Directly below the Great Hall is the Hogwarts kitchen, complete with five tables identical to and directly below those of the Great Hall. Numerous house elves have returned and are busily working, always working, on the castle's next meal. They're surely willing to serve you a snack though, if you ask politely enough.
OOC: Please do not RP for the House Elves! We have a lovely group of actual elves who would love to RP with you if you will please be patient.

Sometimes she was way too comfortable around him. Maggie looked down for a moment to collect herself.
"Which doesn't mean it'll be easy." Ah yes. Good save.
Maggie was glad that he had found a way to stay close. A small smirk playing around her lips, she started tracing random patterns on his chest with her fingers. He HAD tried the more effective way yes. "You did and it was a success." So he should just stick with that. Ask the girl to go on a date directly. Well actually in this case she'd been the one to suggest going on a date.
Wait.....has SHE asked HIM out?????????
They were different things? He figured they went had in hand, though... he supposed one could be impressed without the latter, but if he was going to aim high, he may as well aim really high. But then, she was counting on him? Zeke chuckled, that was a little weird, but in a good way. A very good way. It meant she wanted this as much as he did, right? Her additional comment regarding the ease of it didn't go unnoticed, but it wasn't necessary. "You can count on me," he affirmed, because, that whole trust thing was still an issue, but he was confident that he was trustworthy.
He liked being close to Maggie, but it made not kissing her harder, especially when she was tracing patters on him like that. He could get used to it...
Her response was confusing though. It was a success? "Kind of," he thought aloud. "A date is great, but you didn't exactly say yes to my question." Was she changing her mind?

Maybe she hadn't been as good at deflecting than she'd hoped. Zeke still picked up on the counting on him part. Her eyes remained on the floor for a moment longer before meeting his gaze again. "Good. We'll see." Which was probably the theme of today. They would see. Only not until after Christmas. After their date.
Well, maybe ON their date.
Maggie's fingers paused so she could give him a soft pat on the chest instead. "No, I did not say yes." She agreed simply, her cheeks flushing just a little bit. Could be the heat in here too, mhm. It was a kitchen after all.
"Yeah. I'll make sure sure to write one after this." Assuming that she know what she had to write. She's not good at writing letter. She was pretty sure that she couldn't just write 'I'm in Hogwarts now with your cousin' on her letter. she will stress about it later. Her parents arguing more? "That's not good." Was she ever mentioned that she's BAD at giving comforting words? "Uh-huh." Somehow she didn't buy that's the only things happened with her but she's not going to prey.
Blink. Blink. Blink. She never heard Ilia spoke that much before. But she did mentioned the boy started it first right? "Okay then Miss Wise." How did she and Freyr was cousin again? And how did the old hat put Ilia in Slytherin. She's more like a Ravenclaw if she's being all wise like that.
"Ugh! yeah. Learning another language is troublesome." The only language she would like to learn is Merperson language. "I understand how you feel." No one liked to be compared with someone else.
See. Its not even hi-----....WAIT. WHAT???!!!! "Hufflepuff?!" She was pretty sure that there's only one Henric in Hufflepuff. So its the same person.
O_____________________o
"He's the person who I told you earlier." What a small world.
"I'm sure that they'll like that. I can always put the letter in with the little parcel that I am going to send them if you want." Beltaine knew the way to her second home well and she could handle a small letter too.
That's not good...."No, its not much fun." She was very hurt by the idea and being in the middle of it. She tried not to think about her parents while at school honestly. Wait what was that uh huh for? "What? The most exciting thing that has happened was getting spider-napped." And....she made a best friend and has feelings for him but...*coughcough* she didn't need to know that.
She smiled a little at Candice....Miss Wise.....she really didn't think that she had ever been called wise before. Maybe because she didn't talk to enough people to really be much of an advice giver.....
"I already know four and French is really different than the ones that I know so....it would probably be a pain yes. I'm not particularly fond of French either." Hearing Idunn speak it all summer , bubbly and flirty and self important, was enough to make her less than thrilled about it. She smiled at her friend and nodded. Maybe they should go......only moving was hard.
She would see, and she would have to believe him then. He wouldn't be an idiot like that again. Because while he could justify his actions, he didn't feel he really deserved to, and the guilt wasn't worth it. He returned her reply with a small soft smile before moving his arm to her shoulder and pulling her closer against his chest for a quick hug. It was all he could do.
He would need to work on that though. Being dependable. But it wasn't something he was likely going to be able to fix overnight, and that's what annoyed him most about all of this right now. It would take time.
Somehow her confirmation of the not-yes made it feel like a second failure, but the blush in her cheeks told him otherwise. Or at least, he ASSUMED it told him otherwise. Or was she just embarrassed about the whole thing? Embarrassed that he'd asked? If she wanted to say no, she could have, and they'd have been done with it, but that didn't seem to be the case.
Finding her hand with his, Zeke took a small step back from her. They both needed some breathing room, or at least... he did. If she kept her hands on his chest for much longer, he would have snogged her, just stolen her lips and kept them for himself, and he was torn. Would that have impressed her? Or pushed her away? He didn't want to risk the latter.
"Should we... head off?" he asked slowly, leaving the ball in her court.

