The Seating Area Outside Professor Flamsteed's Office
Several comfortable looking black leather sofa chairs await you in the small nook outside of Professor Flamsteed's office. The walls are bare save for a framed magazine cover and a large map on the wall opposite of the sofa chairs. Since the Astronomy professor keeps his door shut at all times, you will need to knock if you wish to speak with him. You could try to remove the protective charms placed on the door and break in, but that would not be very wise on your part as you would walk away with lime green eyebrows that won't fade for days and hair growing out of your ears down to the floor. While you wait to be invited in, why not read the latest issue of one of the many astronomy magazines stacked neatly on the wooden coffee table? StarDate Observer or Meteorite Mementos anyone? Do be careful as you take a seat, though. Despite the valiant efforts of students last term you are likely to walk away with a sparkly pink bum thanks to some left over glitter wedged between the cushions.
OOC: Please post in this thread FIRST, by having your character knock on the door. When the professor is ready to invite you in, I will post here letting you know and then you can post in the office. You may RP with friends here, but please try to keep the chit chat to a minimum. Thank you!
Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite
Don't bang on the door Blaise, no. Don't make incessant knocks that would be annoying to most people. Being eager to get the cuffs off was not a good enough excuse--'cept it actually was and his wrist was starting to chaff and he would like to be his person again please.
Turns out, he could have been stuck to worse people than Four Eyes and the kid wasn't the absolute worst in the entire Hogwarts Castle but that didn't mean he wanted to spend FOREVER attached to him.
Like they'd said, they checked the tree at lunch and with great luck his notepad was THERE so Blaise was perfectly happy and ready to give a speech and not be in detention and not be a grumpy child that disliked his company. Wasn't it GRAND when everything worked for the better? Four Eyes got to keep his glasses and Blaise got his notes back so one knock...just one....two--it was more of two....THREE knocks. There. Just the three. He was done. Did Davie wanna knock too? YES?

YES DAVIE DID WANT TO KNOCK TOO.
Turned out that Blaise wasn't THAT big of a bully, and he was pretty agreeable as long as you didn't take his stuff or hide his notebook, and it also turned out that literally no one wanted to read that boring ol' notebook anyway, and also WAS IT TIME TO GET OUT OF THESE HANDCUFFS OR WHAAAAAAAAAT?
He raised his hand in between Blaise's knocks so Admiral Airey got at least six knocks on his door. Were they eager? Just a bit, maybe.

Airey was lounging in his office nonchalantly checking his sundial watch every now and then to double check that his mental countdown was indeed accurate.
"5...4...3..."
BLAST. He was two seconds off it seemed. He would have to examine it after he was done with the two he was expecting to be on the other side of that door.
"Greetings, gentlemen," he saluted the two as he swung open the door. "Would you like to come in and we'll get started?"
Heh.

Since her father's murder, Sophie Brown had been going a bit overboard trying to sugarcoat things and convince herself that everything was okay. Because it was, wasn't it? The world hadn't ended. She'd been gone for a week for mourning and funeral purposes, but she was back now, and she was certain that everyone had heard by now why she was gone, so she had to work really hard to make sure people still treated her the same and didn't use a pitying attitude with her. She just wanted to have fun and make people laugh and make the most of her last term at Hogwarts, okay? None of those sad faces or depressing tones or overabundance of offers of hugs from people. No, she was fine.
She had to be.
So she had been taking excessive liberties to make everyone think things were okay. A lot of laughter here, a lot of playfulness and teasing here, all the smiles she could muster, and all the fun at every turn. She didn't like to linger much - she'd just been jumping from one train of thought to the next, one distraction after another, and make sure no one had time to pity her or tell her how sorry they were. Nope, she was just gonna keep moving.
And currently, her choice of distraction was to bother Flammy.
"Admiralllll," she called as she did her usual knocking rhythm on the door. "S'Captain Brown." A fair warning in case he needed to hide his graduation present for her or something. Heeeehehehe.

Well, there certainly was no mistaking that voice. Especially after she confirmed his suspicions a moment later. Although the sing-songy tone was a bit...shall we say...perplexing?
Setting his research down on his desk, Airey gave Pebbles and Boulder two pats on the head each and then strolled over to the door to stretch his limbs a little.
"Miss, Captain, Brown," he greeted upon opening the door. "To what do I owe this pleasure?"
Was everything...alright?

