| | Transfiguration Noticeboard As you walk down the Sixth floor corridor towards the Transfiguration classroom, you will notice something on the ward. The closer you approach, the clearer it is.
A noticeboard.
Pinned to the wall directly next to the door of the Transfiguration Classroom, you will find any information you require. Details about your next classes, and homework will be posted, as well as other bits and pieces Professor York might wish for you to know. |

| Sassenach | RAVENPUFF | Sing me a song of a lass that is gone | bookDRAGON | #awkwardturtle<# Transfiguration Homework One You may work solo, as pairs, or in a group. Your task, if you choose to accept it;
Walk around the castle, inside or outside, and find an assortment of objects and try some of the spells listed below on those items. The larger your items, the more difficult it will be. Changing the nature (ie. Animate to/from inanimate) will also be more difficult, as will non-verbal spell casting. Vera Verto

Wand Movement: Three taps
Effect: Transform object to water goblet Flintifors
Incantation: Flintifors (Flint-ee-FORS)

Effect: Transform object to matchbox Scribblifors
Incantation: Scribblifors (SKRIB-luh-forz)
Wand Movement: Point, flick to the right
Effect: Turn object into quill Fungifors
Incantation: Fungifors (Fuhn-gee-FORS)
Wand Movement: ‘n’ shape

Incantation: Piertotum Locomotor (PY-air-TOH-tuhm LOH-koh-MOH-tor)
Wand Movement: Point at object

Minimum 5 posts per person. Please label each post (eg. Transfiguration Homework Post 1… etc. or some variant). Have fun with it; marks are given for content, not based on whether their character was successful. You don’t need to do all of the spells, but have fun with trying some of them on different things to see what happens.
Homework Due in 2 weeks (Saturday 10th October at 11:59PM GMT). Read the guidelines regarding homework submission.

| Sassenach | RAVENPUFF | Sing me a song of a lass that is gone | bookDRAGON | #awkwardturtle<# Transfiguration Homework Two Activity: Try, again, to cast a spell you know well, preferably a Transfigurative spell. Now try playing with these things (posture/form, wand movement, pronunciation, focus etc.), For example; try it with good form/posture and good focus, but saying it incorrectly. Try saying it correctly with good form but not focusing etc. See what happens and reflect on the activity by answering the questions below. Question 1: Why is focusing on a spell so important? What are the results if poorly done? Question 2: Why is the correct pronunciation of a spell so important? What are the results if poorly done? Question 3: Why is correct form/posture and wand movement so important? What are the results if poorly done? Question 4: How can you improve your spells by using the techniques we practiced in class (stretching exercises, verbal and focus exercises)? OOC: Homework Due in 2 weeks (Saturday 14th November at 11:59PM GMT). Please read the guidelines regarding homework submission.
Your activity post only needs to be one well formed post, however if you would like to do more than one post, go ahead. You can work in groups or solo. If you have any questions, please PM me. |