The hug surprised her but not necessarily in a bad way.
Maggie smiled against him, returning the hug. It was a nice gesture. And it provided her with closeness without, well, snogging or doing anything else that would be deemed inappropriate before their date. Like, she still wasn't sure about handholding but seeing as she did that with some of her other friends too, she'd decided that it wasn't against the rules.
Breathing room was a good idea, yes, and Maggie was secretly glad he'd taken a step back. Not that she would ever say that out loud of course. Like, she was totally in control of everything she did. Mhm. Totes. Everything was thought through before she did it. Everything.
"Well, you got your cake so..." Yes, they could go. Maggie tugged herself closer to him by his hand, only to take his arm next. She then started walking towards the kitchen door. "I think this was a lot better than an indoor picnic, don't you agree?" She asked with a small smirk. Not in general of course but like, for their current situation.

Holding her, however briefly, was nice... just nice, and for the first time in a long time, since before detention really, that things felt really good. They were on speaking terms, and he'd been open with her. So whatever came from it, could only be a good thing.
The space between them has worked to cool things down a little, he didn't feel as hot around the collar as he had earlier, though there was no doubt that it was warm in the room. It was the disadvantage of a kitchen space, heat. It was comfortable, until it wasn't, but one thing he was very comfortable with, was Maggie on his arm.
"I did," he agreed with a nod, "and you didn't eat much at all, not hungry?" he mused as they began to make their exit. When they got to the door, he did the gentlemanly thing and held it open for her. She may have had a point, but not in the way she thought. Still, he let her have it, he was too content to express opposing views at the minute. "You know what? You were right about this, it was nice." It was comfortable and casual, which wasn't a bad thing, for now at least.

She hadn't eaten much?
"I didn't really eat anything." Maggie replied with a small grin. Well, she'd licked some of the chocolate cake off her fingers but that didn't really count as EATING anything, right? "I'll wait until dinner." She tried not to eat anything apart from fruits and vegetables between meals. It was pretty easy once you got used to it too.
Maggie thanked him silently by bowing her head while stepping outside, exiting the kitchen. Oooh. And he agreed? She'd been teasing him a little seeing as she had assumed that that was NOT what he'd wanted to do. There was a reason he'd suggested that indoor picnic originally and Maggie wasn't stupid.
So when he genuinely agreed with her statement she was surprised but not unpleasantly so. "Good. We should do it again some time." Maybe actually, like, cook something. Or do something else that was a good distraction. Otherwise she could totally see them getting in awkward situations again.

Anything or much at all were the same thing in his mind, but if she wasn't hungry then there wasn't much more to the discussion. Dinner wouldn't be too far away, he didn't need to be concerned. Concerned, ppssshhh... Maggie had lived up to this point, he was sure she knew how to feed herself. "No worries," was his reply, shrugging it off.
Following after Maggie, Zeke let the door close behind them. His smile may have grown somewhat, because as far as he was considered, doing this again would be a date, whether she wanted it to be or not. Of course, he would never say no to the invitation of spending more time in her company. "We should," he agreed, "all you have to do is ask." He would be here.
"Its good to have a girl friend around again." Seriously Ilia seemed to only attract boys.
The way she said Hufflepuff nearly made Ilia jump. Wait! It was HENRIC!?!?!?!!? She cupped her mouth to hide her shock. "That.....doesn't sound like how he normally is." Really it didn't, accusing people of pranking him.....supposedly being rude... She frowned as she thought. "Please, don't hex him." She found and old friend....and her best friend was at odds with her....wonderful. She sighed deeply. "I'll talk to him and ask him why he was being a jerk and try to sort it out. I'm sorry Candice."
"OH! You would do that?" That's prefect. "If its not much trouble for you I will give you the letter." She was not sure if her owl could make the journey, since the poor creature got lost most of the times.
Yeah she guessed its not fun. Okay. Maybe they need to stop talking about depressing things. Getting spider-napped was the most exciting thing that happened to her? She didn't know whether its exciting in a good way or in bad way. Maybe both? But she's going to accept that for now. It looked like Freyr was worrying over nothing.
"FOUR?!" Gasp. "How did you manage to learn that many languages?" She can only speak two language. English and Danish. That's it. "Yeah. Tell me about it. I definitely need more girl time." Having another girl friend around your age definitely a plus.
So Ilia's best friend and the guy who accused her of the crime she didn't commit was the same guy?! Not like him? She didn't want to tell her that maybe she's wrong about her best friend. Maybe deep down Henric was a jerk? But she didn't want to break her friend's heart. And what do you do when your friend was pleading like that? You said yes of course. And that's what she did. "I'll try." But she's not promising anything here. Because she might need to hex him if the circumstances asked her to do so. Like dueling club for example.

