Also known as the Covered Bridge, the Wooden Bridge appears derelict, connecting from the Courtyard. The appearance has been kept dated due to the natural environment surrounding it, despite attempts to improve it. Though the floor occasionally creaks beneath your feet, that is just for the effect as you can look out into the horizon from here safely.

With a small nod, Paulina took the girl's hand and shook it. "Nice to meet you, Abby." She would make sure to store it away for later on, because she wasn't always the best with names. At least no one so far had any that proved to be a tongue twister. How bad would she feel then!
"I'm Paulina. I came here from Beauxbatons." Hogwarts wasn't so bad when she started to get used to it, though. At least the people here were friendlier so far.

Plymouth had pretty much made his peace with the fact that his brother had been sorted into a different house. It was pretty lame to know that they weren't going to be around each other as much as usual, but he sort of figured it might be a good thing. Maybe. He was smart enough to know that he tended to stick to his brother's shadow and let Wesley take the lead most of the time, so maybe... maybe it was time to change that?
At the present moment, he didn't even know where his brother was. That was another thing about this school, it was very big and it made keeping track of Wesley a bit difficult. Plymouth sort of figured that as long as he didn't hear any loud explosions or didn't see anything on fire, Wes was just fine. So he decided to go out and wander the grounds and see if there was any trouble to get into on his own. Just Plymouth.

Yet another Hogwarts day with nothing to do... With Whyttyr gone and Damien doing.. well whatever he was doing at the time Nemo had literally no idea what to do with himself. He supposed there was homework to be done. But he just wanted to graduate, not be the top of his class.
Wandering the grounds sounded interesting. As much as he was hoping for just a normal year here at Hogwarts (Whatever that meant.) He was also hoping for a bit of fun.. Maybe there would be something crazy happening on the other end of this rickety old bridge, He'd nearly made it across when he almost bumped into some kid, who was just hanging out on the bridge by himself.. who does that? "Sorry, kid.. you okay?"

Welp. Plymouth had just learned something about the people who were sorted into his brother's house; they were apparently blind and that was a good thing to know. It didn't matter, though, he was used to small bumps. "Sure." He shrugged, not at all bothered by the interruption. "Not a problem." Though he was carefully considering the older boy, wondering what he was doing here.
Ethan had nothing more to say. He was sure he’s in the same boat as Professor Myers when it comes to doing good deeds. He’s a testament to that, so really, no need to prove it with words. For now, he’s just grateful that he’s got a very kind professor for one of his weaker subjects. At least a good bit of bad pressure was lifted from his shoulders.
Wait, hold up! Did he just say he was bad in Astronomy?! “I AM TOO! I mean...I always get confused with the planets and stars...although, don’t get me wrong professor, I am still at awe with the subject.” He said as he tapped his fingers against the rail. “Do you think...” he said as he trailed off, and offered a pregnant pause, “I should’ve dropped my Astronomy class? I was...kind of surprised that I got an Outstanding when it’s my other weaker subject in school.” He did slave on his Astronomy OWL, and even got Caleb to help him out. He was so surprised with the outcome, half believing that Flamsteed might be a miracle worker. “I mean...I was able to ace it, and Herbology, but...I don’t think I’m entirely ready for the NEWT level.” He continued. “I totally get what you mean professor, but...I’ve been entirely dependent on the theories of the subjects, and not really the reason behind such theories. I’m pretty sure I haven’t understood how things work entirely in those subjects. I only memorized things off of books, and never bothered to go deeper than that.” Maybe that’s how he got high grades? It was possible, yes?
Ethan remained quiet at the next topic of conversation. Maybe, he was doing all of these efforts for nothing? The seventh year had to convince himself that he should stop pleasing and proving things to his family. All of them were exceptional, but he doesn’t see himself as one, maybe that’s why he’s trying his very best to excel academically? The Slytherin nodded along, and grinned at the professor. Yes, maybe he should direct all of his efforts so he could reap the fruits of his labour for himself, and not for those whom he thinks he should please. “I will keep that in mind, professor.” He said finally breathing in some fresh air. “So...how do you find Hogwarts so far? Is now very different than when you were still in school?” A pause. “You did...graduate from here, right?” Oops? Maybe he should’ve asked that question first...
Paul agreed! He nodded--"I find it fascinating! I just...my brain doesn't mix with it." He sighed rather sadly about that. "I'll have to talk to Professor Flamsteed about familiarizing myself with his subject matter." It'd been YEARS, though, since he'd looked at Astronomy stuff. Paul thought on the question poised to him..."I think...if you struggle with it? Probably so...but..it's too late now, isn't it?" he sighed a little.
"A lot of students get by like that...it's not the right way but..." he shrugged. "Sometimes you have to do what you have to do... to get by." It was unfortunate. "I advocate learning theories...and not just memorizing..." he said wisely.
Paul nodded...he hoped the boy would take his words to heart. It was important, he thought, to please yourself...and not worry about others. "I did graduate from here, yes. I was a Ravenclaw, though..." he smiiiiiiled fondly at the memories.

