| | Transfiguration Lesson 1 Welcome to your first Transfiguration lesson with Professor York. The gramophone in the classroom is playing some soft cello music, which floats down the corridor of the sixth floor.
The door to the classroom is wide open, and Professor York is standing at the front of the class leaning against her desk, ready to greet all of those new faces. In her hands is a bowl full of familiar looking beans. That’s right; Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans. As your character come through, she offers them the bowl with a slightly sly smile. Do you dare try one?
On the board in front there is a message; Please write your first and last name on the badges located on each desk.
On each desk is a small rectangular badge. Normal quill ink will work fine.
The classroom is currently a soft cream colour with dark furniture. On top of the Professor's large desk is a box of small musical instruments. What are they for, you might be thinking. The single school desks are arranged in a circle with an empty desk reserved for Professor York. Please take a seat, say hello to a neighbour, get your things out and put your name badges on. OOC: Class will start in about 15-20 hours.
Class has officially started now, so please don't post you character arriving late unless you want to suffer the wrath of Beatrice! Muahaha
Please make sure you read the rules before posting too. Class Progression: Post 1 Post 2 Post 3 Post 4 |

| Post 3 - Fungifors Otter This World ♡ Catpurrccino ♡ Slotherin ♡ Pandamonium Sadly she knew she couldn't keep the rabbit. Or at least not right now. She had to keep going and give the name transfiguration a go. Fungifors or something like that.
Glancing over at her parchment on the corner of her desk told her that she was correct. Hady whispered a quiet 'finite' to cancel her previous spell and set the rabbit back into the Merlin statue. She'd give the easier way of statue to mushroom a chance first before attempting anything else. "Fungifors, fungifors, fungifors", Hady chanted quietly under her breath getting herself used to what the word was. When she was sure she was saying it properly she gripped her wand in her hand and started making an 'n' movement her wand in the air a few times. This didn't seem all that hard either honestly and after about three tries of making the shape Hady wanted to move on.
Clearing her throat quietly she held her wand out towards the statue, "Fungifors", she recited while making the 'n' shape. And.... Nothing. Blinking at the statue she waited for a full minute for it to change. When it didn't she tried again. Once more she moved her wand in the correct 'n' shape as she repeated firmly, "Fungifors!"
This time she was able to clearly see as the Merlin statue sat upon her desk transformed into a mushroom. Nice work Hady!

| post 3 - practicing Vera Verto BOOMBAYAH! | #PuedoPorquePiensoQuePuedo | Certified Blank and Random Person | Raventastic After a gazillion times she tried to transform the worm into a matchbox, now she moved on to the next spell. And this one seemed more interesting because she's gonna transfigure a mouse to a goblet. Hello, mouse! Ava grabbed one and pat it. Don't judge her, she just loved any kind of animals.
The young lioness tapped her wand three times to the mouse. "Vera verto." First try and.... Nothing happened. The mouse was still stay as the mouse. It hadn't transform into a goblet. One more try? "Vera Verto!" She tapped her wand three times. And still.... no goblet. Merlin, this one was more difficult than transforming the worm one. Ava was about to try again but... Where's her mouse???

| Post 4 - Fungifors (Rabbit to mushroom) Otter This World ♡ Catpurrccino ♡ Slotherin ♡ Pandamonium "Finite", Hady muttered softly with a point of her wand at the Merlin statue now a mushroom. Having had a successful attempt with going from statue to mushroom she wanted to try something harder. Which is why she once more needed to begin with the statue.
Focusing her mind on the item before her Hady pointed her wand at it as she spoke. "Lapifors." There standing before her yet again was the rabbit. Lightly moving her wand back and forth through the air in front of the rabbit made it hop around her desk causing her to smirk slightly. Yeah, this was just to cute. Seriously could she please keep this rabbit? It was fun watching it hop around in time to the movement of her wand.
Shaking her head a bit to clear her thoughts and get once more on track the brunette snake made an 'n' shape with her wand. "Fungifors," she cast softly watching the rabbit. Change rabbit. CHANGE!
Obviously willing the rabbit to transform from it's current state into a mushroom wasn't gonna happen. Running her free hand through her hair Hady stared down at the rabbit upon her desk. Again. She was going to try again and again until she got this. "Fungifors," she tried again once more making the 'n' shape with her wand. Nothing. So she did what she always did in this situation she focused more on what she wanted to make happen. Saw it in her minds eye before yet again making the proper 'n' shape with her wand and clearly stated, "Fungifors!"
And there it was! A perfectly not so cute looking mushroom. Oh, how she had liked seeing the rabbit better! Anyhow she had done it!
Statue to rabbit and back again. Statue to mushroom and back again. Then finally she had gotten the statue to rabbit then straight to a mushroom. Right now Hady was content with this and the satisfied grin on her face proved as much.

