SPOILER!!: Frankie
With food being the central focus of his senses, he hadn't heard the music playing. It was just distant background noise at the moment. Since food was in sight, that was all that mattered to Frankie since the rest of the room wasn't that interesting. They'd be in a completely different setting had he been the one to get the room to appear. But that was going to have to wait for another day.
Blue eyes looked up into Hady's and then glanced over to the card she was holding out to him. Dumbledore. Pssh. Lame. "I used to collect 'em. Not so much anymore." He had grown out of collecting chocolate frog cards years ago. He was a fourteen-year-old boy after all. There were bigger and better things he had his eyes set on these days. Even though he did still have his collection buried deep within his trunk. Not that it mattered much since he already had the ones he cared for and a number of rejects. He didn't need to add another Dumbledore card to that later pile.
But that grin that she was now sporting was something he didn't like one bit. He knew where this was going, and he wasn't pleased about her taking advantage of him ignoring her question because now they both knew he didn't dance. He gave her a look when she presented her compromising deal. She would do something he wanted if he danced for her? She could have asked him to do far worse than dance. Hmm...
"Fine. But I'm telling you now that it ain't gonna be pretty. Not in the slightest."
Frankie managed to roll himself off of the beanbag chair he was sitting on and got up on his feet. Now the music was noticeable and he attempted to get in sync with it. While in his own mind he seemed to be doing better than he expected, in actually he was just running around, flailing his arms and hands about in random motions, and made a poor attempt at doing the worm. Already on the floor when the song ended, he rolled over onto his back gasping for air as his heart pounded and sweat began to travel down his face.
Hazel eyes met blue and for the briefest second Hady had to admit she liked the color of his eyes. As soon as she realized this her eyes shifted away and she shrugged tossing the card onto the food table. He didn't want the card. That was fine by her. She didn't need it either.
Hady wasn't the cruel type. Not usually. She had every right to be right now. Frankie had caused her to land on her bum out in the corridor. A bruise was probably on her jaw as well and all she gave him for this bet was to dance. In front of her. Nothing more.
But then the Gryffindor went and said that. Would she worry? No. "Fine." A deal was a deal. He danced and she would do whatever he wanted. Least it wasn't something completely horrible.
While settling in her spot and nibbling at the chocolate in her hands she set her eyes on the boy. His dancing was...well um...it was... She had no idea. Hady tried not to laugh as she watched this pathetic attempt and got to her feet to stand over him (after cleaning her hands) and held a hand out to help him up. "Erm yeah now I can see why you hadn't answered me." Maybe she would show him why she made this room appear. Nah.

"If you read a story, would you suddenly start thinking that's how life happened?" Serious question. That quill didn't play when it was embellishing. The boy would have to be suffering from an exceptional bought of amnesia to believe a drop of it really went that way. "My memory's fine and I do write whatever I wanna proper remember." Dude was completely missing the fact it was for fun. He knew that word, yeah? Didn't have to make sense. Just. Fun.
His expression fell a little at the mention of both the quill and the yearbook. "I wish. The Professor offered but then he took it back." Skip a couple or all, it was all your Charms and Transfiguration classes and suddenly you were on Academic Probation. It just wasn't fair. Was it HIS fault his wand was a bloody girl that didn't do anything he asked????
Blaise blinked at Davie blinking at him. A work of fiction? With the names of people in their school...? More blinking. "How's about...we go looking for the book tomorrow? During lunch." When everyone was back in the Great Hall, Professor's included, and he could pop him another one if it wasn't there anymore. All smiles. Friendly smiles. Friiiiends.
"Apology accepted and I'm sorry for....overreacting the way I did instead of using my words." Come to think of it, things might have been different if he had--only if Truebridge was to be trusted. For all he knew, he was just saying that.
"Now comes the just as not fun part. We gotta do a speech. We'll take turns asking questions." Blaise lived for the interview and just look how civilized they were being! Could the cuffs come off NOW--no....no they couldn't because he and Four Eyes had a date tomorrow, whether he wanted to come or not. Bless these cuffs. "What do you think is fun?"
"No, but I don't go around making up stories about people I know...." From Davie's viewpoint, reality was reality, and fiction was fiction. But he could see that Blaise was a lost cause, and was, as he had suspected, dangerously attached to his Quick Quotes Quill. He let out a sigh and shook his head at the other boy, since he had nothing else to really say about that.
Oh. "Why'd he take it back?" Davie couldn't stop himself from wondering. He quickly reminded himself that he didn't really care, because this was Blaise Freakin' Bellaire they were talking about here, but at least talking was better than his lonely, angry vow of silence from earlier. And no, he wasn't admitting any of that aloud. "Um, okay, we can LOOK for it, but I think that was a while ago, so it might not still be there...." Davie wouldn't take the blame for the book not being there either. HE WOULDN'T. He had to draw the line SOMEWHERE.
Davie nodded at the apology. It would suffice. He was lucky his mum didn't work here anymore, because what would have happened if SHE had had to deal with Blaise beating up her baby? It wouldn't be pretty for him. Giving a speech was much easier than being suspended. "Uh, fun? Why are we talking about fun?" Because Blaise's idea of fun was having a quill follow him around? "I like reading and studying and exploring with my best friend Charlotte." Those were his ideas of fun, yeah.

