| | |  The Spirit Room
The door to a mysterious door on the fifth floor swings open to reveal a dank and dusty room which has clearly been vacant for years. White sheets cover the furniture, cobwebs fill every nook, cranny, corner, and everything in between, including a cup filled with wooden potion stirrers. The heavy scent of mildew permeates every aspect of the room. For some reason, all you can do is stand and stare inside.
Though the door swung open easily, a strange barrier once again prohibits the living from entering this room. The barrier was put in place by Marcella Riddle the term after her unfortunate demise and protected the peace and quiet of the ghosts still residing at Hogwarts. The room has on off since laid quietly in the years since the young Hogwarts ghosts reattained their bodies.

AJ is her name, and going on adventures is her game. It would be dumb to think that she had explored every inch of the castle. In fact she was pretty sure that things changed every year. It sure would explain a lot.
As she made her way about the fifth floor randomly, she saw a door that she was pretty sure she had never been in before. Well, that simply wouldn't do. The lion looked to her left and then to her right. Sometimes you needed to make sure the coast was clear. For all she knew there was some new rule about this door, and well... AJ wasn't always one for following the rules. It was a feat jus to get her to read the new changes.
Pushing the door open, she immediately looked around and tried to enter. What? Why couldn't she take a step? And what was that smell? Not to mention that all of a sudden she was transfixed. AJ was staring off into space, and couldn't stop.

Not sure what to do with the bit of extra time on her hands today Hady ventured off on her own journey through the castle. Most of the time it was a misguided journey and she never really had a clue as to where she'd end up or whom she'd come across. Which was what made it fun!
Just like today. This was how she had found herself wandering down the fifth floor corridor, her hands in her pockets and humming a random tune under her breath. In a world of her own Hady almost didn't even notice her friend a few feet away until she nearly walked into the girl. Stopping in her tracks she tilted her head at Angel and then glanced at the doorway. "Uh, you alright?," she questioned quietly not getting why she was just standing there. Was something the matter? Did she miss something?

Being able to stop staring was a bit of an understatement. Really, she wasn't even aware that she was doing so. It all just felt normal to her. Well, you know, her kind of 'normal' anyways. How much time had passed? She had no idea. Standing and staring was about as exciting as it was getting right now.
Then...
She heard a voice. As much as she wanted to turn her head in the direction of the person that was speaking to her, she couldn't. Would she be able to snap out of it? "It's so... so... mesmerizing," she said, sill not looking at the girl. "Come look." | |

At first Hady didn't think Angel had even heard her. Or maybe she had heard her but didn't know what to say. What was in that room that was so breathtaking?
Opening her mouth to ask what was happening again she promptly shut it when the older girl finally spoke. It was mesmerizing? What was? Now Hady was even more curious about what her friend was staring at. When she was told to have a look she did just that.
Taking the few remaining steps to the doorway she peered just over Angel's shoulder since she hadn't moved. Hazel eyes taking in the sheet covered furniture Hady blinked a few times. "The spirit room?" What was so mesmerizing about this. They'd been in this room a few terms back for a Halloween party. Granted it had looked different but it was still the same room. "What's so special about this room?"
Maybe Angel knew more about the room then she did and she could tell her about it.

The spirit room. Yes. Aubrey did a slight head nod to show that she was confirming what the younger girl was saying. Didn't she feel that? AJ couldn't take her eyes off of the room. Why was that? The next question that Hady asked stumped her. "I dunno..." she couldn't explain it. Not at all. AJ had a better question though. "Why can't we get in here?" Surely it wasn't just her that couldn't cross over into the room. Then it hit her... sort of. This was a spirit room so maybe that was why she - a human- couldn't get in. OMG. She was a total Ravenclaw. She could be dead (heh) wrong about this too. It wouldn't be the first time. "I have to get into this room." It was calling out to her, and just knowing that she couldn't made her want to that much more. Were there was a will, there was a way. At least that sounded good to her. So... got any ideas, Hady?

She didn't know? Yet here AJ was standing in the doorway and staring blankly into the room. Now Hady really was at a loss for words and thoughts on this matter. Before she could say anything more the older girl at her side spoke again.
"Well from what I remember about the room we can't enter because we're alive. Only ghosts can get inside...except that one time the Halloween party was held inside there." A strange but none-the-less fun party that had been. AJ had gone to it right? Hady thought she remembered seeing her there but it was years ago already and everyone had been in costume.
"I'm not sure we can," she admitted with a small shrug of her shoulders. Or maybe there was a way and it just needed to be figured out.

Oh... right... ghosts wanted peace or something to that extent. AJ wasn't really sure, but she didn't like not being able to do something. A girl like her didn't take too kindly to those things. Not at all. "Duh. I do remember the party." She smacked the heel of her hand on her head. How could she forget? This room was making her crazy. Yup. She was going to put all the blame on that.
A light bulb went off in her head. "That means there must be a spell on it." It was the only thing that made sense. How else would they be able to have a party there? A party for humans that is. "There has to be a way." Only thing was... she wasn't a Ravenclaw, and that would be extra helpful at a time like this. Shaking herself out of a daze, she walked back, and with a running start she charged at the door.
AJ flew back and landed on her butt. That didn't go as planned. Not at all.

Hady cracked a small grin watching the older girl smack herself in the forehead. Blonde moment maybe? Anyway she did remember the party now so that was a good thing.
"Probably. I'm not sure it's one we would know or could figure out." It was probably some very old warding spell or something. Not one any of the students could just disable.
Though AJ was right. There was always a way to everything. So this room just like anything had to have a way inside. Other then being a ghost that is. "I'm sure there is but as for how, I really don't know." That stunk to say out loud! It was the truth though. She had no clue how to get into the room.
Watching her older friend Hady raised an eyebrow curiously. No way? She wasn't going to?
She was. She did. Hady frowned as the other girl slammed into the doorway only to be thrown backwards onto her bum. Ow. "Are you okay?"