| Post 1- Practicing Fungifors Stephanoodle || Adorable Nerd Colt saw all the spells mentioned on the board and it was impressive. It seemed everyone at this school knew a lot. Now onto the activity time. FINALLY. He hated the Q & A aspect of the lesson. He was antsy to do the hands on things. He got up and went to the second group with the third-fifth years. He felt legit being with the semi older kids. He had his wand at the ready though. He heard the instructions and he was gonna use two spells. They were Lapifors and Fungifors. Why would he wanna turn anything into a mushroom. He would never use that spell but hey if that is what the teacher wanted. She was gonna get it. He took her advice by having it easier by transforming the statue into a mushroom. He was gonna do that.
So the wand movement was an N shape. He made a N shape with his wand and did a few times. Now onto practicing the incantion. So it was like fungi? Then you say fors. He got it and put it all together, "Fungi-fors.....Fungi-fors...Fungifors....Fungifors....Fungifors....Fung iforts?..." No no that wasn't it. He shook his head and concentrated. Come on Winchester. This was easy compared to durmstrang. He began to say it again. "Fungifors...fungifors....fungifors...fungifors... fungifors....fungifors!" He beamed when he got it. Now time to put it to the test.

| Post 1 - Practicing Avis ♥s her SS family l Wifey is MINE | Naughty Niffler l Whittysaur l #awkwardturtle<# Looking at the list of spells that had appeared on the board, Paulina was pretty pleased to find that she was capable of casting some of them. Naturally she had mastered the more basic of the spells, but a few of them appeared to be a little beyond her capabilities.
This class should be interesting.
After jotting the list down, she glanced at the spells she was to practice and cast. The first one appeared to be simple enough, but she wasn't as sure about the second; human transfiguration was supposed to be rather difficult - and of course that was why the spell was listed for Sixth and Seventh Years. In the end maybe she would have some awesome orange hair.
Taking out her wand, Paulina began moving it in constant 'm' shapes. Simple enough. She went faster and faster as she progressed, and soon enough she was pretty sure that she had the wand movement down perfectly. Nothing too elaborate about the letter m, so she wasn't too worried about messing that part up. The incantation also seemed pretty simple. Avis was Latin for bird, that much she knew; it made sense given what the spell was supposed to do. "Avis." She repeated the incantation a few times even if it was rather easy to say. Nothing wrong with getting plenty of practice in and annunciation was important. |

| Post 2 Avis Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna Nothing happened and as he checked the board, Benny realized his mistake. Definitely a lowercase 'm" then. A simple enough fix and then hopefully there will be little birdies in his possession all conjuered up nice and neat. The Gryffindor could see Adi had already managed it and as he took in the bunch of canaries, he couldn't help but be reminded of his three minutes as a large one of them over the summer thanks to his friend's modified canary creams.
Shaking his head to rid himself of the image...especially all the feathers...Benny switched to focusing on his spellwork and the task at hand. He practiced the wand movement over and over until he felt satisfied that it was done how it was supposed to be. "Avis!" he finally said, casting the spell incantation with the wand movement. One little bird popped...making it look so sad. "Avis!!" he cast again with more intent this time around. With some relief, there was a flock of birds to join the solo one and Benny smiled as he watched them tweet and fly around for a little while.