Was this kid hurt? Or just upset? Hmmm Nemo had to ask himself why he cared at all. He didn't know this kid. "Are you all right?" He figured why not just ask the kid. If he wanted to be all weird and quiet that wasn't Nemo's fault.
For now he just stood still on the bridge, awaiting the kid's reply. The wind blew a little bit so The seventh year shoved his hands into his pockets. He needed to be warm.

Or the place even higher than the horizon for him…
He looked back at her after asking if the cat was hers and the look he got made him look somewhere else again. Unluckily that was the ground and he saw the drop from in between the bars that held up the railing. He closed his eyes and counted before opening them. “Sorry, just trying to find a topic of conversation…” he mumbled , pretending that his little freak out in his mind hadn’t happened. Heights man. Ewww.
And then that look was back again as he held up his hand and this time he raised an eyebrow perfectly. “I don’t have germs or anything” he laughed as the girl shook his hand lightly. It wasn’t even a shake , she just took it for a second and then let go. He turned around now, leaning his back against the railing and folded his arms. “Nice to meet you Brooklyn” he wasn’t sure if that was the truth or not. He sighed. “Do you want to be left alone or don’t you mind my company?” They could talk about what new hair color he could try next!
Brooklyn hardly cared what the boy who had interrupted her alone moment felt. It was rather obvious he was confused by her reactions, or even uncomfortable. That wasn’t her problem though. She hadn’t asked him to talk to her. That had been his choice, and she didn’t feel like she needed to be the one to worry about coming up with topics. He wasn’t really trying very hard either, but then he hadn’t left. It was rather annoying. She would have much rather he made up his mind as to what he wanted.
At least she figured he’d gotten the point of her look. It meant he wasn’t completely stupid, or way too optimistic like some people. As in, way too convinced that some day she might change her mind, when she wasn’t planning on it. She hardly noticed the second or two of her current companion’s fear, either. She hadn’t really even been looking at him anymore, although she’d turned her head slightly in response to his mumbled words. He hadn’t really been doing that good a job at it if that had been what he’d been trying to do. Not when she still figured it was obvious Tywin was her cat. He was regal like her after all.
The raised eyebrow hardly caused a reaction either. She wasn’t about to be cowed by something like that, and it was proving to be rather amusing keeping him on his toes. Keeping him unsure of what would happen next, and she’d only raised an eyebrow herself at his comment about germs. That hadn’t been her reason at all. It was just personal space. “Nice to meet you too,” she replied after another moment, turning back to lean her arms on the railing and look out at the landscape. “I don’t care either way.” She really didn’t. He could stay there if he wanted, or leave. It wasn’t as if she owned the bridge, or anywhere in the school grounds.

Will he talk to Professor Flamsteed to ask more about Astronomy? Maybe not. Ethan just wants it to be over and done with. As long as he pass his NEWT on that one, then he can say goodbye to it forever. Sure, the planets and stars are fascinating to look at, but the how’s and why’s of the subject was just beyond his understanding. What was more interesting though, was the fact that Professor Myers was a Ravenclaw and that he had a hard time with Astronomy. There he thought that the subject was perfect for the Eagle House. He guessed that that wasn’t the case entirely. Maybe Astronomy was just meant for certain people…and he’s definitely not one of them.
Was it too late? Yes, definitely. “But Herbology sounds promising to me. I mean, I find the subject hard to understand, but I just know there’s hope for me. My former professors were very helpful, knowing that I was struggling.” And he was sure that Myers won’t be any different. “So, why not give it one last shot. I am, after all, determined to pass all 12 subjects again.” Ahem. His Slytherin is showing, eh?
“And I suppose we’ll be going beyond theories with your classes, right?” Ethan enjoyed the practical portion of his past Herbology lessons. The activities made the lesson more interesting. “I mean, activities help me retain some of the important information.” And he guessed that he’s not the only one who benefits from it.
A Ravenclaw, huh? It was kind of, hard to believe it because Professor Myers seem to be too kind to be a Ravenclaw. Apparently, the sorting hat saw something in him that made him a perfect fit to belong with the Eagles. “And I suppose you had a grand time being one, Professor.” Ethan matched the man’s smile with his very own. “I am going to miss Hogwarts after this term though.” He added, as the smile on his face started to fade.