"Its no trouble. Beltaine knows her way very well and I know she can handle it." The owl flew there more than she did to London really and she was a capable bird also slightly spoiled.
When Candice nearly yelled four, it sharply got Ilia's attention. "Yes four. German, Norwegian, Swedish, and English." How did she learn that many? Not that hard with her family she supposed. " I learned Norwegian and Swedish because a lot of my family like Freyr and Ullr are from up there. Although, Norwegian, Swedish, and Danish are almost interchangeable. If you understand one, you will understand most if not all of the other two." She was missing a little bit of Danish and wasn't perfect at it. Old Norse she could read and speak some but, she wasn't going to elaborate on that. " My fathers side of the family is German and I lived there. English, most of us know it but I made sure I was very fluent when I knew I was coming here." It would be hard here if she didn't know what everyone was saying as well as she did.
Girl time was going to be a plus. If she was lucky, her and Candice might get to graduate together. "It is agreed then. I don't think I have really had a girl friend since I've been here."
I'll try, Ilia supposed that was mostly a yes? .....She might just have to guard Henric a little more carefully. Not a fight she wanted to have but.....
Well, if it happened in dueling class she couldn't help him though.....

Eeeek! She heard German was really hard to learn. Norwegian and Swedish she didn't know anyone who speak that languages. Well, now she does. "Ohh. That made sense. I learn Danish because most of family are come from Denmark." They life and breed there. She was a bit surprised when Ilia mentioned about Norwegian, Swedish, and Danish were almost interchangeable. So was that mean she could understand Norwegian or Swedish if she ever wanted to learn? Maybe she should asked Freyr or Ullr to teach her. "But now you speak it fluently." she can't even hear an accent.
"What about your roommate?" Slytherin have those too right? Or everyone get their own room there?
As long as Henric behave himself, she's not going to look for trouble. Its not how she's. Well, maybe she's like that when she's a first year but now she's already grown up so she knew better. So Ilia no need to worry about her maybe she need to put a leash on him just in case.

Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love you tomorrow...
Hady was humming quietly to herself as she made her way down towards the kitchen at their agreed upon time. Like normal she may have been just a few minutes early as she reached the large photo hung upon the wall of the bowl of fruit.
Dropping her bag down on the floor near her feet she leaned against the wall across from the kitchens entrance rather then go inside. She wasn't sure if Maxon knew how to get in, oddly enough it hadn't occurred to her to ask him the day before. So now she was stood here waiting for him to arrive so they could go inside together and probably fail epiclly at making donuts. It was something she had never attempted to make before so would most likely fail at it but just so they enjoyed trying everything would be fine.
Bouncing lightly on the balls of her feet she twirled the green lollipop around her mouth. Waiting was boring.

Alright, time to set up for tea time. Davie had several unopened packages of chocolate frogs, some licorice wands for effect, a hefty pot of hot, fresh tea, a tray of cookies and scones, a tray of muffins, tea cups, saucers, and then of course he was resting his book-sized collection of chocolate frog cards on his lap. They were here for trading and exchanging, EVEN exchanging, since this was a tea party for GUYS.
He had even dressed up for the occasion, though he was resting his cloak over his shoulders in case no one else dressed up, and he'd set up his tea party in the back corner of the kitchen. He was hoping that if no one else joined him, at least a house elf would take pity on him and would help him out. Toddles, maybe? Ugh. Muggles were weird and cool and all, and he loved tea, but WHAT IF NO ONE CAAAAAAAAAME?!!
Davie munched on a cookie while he waited.

Ellery, carrying a lace parasol, strolled into the kitchen with ease. She swished her long skirt as she walked in order to hide her brown, beat up hiking boots. She was all decked out, Victorian-style, and when she was glad to see that she was not out of place entirely. She wasn't sure if Olly was going to come, but he was invited and of course he told her about it, hence why she was wearing thrift-shop clothing.
"Hi, David," she said in greeting, closing her parasol and setting it gingerly next to the seat next to HIM. She sat down primly, tossed down the chocolate frogs, and began the arduous process of taking off her elbow length gloves. She pulled off each finger, then cracked her knuckles and began practicing her poker face.

