| | Broom Closet
A musty old closet under near the grand staircase contains brooms, mops, and various other cleaning supplies, including that amazing soap and softener from last term's laundry days. So maybe somebody should make use of them! OOC NOTE: All SS Board Rules and School Rules apply in this closet. Violators may be punished both IC and OOC for any inappropriate behavior taking place in this thread.

| BOOMBAYAH! | #PuedoPorquePiensoQuePuedo | Certified Blank and Random Person | Raventastic Ava lost her duel against Blaise Bellaire.
And this was her second lost.
When Professor Hirsch mentioned that she didn't win the second duel, the young lioness tried to hide her unhappy face and congratulate the Gryffindor boy. She pretended to accept her lost and happy for her friend but she was hurt inside. Not to mention that she had been questioning her dueling ability. Was she not that good enough? Okay, she didn't mind about losing... but twice? The young lioness felt like she didn't belong in the club anymore. She had been thinking to quit the dueling club and avoid any kind of the club activity. There was still another tournament but there's no point to do it because she was gonna lose anyway.
Now she was here, hiding.
The broom closet was such a perfect spot for hiding. Nobody would gonna find or see her. Ava just sat down there hugging her knees and tried not to shed any tear. She was such a big disappointment! She thought that she was good in dueling and this was the only thing that would make her mom proud of her but apparently it wasn't...
SHE WAS JUST A LOSER!

SHE WAS JUST A LOSER! Tia was about to head back up to the Ravenclaw Towers to squeeze in a bit of studying, when she caught sight of something .... someone .... disappearing into a broom closet. She was warned about possible PDA occurrences in the broom closet, but that couldn't of been the case because there was just ONE someone that she notice. A small someone whom she vaguely recognized from months prior interactions. There were really only a handful of reasons one would disappear into a broom closet and all of which would be reasons for a Head Girl to investigate.
Drawing a deep breath - because studying could wait, her fellow students were more important - Tia's hand hovered over the handle to the closet for just a moment before she drew it upwards slightly.
And knocked. Because it would be more polite that way.

Maybe this would be her secret safe spot or something like that, just needed to add the sleeping bag and some other supplies so she could camp over here. Yeah, what a perfect hiding spot.
Ava heard someone was knocking. Ugh, it must be the older students who wanted to use HER place to snog or doing something inappropriate. But wait, those horny older students would not gonna give a knock, wouldn't they? Well, whoever it was--either it was the Professor or prefects or anyone else, she didn't give a damn about them. She simply ignored the knocking and didn't say any words because... Why she should to that? She didn't do anything wrong in here... Not snogging anyone or doing any illegal things. She was just simply hiding from everything.

What Tia would have expected after knocking was a who's there? or a leave me alone, but what she actually heard was something entirely different and even more worrisome than being asked to 'go away'. Silence. Silence was worrying because it meant that whoever was in there - and she knew someone was in there - was doing so to hide and not be found. And if they didn't want to be found, then SOMETHING must be wrong. And as Head Girl, well, Tia felt responsible to make sure the something was okay.
Another deep breath and Tia pulled the closet open ajar enough to peek in. "Hello? Ava?" She squinted into the dark closet at the familiar Gryffindor, pretty sure it was the second year. "May I come in?" Because that wasn't really a question, Tia slipped inside and closed the door behind her.

When she didn't answer the knock, Ava expected that person would leave her alone in this closet. She just wanted some peace and be alone and not being disturbed by any other person in this world. But it seemed like this person didn't understand it. Sigh, maybe next time she should lock the door or put the 'LEAVE ME ALONE' sign on the door. A big one, with red ink and some dangerous signs.
Like she had predicted, it was one of the student leaders who was the person. The Head Girl to be exact. The young lioness didn't say any word when Tia entered the closet. Simply she wanted her to leave her alone but there was no point to tell her because as a student leader, she would insist to stay and wanted to know what had happened to her. Don't worry, Tia. She was just fine and didn't do any stupid things in here.

She barely even had encounters with PDA as most older students have had by seventh year. So this broom closet was entirely new venue for her. Biting her lower lip, she studied the young Gryffindor a moment trying decipher if everything was okay. The girl was a Gryffindor, which meant on the outside she wasn't showing any signs of things being wrong; but people didn't just hide in broom closets for the fun of it either. "You going to tell me why or whom you're hiding from?" Tia asked gently. Because it wasn't like neither one was going anyplace, considering Tia was effectively in the way of Ava escaping.

"You going to tell me why or whom you're hiding from?" Tia asked gently. Because it wasn't like neither one was going anyplace, considering Tia was effectively in the way of Ava escaping. It looked like this was the first time Tia had been in this broom closet... Or maybe second, Ava remembered that Professor Dakest had a class activity once in this closet last term. Maybe the Head Girl needed to know that the broom closet wasn't only such a good place for lovebirds snogging or doing something inappropriate. It's also a good place for hiding or escaping from the evil reality, just like what she's currently doing now. You going to tell me why or whom you're hiding from?
She lifted her face and looked at the Head Girl. Ava didn't know if she really told her what was the reason she was hiding in here. maybe she should... But would she understand? Sigh. "I lost on my duel... again." Yes, by again it meant that this was her second lost. The young lioness couldn't hide her disappointed face. Last term she did very good but now she was so... lousy. And not to mention she lost against her fellow Gryffindors which makes her feel very embarrassed, ugh! "I don't know why... I have practiced very hard, done my best but I just... I keep losing." What would her mom gonna say if she knew this? Of course that Russian woman wouldn't be happy. My goodness, thinking about her mother's unhappy face makes her depressed.
Was it even a valid answer to the Head Girl's question? Yes, maybe. She was hiding because she couldn't face her losing. It was not the most Gryffindor thing but she couldn't help. After all, she was just a twelve year old girl.

