| | Defence Training Room Anyone who knows Hirsch wouldn't be surprised to find such a room up. Right next to the Dueling Arena is a room that's purely for those wishing to practice their self-defence techniques. After all, defending yourself doesn't just stop short at using a wand to do so.
The Defence Training Room looks pretty much like any other training room. Mats can be found on the floor, which should make it easier to crash land on, should you be unfortunate to do so. Need more, and slightly more cushioned, mats? Others can be found towards the back of the room. Running along part of the left wall are a series of boxing bags. While boxing is permitted in here, NO ONE is allowed to practice on another person. Please use the boxing bags provided.
Other, slightly smaller, items can be found here as well: such as weights and ropes and even dummies. The dummies are particularly useful for those who want to practice more Oriental types of self-defence. Or even those who want to practice their kicks and punches. However, do be careful of the ones that like to fight back.
Something that's not permitted in here? Magic. OOC: Please make sure to comply with the SS and the School RPG Rules. Think of this room like a sort of gym. No outright action-movie fighting with another charrie please <3 |

If he were back in Japan, he’d probably get strong words out of his sensei for his clumsiness. It was never the way of a samurai to begin with, and it was clear to him that he’s sloooowly failing at being an accomplished wizard.
Maybe...maybe he should just go to a normal school. That way, he’d feel better about himself and not think about failure. “N-no, professor. I haven’t apologized to the Headmistress. I’m...I’m not sure how she’ll take me after what I did.” Because who knows? Maybe she eats kids too? Hopefully not.
Jace briefly glanced at the professor as soon as he spoke, and bowed his head again as he continued to listen to Hirsch. Silence was given to the man as he mulled over his words, and slowly...things fell into place. Jace sighed as he finally understood what his teachers taught him back in Japan: To live in the moment. The Ravenclaw looked up to make an eye contact with the man, and returned his smile with his own. “I understand, professor.”
Now that he’s enlightened, Jace shifted in his seating position, inching closer to the man. “Professor? Can you...can you help me harness it?” he said picking up his wand, “I want to be able to control my magic, be a true master of my cherry wand, and be an accomplished dueller.” Jace knew it would take time and practice, just like in Kendo, but he was sure he’d be able to accomplish it soon, if not, later. This kid stayed in his head a lot, didn't he? That was the impression Hirsch was getting when he got up again and decided to stay silent. But when he did speak up, it was to answer the part about apologising to the Headmistress. Well, that was probably a given given the chaos that Hag's lesson must've been. "I doubt she'd mind, she might even like it or brush it off by saying that there was no harm done." This was guesswork but he wasn't about to tell Jace that. "Do you want company when you go?" He wouldn't even say anything: just stand there and let the boy get on with it.
Again, silence. Just silence. And it was one that Roderik wasn't about to break anytime soon so he stayed silent as well and waited to see if he'd get a response from Jace. When he did, though, the man nodded along before saying, "So don't be so hard on yourself, okay? Just.... go along with it. You can't take back what you've done, you can just try and make it better." Simple.
Help him harness it? The Professor's expression lit up immediately at the sound of those words. This meant a number of things: boxing, martial arts..... all different areas of defence and all very important. Oh, it was as if his birthday had come early. "It'll take time and lots of practice but I'd be willing to help you, yeah. You'll get better over time." Was this why the boy hadn't signed up for the Tournament part of the Dueling Club? Hm? "Is there anything you find particularly difficult?"