The memo from his Head of House had been haunting, absolutely haunting.
Of course by now he had begun thinking of what he might like to do with his future, he had even taken measures to ensure his success. This involved not only being more engaged in classes, and completing homework and assessment tasks, but he was also catching up with the subjects he had... not tried his best in. All of this in addition to his training with Sabel. It had been Sabel's message that had reached him first, and motivated him to turn over a new leaf where his education was concerned, but this appointment was the thing that would give him direction.
A few minutes early to his appointment, Zeke knocked on the door regardless, so that his Head of House knew he was here, and stood to the side, leaning against the wall.
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
He knew that his career talk day would come sooner or later so he was not surprised at all to find a shaped piece of paper landing on his lap during breakfast one day. So with the paper in his pocket , Yoongi entered the seating area of his Head of House a couple of minutes before his appointment.
Of course he had thought about what he wanted to do after Hogwarts. But it was difficult finding that one thing he liked. He knew what he was good at and what not though so that could help. He past the wall with the framed magazine cover and he chuckled. It was still one of his ambitious to get on the cover of a magazine. He continued walking until he reached the office door and knocked on it, waiting at the door itself until the Professor opened up.
The morning would of been an option, except Abbi knew her chances of arriving on time in the early hours would of been minimal. Fair enough, her slacking wasn't half as near as bad as what it had been once a upon a time, but she still took a while to get up. More so, she wasn't sure she wanted to come talk to Flamsteed at all. It wasn't him that was the problem, more herself. If it was up to her she'd be a total couch potato by day and party animal by night for the rest of her life. That wasn't going to be an option, was it?Maybe she cared more about her future that she realized.
After a quick knock on the door, the seventh year took a seat and began twiddling her thumbs.

Frankie had been putting off meeting with Professor Flamsteed. Normally the blond would have wanted to get whatever it was out of the way, but he was dreading the subject matter of the memo that had been sent. OWLs, careers, adulthood, the future. There were more urgent things to worry about, like what he was going to have for supper that night and all of that Animagus stuff he had to get reading. Clearly there was no time for thinking about the distant future. He'd go see Professor Morgan for that if he cared to know.
Nonetheless, the Gryffindor had managed to get himself the last possible spot available to him to meet with his Head of House. He figured it would be better for him to show up at the office rather than force the professor to go looking for him. Frankie hadn't landed himself in detention yet this term, so it was best to keep it that way.
Having surprisingly arrived a few minutes early, Frankie knocked on the door. He stood and stared blankly at the map, not particularly interested in it. His mind was working at full speed so he had something prepared for what he and the professor were soon going to discuss. What did he want to do? That was a question he himself wasn't ready to answer. He had just turned 15 a week ago, okay? Thinking about adulthood was scary.
Nemo decided he would go to this meeting with his Head of House, the man usually seemed friendly enough and what could it hurt? Honestly Nemo was positve that he was going to take a year or so off and just enjoy being with Whyttyr, not to mention moving to New York. He wanted to see a bit more of the world before he decided what he wanted to do and luckily he had the money to do so.
He knocked on the door and was right on time, because it was super rude to be late to something when someone was trying to help you. The Seventh Year wouldn't make his mother look like she'd taught hum nothing of manners by showing up late.
Just when he was about to take a seat to wait, his eys spotted a bit of pink glitter in the seat. He was not sitting in that. He would stand, thank you.
Text Cut: Yesss, I'd think he knows. If Botros didn't tell the staff, definitely from the Prophet or something.

Merlin, it hurt.
Reality, that is.
Reality hurt and it just so happened to arrive like a slap in the face. Or like a million and one slaps in the face. Actually, Zander felt like he was still being slapped in the face. Honestly, was this really necessary? He knew he wasn't going to uni. Didn't even apply. So what was the point? What was there left to talk about?
All he needed was to find a job. He'd be set.
Or maybe... He could always try to talk Flamsteed into letting him stay at Hogwarts for another few years? He could be a new Gryffindor House ghost to team up with Sir Nick. Except, he wouldn't be a ghost. So he'd just be... A house mascot? Perfect.
Knock, Knock.