Was it even a valid answer to the Head Girl's question? Yes, maybe. She was hiding because she couldn't face her losing. It was not the most Gryffindor thing but she couldn't help. After all, she was just a twelve year old girl. For a moment, Tia reflected on the ridiculous notion of the situation - of following a young Gryffindor into the Broom Closet who was so obviously hiding from something. Really, it probably wasn't her business; for all she knew, the young girl got rejected from friendship or a love interest, which why should she meddle in something like that?
But when Ava lifted her face, and told her, well Tia knew she was being truthful. She also knew that the girl felt bad about it and felt like a failure. And well, Tia couldn't bear to leave Hogwarts behind her knowing that Ava felt like such. Even if Ava didn't quite understand what her words meant at that moment, saying them now would let them simmer in Ava's head and the girl would be better off because of them.
Before saying anything, however, the seventh year reached over and hugged Ava to start. "You know, I lost my first two duels this term too, but that doesn't mean we're terrible at dueling. It's really just practice and as long as we know we tried. As long as we know we gave it our all. That we learned from our duels, then we didn't lose. Not really. Because we're winners in here and here," she pointed to her head and her heart. "You've got a spirit and a desire to learn and in the end, what happens during a duel during your second year at Hogwarts, or even during your seventh, doesn't limit what you can do with your life. While it's nice to win, it's more important that you learned from those failures. Without failure, we wouldn't ever truly succeed. And in the end, our experiences of failing will likely make us stronger in the end and help use to succeed in life where it's truly important. So winning or losing doesn't matter, but it's what you do after you've won or lost." Because if she won and gloated and never did anything with that win, then it's just the same as if she'd have lost.

| BOOMBAYAH! | #PuedoPorquePiensoQuePuedo | Certified Blank and Random Person | Raventastic Maybe the Head Girl thought that it was stupid that she decided to be here and hid from everything since she was a Gryffindor. But guess what, she was just an ordinary human and she wasn't perfect. There was a moment that she was a loser and not being a very Gryffindor at all. She just couldn't handle the losings. When she dueled with Char and lost, Ava also had a breakdown and not feel confident to continue. But after that she had been practiced harder for the next duel against Blaise... And lost again. She was just desperate and disappointed. For a moment she thought that maybe she wasn't that good in dueling. So that's why she gave up and hid in here.
Again, there was her mother's disappointed face coming to her mind. Yes, when she signed up for this club for the first time, Ava wanted to show her mother that she could do something good in wizarding lessons, considering that she was not as bright and smart as her twin brother. But who knew that she could enjoy it very much and get attached with it so she didn't really think about her mother anymore.
It was nice be hugged, Ava likes warm hugs. And Tia reminded her of her elder sister.... Now she missed Zhenya. She wished that her sister was here or at least came to visit on Hogsmeade weekend again but it seemed like she was busy with her job. A small smile appeared from her face when she listened to the Head Girl's words. "I know." Tia wasn't the first person who mentioned about that dueling is more than just winning or losing the tournament. Henric kept mentioning that to her. But then back to her first reason she joined the club. "I just want to show my mother that... I can be good in something that doesn't involve pranks or physical brawl." Okay, Ava had never involved in a brawl since she came to Hogwarts, but back when she was in elementary school, she had involved several times and she was sure that her mother still saw her as that kid.

| Sorry for the delay! ALSO HOW DID WE NOT NOTICE THE SURNAME?!? o.O YesJess! | Captain Goggles | Mama Badger | Eva's Soul Sister | An OG™ | It's all in the Numbers The girl's quiet and apprehensiveness made Tia wonder if she was even listening. If she fell asleep? If she was just being polite and quiet so Tia would leave her alone.
But when Ava finally spoke and said simply, I know, well Tia knew she would be alright. She needed time to cool off and recollect. She needed time to gather her courage. And the interesting thing about it was that Ava had time to learn. Time to fail. Time to succeed. "You will show her. You've got time, Ava. Just wait. One day, she'll be so proud of you, she'll cry tears of joy and happiness that it will fill the North Sea." Okay, maybe that was a tad exaggerated, but exaggerations were necessary sometimes.

| slightly wrapping up (and what's wrong with her surname? XD) BOOMBAYAH! | #PuedoPorquePiensoQuePuedo | Certified Blank and Random Person | Raventastic A small smile appeared on her face. The head girl was right, she still had time to make her mother proud... Well, maybe not as exaggerated as Tia had described since her mother is a cold Russian woman who was too pride to show her excitement. That's why Ava always wondered if her mother had ever felt proud of her achievement on her first year in Hogwarts. She had never mentioned that. "Thank you very much, Tia." The young lioness gave her a hug. No wonder why the headmistress chose her as a Head Girl; she was very nice and good in encouraging the students. Looks like Tia took her duty as a student leader very well and she would gonna be missed when she graduated soon. Ava would remember this conversation for the rest of her life and took a mental note that losing a duel doesn't mean she was such a loser.