Paul nodded. "Headmistress Truebridge, right? I know she was in here previously--and a many good few professors, too. I hope to provide stability, at least." Like, staying long than one term so that the students would really grasp what they learned from him. Having a new professor every year was probably so tough for the kiddos. "Well, I have hopes for you, too, m'boy. I'll think you'll be just fine if you put in the work and effort!" Hopefully....
Oh.
The older man's eyebrows SKYROCKETED. "ALL TWELVE? My boy! That is far too many--FAR too many! How do you have to TIME to take all twelve classes?!" he was a little worried, now. Was the boy overworking himself?! "I only got 9 NEWTs...because I could only take nine NEWT level classes..."
Merlin, Ethan was a little crazy, wasn't he?!
"Oh yes. A great many activities. Some theory but...mostly hands-on stuff." To learn the way of the plants, you must ACTIVELY involve yourself with them. Pffft to people who thought all could be learned from simply...a textbook.
Aww. Right, the boy WAS a seventh year after all. "You'll be ready to leave when you have to, I promise. Everyone is. It's time to start your journey, your life...take what you've learned and go on to do great and brilliant things, I'm sure..."

Putting on her favorite jumper, Ava took a break from her homework and decided to walk around the ground. So far she did enjoy Hogwarts. Some of the lessons were fun and practical, the Professors were nice, and others were great. But there's too much homework. Blah.
Usually when she was bored like this, she would play basketball of football at the playground. But since her left shoulder was injured and still on a splint, the lioness couldn't do that until she was fully recovered. So she just walked across the wooden bridge, enjoying the breeze of fall.

Cosgrach had his favourite Quidditch jumper too, and was out on the grounds watching the students. It was a pleasant day. He liked such days. Everyone was relaxed and happy. Made everything easier.
Walking slowly, he came across that first year whose name he still didn't know and saw a... different jumper on her? Was that... a new Quidditch team? Chelsea? That was a district in London last time he checked...
"Hey," he greeted her, "what's the jumper?" What was Chelsea?

So what was she doing here exactly? Watching the birds, enjoying the magnificent view of Hogwarts from this bridge. Ava just didn't understand why some people preferred to lock themselves in a room and doing such a boring thing. Yeah, she talked about Theodore Burton, her twin brother. No matter how hard she literally dragged him out but still, he decided to stay.
She was about to continue walking when someone greeted her. ASDFGHJHJKL, WAS THE THE GRUMPY FORGETFUL CULLODEN THE POTIONS MAN?? Wha... what? Why? Did she do something wrong? "Hello... Professor." She grinned sheepishly and greeted him. Her jumper? Oh, it seemed like he didn't know about muggle sports. "It's a muggle football team, sir." She answered and beamed. Man, she missed watching the team on a match again. Dima often brought her to watch football live from the stadium though he's a supporter of other team. "Your jumper is also nice, is that your favorite Qudditch team?"

Football... football... hmm... Cosgrach had no idea what that was, but he pretended that he did. So after a second or so, he exclaimed an "Aaah!" as if the realisation illuminated his face and he nodded to himself with a small smile. "Football, right." He was great at this sort of pretending, so he bet she didn't even suspect him. Mhmm.
He grinned and pulled at his own jumper then, and nodded. "Yep. Montrose Magpies." Proud moment here. "3 of my former students play there now, actually." Y'know, like, he taught these kids. Potions and Quidditch had no relation whatsoever to make him proud, but this was irrelevant too. He had contributed to them as a professor...

