Directly below the Great Hall is the Hogwarts kitchen, complete with five tables identical to and directly below those of the Great Hall. Numerous house elves have returned and are busily working, always working, on the castle's next meal. They're surely willing to serve you a snack though, if you ask politely enough.
OOC: Please do not RP for the House Elves! We have a lovely group of actual elves who would love to RP with you if you will please be patient.

"How about we try to animate something? I might have something in my bag..." Grabbing her bag off the floor again she rummaged through it searching for something they could use Piertotum Locomotor on.

She saw a cockroach walking at the corner of the kitchen and.... Instead of shrieking, she caught it. "I hope you're not scared of this." Yeah, most girls were scared or... dunno. But every time they saw cockroaches, they were shrieking like the sky was falling. But Ava didn't have problem with cockroach. "I'm gonna try transfiguring this cockroach into... something." She tapped her wand three times to that insect and said the incantation. "Vera Verto!"

The younger girls comment was met with a nod. It wasn't that Hady didn't like hanging around the older students she just found it easier to be around those her own age. Which probably explained why she didn't know many others older then herself really.
Still rummaging in her bag Hady didn't even notice Ava had moved until she heard her talking. Lifting her head a little she peered over at her wondering what she had caught. Scared of what? And then she found out. A cockroach. The firstie was going to transfigure a cockroach. All the snake was able to do was laugh. It was FUNNY!
"Nope. Not afraid." Hady smiled was she watched Ava give the spell a go. Failing she tried a different one to which it worked. "Nice job. I'm sure many girls will be happy to know there's one less cockroach walking around here." At least it wasn't a spider.
"Yeah, yeah I think so." Her attention shifting back to her bag she finally pulled out what she wanted. Pulling out a small snake statue which was supposed to be up in her dorm she set it on the table. "Now lets see if this works...."Piertotum Locomotor!" She pointed her wand at the statue.
...Nothing.
SIGH.
"Piertotum Locomotor!," Hady cast once more aiming her wand firmly at the snake statue. When the statue appeared to come alive before her Hady nearly startled almost losing focus, only she barely managed to maintain the spell slowly moving her wand back and forth in front of her, the 'snake statue' turned real slithering slowly over the table top. A smirk appeared on her face when she realized she had done it!

Instead of shrieking when Ava brought a cockroach, this Slytherin girl was laughing. Why??? Was it weird if she wanted to transfigure this insect into something.... useful? Hehehe. "Well, maybe if I could find more cockroaches I'm gonna transfigure them so they could be more useful than making some girls shrieking like maniacs." She didn't understand why most girls were shrieking and screaming when seeing cockroaches. They weren't scary.
The young lioness then watched Hady tried piertotum locomotor to her snake statue. Wow, she's really a Slytherin huh? At first she didn't manage to do it but then... The snake statue did move! Merlin it looked amazing! She wanted to try to but... She didn't have anything. "Can I try it too?" She asked.

"I'd rather see them turned into something else then hearing all the girls screaming." It's not like the bug was going to eat them. Not like a spider.
Still guiding the snake statue across the table top Hady nodded in reply to Ava. "Sure. Don't lose focus at all though or the spell will fail." With a whispered word the brunette cancelled the charm and pushed the staTuesday towards Ava. "Do you like snakes?" Random question yes but Hady loved them.

Of course she'd find biting amusing. What had he gotten himself into exactly? Zeke couldn't help but smirk a little... just a little, especially when she did the same, but it grew somewhat when she squeezed his arm. "Try is all I ask," he mused, because he would like to think she wouldn't think of doing such things in human form.
Approaching the castle entrance, Zeke held the door open for Maggie to pass through first, only allowing himself to slip his arm from hers for a moment before following suit. The entrance hall wasn't nearly as chilly as it had been outside, but still didn't offer much in the way of warmth. Food was sounding more appealing by the second. Something warm and savoury, or sweet and sticky.... like pudding.

And alas, returning Maggie's gaze, he considered her proposition. Kitchens and stay there? "That works for me..." because really, he didn't need much convincing, "lead the way."
Maggie was glad he'd agreed to her idea of heading to the kitchen. It was casual, right? Not-date like. Yet he would still get the food he wanted. And it gave her some more time to think about what had just happened too.
Also she kinda liked spending time with him, so yk.
It wasn't a long walk down to the kitchens and once they'd reached the painting, Maggie turned her head to look at Zeke. He was still there, good. She reached up to tickle the pear, then walked inside. Ah. Good. It was also a lot warmer in here than it had been outside. Or even in the castle's corridors.
Like, seriously, heating, had someone told them about that?
Finally pulling off Zeke's sweater again she held it out to him. "I gave yours to Flamsteed, by the way." Actually, was this it? She glanced down at the piece of clothing in her hand for a moment, then up at his face again. If it was, then it better be clean. Although she hadn't smelled anything out of the ordinary while wearing it either so it was probably all good.