Now that he was exhausted and sweaty, he realized that he probably should have waited a while before he went and did ... well, whatever he managed to do. His stomach was not pleased with the sudden movement. Or he maybe needed more food to replenish all of the energy he just used up. Either way, he had done enough dancing for the next ten plus years. He hoped Hady was pleased with what she saw. He was not going to be doing that again any time soon.
"I ... think ... I'm ... going ... to ... die."
Now his shirt was clinging onto him, making it harder for him to breathe as he remained on the floor. He swore he could see the white light ahead of him. This was it, wasn't it? He was going to die in the Room of Requirement, wasn't he? He was just a boy! So much potential wasted on dancing his heart out all because he lost a bet!
But then Hady showed up, her hand held out for him to grab onto. Was she going to hold his hand until he moved on to the other side? Without thinking about it too much, Frankie reached up and grabbed onto her hand. He could feel her trying to help him up, but he didn't have the energy to make that task easier. Eventually, though, he was sitting upright, his breathing and heart rate gradually getting back to normal.
He sat there in silence for a few more minutes before he got back on his feet and slowly made his way over to the table. Water was what he needed right now. He poured himself a cup and chugged it and repeated the process a few times before looking at Hady. "So ... was that your reason for this particular room? To make an attempt at killing me?" He assumed that wasn't the case, so that meant she had to have been a dancer.

How could someone get so out of breath and drenched in sweat from one song?! Really it shouldn't have been that bad and she was still trying not to laugh as she held her hand out to him.
"You won't die. If you did then I'd look bad." She smirked teasingly meaning the words as a joke. If he did die though that certainly wouldn't be any good. So no. No he couldn't die.
After what seemed to be forever there was a sweaty hand placed into hers. Ew. Ignoring that small fact the snakette closed her hand around his helping him to sit up. Clearly Frankie was no dancer by any sense of the word.
Moving to sit on her knees remaining on the floor she watched as the lion drank several glasses of water. The question he asked then making her laugh. "Totally. Death by Dance." Hady shook her head. "Honestly, no. I dance. It clears my head and well right now that's why I was coming here." Now just keep your mouth shut and don't tell anyone.

"No one would know if I died here. Just you. Until someone else decided to one day be in need of a room to dance in. And then -- BAM! -- there I would be, all dead and stuff," he said lightheartedly, knowing that Hady was too much of a softie to murder anyone. She did, after all, easily give away her opportunity to make him do something incredibly embarrassing or doing whatever else she could have made him do for her. She had her moments, but she was a bit too nice for a Slytherin.
Frankie had the feeling that her eyes were carefully watching him as he drank cup after cup of water. He wasn't sure to be creeped out by that or if he was supposed to take that as a compliment. He was rather good-looking, he had to admit that. There weren't very many people with perfect blond hair roaming about. So he didn't make a comment regarding that. He was sexy and he knew it, even if he couldn't dance and was sweating right now.
His head perked up a bit when Hady mentioned that she danced. If she could dance, then his must've been like nails to a chalkboard. But, even more curious, was why she wasn't dancing right now since she imagined this particular room and everything. "Well, don't let me get in the way of your head-clearing or whatever. I'll just ... be over there." He pointed over at the beanbag he had been sitting in earlier and walked over there once he refilled his cup and grabbed a handful of sweets.
Yes, he'd be right here. Enjoying himself as Hady did her thing. He did, after all, have to think about what he wanted her to do for him since she had been overly gracious with her deal-making. Heh. If he got bored, he'd throw bits of candy at her for fun.