Wasn't he such a great one?
It seemed like the Potions man didn't know about football. That's okay, she didn't judge. Most wizards weren't really interested with muggle sports. "Do you play sport, sir?" The young lioness asked.
She did recognize the logo: Montrose Magpies. Ava also followed Quidditch besides the muggle sports. She had her own favorite team; Tutshill Tornadoes. "Really?" Her brown eyes widened. She only knew Alec Summers used to be a Head Boy when he was still a student in here. "Were they good students in your class, Professor?" She was just... curious. Not all athletes were dumb, that's her opinion. Come on, even Alec Summers was the Head Boy so it meant that he's a good student, right?
Yeah, Ava Burton was a big fan of him.

A ball from Baxter's office? Check!
A partner for this activity? Check!
A spot to complete the activity? Check!
Adi tossed the bight blue ball up in the air as he made his way to the Wooden Bridge, his absolute favourite place around on the Grounds. He was awaiting one Rooney Bronwyn who happened to be his partner. Maybe that's why Adi had selected a blue ball? The kid was a Ravenclaw, you know.
Humming quietly, the seventh year continued tossing the ball up and catching it. Tossing and catching, tossing and catching. And humming, too, as he awaited the second year.

After agreeing to be Adi's partner for the charms homework when they had physically bumped into one another outside Professor Baxter's office, Rooney found himself wandering down to where they agreed to meet with a box of sandwiches. Cut into triangles, without the crust and ready for eating once they were done with their stuff. Their homework practicing. When he finally got there, Roo smiled over at the Hufflepuff and waved lightly. "Good choice in place, Adi!"
The second year put the box onto the bridge before him and said something about how it was lunch for after this or when they got peckish. He just hoped that Adi didn't have any allergies.
"Do you want to start either side of the bridge, or closer and work our way backwards?" His own idea was to start either side of the bridge so that they wouldn't have to worry about losing their ball if any slowing or banishing went askew.

And there was the little fellow! The older guy waved and grinned back. "Hey, Rooney!" High five, kiddo? Just because high fives were fun! "What you got in the box?" Curious. Adi was curious as usual. "Oh, thanks! This is one of the best places ever!'' No mind it was old and dilapidated. Hehe.
Hmmmm. "Good question. Let's see...'' Which would be the best choice? No, which would be more fun? Because they were here do enjoy themselves, too. "Let's start at either side. I'll be easier to meet back here at the middle, anyway.'' Adi jammed his finger over his shoulder. "I'll go that way and can throw the ball at you first.'' He grinned at his Claw friend then jogged over to his end of the bridge.
"Ready?'' he called, throwing the ball and catching it again. When Rooney gave the go ahead, the Puffer heaved the ball with his left hand. Incoming, Rooney!

The younger lad jumped to high five the tall one and nodded. This really was one of the best places. A really good view, albeit a little creaky. Nonetheless, it was a good view to draw, watch and detail for his notebook. "Sandwiches. I thought we might get a little hungry." That, and he had been testing if there were a perfectly correct angle to cut sandwiches that positively influenced the taste or appearance.
Okay. They were getting straight to this. Moving a little further back, Rooney strained to listen to the Hufflepuff's voice. "A little louder, Adi???" He wasn't a dog, and he certainly couldn't pinpoint every syllable from this sort of distance. But he knew the ball was coming his way - of course too late. The ball whizzed over his shoulder and the Ravenclaw ran after it, shouting his apologies back to the other male before tossing the ball in the direction the other boy was standing.

Oh, man! Rooney was extra awesome! Sandwiches! No doubt they would be hungry when they were done here. "Excellent idea! I've got the Chocolate Frogs for dessert.'' Two Froggies were deposited on Rooney's box. The would have their own Feast when it was all over.
...................
OOH! Rooney hadn't heard him! Adi needed to put on his man voice a little more. Hehe. "SORRY!" How was that? Did the kiddo hear him a little better now? "Don't worry about it. I bet you'll get it next time.'' Yep! He always had confidence in persons and everything. He still couldn't figure out if it were a flaw or not. Oh, well.
INCOMING BLUE BALL!
"Depulso!" Cue the sweeping wand movement AND the intent with the silent incantation.
He imagined feeeeeling the ball in his hands.
Apparently he was not so focused. Alright, he wasn't, okay? Adi was thinking of sandwiches and Froggies. This cost him big time when the ball unceremoniously smashed into his face. Good thing it wasn't one of those balls that caused injury but his face did feel a bit stingy like. Especially the nose area.
"We'll both get it next time.'' With a wink, he tossed the ball back to Rooney.