That sounded like a good plan. Transfiguring cockroaches into something more useful. It would make the world became a better place. Ava just couldn't stand of the girls shrieking and screaming when they saw cockroaches. Seriously, they weren't that scary.
Ooooh, the young lioness grinned when Hady let her to try the Piertotum locomotor charm. She pointed her wand to the statue and said the incantation. Of course she didn't forget to keep focus and intent. Pierto.... blablablablabla..." It's quite difficult to pronounce the incantation perfectly. Okay, another try. "Piertotum locomotor!"
And nothing happened. Ava tried once again. "Piertotum locomotor!"

Still nothing.
Merlin, this one was very difficult. Giving another try, the statue was not moving. "It's very difficult." And she gave up.
Snakes? "I love snakes, I wanna have one for my pet but my mom said I'm too young to own reptile." Boo, and not to mention Hogwarts didn't let them bringing one to school. "I bet that you like them." Because she's a Slytherin, duh.

Blinking a few times, he tried to put it out of his mind. "Uuhh, what do you think looks good?" He asked as he took a few paces toward her, close enough to be able to peek over her shoulder, but far enough away that he wouldn't be tempted to do something else.

Sitting back in her chair Hady picked up her mug of hot cocoa and watched the younger girl. Sometimes it was amusing watching younger kids attempt a spell that was much harder then they were used to.
This though. Wasn't bad. With her hazel eyes fixed on the smaller lioness she couldn't help but grin at her. "It is difficult so don't worry about being unable to cast it this time. Just keep working at it and you'll get the hang of it." Time and practice that's all. "At least we managed to accomplish some of the Charms on the list."
A job well done for the two of them.
The kid wanted a snake but she was to young? Hady nearly scuffed at this but settled for shaking her head. "I adore them. Own one actually and have for a few years now." Since she was about 8 or 9 really.

Maggie tilted her head to the side a little to give him a curious look. Hello? Zeke?
Oh. What did SHE think looked good? Hmm. She paused for a moment as he stepped closer but eventually turned back around so her back was facing his way to observe the food again. "I don't know. What are you in the mood for?" Maggie looked at him over her shoulder. "Something sweet or...?" Did he want a snack? Cake? Or like a whole three course meal?
Candice almost kind of looked like a bunny, eating her carrots and Ilia had to hold back a grin. It was good that she had made friends, it wasn't the easiest thing for her. "With you being here as well, I think that I have the same amount of friends that I did in Durmstrang. Only, no one here is related to me." Basically, the only difference was that she had Adi and Henric here versus Freyr and Ullr there.
She met someone who accused her of pranking them. Candice? "I've always thought of you as being too straight forward to do something like that. Maybe laugh at someone getting pranked, but I couldn't see you actually pranking someone. Why would they accuse you of that?"
Yeah that daily prophet article.....that was really 'fun' to talk to her mother about......"My mother wasn't too thrilled about that article herself. I forgot to tell her about the kidnapped part because, she never would have let me come back." She frowned a little at the thought. She would have been shipped off to Beauxbatons like her cousin Idunn and that was the last thing that she wanted. Yet another new school and she would have to learn French......being trilingual at fifteen was good enough wasn't it?
