| | Transfiguration Lesson 1 Welcome to your first Transfiguration lesson with Professor York. The gramophone in the classroom is playing some soft cello music, which floats down the corridor of the sixth floor.
The door to the classroom is wide open, and Professor York is standing at the front of the class leaning against her desk, ready to greet all of those new faces. In her hands is a bowl full of familiar looking beans. That’s right; Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans. As your character come through, she offers them the bowl with a slightly sly smile. Do you dare try one?
On the board in front there is a message; Please write your first and last name on the badges located on each desk.
On each desk is a small rectangular badge. Normal quill ink will work fine.
The classroom is currently a soft cream colour with dark furniture. On top of the Professor's large desk is a box of small musical instruments. What are they for, you might be thinking. The single school desks are arranged in a circle with an empty desk reserved for Professor York. Please take a seat, say hello to a neighbour, get your things out and put your name badges on. OOC: Class will start in about 15-20 hours.
Class has officially started now, so please don't post you character arriving late unless you want to suffer the wrath of Beatrice! Muahaha
Please make sure you read the rules before posting too. Class Progression: Post 1 Post 2 Post 3 Post 4 |

",Crinus Muto," he tried whilst moving his wand in the appropriate form. Eeeeeeer.... You know what, there was clearly a problem here. Transfiguration was all about visualization and intent... And he did intend on doing something...
Just he hadn't actually picked the something that he intended to do. So uh, maybe a round two trial, yeah? But what did he want his hair to look like? Zander was actually quite happy with his hair at the moment.... Didn't really feel the need to switch it up. But hmph. He always wondered what he'd look like with brown hair. So maybe he'd try that? Yeah. Maybe that.
So from his normal blonde to a brown. But what style??? His hair was shorter now... Spiked up a little bit... Maybe um. Maaaybeeeee uuuuuuuh. A mohawk? Yeah. That was doable. A brown mohawk. "Crinus Muto!!" He concentrated super hard this time, imagining exactly what the style would look like once it HEY! It WORKED! Well... The brown worked. "Crinus Muto," and with one last arch, his hair shaped itself into a mohawk instead of it's normal look. Uh.
Blink. Blink. Blink.
This is even worse than he thought it'd be.
Sophie would never let him forget this look. He was sure of it.

Why wasn't it changing back?! She was sure she was saying it right. And the wand movement couldn't get any easier. What was she doing wrong?
Glaring at the half transformed item on her desk she huffed quietly. What was the problem? She had no trouble before changing the statue into a rabbit or mushroom so why couldn't she change this thing back? It was driving her crazy and for a moment the fourth year considered pushing the item away and taking a break. However there was just one problem with that...Hady didn't give up.
With a deep sigh she flexed her fingers around her wand and once more pointed it with full intent at the goblet on her desk, "Reparifarge!" The goblet twitched and the Hady could've sworn the tail shrunk just a tiny bit but that was it. Nothing else happened.
Sigh.

| 2 (first activity) Lovely™ | Captain Hurted | Ariana's Bane | Resident Antagonist | Unparalleled Delight Daxton had found himself a mouse, and was now holding it by his tail up in front of his face, watching it flail around in the air. He was wondering which parts of the mouse would morph into which parts of the goblet, or would all of the mouse become all of the goblet as opposed to, say, the stem of the goblet being made up of the mouse's tail. It was interesting to think about, but Daxton supposed he should try the spell. Even though he was certain it would not work.
He raised his wand and tapped the mouse three times, thinking Vera Verto as hard as he could, and picturing the water goblets he had seen at the Ravenclaw table on the night of the opening feast.
As expected, there was no change, the mouse only squealed and flailed all the more. Daxton peered at it, as though trying to see any change, but found none. After a moment's consideration, he tapped it again, three times. Vera veto.
Again, nothing. But Daxton was not disappointed, having expected nothing more. He watched the panicked mouse scramble around a bit more, before going to return it and getting a worm instead.