| #1 Arts TRANSPONSTER! Jet liked the idea of transfiguring Merlin's statue into a mushroom, but she wasn't exacly sure about the rabbit part. Wishing she only had to pick one spell, she retrieved a Merlin statue and went to stay near one of the walls to practise.
Looking back at the blackboard, she read the incantation for the first spell. 'Lapifors.' She mouthed as her gaze went to the part about the wand movement.
Holding her wand firmly, she pointed to the statue. "Lapifors." The Slytherin kept looking at the statue for a couple of seconds. Since nothing happened, she stood up straighter and looked back at the board.

| #1 : Flintifors ∞ 17 | RP entrepreneur | defies gravity | Miss George is flawless | blanket burrito lyfe Rooney had had the problem with transfiguring animals into objects before he came to Hogwarts – both his understanding of the process and his direct humanitarian feelings about doing something to animals without their consent. Now that he was a second year, he understood that it wasn’t too awful in theory and he could apologise to the animals should he need to. However, he had worms to deal with in the beginning and his personal opinion about worms was that they definitely did not require any form of apology and this wasn’t technically cruelty. Matchboxes were helpful. Worms…not so much.
Making a face as his fingers touched the worms on his desk, Roo pointed his wand and whispered the incantation as he remembered it. ”Flintifors?” No, no, definitely not. That was not it. Nothing actually happened, and he knew straight away that it was the lack of flicking and his confusion regarding the whole performance of the spell.
He took a deep breath, looked around once more and concentrated again. ”Sorry, Wiggles.” He really was. The worm was probably crying in worm language and trying to summon all of his family members for a wiggly worm uproar. His wand pointed, flicked upwards and he spoke once more; this time more determined. ”Flintifors!”
…
…….
…
Wiggles was a matchbox.
WIGGLES WAS A MATCHBOX.
Pretending that he wasn’t completely crazy and ecstatic, Rooney nodded courteously and danced around JUST in his head. No real dancing. Pretend dancing.

| #2 Arts TRANSPONSTER! Jet reread the incantation and wand movement. Looking back at the Merlin statue in front of her, she closed her eyes and took a couple of deep breaths as if it were a Yoga practice.
After a few seconds, she opened her eyes again and looked hard at the statue while pointing her wand at it. Repeating the incantation in her head twice more, she then said it out loud. "Lapifors." It was like a command, and after a second the statue started morphing into a rabbit. It took longer than she expected, but she watched the entire process.
The blonde had to hold the animal to keep it from hopping away and a small smile appeared on her face as she cuddled it and stroked its head a few times.

Again, Marsha had taken notes. Really, the main transfiguration charms and incantations that she knew had been said to start with so she had settled for taking notes and making sure that she knew what she would look up at a later date. Afterall, she really really wanted to get better at Transfiguration… and if that meant reading up and further ahead - then so be it. She’d try.
Moving to the section of the classroom for first and second years Marsha watched as Professor York got rid of their desks, and she twirled her wand in her hand until they got told what they were going to be doing for the first activity.
Flintifors and Vera Verto.
Right, they didn’t sound too difficult… but she knew that intent and passion and stuff went into transfiguration - so just because it sounded easy didn’t mean that it actually was. ”FLint-i-fors. Flin-Ti-Fors. fLint-e-fors. Flint-e-force. ” Eyebrows furrowed, she went through at least ten different variations before she frowned and looked around at her classmates. She listened out to see if they were doing any better - and she looked around for the Professor to see if she could clarify for her… Otherwise she’d never turn her worm into a matchbox.

| #3 Arts TRANSPONSTER! Jet was now ready to try the next spell, so she held the rabbit in her left arm and aimed her wand at it as she looked again at the blackboard. 'Fungifors.' She mouthed, wondering whether to try it on the rabbit or if it would be better to get it back to a statue before. "Fungifors." She finally said as she moved her wand in a n motion.
The rabbit started morphing into something else, and Jet put it on the floor and watched it. What was now in front of her was not exactly a mushroom, but it was also not a rabbit. It was, however, a white, moving odd-looking shape. It disturbed her so she quickly undid the spell, making it go back to the Merlin statue.