"Hmm, well as tempting as that sounds I'm not that stupid. If push comes to shove and someone dies it'd be more effective to feed them to my snake. No evidence and all that," she replied calmly right back a playful twinkle in her. Hady wasn't harsh or cruel or really even all that mean most of the time but when it came down to it she could be if she felt like it.
There was a chance that she may have been watching him but not for the reasons he would've assumed. More just making sure he wasn't going to passout or something. When Hady was confident that he wouldn't she shrugged and looked away around the room.
Whoa, what? He expected her to get up and dance right now? With him sitting there. Uh...she'd rather not. So far only Zeke had seen her dance and it wasn't even all that much of dancing. She'd shown him a little bit of what she could do and that was even before she had fully gotten herself back into it. Then again though what was the worst he could do to her? Tell everyone. Hady crinkled her nose in thought getting to her feet. Okay. Why not.
Moving to the center of the room she stretched her arms over her head and moved around a little warming up. She had to wait about a minute or so for the next song, bouncing on the balls of her feet to keep herself moving. As the song began Hady was instantly lost into the music actually forgetting that Frankie was there watching her. Her moves were mostly contained to well timed and very precise hip hop steps along with the occasional flips and some tap/jazz moves tossed it. As odd as it sounded it all somehow fit together nicely giving the impression that she DID know what she was doing.
Being so lost in her own little world it wasn't until the end of the second song that her eyes landed on Frankie for the briefest time. Oh yeah! He was still here. Wiping the sleeve of her hoodie across her forehead removing some sweat she made her way over to the table of food. Grabbing a glass she filled it with some water and sat down on the beanbag without a word simply sipping her drink.

He was decidedly done trying to explain his stance to Four Eyes. At this point he was just going to pretend they weren't talking about why he liked having his quill around because clearly liking it wouldn't be a good enough reason. Did all Ravenclaws read so deeply into everything? Circe.
Quite frankly, he'd have rather talked about his predicament with the Astronomy Professor. "He says people on academic probation aren't allowed to participate in extra-curriculars." The boy shrugged a little in an attempt to seem undaunted but it obviously bothered him. "I don't mind. Don't want to write for the dumb Yearbook anyway." Writing for himself was JUST as fulfilling.
"Don't worry about it. We'll just stop by the tree tomorrow and have a look. Who knows. Luck might be on your side." If not, he'd have to start writing an owl to his mum requesting new glasses because this time when he broke them, he'd chuck them over the ditch right after. Try fixing that Airey.
Blaise almost rolled his eyes. There went Four Eyes doing that Ravenclaw thing again. What happened to just answering questions without asking why? "Because fun is a neutral topic we can't possibly start arguing about. You want this to go well, don't you?" If not, he could just say. They could go right back to fighting whenever he was ready. "Now then." Ahem. "I like exploring too and reading." Studying....not so much. "I like surfing with my cousin too on vacations." Never let it be said that he'd never given Davie anything to report in his speech. "Now you ask something."

Whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa hold up, buddy. "Academic probation?" Hoo hoo hoo. Davie had just found out something about Blaise, something he could like... use for revenge later. Maybe. "How did you get on academic probation, though?" he asked lightly, deliberately keeping his tone curious and neutral. "I mean, if you want a study buddy, I could help you. I'm one of the top students for Ravenclaw." So far, that is. Who knew if he'd be able to keep up with the high standards he set for himself.
Yeah yeah, sure, luck would be on his side. Davie just shrugged at Blaise, not wanting to push it and anger his bully already. He'd probably feel the other boy's wrath if they didn't find the book out there so... that was something to worry about tomorrow. Not today.
"Okay." Fun, right. Blaise liked two of the things he did so that would be easy to remember. And surfing was an unusual hobby, so he wouldn't forget that. Ummm... a question. Right. "What's your favorite place in this castle?"