So, a rabbit tail. Hugo grabbed the statue and took a look from it, definitely was weird to see a Merlin statue with a rabbit tail BUT he was progressing and was decided to keep it that way.
Again, he cast the spell directing his wand to the statue "Lapifors!" this time, believe it or not, a rabbit appeared. It was really a surprise because to be honest he expected to keep trying until everyone else was gone and successfully achieved their practice but look at Mister Hugo Foster, he just got a rabbit. Cough. Now, either he transformed the rabbit into a mushroom or back to the statue and into a mushroom.
Rabbit into a mushroom was going to be.
Because life was too short to go by the easy way. Yolo. "Okay you...collaborate with me and be a mushroom" standing up straight and having rereading the spell, he traced out an 'n' shape with his wand and said "Fungifors" the only thing he got was a rabbit hopping away from him. "Heey...stop!" quickly he managed to grab it before it could left the room. Good. So again back to trying. This time he put the rabbit on the ground "Stay" like if it was a dog but it didn't stay still, it moved. Hugo rolled his eyes and huffed softly, this little mammal was getting on his nerves but nevermind, he was going to get that mushroom today. He stroked the rabbit's back before casting the spell, that way it wasn't going to move. Genius, right? "Fungifors!" he didn't got what he expected. It was kind of disturbing, half mushroom and half rabbit.

WAIT. But his hair. It still looked like... this. Er... There was no way he could possibly continue class looking like this. Ahem. So he hurriedly cast a quick finish to his hair to make it go right back to normal, which was a BIG relief.
Anyways.
One last look in the mirror and he moved back to the front of the classroom to pick up one of them Merlin looking things and hand back the handheld mirror. Cool. Cool. Okay, so uh... The next one was a mouthful. Piertotum Locomotor. Yeah. Right. Uh? "Pier-totally-um Loco-motor,"cycle. Heh. He attempted repeating the incantation all the way back to his spot. "Piertotumtum locomotor?" No that wasn't right. "Peeeertotum locomotor..." He was going to have to practice getting this right a couple of times before he tried practicing the real thing... Ahem. Y'know, maybe for once a nonverbal approach would be easier? Heh. Um. "Peeertotallyum locomotor..."

| Post 1 - Piertotum Locomotor Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna Oh...so they were moving on.
Benny, and the older students technically as well, hadn't really been working with anything...well besides the mirror...so he figured thats what was expected of them to put away. He moved to the front of the classroom with it, leaving it carefully where it had been before being handed out. He had no need for seven year of bad luck even if he wasn't all that suspecious. Unconsciously forgetting to swap the previous spell back, the seventh year remained with the darkened curls as he retrieved his Merlin statue and returned to his seat.
Piertotum Locomotor
That was the spell that animated inanimate objects. Like the statues of the castle during the time of Harry Potter. Yes...his further research into transfiguration over the years had expanded past just human trasnfiguration. He'd surely be working on it verbally, not much sure he would get it non-verbally, at least today during the lesson. Benny flipped through his textbook to find it so he knew exactly what he needed to say and do. The wand movement was quite simple...it was the incantation that was a tongue twister. "Piertotum Locomotor," he tried out, the words feeling weird in his mouth. "PI-er to-tum Lo-co-mo-tor."

| post 1 -- chatching up (classes & studying got in the way) HOLISTIC ACTRESS {X O} EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED Puck looked around at everyone in the class when Professor York began to speak. Already she seemed, nicer. Getting to know a Professor was kind of…not something she had really seen while attending Hogwarts and that, that would be nice. She was ready to hear what would happen. She was a hufflepuff? The little sigh that Puck breathed out was more because she missed her former Hufflepuff friends and the fact that that was where Claire was right now. The little thing was probably frightened too because well, she was so tiny and young.
She listened to what everyone else was saying and was ready to input her tidbit on Gamp’s laws when Dante brought it up. Before she could even speak the class was moving on and they were speaking about the branches and spells that belonged to them. Puck did grin when the spells were given – she knew Norah and Marsha were going to ace the water goblet transformations.
Taking her wand in hand she gave the girls a little grin as she turned and tried to find someone’s hair to ruin. If Ror was still there she’d have made her hair more vibrant…seriously the school was d-u-l-l without her. It was practically torturous without being with Bianca too…but at least she had a mirror to talk with her.
Moving her wand in an M shape she quietly cast the spell “Avis”. Her eyes glinted slightly as the flock of feathery bluebirds popped into reality. This was fun, maybe she could change someone’s hair now?
“Anyone wanna work together?” She asked grinning brightly. Whoever chose to work with her would have AMAZING hair. Bright. Cheerful. And sooooooooo fun.