Beatrice was wandering around the classroom, in and out from the student groups. So far, she was very impressed with what she was seeing. Give the class a list of spells as suited to their level as possible, and watch them play around to successfully cast the spell. She had expected less success from the spells, but perhaps she had chosen too easy, or, undoubtedly, they were all just a very bright bunch of students. There was a reason there was no demonstration, and that had been for Beatrice to see how they would go, straight off the bat.
But just as she thought that, she heard someone trying to word out different sounds to Flintifors, which got Beatrice's attention. Turning, she saw it was Marsha. Beatrice walked towards her and quietly said "Try Flint-ee-FORS," and stepped back to watch.

| #4 Arts TRANSPONSTER! Once the target was back to being a statue, Jet went back to trying to concentrate. She didn't clsoe her eyes this time, she just looked intently at Merlin for a few seconds as her brain worked.
Doing an n shape movement with her wand, Jet focused on the intent. "Fungifors." And after a few seconds, there was a nice Agaricus bisporus right in front of her. The small smile made her way back to her lips as she looked at it. She knew it was basically the most common form of mushroom; not the prettiest, but her favourite nonetheless.

| Post #1 - Flintifors Queen of Typos | The OTHER OTHER Roro | WICKED is Good So they were going to practice some spells. Cool! Aldous liked using his wand in lessons and practicing. It was always better than doing it himself since here he'd be able to ask the professor if he needed anything plus would be able to see how other students were doing.
Out of curiosity he checked out the older kids' spells. One day he'd be practicing those spells. But for now he needed to stick to what the professor told them to. Flintifors was first. He did read of it and was familiar with the wand movement but he never tried it which made no difference.
And they were going to use worms. Uh-huh. He decided to practice the incantation and the wand movement then try it out on the worm.
The Ravenclaw pulled out his wand and started pointing it randomly and flicking it upwards. point and flick. Pooint and flick. Seemed pretty easy. "Flintifors," He probably needed to pronounce it more clearly. "Flin-tiiii-fors," That was better, right?

| #1 doesn't proofread tweets | #wrongaboutcereal | #siriusly? | emo to the extremo You know one thing Zander appreciated about Transfiguration? Professor York didn’t make them do nonverbals. It was perfect. Zander Adair was a happy camper. And y’know what, even given his history of transfiguration skills, or well a lack thereof, he was quite determined to get these ones right. Especially because they were only basic level. And it’s not like Zander hadn’t worked with color changing before. Remember that time he and Kevin had to fix their eyebrows? All about that color change, yo. Zander knew what he was doing.
Well, mildly.
Either way, he was starting out with the first one. Avis. Alright. Didn’t sound too complicated, but still he’d practice. Y’know, incase or whatever. To set a good example. To figure things out before he went ahead? Something like that. So he drew a couple of quick ‘m’s with his wand before looking back up to see the specifications of the spell. ”Avis” yeah not bad. Nothing too complicated. ”Av-ehs” Yeah. HE HAD THIS.
Totally about to rock this spell. Mhm.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Norah Kittredge Seventh Year | Post 2 Lil' gooz | Sarangel | Junior Dweeb Norah cast "Finite!" on her furry statue so it was good as new again, before setting up for another try. It WAS going to become a rabbit. It just was. It had to. With her wand pointed straight at the Merlin statue, which really just seemed like it was mocking her at this point, she envisioned the transformation to a rabbit once more. "Lapifors!" The statue did nothing for a split second before sprouting fur. Again. Seriously? That wasn't very nice of it. She didn't hesitate before casting again. "Lapifors!" She glared in concentration at the statue, which all of a sudden wasn't a statue at all. but a little white rabbit. AW YEAH.
She reached down quickly to pick it up and cradle it in her arms. Man. What a cutie. Could she keep it?