Blaise nodded one very firm and simple nod. "Academic Probation." Funny how the term itself didn't bother him so much as the things it restricted him from doing and all the extra attention Professor Airey was insisting he needed. "He says it's 'cause I'm skipping two core classes that aren't actually optional or something and apparently 'T's are what happen when you've visited neither lesson since September." If you asked him, it was unfair to judge someone for work they didn't do but there was no stopping them.
"It's...not the studying that's got me." Quite the opposite. Thanks to his extreme absenteeism, the boy did nothing BUT study in an attempt to salvage what little of his Charms and Transfiguration grades that he could. Suffice to say it wasn't working. Suffice to say he didn't care. "It's just my stupid wand; never does anything I tell her to and when she does it's on her own time and terms." Obviously had to be a girl wand. Moody bugger that she was.
Now that they were all set on finding his notepad, he could focus on Four Eyes' next question. Hmmm...favourite place in the castle? That was a tough one. "I guess...I like hanging out by the staircases, doesn't matter what floor. They're fun to ride. Next to that I'd have to say my Common Room. It's real nice in there. Except when I have to be running from Zander." Boy just didn't understand how serious Blaise was when he said he didn't want to learn. "You?"

Time to do the Muggle Studies homework!
Cinnamon was in charge of getting the props, and Paulina's job was to get the room ready for them to have a little tea party. She could remember having them sometimes when she was a little girl, so this assignment was bringing back memories for her.
She already had the perfect room in mind: her dining room at home, but with some doilies for the furniture thrown in. Paulina didn't know why, but doilies always made her think of tea parties and even though her dining room didn't have any that didn't mean that she couldn't pretend; this assignment WAS all about pretending after all.
As she paced back and forth, Paulina brought to mind the burgundy walls and wood flooring of her dining room. Instead of the normal wooden table, she pictured a smaller version - this one being white as opposed to unpainted. Decorative plates were added to the walls, an antique china hutch was thrown in, and of course there was no shortage of DOILIES.
Now all she needed was Cinna to arrive and they could step inside!

Academic Probation. Huh. "Which two are ya skipping?" Yeah, they were only first years. Not a lot of classes were optional at this point. So why was Blaise skipping? Because his wand didn't work? "Did you get it from Ollivander's? I've never known them to make a bad wand." Honestly, they were the best for a reason. Plus, "if it's malfunctioning, you can probably return it, or get a professor to look at it." Davie had a feeling that it was probably the wand owner and not the wand itself though. Just saying.
Staircases, okay, good answer. Davie was going to try to remember that as well. "Why do you have to run from Zander? Did you know I tricked him into believing I could read minds one time?" That was a cool story, heheh. Oh. And uh, "I like the greenhouses... and the study tables at the back of the library. You can get away with pretty much ANYTHING there, and Professor Kitridge is my Head of House, and he's really nice." Davie had a feeling HE would never put anyone in handcuffs in detention. NEVER.
So another question? "Favorite candy?"

You'd think it was obvious which two he was skipping given his current predicament but he would humour him with a response anyway. "Charms and Transfiguration. I've been doing very well in my other lessons without them and keep on top the readings. Most times I can get older students to cast spells for me anyway." So there was nothing 'compulsory' about either. Look at him months into his First Year and still alive. Fancy that.
But that--and Davie's suggestion he try getting someone to fix his defective wand, weren't NEARLY as interesting as him making Zander think he could read minds. "I'm running from him because Professor Airey told him he's gotta 'tutor' me or something but anywayyyy, how'd you make him think you read minds?? What'd you do??" Yes, very interested he was. his expression said it all.
While the boy listed his favourite place, the boy left it to his quill to take the notes. The thing is, while it embellished, it always kept the fundamentals. The locations wouldn't be lost in translation....they might be the only things to survive though. "My favourite's definitely jelly slugs but I LOVE fizzing whizbees too. What about you?" The more questions that passed between them was the more human Four Years appeared to be. Funny how that worked.

