn't been very adventurous. Ariadne had heard stories about this castle, and she just knew there were PLENTY of really exciting things out there! Just where they all were, she didn't know. Ohh, a fifth year? "I was just wondering if you had my mom as a professor. I think she retired before you were a first year, though. Have you always had Professor Culloden for Potions?" she asked. Ariadne wished her mom had stayed at the school long enough to teach her. Her dad said her mom was a BRILLIANT Potions Mistress, and Ariadne bet she was an amazing Head of House, too! Speaking of professors... "Why are there so many new professors anyway?" she asked. "Did something run 'em all off?" There HAD been that school year with all the Acromantula, she'd heard. |
Text Cut: La Banana :P In some ways, it was probably a good thing the younger girl hadn’t seen the swamp yet. Even though it was back to normal, Brooklyn would hardly recommend that as somewhere to visit. Kind of like how she wouldn’t recommend visiting the hag. It was a smell thing. “Did you?,” she replied, tilting her head slightly. She couldn’t decide if she felt sorry for her for being stuck down here or jealous that she had gotten to come before she turned eleven as was accepted as a student. “A couple terms ago there was a cartography club here, We mapped a lot of the castle,” she continued, just brushing off the confusion. That and the talk of boredom. There wasn’t any reason to go on about that, although she could admit that there were plenty of boring areas of the castle. Except for when things happened. “Yes,” she said, when she was asked if the only professor she’d had for Potions was Culloden. He’d been her only Potions professor so far, and he’d nearly worked his way up to a favorite. But then he’d left. That was still a sore spot for her. “Who was your mom? Maybe my sister had her. She was here for a few years before I came.” It was possible, anyway, unless Ariadne’s mother had taught ages ago. It hadn’t sounded like she had, and then they were back at the topic of new professors. The sore spot, the annoyance since it meant she had to deal with teaching even more professors how she worked. “Maybe. I don’t know but something’s made them leave.” Or maybe someone, but she kept that to herself. The idea that it had been a thing was easier to consider, even though she couldn’t blame the spiders on the professors who had left last term. |
Text Cut: Brooklyn! Ariadne nodded. "I did, but not too often. I was a really, really little kid, so I probably wouldn't have had any idea where to go all by myself anyway," she explained. "It was kind of cool getting to see the school way earlier than normal! I kind of remembered what it looked like, so I didn't have to wonder about it until I turned eleven." She'd heard stories from other kids about dreaming about coming to Hogwarts for YEARS, but she hadn't had to do that. She raised her eyebrows. "Nobody had mapped out the castle until a few years ago?" she asked. "Isn't this place ANCIENT?" As an afterthought, she added, "So did they find anything new and exciting?" Ahh, so Brooklyn hadn't had Ariadne's mom as a professor, which made sense anyway since Brooklyn was only a fifth year. "Her name's Hecate Lafay Greingoth, but she just went by Hecate Lafay when she taught here," she said. "My sister had her as a professor and a Head of House. I'm kind of jealous." Most people wouldn't have wanted their mom as a professor OR a Head of House, but Ariadne thought it would have been kind of cool. It would have cut back a LOT from her secretly missing her mom and dad. Ariadne grew quiet when Brooklyn mentioned that something had made most of the professors leave. "Do you have any idea what?" she asked. if there was some man-eating creature or a plague going around, she wanted out of here! |
Text Cut: Ariadne <3 She still hadn’t quite sorted out what her feelings were over the knowledge Ariadne had gotten to visit Hogwarts long before she could attend, but Brooklyn nodded as the younger girl had tried to explain. “I’d heard stories about Hogwarts. My grandmother came here, along with my aunts and my sister,” she explained, leaving the fact n one of them had been a Slytherin out of the conversation. It wasn’t relevant, nor had it been asked. She’d just established a sort of legacy, although it didn’t match up to having had a parent teach here. She’d shrugged at the surprise, too. “I don’t know. I can’t imagine nobody did, but it wasn’t an official thing until then.” She still had her notebook from that, although it had been generally forgotten about until now. “That depends on what you consider new and exciting. We discovered nifflers in the Chamber of Secrets.” She had trailed off as the name of her mother was revealed, thinking back as to if Lily had mentioned her as a professor. She didn’t remember it. “I think Lily might’ve had her for her first term she was here. She didn’t get to come since first year.” Most of what she remembered was Professor Culloden. She’d liked him, and now they had a whole new professor to get used to. It was frustrating, to say the least. “Who’s your sister?” Just for reference. She wasn’t curious, not really. She certainly wouldn’t have been jealous, not knowing what Ariadne’s mother was like. |
Text Cut: SilverTiger Ariadne listened to Brooklyn tell all about her family that had come to school here and then more about the Cartography Club that had once mapped out the school. "Nifflers in the Chamber of Secrets!" she exclaimed. "It's not the nifflers, it's just...I'd be TERRIFIED to go into Chamber of Secrets. I don't think there's a basilisk down there anymore, but it's even deeper underground than our common room. What if somebody got down there and couldn't ever get back up again?" This was the logic and fears of an innocent eleven-year-old. Ariadne gave a disappointed face when she realized this girl had no idea who her mom was. It wasn't that she thought her mom was super special or anything like that, but it would at least be some connection to Brooklyn. Maybe she knew her sister, though! "Sierra Greingoth," she proudly said. "She plays Beater for the Holyhead Harpies. I also have an older sister named Anna and a little brother named Damien." Anna had only played Quidditch here at the school, which made her REALLY lucky! Quidditch had already been disbanded once Ariadne got here. Damien didn't play, of course. He was an infant. He was a GREINGOTH, though, so of course he'd play when he was older! "So do you play any sports? Quidditch? Gobstones?" she asked. |
Text Cut: Anna The fact Ariadne had merely listened to her, and hadn’t felt the need to comment on whether or not her lineage counted as a true legacy made Brooklyn feel like the firstie had promise. Maybe she could be someone she could find useful. At the very least, possibly not as annoying as some. Except, then there was the outburst regarding her revelation about the Chamber and the nifflers, which made her contemplate changing her opinion. “Well, we’d gone in as a group. I doubt anyone would try to go in all by themselves, and as long as someone knew you went in, I bet they’d get you out.” People rarely vanished without a trace anymore. Even the students who had gotten kidnapped by the acromantulas had been rescued, after all, and the forest was ten times scarier than the Chamber. The Chamber was just a room, and couldn’t have been that much deeper than they were right now. The obvious disappointment nearly amused her. It was hardly her fault that her sister hadn’t had Ariadne’s mother as a professor, but she shrugged as her question about the younger girl’s sister was answered. “I’ve heard her name. My dad is the coach for Puddlemere.” She wondered if Sierra had been her when Lily had, too, but she refrained from asking. Just as she didn’t comment on any of the rest. Except... “I think Anna went to Hogwarts at the same time as my aunt. Elizabeth Andrews?” Well, not anymore, but for this instance it made more sense to mention her aunt’s maiden name. She’d shrugged at the question of sports, too. “I’m a ballet dancer,” she offered. She didn’t play Quidditch or Gobstones, though. Ballet was a sport. |