Marsha looked up at the Professor with a smile. ”Flint-ee-FORS.” She repeated slowly, before repeating again, ”Flintifors. OH, that sounds much better. Thank you Professor…. and am I right in saying vair-uh VAIR-toh? For when I practice it next.” Smiling, she repeated both again, just to make sure that she had both firmly in her mind. The incantation was sooo super important for Transfiguration.
Lifting up her wand she practised pointing her wand before lifting the tip of it in a flick upwards. She practised a few times before she felt ready to try for real. Standing up, she moved to pick a worm out of the container, making a slight face at the texture but really she wasn’t worried. Sha was sure she would touch weirder ingredients in potions classes over the next six years.
Placing it on the floor in front of her, she watched it for about five seconds, purely out of curiosity before she pointed her wand at it. ”Flintifors,” She said strongly, as she flicked her wand upwards. Worm to matchbox, worm to matchbox. She thought as she concentrated on the transfiguration.

| Post 2 - Flintifors Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite Blaise's eyes narrowed at the worm. It wasn't to say he expected it would do him a kindness by changing into the matchbox but at the same time....he hated the worm...for being a worm. Did that make sense? He hated it for being the worm the boy would have to cast magic on, he hated it for not having the decency to change on its own and he hated it because it required magic to make him look good. "Flintifors...Flintifors....Flin-ti-fors."
The young Gryffindor pointed his wand at the worm again--for all the good it would do and continued uttering the incantation while he flicked upward every now and then in an almost rhythmic pattern. Point. Flick. Point. Flick. Point. Flick.
Sure wish the Professor hadn't vanished his desk before he'd gotten a chance to eat his other beans. Now he'd never know what they tasted like and had nothing to distract him from this cruddy exercise. Point. Flick.

| Post #2 - Flintifors Queen of Typos | The OTHER OTHER Roro | WICKED is Good It was fair to say that both the incantation and the movement were really easy. Which brings the magic literally to the concentration part when he actually had the object to transform. And now he was so eager to do it.
So went over and took a worm from the container which the professor readied for them.
He pointed his wand at the worm, flicked it upwards then uttered, "Flintifors," Nothing. He didn't even get surprised or feel anything after the first couple of fails. He just needed to focus extra hard!
The first-year shut his eyes for a little since that helped him concentrate and shut off all the distractions around him. A moment or two passed before he opened his eyes again, pointed his wand then flicked. "Flintifors," Oh, a matchbox. A MATCHBOX! It worked! Aldous almost didn't believe his eyes but he could touch the matchbox and feel it with his own hand.
Awesome, time to move on.

| Post 2- Fungifors Stephanoodle || Adorable Nerd After practicing fungifors, the little slytherin seemed confident in testing out the spell. He was bracing himself that he will fail. He saw the small merlin statue in his sight. He hoped his first try would turn it into a mushroom. He got his wand out of his robes and held it at the ready. He did the wand movement of the N shape and said the incantation, "Fungiforts!" and nothing happened after a few seconds. That was odd. He pursed his lips and began to try again. He cleared his mind and concentrated some more. He closed his eyes and repeated the incantation in his head.
He held out his wand and pointed towards the merlin statue and said, "Fungifors!" with the wand movement of the n shape and he saw something happening. It was little like it turned and then it poofed! Awww come on! This spell didn't wanna work for him did it? The statue will be avenged.

| Post 3 - Vera Verto Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite After a lot of points and flicks, the boy felt like he'd put on enough of a show--and the motion was getting tedious--so he he moved his wand from the worm and pointed it at his rat. The poor thing looked like it might have seen its life flash before its eyes. "Don't worry, you won't even feel a thing." Literally. Just as with the worm, the boy was confident nothing would happen. In fact, instead of tapping the rat, he simply tapped his wand at the ground for three sets a piece while he feigned concentration for the spell work. "Vera Verto." If he didn't look busy, the woman might try to intervene then he might actually have to try with the rotten wand he was still trying to break. It was resilient, that much was obvious. Bloody thing didn't wanna be replaced. Too bad it didn't wanna work either. "Vera Verto." Tap tap tap. "Vera Verto."