| activity 2 post 1 A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
Finally managing to change his hair back to his original size, Yoongi looked around at the Professor as she announced the next part of the class. He looked at the blackboard and read that they had to try the locomotor spell. Another awesome spell if he said so himself.
He walked to the Professor’s desk and placed his mirror on top of it before grabbing a Merlin statue. Then he walked back to his place and silently groaned when he heard they had to try it non-verbally if they had managed to Transfigure it. He wasn’t good in non-verbal spells. He had managed it once..maybe twice… so far. “Piertotum Locomotor!” he said dramatically, and pointed his wand at the Merlin statue. He waited a few seconds and then came to the conclusion that it was still …a statue. “Piertotum Locomotor!” he tried again and the statue’s leg moved to the side an inch. Had the spell worked or had it been a trick of the light?

Hugo felt bad for having to do this to the rabbit. It looked cool though, I mean, if this was a freak show or something like that. Anyways, he took his wand to cast the fungi spell "Fungifors" this time he got a mushroom with a rabbit tail and ears, at least less disturbing than before. Now it looked easier to transform it into an actual mushroom. Tracing out an 'n' shape again, Hugo said loud and clear "Fungifors!" and...mushroom! It shouldn't be poisonous, right?
Oh well, at least he was done with the first activity. SUCCESSFULLY DONE. He turned the mushroom back into a Merlin statue..

The second year turned the fork over in his hand, deciding to become familiar with it as that may help. Yes. Rooney ready. "Scribblifors!" ...Oh gosh. Oh wow. The transformation was happening. His fork was almost a quill. There was a developing feather happening and a scratched end lengthening. "Professor York, I did it!!" He didn't sing it because he'd forgotten about that whole thing, but hey LOOK.

Oh.
It was supposed to be a quill. He'd try again.... envisioning a quill... light and feathery on one end, and pointy and holding ink on the other... Davie took a breath to try again.
"Scribblifors!" And he tapped the fork with his wand, watching as it elongated slightly and became feather-like. He picked it up and noticed that the very tip of it was still a bit shiny, like a fork, but hey. This quill could WRITE. Probably. If he tested it.

At least she had a mushroom, even if it was furry and had tiny bunny teeth. It wasn’t hopping around or anything, so she’d considerate passable. She didn’t need to bring attention to herself, either. Instead, she’d just pretend that nothing happened, as if she’d accomplished the spell perfectly. Nobody had to know if it wasn’t a perfect mushroom. “Finite,” she cast, letting her furry bunny mushroom transform back into the Merlin statue. See? Nothing to see here. Just an innocent redhead with a Merlin statue.
Standing up again, she returned to the table at the front to return the statue. That and collect something to do the second activity, the third spell, on. It looked like most people had gone for the teapots. A few goblets too, but it left a lot of the opera glasses left. Therefore, she took a set of those. Maybe it had been an owl before, or maybe it had been opera glasses. She couldn’t tell, but there was some sort of bird involved either way. The feathers seemed to tell her that, but first, she returned to her spot on the floor.

He was determined to at least get this spell right. He focussed super hard on his knife and imagined it changing back and forth from it's silver self to a quill. They were both pointy. Knife....quill....knife. "Scribbifors." Still nothing. Come ON!
The Ravenclaw was starting to get frustrated now. Why was Transfiguration so much harder than Charms?? Imagining the knife just as a quill this time and not changing back and forth he wiped a few beads of sweat off of his forehead and pushed his hair out of his eyes. "Scribbifors!"
He must have had enough intent and desire when casting it this time because in a blink the knife had switched and was now a fine looking quill! |