Manila folder in hand with Mr. Zeke's name on it, the Astronomy professor waited on the other side of the door watching his sundial watch tick away the remaining seconds until the fourth year's appointment time.
Music to his ears. The Gryffindor was early.
Opening only a few seconds after the knocks, Airey grinned down at the young man. "Good day, Mr. Zeke. Hope you don't mind my moving our little meeting to the astrophysics laboratory," he greeted. He figured that a change of scenery may be in the boy's best interest, given that the astronomer's office was his scene of authority and he had had to flex that authority upon Mr. Zeke twice. "I trust you remember the way?"

Coming back from the laboratory after finishing up with Mr. Zeke, Airey re-entered his seating area and was greeted with the site of the back of Mr. Hyland's head. Chuckling under his breath, the astronomy quietly approached him from behind.

She was only five minutes late. Good enough?
Was his sundial watch not working or was Miss Campbell late? A rhetorical question as the man knew that his watch was in perfect working order, by the way.
Sitting at his desk with a manila folder placed ceremoniously in the middle of it, the astronomer drummed his fingers against the dark wood while his eyes bore into the door.
FINALLY. A knock.
Bounding across the room like an eager cruppy, the astronomer swung open the door and looked down at the seventh year. "You know, Miss Campbell, were this an interview for a job or university acceptance, your tardiness may have just ensured your rejection," he stated in an eerily casual tone. "Now, if you will follow me we will hold our meeting in the Innovation Lounge seeing as Boulder just went down for a nap and Pebbles has recently come to prefer sleeping on the sofa there."

Airey had fully prepared for Mr. Paton, including leaving some cleaning supplies out strategically on the floor in front of his mecha cabinet in case the fourth year felt like showing off his cleaning skills again. Truth of the matter was that they were laid out for himself as his late afternoon project before dinner.
Hearing the knock, Airey let the cleaning supplies be and snatching a folder from atop his desk and swung open the door.
"Mr. Paton, come in," he nodded while stepping to the side to allow the young man entry.

Bright and early and first appointment of the day. Airey was rather impressed with the young man opting to take an early slot and just hoped Mr. Grimm would not show up at his office in his pajamas.
"Good morning, Mr. Grimm," Airey saluted the seventh year, chuckling under his breath at the look his sofa was being given. SUPER NORMAL.
Super normal his FOOT.
Knowing Miss Brown's situation, Airey was almost instantly able to recognize what the Head Girl was doing. It was something had had done himself the day he woke up in the hospital and learned his dreams were crushed. Not to say that his emotions that day were anything compared to what the young woman standing before him had gone through, because that would be insulting to Miss Brown, but it was a stage of grief. Or possible one.
While he did appreciate her not drowning his seating area in tears, this felt wrong to the man. But then again he was rather rubbish when it came to matters of the heart.

I mean, this was her future that was going to be discussed and the only thing she really knew for sure was that she was going to uni. What she would be studying was still a huge question mark. Sure, she had considered a bunch of different things but.........
Then again, that's what this meeting was about, no? So, she knocked on the door, her nerves lessened slightly but still there.

Ben had received the starship notice during one of his private study session without Adi in the common room. He didn't have to look inside to have any clue as to who it was from because there was only one person...especially one staffer...who was as connected to the design as his head of house. Flamsteed had wanted to see about meeting with him about his future plans, a topic that was filled with a lot of nerves. Interestingly enough his private life was coming together far more easier then his academic one.
If only the owl arrived.
So he made his appointment, choosing mid-morning to try and avoid nerves and sickness for the topic at hand. Then at the allotted time, made his way up to the astronomy tower and the professor's office. Arriving at the seating area outside, Benny crossed to the door and politely knocked before stepping back and awaiting a response from the man who should be inside awaiting him.
Of course she wasn’t nervous. She hadn’t had the best year this year sure she’d been keeping up with classes but the stress from the spiders last year had gotten to her. Sleeping had been nearly impossible. Every little creak of a floorboard or tap at a window had made her skin crawl and left her like a zombie for most of the term.
But there weren’t spiders right, not right now at least. Taking a deep breath she made her way over to Professor Flamsteed’s seating area and took a step right up to the door to his office where she immediately knocked.
What do I want to do? She asked herself again as she had asked many times that year…did she want to go work with her aunt? Or forge her own path like the confident woman he could be. Yeah sure Fashion and everything was something almost expected – but couldn’t she just go quietly and pursue education like she had been planning to do back in fifth year?