It didn't surprise Hugo the answer he got from the professor, it was expected. Maybe he should stop greeting with 'what's up?'. Err...not going to happen BUT he sure was willingly to help them understand the vocabulary of the youth. Another thing that didn't surprise him was the flavour of the bean, he couldn't help but to chuckled at Dante's reaction "Sorry man". Aaand class began. Everyone was answering and Hugo just listening because...just because.
Finally the fun part started.
He wasn't the brightest student and always had some trouble to cast spells or to do anything else but he had the chance to turn Merlin statues into rabbits and mushrooms and obviously wasn't going to miss that opportunity. He grabbed one statue, took out his wand, pointed it directly and said "Lap...lapi...lapiforn" nothing happened. Alright, it just the first time. Again he pointed his wand to the statue and repeated the spell "Lapiforn!" again "Lapiforn!" still nothing. What the...? Couldn't he get at least a rabbit tail just for at least trying? He looked around, people was actually doing great with this practice, even the younger ones. Was he really that bad at this? Jeez. Hugo turned to look at the board, took a moment to read and now everything made sense, he was saying it wrong. Cool, so his failures didn't have to do with his inability to cast spells, just his lack of reading comprehension.

Hogwarts RPG Name: TBD Gryffindor Hogwarts RPG Name: Zara H. Bunbury-Foster Slytherin Fifth Year | post 1 Professor Pink | Mrs. Bruce Wayne | I'm on a Goat | Glitterpuff | Dumbledore's Defense Squad | BHB Flintifors. Turn a mouse into a matchbox. Just point and flick upward. It was easy enough, according to his notes. Right? Davie glanced at them one more time as he held his little mouse in his hand. He didn't want to have to do this to the mouse, but in the name of magic, by Merlin, he would.
"Flintifors, flintifors, flin-ti-fors, flintifors! FLINTIFORS! Flintifors flintifors fliiiiiiinnnnnnntiiiiiiiiiforrrrrrs." Yes. Davie had the incantation down, and the easy wand movement. Now for the poor mousie... Davie gulped and gave the little guy a pat pat, then crouched down to set him gently on the ground. He didn't want to accidentally cast the spell on his hand while he was holding the mouse, see.
Now, time to cast. Focusing on a matchbox the size of a mouse, and a mouse becoming a matchbox, and matchbox, annnnnd okay, here he was. Gonna do it now. "Flintifors!" Davie cast, pointing at the mouse and flicking his wand upward. And it... worked! Mostly! Somewhat! The mouse had shrunk a little bit and turned rectangular, with four corners. It still had a pointy nose and whiskers and a long tail though, and that wasn't the best. Hmm. Could he do it again?
"Flintifors!" Davie cast again, a little more hesitantly. The mouse lost its whiskers only, so he knew he needed to put more effort into it. "FLINTIFORS!"
There. Theeeeeere. That looked like a proper matchbox. Davie picked it up and slid the lid open and there were matches inside and everything. Excellent.

| Post 2 - Avis ♥s her SS family l Wifey is MINE | Naughty Niffler l Whittysaur l #awkwardturtle<# Figuring that she was ready to try the spell out for real, Paulina closed her eyes for a moment. She was trying to focus on exactly what she wanted to happen; she knew how important intent was, especially in a subject like Transfiguration. This stuff could be HARD. Even if the spell didn't seem to be all that difficult, one could never know for sure.
Opening her eyes when she was ready, Paulina drew an 'm' with her wand. "Avis."
The result was three birds, and that was not enough by any means. No flocks consisted of three birds. At least she wasn't the only one having a little bit of trouble, and that made her feel better. She would be able to master the spell. Maybe it just required one more go at it. She'd try and focus harder next time.
Paulina drew another 'm' with her wand. "Avis." This time she spoke clearer and with more intent. What would you know, there was a whole flock of birds to join the other three. 'Much better," she said feeling satisfied. |

| Post 4 - Vera Verto Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite "Vera Verto." And three more taps in his pseudo practice.
Blaise sighed heavily, already done saying this one too. When could he go back to Muggle Studies? Or Potions? He knew how to make his way around Potions and this time he wouldn't even get it wrong. Just anything but another magic class. It had only been a day but he was sure he liked those the least.
The sudden squeak of his rat had his mind drifting back to the lesson. It was only then that he realized he'd been tapping away absent-mindedly at the rodents tail while it munched at a crumb he'd somehow found along the ground. Oops. Must have tapped too hard. "Sorry about that little guy." He reached forward to pet the rat's head. "Know something? I bet you don't want to be a goblet anyway. Reckon you like having all your fur and your tail and all that other stuff rats have, don't you?" Who was he to deprive the poor thing just because he was bigger and therefore in control?