Charlotte was not a BOY but she was a CHARLOTTE and when it came to Davie that was GOOD ENOUGH obviously. She was the BESTIE so that trumped anything else.
Davie had said to dress fancy, so of course she had obliged, pretty dress and matching shoes aaaand she was SKIPPING. Skipping. SKIIIIIIIIIIIPPING. And a pause for pear tickling. And then MORE SKIPPING and an ENTRANCE complete with jazz hands.
"Here I am!" Because that was what he was waiting for, right? RIGHT? She sat down right next to him and arranged her skirt just so. Yes. Now she was ready.

It was absolutely remarkable. Tickle a piece of furniture and there was suddenly a secret entrance that he could go through. Why had no one told him about this sooner? The boy was often hungry after meal times, did no one think knowing where the KITCHEN was would prove useful? Merlin!
But yes, there was a kitchen behind a large portrait of a fruit bowl and now he would never go hungry again. Blaise stepped through dressed in his best suit, clutching his chocolate frog cards tightly in their little holding case. There was all sorts of anticipation as he heading in. What would it look like? Would there always be food prepared and waiting for someone to take? Was Davie there yet??
The only answer he got was Davie being there--wait, food! Real food! The Gryffindor walked over with a spring in his step and placed his little box of chocolate frog cards on the table.
"It's meant to be pretend tea." He said, noting the actual one that was prepared. "Reckon the food's meant to be pretend too but don't worry, we can pretend they're pretend." Because he wasn't getting rid of this stuff, no way. Eating would happen, then they could tell the Professor how great they were at pretending they weren't eating real food. SUCH IMAGINATION MUCH WOW!
Davie hadn't mentioned inviting girls, especially not loud Ellery but Blaise smiled at both her and Charlotte anyway. Pretend tea Parties with real food, he was a happy kid.

Also presents. Presents were the number one reason why Christmas was the number one time to be alive. And this year, Zander had an extra name added onto the bottom of his list: Toddles. Yes, Zander liked ALL the House Elves, but there was one he was closer to...
T'was a strange friendship built upon being arch enemies. But alas, they were friends now. Or at least, Zander hoped. So here he was. Big present wrapped up and everything.
..."Oi, any house elves around?" 'Cause surely that'd be enough to get their attention.
Okay, so this wasn't well thought out. Oops.
Toddles hears master calls for elves? Toddles hears and walks yes Toddles does. Toddles knows voices. Yes he does. Toddles peaks around and sees...MASTER ZANDER. Toddles is happies. Yes he is. Toddles beams and walks up to Master Zander. "Master Zander. Toddles happies to sees you."
Maxon made his way down to the kitchen, his hands stuck in the pockets of his jacket and his mind rather preoccupied. He'd just come in from taking a letter out to the owlery since he'd gotten a letter from his mom earlier today. She'd sent him donuts and said everything was fine back home, but he wasn't convinced. He'd have to write their housekeeper Mrs. Hawkins to get a more accurate response, he supposed. Biting his lip, he turned the corner and made his way over to Hady, who was standing in front of the fruit painting. "Hi."

It wasn't long before Hady heard the now very familiar voice coming from just beside her. Turning her head a little and then her body to face him she smiled softly. "Hey," she greeted quietly. "Ready to get started?" It was a simple question really that she was sure of the answer to. If he didn't want to give this a go then they wouldn't have made this 'date' to meet here. Not that this was a date. Was it? Yeah she wasn't entirely sure but it didn't seem to be. It was just another agreed upon place for them to hang out again.
Hady stepped forward in front of the fruit painting and casually tickled the pear stepping back as it opened up to give them both entrance into the kitchens. Glancing over her shoulder at Maxon she stepped through and waited for him on the other side. "Do you want to give this a go ourselves or should we call a house elf and ask for some help?" Whichever he decided on was more then fine by her. Donut baking was not her forte.

Rooney was apprehensive about attending today, especially after already having an amazing tea party with Miss Sophie a few days before. BUT his Mama said that he should have more friends that were boys and this was explicitly for those of the male variety. So he decided to at least go, and excuse himself if he needed to or he felt that he wasn't wanted. OR if Colt and the other stupid Slytherin boy were there. He didn't want to see the smirking butthead, the Head Boy OR Miss Charlotte's bloomin' boyfriend. But he put on his second best jacket and his matching bow tie because FORMALITIES.
He braved the group of people already in the kitchen and waved a little with a smile. HI MISS CHARLOTTE OH GOSH NO. He almost threw up. She had a DRESS on. An actual dress. A full on dress. Oh crap. His stomach turned and he just waved frantically, blushed and chose a seat. "I like the table." Uhhhhh...