Oh, she supposed now that she had mentioned getting kidnapped by Acromantula, she probably owed her friend the story. "Well, last year it was....pretty crazy. It started with webs spreading all around the castle for most of the term, creatures went missing....some were found later...." She trailed off sadly thinking about Princess the toad. "Even our groundskeeper went missing and two students. Then the hairy creepers launched a full assault on the castle. We were grouped with professors, trying to fend the freaks off but started getting overrun." Honestly, she was sad to not see Professor Thompson back......she really liked the creatures teacher even if he didn't manage to keep her from getting stolen. "I was..." Enraged....vengeful...."..very upset at the time, because my creature was lost to them prior to the assault. So instead of just fending them off , I started ending a lot of them." Including literally hexing the life out of some in front of her DADA teacher....probably not the best move in retrospect. " In their creepy little voices , they said I was a threat and a group of them side swiped me and pinned my wand against my leg so I couldn't fight them anymore." Yes the account was still fresh in her mind and while she tried to do her best and stay well adjusted, it still did upset her and spiders had to burn....."They ran off with me and took me to the Forbidden Forest and threw me into a big sticky web. Our Headmistress was taken in the assault too, so there were five of us kidnapped from different groups. The big creepy spider queen came....and I ....insulted her...and ....." She pushed her hair back as she thought about it. Yeah she insulted something that could have eaten her in one bite. Which, considering it was her, was very surprising due to her typically calm and quiet demeanor. That was the first time that she had ever insulted anything in her life. Although Leah got close when she tried to get between her and Henric. "She ranted out her reasons and plan to us , it was like a villain in one of those muggle films. Then people from Hogsmeade, the Ministry, and reinforcements from the castle came and rescued us. My best friend here pulled me out of the web...." Which was when she realized , her feelings toward him really were absolutely not just friendly.
"My scar is almost completely gone." She added in some attempt to lighten the story that she had just told, though....it probably didn't do much for it.
As soon as she finished her carrot, Candice grabbed another veggies from her bowl this time its broccoli. Nomnomnom. "That's good to hear you made so many friends." Nods. Having friends who were not related to you were SO much better because they're not going to be over protective. Speaking of relatives. "So how's Freyr and Ullr? Are you going to see them during Christmas?" To bad they didn't follow Ilia here to Hogwarts because Hogwarts certainly need more yummy good looking boys. Ahem.
SEEE..!!! SEEEE..!!! "Right?!" Even Ilia knew that she's not the kind of person who liked to prank people. Just because she didn't like a person didn't mean that she's going around pranking them. "I don't know. He just assumed because I hate his guts that I'm the one who prank him. Can you believe it?" Accusing innocent person without evidence. Pffft. And that made her angry. She grabbed another carrot and snapped it into two before ate it.
OH! Her brother was not the only one who thought that Hogwarts was dangerous after the spiders attack? "I'm pretty sure your mother gonna locked you in the highest tower if she know about you were kidnapped by the spiders." Thank Merlin she was not here last term. If she was in Ilia's shoes, her brother would freak out and shipped her to Durmstrang.
Candice listened carefully when the Slytherin told her the story about her kidnapping. "Creatures went missing? What creatures?" They didn't mention any creatures on the Prophet. The groundskeeper went missing too? What in the world?! She started ending a lot of them? "You killed some of the spiders?" WOW! That's WOW! They pinned her? "i couldn't imagine being pinned down by the giant spiders." Little spiders she culd handle but the BIG one? Eeeeewwww...Just eeewww..She probably passed out as soon as the 8 legs freak crawling on her legs. "How many spiders were there? In the forest?" SHE DID WHAT NOW???!!! "You insulted the QUEEEN?! Wh----Whaaaat?! How?Why?" Didn't she know that you're not supposed to insulted magical creatures especially a dangerous one? "Well, I'm glad that you're okay now." And alive for that matter. "Did they killed the Queen?"