Plymouth took a split moment to seriously consider if this older boy was deaf. However, he quickly decided against that theory, after all, he was far too well spoken to be deaf, with what little he did say, anyway. But had he really not heard him when he spoke? Was he expecting Plymouth to fall all over himself apologetically for being in this spot? "I'm fine. Like I said before, no problem." This time, he punctuated his reply with a friendly nod. See? No problems here.
And if this guy was deaf then he did a really good job at communicating. Maybe not so much the other way around, but still.

Nemo kinda looked at this kid like he was rude. What was his issue? Here Nemo was trying to be a nice guy. This is why he found being nice a waste of time. People never appreciated it.
"Right. Well that's good. Just making sure it wasn't my fault you have that look on your face." Grumpy child. Ugh. He couldn't wait to be done with this school and all the children in it. Whatever, The Lion bundled up a little better and prepared to continue across the bridge, maybe adventure awaited elsewhere and maybe someone would come along and teach this kid some Manners.

Rooney's eyes widened and he BEAMED. "Chocolate frogs and sandwiches! You have a deal!" And just the thought of that all was definitely an incentive to get this done. To practice and to be perfect. At least Adi was older and if anything went drastically wrong, it would all be figured out by him. Older student AND a prefect. Things never went wrong when a prefect was around. Even more so if Miss Sophie Brown was there. SHE was the definition of perfect.
Not even the missing the ball unsettled him because Roo was eager to prove to Adi that he could do this without messing up again. He felt bad that the Hufflepuff had missed it too, and was certain that he hadn't thrown it properly. As the ball came spinning his way, Rooney brought his wand up and gave it a little movement. "Aresto Momentum!!!" ...??? Had it worked? His eyes had actually closed on impact, but he smiled as he opened them and was able to take it right into his palm, holding it up above his head in a triumphant pose.
Once it was definitely known that he had succeeded, he tossed the ball right back in Adi's direction.

"Iiiiiiiiiiiincomiiiiing!!!"
Come on, Rooney!
Adi had that repeating in his head as the ball zoomed towards the second year. But yet he need not worry! The little guy had done it! "WAY TO GO, ROONEY!'' Was he shouting? He didn't particularly care. The other guy deserved a good hearty cheer. Gosh, he loved it when the young ones succeeded at what they were doing.
And then the ball was on it's way back to him! "I got it! I got it!'' Cue the sweeping motion and intent again. "Depulso!" One moment the ball was making a beeline for him, it vanished and the the next, it was safely in Adi's hands. WOOOOOT!
"Nice toss! But it's back to you now!'' The Puffer heaved the ball at his friend.
Norah held a flask of her completed potion in one hand, all mixed up with some bits of the animal of her choice: a kangaroo. Professor Culloden's homework was really a blessing in disguise, 'cause who wouldn't want to be able to bounce as high as a kangaroo? It was probably the first and last time she'd ever say something like that about homework, so hopefully he'd appreciate it, especially after the horrible homework last term. Or maybe it was the term before. She was trying to forget that all the horrid angriness with Cinna had ever happened at all, so the term number didn't matter. All that mattered was that this time was going to be TOTALLY AWESOME. Hopefully it'd last for hours and hours and hours so she could bounce all around the whole entire school. Culloden had said that was based on ability, though, so maybe that hope was unrealistic. Whatever. Realism was lame anyways.
She stood at the mouth of the wooden bridge and pinched two fingers over her nostrils as she downed a dose of the potion. Here goes nothing.

Adi did a lot of shouting when he was excited and he was also very excited and enthusiastic with his physical movements. Rooney didn't mind that, it was very much like his mother. Which was expected as both were Hufflepuffs. Not that Mama told people that if they asked. She said she was a Ravenclaw, mainly so that Roo didn't feel like he wasn't really her son. She said it wasn't that, but he was sure of it. He clapped for the Hufflepuff boy on the bridge when he caught the ball and got himself ready.
Wand raised, the second year confidently moved his wand and spoke the incantation as firm and with direction as he possibly could. "Aresto Momentum!" And so the ball slowed down in speed, just as he had wanted it to and slow it went straight into his hand. The Ravenclaw raised his hand and the ball up, giving himself a cheer.
"GET READY. GET SET. DO YOUR THING!!" And so the ball HURTLED back to Adi. HURTLED.