Hogwarts RPG Name: Norah Kittredge Seventh Year | Activity 2 post 2 Lil' gooz | Sarangel | Junior Dweeb With her eyes set on the kettle tortoise thingy, Norah pointed her wand. This couldn't be too hard, right? But was she trying to turn it into a tortoise or into a teapot? She let her arm fall slightly, tilting her head to the side. That really was an oversight. It made sense that the spell was going to return the object to its original state, 'cause that's just what the 'repar' part sounded like, but it wasn't like she'd done the transfiguration bit in the first place. She eyed it some more in the hopes that its original form would somehow reveal itself, but nothing happened. Go figure.
After stalling for as long as she possibly could, she pointed her wand again. With the thought of undoing the spell, instead of just the object, in mind, she cast "Reparifarge!" just liked she'd practiced. She could have sworn she saw the tea pot twitch, but otherwise nothing happened, not even something that'd give her a hint as to what the funny object had started out as. "Reparifarge!" This time the tea pot ended up entirely covered in a tortoiseshell pattern, but still very much a tea pot. Uh. At least something happened? Maybe they could just ignore this spell altogether and bask in the glory of her mushroom victory.

| Activity 1, post 4 Made of Awesome | Ern-la the Best-wa | TZ's Apogee It was time to actually try the spell out on her statue, and Dot didn't have much confidence she'd be able to do anything at all. Not with the miserable mess she'd made of that bunny spell. She leaned forward until her nose was touching the cold stone nose of Merlin, and she gave him a very firm talk about how much he wanted to be a mushroom when he grew up.
A MUSHROOM, ok?
Taking a deep breath, Dot stood again and pointed her wand at the statue. The shape was an N, and then the incantation, "Fungifors." And again, because nothing happened, the N shape, and the incantation. No panicking. Just cast it again, because it was all about convincing the statue that being a mushroom sounded fun. Almost conversationally, she tried, "Fungifors?".
Merlin turned into a pretty little red capped mushroom. Dottie G was a Transfiguration guru, that's what.

| Post 1 - Practicing Piertotum Locomotor ♥s her SS family l Wifey is MINE | Naughty Niffler l Whittysaur l #awkwardturtle<# Animating a statue seemed pretty cool to Paulina, so she was totally game for the next activity.
Approaching Professor York's desk, Paulina grabbed a Merlin statue before studying it carefully. She had never tried out this spell, so she wasn't too sure how this would go. Hopefully she would get enough practice in to be successful by the end of class. Thank goodness casting non-verbal wasn't required right off the bat because she had a feeling that wouldn't go so well.
After setting the statue down on her desk, Paulina began practicing the incantation. "Piertotum Locomotor... Piertotum Locomotor... Piertotum Locomotor..."
Since the wand movement was nothing more than pointing at the object, she saw no point in practicing that. |

| Post 3 ~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Adi waved back to Merlin enthusiastically just as an idea occurred to him. "I command thee to dance.'' Honestly, he never expected anything to happen but talk about Merlin busting out some moves, yo! He stared then doubled up with quiet laughter. Merlin was break dancing. Well, sort of. Haha. Adi applauded when the statue was done. "Thanks for the entertainment! That was awesome!'' But he really wanted to move onto the next spell. "I command thee to stay still as a statue.''
Adi then bounded over to collect one of those goblets with the tails. ''Reparifarge!" He did the appropriate wand movement and was not surprised to find that, with the help of his focus, the tail being sucked into the goblet and so rendering the object a normal looking water goblet.
Can you see how PROUD he was? Well, it did help that the Hufflepuff had practiced this spell before. Non verbally, too. Ali doesn't know why Adi's being so proud about this xD |

| Activity 2, post 1 Shoe!Girl │ Rebel Ravie │ Confundus Queen │ RP Addict Taking a seat on the floor again, Brooklyn just stared at the opera glasses for a few seconds. She still hadn’t quite figured out what she was supposed to be repairing it to be, what the original object was. Especially after she’d had the minor difficulty with turning her rabbit into a mushroom, she felt like she needed to know all the details. The only problem was that she hardly was about to ask, not with the singing rule. She still didn’t have her violin, so she was just going to have to figure out how to get around not knowing. Maybe she could just focus on returning it to the original form without knowing what that form was.
Either way, she wanted to practice first. It seemed like the wand movement was just a point again, so that didn’t need to be worried about. She knew how to point. The weirder part was the incantation. “Reparifarge,” she said slowly, her wand lying on the floor by her leg just so there wasn’t any unintentional casting. “Reparifarge, reparifarge, reparifarge.” The only part that made sense out of the whole word was the ‘repair’ part. It still didn’t answer how she was going to repair something when she didn’t know what it was supposed to be. Was it a set of opera glasses that went through a failed attempt to become a bird, or was it a bird who was stuck partway into becoming opera glasses?

