Unforgivable Duel #1 - Justin McLeod & { Meredith Moxley } Quote:
Quote:
Welcome to your first duel. This is the first step of determining your standing in the Unforgivable Tournament, and more importantly, discovering who you are as a dueler. Each dueler is expected to adhere to all DADA Classroom rules, Dueling Club Rules and SS site rules. Spells may be used from the following List. Any spells on this list are not permitted unless approval has been granted. Physical actions and their costs can be found below: NOTE: Fatigue points ONLY need to be used when you are physically attacking someone, or avoiding a spell. All other maneuverings around the hall do not need to be accounted for. Text Cut: Cost of Physical Actions -------------------------------------- A referee (Professor Flamsteed or Dakest) will be assigned to your duel and present. They will only interfere if there is need, including foul play, serious injury or unacceptable or illogical use of spells. Remember to... Display etiquette. Maintain respect. Exhibit integrity. Demonstrate skill. Find ingenuity. Use cunning. Maintain strength. Good luck -------------------------------------- OOC: Each duel must be completed by no later than October 24, midnight GMT-6 (OOC). Remember that a duel ends when one dueler has lost ALL magic or ALL health points. Please make duels a minimum of 3 posts each. These first duels will be a trail run of sorts. The point system for the spells and physical actions was done by thought and hasn't been tested. You all are the guinea pigs. Let me know how it goes :) If you find that there are be difficulties in the weight of points, please let me know. If there are spells missing you think should be included, please let me know. If you have questions, please ask. Also, if for some reason you cannot complete or start your duel, please let both me and your partner know. We will work something out. Remember: duelers MUST keep track of their own points as they go. At the top of their post (in the tag line) they must include their current standing of points, as they are at the BEGINNING of that post. At the bottom of their post, they must include a 'spoiler' tag, including the spells which they've cast (and the directionallity of the spell, so the opponent can easily reference the potential damage to themselves), the spell(s) that have affected them (if any) and their own final Point Standing for that post. |
hp: 500 | mp: 1,000 | fp: 50 First adults dueling. This should be gooood. Justin was feeling special and a bit peculiar about the choice on him facing a lady. But hey, it wasn't his call and she had to be a damn good dueler to face him. Before stepping onto the platform he gave Meredith a little finger-waggling wave with his Standing at the appropriate spot, "Good luuuuuuck." Justin sang off before lowering his upper-half into a nice bow keeping his eyes locked with Meredith. Now his wand was fully drawn out towards the Head of Hufflepuff House as soon as the signal came for them to start, "Impedimenta!" Take that to start with. SPOILER!!: Points Tracker |
H: 500 | m: 1,000 | f: 50 Poor McLeod, having to face a looker like her. Her beauty was clearly going to work in her favor considering that finger wiggle. Poor man was obviously crushing on her. Gave her the upper hand, just saying. Moxley returned the finger wiggle, her own smile confident. This was going to be so much fun! Heh. "And to you, Mr. Groundskeeper!" Moxley's tone was cheerful but the way she was looking at him betrayed her inner lioness. She could be fierce when she wanted and now was certainly the time, wasn't it? So bowing low at the waist while holding his gaze, she anticipated his first move. Surely neither one of them would be holding back. "Protego!" The words left her mouth at the same moment his had, her shield acting as a way to not only keep her safe, but deflect the spell back at McLeod. If it worked, he'd be getting a taste of his own medicine which she quite enjoyed. Justice. But just in case... A little tickling never hurt anyone so Moxley just as quickly sent a charm his way in hopes of seeing him squirm a bit. SPOILER!!: Points Tracker |
hp: 500 | mp: 975 | fp: 50 Ooh, fiesty. Just the way Justin liked them. He could tell she was just from the sudden spark in Meredith's eyes. His smirk turned into a wide grin. This would be a snap, knowing the nasty sort of creatures he had to protect himself from his previous job. Last thing he needed was to face whatever spell that came after that. Especially when he only had the wand movement to determine that. But he had points to conserve, so he had to take the first one like a man. So, Justin kept himself posed out as if ready to direct another spell. Letting the rebounded Impendimenta jinx hit him, he blurted out within those few seconds of being stunned, "Protego," There. That ought to keep her distracted with whatever spell she shot out after the reflection before, "Incarcerous!" Letting snake like ropes shoot out ready to give her a nice tight hug. SPOILER!!: After move(s) |