He was doing fine WITHOUT the two key classes that you taught all the spells they used in all the other classes?! "I mean, sounds like you have the study skills if you're still getting by... I would congratulate you, but Academic Probation isn't exactly a good thing." Geez, Blaise, did he have to make everything difficult on himself?
Huh, Zander didn't seem like the tutoring type --- not like Sophie Brown, but she was in Davie's house, not Blaise's --- but he WAS the gullible type! Davie tried hard not to look smug and failed. "All I had to do was know more about him than he knew about me," he replied confidently. "My mum had told me to be on the lookout for him, and then when I did, he freaked out and thought I worked for the Ministry or something." Davie chuckled with the memory. "It was actually really easy. The Head Boy is pretty gullible, for future reference."
And there went that quill again. Davie wrinkled his nose at it and then stifled a yawn. No offense to him or anything, he was just tired. "I'm a loyal Chocolate Frog fan," he admitted. "I've been collecting the cards forever. But I'm getting pretty tired, to be honest, so my next questions is... which bed do ya want?" The sooner they got to bed, the earlier they could wake up, and the earlier these handcuffs would be off. Or so he was telling himself.

Cinna was going all out for this homework assignment. This tea party was going to fun. Although they were suppose to use their imagination and pretend for the assignment, Cinna had made a trip to the kitchen to get tea and snacks. They were not pretending with the food. That wouldn't be fair.
After going back to the muggle studies room to trunk she found a cute tea set along with a table cloth, serving set and tea party dresses. This was going to be the perfect tea party. It would be even better than the ones she had with Bart's sisters.
Heading up the seventh floor she went to where the room of requirement was. She smiled, "Paulina! Are you ready for the best tea party ever?" She chuckled as she caught up the to Hufflepuff. These kind of assignments were the best.

As Paulina saw her partner approach, she smiled. "Hey, Cinna! I'm so ready for this. And you brought FOOD and TEA. How wonderful!" Even though they were supposed to be pretending she didn't think Professor Moxley would mind really. There was no way that she was going to say no to a sandwich and a treat! "This is going to be wonderful." Cinna had done an amazing job with her part, and now it was time to see if she had done as well with hers...
Stepping inside, Paulina was pleased to see that she HAD.
They were in the perfect room for tea. "Splendid!" she said getting into character as someone who enjoyed afternoon tea parties. There were even pretty dresses, jewelry, and shoes! Taking hers with a 'thank you!' Paulina put her dress on over her clothes (it was PRETEND after all). Next she added the jewelry and shoes so that the look was complete.
Now all they needed to do was set up the finishing touches and then they could begin! First things first: the tablecloth.

"It's okay." Blaise said with a small shrug. He didn't need him congratulating him in order for him to feel accomplished in himself. How many kids could actually say they got by on reading and the sympathy of others? Might not sound impressive but so what? When Blaise said something he meant it, and when he told Professor Baxter back in September that he didn't want to learn stupid magic, HE MEANT IT.
The Gryffindor eyed his quill, confident it was taking notes on how to best Zander the next time he saw him. Gullible? That would work brilliantly. It struck him as a little strange that Davie's mum would know Zander but the little boy was much taken by the strategy to really question it. "Huh. Dante said he didn't really listen to him or respect him as a Prefect....wonder if it's BECAUSE he's gullible." Interesting indeed. "I'll have to remember that, thanks mate!" And he was grinning, not the malicious sort that promised to hurt him if his notepad wasn't found but a genuine one because maybe now he had better ways of AVOIDING the determined Head Boy.
"I collect the cards too. You should let me see the ones you have. Maybe we could trade!" Did he forget he was mad at him? Why yes he did but strangely enough it had nothing to do with the prospect of cards--even if that helped. Currently he was trying to collect more cards than Bentley--easy enough when his cousin wasn't allowed sweets but a little help didn't hurt. Know what else wouldn't hurt? Sleep. Four Eyes had the right idea and he was feeling pretty tired too. "I'll....take that one." He said, rising slowly to avoiding yanking at the chain this time. They both had enough for a speech now. There was nothing to worry about.