Fourth Year | Post 1 - scribblifors
Sabbath thought that this was probably quite a useful spell to know. It was so annoying when you needed a quill and there wasn't one handy, Merlin knows, its happened to us all.
He lay the fork down and practiced the incantation and wand movement in his mind. He was ready, "Scribblifors" he said... Nothing. Ugh! "Scribblifors" he repeated.. Oh! A feather with tines at one end. Sabbath raised an eyebrow. Interesting, but still frustrating.
Once more, with conviction, "Scribblifors" he commanded... and there it was, a quill, in all it's mundane glory. Sabbath was relieved. Phew! He'd done it.

| Activity 2 - Post 3 Otter This World ♡ Catpurrccino ♡ Slotherin ♡ Pandamonium What more was she supposed to do? The brunette quickly ran a frustrated hand through her hair. Why wasn't it working? No charm had ever took her this long to learn except for one but that was a much more advanced charm then this. So why wasn't it WORKING!
Hady lifted her wand once more and pointed it at the rat tailed water goblet fixing all her focus on intent on transforming it back, "Reparifarge!" Transform. Please transform. Even just a little was better then not at all.
Change back. Change backkkkkkk. She silently willed the tail to disappear.
When after a full two minutes had passed with absolutely nothing taking place Hady set her wand down on the desk. Dropping her forehead to the desk she groaned softly to herself in defeat. She was done. That was it. She couldn't get it...maybe she'd have another try in a few minutes.

| Post 3 - Scribblifors Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite Okay, stop.
He was officially the most confused little boy on the planet. It was one thing to not have been told the wand movement--because he wasn't gonna be casting it anyway--but now, looking around at his fellow first years...some were tapping and some were pointing. WHICH ONE WAS IT AND HOW DID THEY KNOW AND DID THEY KNOW THAT AT LEAST HALF OF THEM HAD TO BE WRONG? Unless there could be two wand movements? Wouldn't that confuse the wand? He didn't know, his wand didn't seem easily confused, just awful head strong.
Blaise huffed loudly. Four Eyes was tapping. Ava was pointing. He couldn't see what that one other Ravenclaw kid was doing, nor could he see what the Slytherin Firstie was doing but they must have all been doing something he wasn't--quite obvious given the fact they actually HAD their wands in their hands but that wasn't where he was going with this. "Scribblifors." Might as well just keep at what he was doing. It didn't matter. It wouldn't work. "Scribblifors." While he uttered the incantation, he tried locating a clock within the room, surely an hour was over by now. "Scribblifors."

| #2 Arts TRANSPONSTER! The tortoise teapot was not supposed to be like that, so Jet pointed her wand at it again. "Reparifarge." She said without taking her eyes off her target.
It took a few seconds until all Jet had in front of her was a tortoise. When she was done, she put her wand away and watched the animals for a little while before picking it up and looking towards the professor to see where she was meant to leave it.

| 3 (activity 1) Lovely™ | Captain Hurted | Ariana's Bane | Resident Antagonist | Unparalleled Delight The worms were gross, Daxton had decided. Generally, he liked to learn about creatures and find out all he could about them, but he did not like to touch them or... well, or get anywhere near them in general. Animals were not really his thing. At all.
Of course, that meant that he had no qualms in transfiguring them, as he did not necessarily care about the fate of the creatures, or even consider it at all. The worm he had selected was draped over his finger, either end wriggling and curling up grotesquely. Daxton made a face at the thing before pointing his hand at it. There was no real point in practicing beforehand, as he knew it was unlikely to work at all. Flintifors.
Daxton pictured a matchbox in his head, pointed his wand directly at the worm and flicked it upwards, willing it to change, for the magic to be channelled from him through the wand and at the worm. But it did not work of course, and the worm remained a worm, squirming lamely over his finger. Unsurprising.