When one was invited to a fancy dress tea party, one tended to NOT dwaddle or muck about. Especially if one was Reagan Penrose: avid tea enthusiast. Even if this was for Muggle Studies and the tea would be imaginary, she dressed in what would pass for fancy (in her opinion, which wasn't nearly as fancy as others tended to be). This was more in support of Davie Truebridge, her firstie housemate, anyway...who was hosting the affair. He was an adorable boy, really, with his cute glasses and lovely smile. She'd regretted not getting to know him better this term. Hopefully, that could be amended before she graduated, however.
Entering the kitchen, she smiled brightly at the younger kids gathered and settled a wicker basket on the table setup. "Hello, everyone! I hope I'm not late."
Gosh, didn't they all look so stinkin' cute?! Reagan was gushing.

MERLIN'S BEARD, some people had actually shown up! The imaginary tea party wasn't so imaginary after all anymore, huh! Some of these kids probably had imaginary chocolate frog cards on them though, right? Because only Blaise had a big book of cards for trading like Davie did, and Davie wasn't really going to share with just *anyone.*
He did start passing out cups as all his friends, both old and new, arrived. "Hiiiiii Ellery... and CHAR! Youguyslooksopretty." That last part was definitely mumbled as Davie busied himself with pouring enough tea for everyone and not making eye contact with the cute girls. He looked up as the person he'd been chained to for more than a week came in next. "Blaise! Yeah, we'll pretend they're pretend. Hey, you brought your cards? Cool." He got a cup of tea and a grin. Who else was here? "Roooooooney, mate glad you made it. I'm glad you like the table. I like your bowtie." Davie had one on too, see?? "You too, Miss Reagan. Thanksfordressingupsonice." And Davie was definitely blushing now. Look at all these people! See how important it had been to put out REAL food and stuff??!
He took a sip of his tea and then addressed the group again. "So if you didn't know, we're uh, celebrating the study of Muggles with our pretend tea party. Only the tea and food is real, because the House Elves wouldn't let us sit here and go hungry! But the dishes are also very real, so be careful with them. We can have a pretend zoo or play astronauts after tea, if you guys want. Or we can pretend everything is pretend." Those were also homework options, see? But for now... "Dig in!!!"

"Sure," Maxon said, motioning for Hady to head into the kitchen. Lady's first, after all. When she mentioned elves, his eyes widened slightly. "Elves? You were serious about them?" Maxon had all but grown up living a muggle life... There were no elves at his house. He'd never even seen one in person until he arrived at Hogwarts, and he still wasn't very comfortable with them... "We can do whatever you'd like." He didn't mind, he just wanted to hang out with her.

Turning her head to look over her shoulder at him she laughed at the look on his face. "Yes, have you not met any of them yet?" If he hadn't he should. They were an awesome help and just the sweetest little things ever. She loved seeing them. "Well we did say that 'we' would make them. Soooo do you have any idea on how to make them?" Donuts that is. As weird as it may be she HADN'T gone to the library to find any books that could help them. If they were to do this it was going to be a guessing game on everything.

Absolute cutie, gosh.
When Davie politely complimented her less-than-fancy attire, Reagan beamed in thanks. She'd definitely tried just for his sake! But also...she'd come bearing gifts!...because Rea understood that a good guest always brought some type of offering. That's what she'd been taught, anyway. Yea, it was an old-fashion custom. "I brought you a collection of chocolate frogs. They're unopened. I got the lot for Christmas and didn't plan to eat them, so...I figured you guys could make use." After passing off the basket, she took her seat; arranging her dress so it didn't crease too much.
Not that she cared too much about wrinkles in her clothes...If just seemed to fit the atmosphere.
Turning her smile towards the collection of her younger peers, Reagan finally noticed that there was, in fact, tea and food set out on the dishes. OOOH. So, they WOULD be enjoying tea and treats. ACK, what luck! TEA! Trying not to appear too eager or greedy for the deliciously warm liquid, she primly reached out, collected her tea cup, and slowly sipped; much in the manner she had as a little girl. Yep, there had been many a tea party in her parent's home. Perhaps that attributed to how much she LOVED the drink...
"We could pretend to be different people." She finally offered after she'd taken a few drags! Offering their gracious host an extra warm smile, Rea added a couple of sugar cubes to her cup.