H: 500 | m: 950 | f: 50 Stealing her moves, eh? Meredith ducked as the spell she'd sent at Justin came back in her direction. Unfortunately for her, the need to get up had stolen just enough of her focus to prevent her from protecting herself from the ropes that were now wrapped snugly around her. "Nice one," She mumbled as she aimed her wand at herself as best she could and said, "Finite." She shook out her arms, eyes on his. Her face might've let on that she was out of sorts but she was anything but as she called out confidently, "Slugulus Eructo" What? The man did enjoy creatures, didn't he? He worked on the grounds, after all. SPOILER!!: Points Tracker |
hp: 490 | mp: 950 | fp: 45 There we go. Justin knew that Hufflepuff House couldn't resist the hugs as he cheekily replied with a soft wink, "I know, thanks." Now He knew he needed to act quick before she got rid of those ropes, so he aimed at the former lioness again whilst she struggled, "Here's another gift from me to you, Melofors!" Now what would she use? Justin thought about which spell to use next. Something that would get her looking more eye-attracting, yes? Well, he didn't get much time to think as he saw her quickly get up. Oh man. Which to use? Okay, defense for now. He moved his arm out just as he heard the next spell from her. "Pro-" He loved gifts and some creatures as much as the next guy, but not for brunch! As he went to deflect again with- "doh," only to get an intense feeling in his stomach before-BELCH. Fresh slugs came pouring out of his mouth with each breath and belch. Well.. this wasn't his first choice on showing his burping skills. BELCH. Now how was he going to act next turn? SPOILER!!: After move(s) |
Sorry these things weren't outlined clearly before....
|
H: 485 | m: 920 | f: 40 Suddenly Moxley couldn't see, which was frighting. Pumpkin? She had pumpkin head? Merlin would her husband have paid to see this! She would've panicked, too, as now she was terribly susceptible to danger. Or well, she would have been. Hearing the "Finite." She'd ended the spell that had her head encased in a pumpkin and now she could see and the sight of Justin throwing up made Moxley want to throw up, too. Oh no, okay, don't do it! Take advantage of this! Ignore your queasy stomach, Meredith! MERLIN! After a deep breath and a mental reminder of where she was, Moxley focused. Aiming true at Justin, she called out clearly, "Levicorpus!" She then added as an afterthought, "Maybe being upsidedown will make the slugs come out easier!" That is, if her spell hit. SPOILER!!: Points Tracker |
hp: 480 mp: 925 fp: 45 Aw, look at the pumpkin head kiddies, Hic-BELCH. So much for laughing. Hic-BELCH. Doubling over letting two more drop out of his mouth. BELCH. Well, this was getting old now as the floor was getting littered in fresh juicy slugs. Maybe if he's lucky Meredith could get distracted if he burped one right at her. Uh oh- Since he couldn't speak and had magic to save, Justin side-rolled out of the way to dodge that spell. BELCH. He sighed. Not going to be able to have enough energy if he just dodged while burping out slugs. So after another fresh BELCH, Justin took his wand pointed at himself, Finite. Good thing non-verbals were up his sleeve as his stomach already felt calmer. Wiping the last remnants of slug slime from his lips he grinned. "Guess again." It was back on. SPOILER!!: After move(s) |
Still working out the kinks. Here are two important spell updates. If you have already used these spells, don't worry about them, please still follow through as per the previous guidelines/point systems for the spells. If you haven't, and are considering them, these are the new rules for Expelliarmus and Stupefy. See the Q & A thread for more details :) SPOILER!!: Expelliarmus After Blaise Bellaire was knocked-out with a stupefy spell, it has been banned from the club. Reason for this is that the Tournament Duels are supposed to help students practice dueling, and having a K/O isn't the best way to do this. Therefore, Stupefy will be a spell permitted only in practice sessions and Challenges, as per the new point system: SPOILER!!: Stupefy (NO longer permitted in tournaments) |
h: 470 | m: 890 | f: 40 So they were back on even ground, it seemed. Meredith grinned at Justin, eager to continue on. She'd forgotten how much fun dueling could be. Felt like a kid again, Moxley did. Were the kiddos cheering for her in the stands? She fully expected one Zander Adair to be, just saying. Circling the groundskeeper thoughtfully, Moxley said cheerfully,"You've got good moves, Justin, but you should really mind your shoes. Those laces will get you every time." And just as quickly, the brunette was saying, "Colloshoo!" Whether he blocked or it stuck, Moxley didn't waste any time watching as she quickly followed up with the cheering charm. She said the incantation clearly and aimed at Justin, hoping her spell hit. Either way, she'd put in a good effort. SPOILER!!: Points Tracker |