The sooner she got this over with the better. So choosing to very first time slot. Since she already knew what she was doing. Australia, fashion school to be a fashion designer, start her own label and eventually her own fashion house. Hopefully, this was the plan.
She was going to waste her or Ariey's time. Well not to much of it anyway she could just stay around long enough to tell the professor what her plans were.
So she headed to professor Ariey's office five minutes before 10 o'clock. To her relief she was the only one there. Good this shouldn't take long at all. She tapped on the door in very happy beat.

Unlike previous students who the astronomer had spent the majority of his time prior to their meeting going over recent test scores and their academic history including extracurriculars, Airey had spent his time practicing pronunciation.
Pronunciation of Miss Xanthopoulos last name, to be precise.
Not that he was NOT prepared for their meeting, but he had botched it up far too many times and maybe once...just ONCE he could get it right.
Hearing the knock, Airey grabbed her folder and flung it open. "Good day, Miss Xan-tho-po-u-los," he greeted, saying her last name a hair unnaturally slow but NOT botching it up this time at least. "If you don't mind, I would like to move our meeting to the Innovation Lounge," he continued as he gestured back out of his waiting area.

Arriving at the seating area outside, Benny crossed to the door and politely knocked before stepping back and awaiting a response from the man who should be inside awaiting him.
You could tell a lot by the manner with which a person knocked on a door and there were several students who had rather distinct ones. The most distinct, however, had belonged to Mr. Hirase who wasn't so much knocking as he was trying to break down the door. This knock, however, spoke volumes about who was on the other side.
Approaching the door with the seventh year's file tucked under his arm and Pebbles on her leash being dragged behind, the astronomer smiled at Mr. Atreyu as he stood in the open doorway. "Hello, Mr. Atreyu," he greeted. "I thought the Innovation Lounge may be a more suitable location for our meeting today."

Having been hard on both his prefects now for several terms now, Airey had to mentally prepare himself for this meeting on top of the other prep work of going over the young woman's file.
Opening the door, Airey saluted the seventh year with the hand holding Pebbles' pink leash. "Good to see you, Miss Greyvson," he nodded, feeling as though he hadn't quite seen her as much as he had been hoping this term. Perhaps it had been because the usual spark Miss Greyvson possessed had been not as bright this term? If it had to do with teenage angst, he would rather not know the reason. "If you would please follow me to the planetarium we can have a bit of a chit chat."

Shock of the century, but Airey was not entirely ready for this meeting as he had not been expecting Miss Bayless to show up this early. But he was quite pleased with this development. He was, however, still looking over her file as he opened up the door to his office.
"Good day, Miss Bayless," he saluted. "I've only just put the tea on so it will be a few minutes before it's ready, but we can begin our discussion without it."
OOC: you are free to post inside the office now...or just tell Flamsteed the goods out here XD

Was it too late to discuss this? Was she too late? She didn't know what she wanted to do and with recent family events she really didn't know what she was going to do now. The brunette didn't even have a favorite class. She was better at some class than others but that was it really. Larissa wanted to know some options. If she didn't want to go to university or to work at the Ministry of Magic then what was there left for her to do in the Wizarding world?
The Gryffindor walked into the seating area of her Head of House's office. She was ten minutes early and she didn't know what she was going to do right now. Larissa looked around and sat in one of the open seats. All of this made her nervous and sad. She didn't want to grow up, she didn't want to be an adult.

Professor and Pebbles were quick to respond soon gracing the open doorway now between them and greeting him. "Good Morning, Admiral," Benny greeted in return, catching himself quick enough to switch to the modified title in time. At the suggestion of a change in location, the seventh year nodded, finding nothing wrong with the idea or the room in question. "Sounds good to me." And they were off.

Hearing no knock at the door to indicate that anyone had arrived early, the astronomer set to looking over the seventh year's file while doing a few stitches on some knitting he had been working on for just a few days now. Had been awhile since he had picked up his knitting needles, so he was painfully rusty and producing things that resembled a tangled cat toy.
With 30 seconds to spare, he walked over to the door and decided to take a quick peek of his seating area.
"Oh, Miss Mikos, I did not know you were there already," he apologized, summoning her file off his desk along with Pebbles. "I hope you were not waiting there too long, but seems good a time as ever to stretch your legs and head to the Innovation Lounge for our meeting."
And hopefully whatever glitter may, or may not, have stuck to her would fall off before they got there. Not that he was going to be looking.