hp: 480 | mp: 885 | fp: 40 Now this was fun. Justin was so glad to have signed up for this. It was a great match with keeping his skills sharp as ever. No way was this Groundskeeper falling for that other curse after enough time here. Say what now? Justin could barely mutter out a thanks before- *WA-CHA* "NOooo! These were very expensive shoes!" A slight exaggeration as he could feel his height lower. No doubt those shoes were already melted like glue to the floor. He only glanced downward before back up to counter. "Protego." Quickly enough to only stop that Cheering charm from hitting right before his eyes. "That was a nice shot, sweet cheeks. Now let's see if you can handle this!" He winked before sending off out loud the Jelly-Fingers Curse. Hope Meredith's as good with using her feet if this hits. Speaking of, Justin now was left to wiggle his own feetsies out of the molded loafers. *wiggle, wiggle* SPOILER!!: After move(s) |
hp: 470 | mp: 835 | fp: 40 "All is fair in friendship in dueling." Or something like that. Essentially, sorry not sorry. Moxley was playing to win here. The competition of it all was quite fun, yes? Sweetcheeks? Moxley couldn't help it, she burst into giggles. "Stop flirting with me J-WHA!" Spell. A spell that would've hit if she hadn't known something was coming. The muggle studies professor squeaked as she narrowly ducked the spell and Merlin was it hard for her to get up once she was down in the crouched position, let me tell you. Yikes. She wasn't moving, not right this second. She needed something to distract-oh! "Obscuro!" That should keep him distracted long enough to, y'know, find a way to stand up. SPOILER!!: Points Tracker |
hp: 470 | mp: 860 | fp: 40 Chuckling softly, "All's fair in friendship with dueling." Soft wink. Did she really think her looks alone would save her from his charms? Justin certainly didn't think so, now it looked like she was in an uncomfortable position. Poor thing. "Here, let me help you move. Tarantallegra!" Now leaving her to deal with that while she was low it was back to freeing his feetsies. *wiggle, wiggle, wiggle* *wiggle, wiggle, wiggle* *POP* Finally, Justin was melted-shoe free as he slipped out in his colorful socks and all. "Oh no!" And that was the last he saw before he felt something slap across his eyes. "MY EYESSS!" Noo, he was blind and could longer see the finer things in life. Oh nah, it was just a blindfold. Quickly, he drew his wand at the silky fabric over his eyes. "Finite." Hm, a pink blindfold. How classy. SPOILER!!: After move(s) |
Hp: 470 | mp: 820 | fp: 35 Moxley had zero time to shield herself considering her current position and so the brunette took the full force of Justin's spell, her feet dancing away as she lost her balance and fell back onto her bottom. She was sure the groundskeeper would've gotten a kick outta that-no really, she probably would've kicked him, her legs were going crazy-but dude was blindfolded, thank Merlin. Bought her a moment and that's all she needed. "Finite!" Much better. She didn't even bother standing up fully at this point, just sat up straight and trained her wand at her opponent. First saying the trip jinx aloud and then following with a spirited, "Incarcerous!" Followed by a deep breath because dueling was tiring, okay? Could a muggle studies professor get a water break or? SPOILER!!: Points Tracker |
hp: 460 | mp: 815 | fp: 40 Justin pocketed that pink blindfold, as he knew just who to save that for. Now it was dueling time, he definitely had another spell up his sleeve as he witnessed how tired she looked. "Hey, you're looking kinda thirsty, Meredith." And tired, but he was not going to risk her proving him wrong by admitting it, "Here, drink up. Aqua Eructo!" Aiming to hopefully make sure the water shot right on her face and under her feet to keep her down. Justin then considered following it up with a nice freeze spell to cool her off. But that wasn't happening when he got hit with the trip jinx making him fall over. "DOH!" Looking up, "Heeey- Protego!" No way was he letting the next one hit, instead watching it rebound off his charm. "Don't worry this ought to dry you up. Ventus!" There. It may have came off a bit strong.. but there was no reason for Justin to look Now then, he could finally get off the floor as the trip jinx ran its course. It was almost over, yeah? SPOILER!!: After move(s) |
Just as Justin's last spells went off, so did the grandfather clock. On the first strike, a wall of shimmering light shot up between the two duels, fizzling out the spells in effect. Then, on the second strike it dissipated into a shower of what could have been taken for glitter, had it remained on the floor any longer than a split second. With no need to toss a green light across the duel, Sabel simply made his way up, grinning at his two colleagues. "Duel over and called. Professor Moxely, I must congratulate you on your victory." His grin went to Justin. "And I think, sir, pink is totally your color." OOC: Thanks so much for dueling! It was an awesome read! Duel is now officially over. I will have next pairs up by the end of the Second Meeting :) |