Instinctively though, he stepped closer so that he was directly behind her, his right hand finding hers. "Something sweet, I think," he decided, playing along with her questions. Cake. He could never say no to cake, but it wasn't the only thing he wanted right now.
Raising his brows as she took stepped closer to him, he wondered if she might have been thinking what he was thinking... but it seemed that wasn't the case when she turned around. Way to get his hopes up.
He was in a mood for many things, Miss Traulton, and that look wasn't helping.

Even if she hadn't heard him step closer, Maggie had definitely FELT it. It was quite cozy in here, wasn't it? Maybe the kitchen hadn't been a good idea after all. Not that she minded. But his proximity made it kind of hard to think. And like, appear casual and unperturbed.
Which she totally was, you know.
"Sweet, right." Maggie repeated, giving his hand a soft squeeze in acknowledgement. She leaned over to steal a slice of chocolate cake and put it on a napkin. Maggie then let go of his hand to be able to turn around again and, facing him, held up the cake. "You want this?" She was smirking slightly, well aware of how close they were right now. But also trying to appear indifferent to it.
Whatever the game they were playing was, she was definitely playing along.
As soon as she finished her carrot, Candice grabbed another veggies from her bowl this time its broccoli. Nomnomnom. "That's good to hear you made so many friends." Nods. Having friends who were not related to you were SO much better because they're not going to be over protective. Speaking of relatives. "So how's Freyr and Ullr? Are you going to see them during Christmas?" To bad they didn't follow Ilia here to Hogwarts because Hogwarts certainly need more yummy good looking boys. Ahem.
SEEE..!!! SEEEE..!!! "Right?!" Even Ilia knew that she's not the kind of person who liked to prank people. Just because she didn't like a person didn't mean that she's going around pranking them. "I don't know. He just assumed because I hate his guts that I'm the one who prank him. Can you believe it?" Accusing innocent person without evidence. Pffft. And that made her angry. She grabbed another carrot and snapped it into two before ate it.
OH! Her brother was not the only one who thought that Hogwarts was dangerous after the spiders attack? "I'm pretty sure your mother gonna locked you in the highest tower if she know about you were kidnapped by the spiders." Thank Merlin she was not here last term. If she was in Ilia's shoes, her brother would freak out and shipped her to Durmstrang.
Candice listened carefully when the Slytherin told her the story about her kidnapping. "Creatures went missing? What creatures?" They didn't mention any creatures on the Prophet. The groundskeeper went missing too? What in the world?! She started ending a lot of them? "You killed some of the spiders?" WOW! That's WOW! They pinned her? "i couldn't imagine being pinned down by the giant spiders." Little spiders she culd handle but the BIG one? Eeeeewwww...Just eeewww..She probably passed out as soon as the 8 legs freak crawling on her legs. "How many spiders were there? In the forest?" SHE DID WHAT NOW???!!! "You insulted the QUEEEN?! Wh----Whaaaat?! How?Why?" Didn't she know that you're not supposed to insulted magical creatures especially a dangerous one? "Well, I'm glad that you're okay now." And alive for that matter. "Did they killed the Queen?"
So many friends......when she was one of three. It was a funny statement really , somewhat ironic. How were her cousins?.....Them....they were just them....only good way to describe those two. "The boys are them. They seem well enough, I really miss being around them all year." She was still surprised to see Candice here and she wondered how Ullr ,particularly, felt about it. "Did you tell Ullr and Freyr that you were coming here?" Was she seeing them for Christmas? She smiled sadly and shook her head softly. "No, I'm staying here for Christmas." No dealing with parental drama right now, so not what she needed. "What about you? Will you be seeing your brother?" Normal people spent holidays with their families right?
Just her sentence.....Ilia wondered if she realized how comical it sounded. He just assumed because I hate his guts that I'm the one who pranked him. Can you believe it? Ilia choked what threatened to be a giggle back into a small smile. "Well, if he knows that you hate his guts.....I am sure that it means he doesn't know you. So, if you were close he may have thought that you did it since you hate his guts.....If he doesn't know that you hate his guts....I don't know. Maybe he is just rude and wanted someone to blame." She shrugged and gave her friend an empathetic look.
Lock her away in the highest tower? Possibly......."Which is why I didn't tell her........Or Freyr or Ullr....Or my dad....." She was just going to drop and leave that whole ordeal and just not talk about it. Her family didn't need to know until she graduated.....if ever.....
"Some of our CoMC creatures.....a few pets......the pet my best friend and I had.......most of them were found and returned, including our Groundskeeper." Though the groundskeeper turned up at the prefect event......And of course....part of the muggle knowledge that Henric had chosen to impart with her was of zombie horror games so.....yeah that was NOT her most graceful moment........and she wasn't going to speak about Princess because then she was liable to start crying again.
She seemed shocked that Ilia had killed Acromantulas.....well honestly what fourteen year old had? Let alone hexed them to death in front of her DADA teacher....."Yes. I killed some." Some was quite a few and Ilia had never hurt any creature before, in any way, in her entire life prior to that. Never even squished an ant.....
"I was pinned in their pincers and carried off....but the scar is mostly gone. So...Yeah....There were hundreds of them. I stopped counting." Yup the scars were not a memory that she wanted to keep. "I insulted it because it had us kidnapped and wanted its creepy evil giant babies to attack the castle and that is where my friends were. I almost had myself cut loose.....I don't know. Desperation and bravado probably." She would have rather gotten herself harmed than let them hurt Henric and Adi.....
Did they kill the queen? "I'm okay....not terribly fond of spiders....but okay." Sort of ....ish....she only had a teensy bit of ptsd....not a whole lot.....just spider vengeance on the occasion......"I am not certain, but I don't think that they did. They used charms and illusions, drove them all away. Its all over now though, haven't seen a spider since." And she wanted to keep it that way, permanently!

And its good to know that they boys were good. She missed hanging around them. "No. I don't have a chance. Its kinda last minute decision." She should probably owl them and said she was sorry and stuffs. Or she could asked Ilia to tell them just in case they're not happy with her. "Same. I'm staying here too for Christmas." Sigh. "My brother and uncle decided to take a Guy's Trip on Christmas." THOSE SNAKES! Well, her uncle was a Snake but her brother was a Badger but who care, to her right now both of them were snakes.

That must be one of the reason why the have a new Groundskeeper this term. The previous one probably still in dealing with shock or something like that. "Your pet was a victim too?" Poor thing. "What pet was it? A cat?" Or an owl?
She knew that Ilia was really good with her wand. Like REALLY GOOD! They did attend Durmstrang together for a few years and she saw her using her wand several times but killing a creatures? Let alone a BIG GIANT spiders? That kinda shocked her. "Well done!" Maybe Ilia could teach her some of that hexes she used to kill the spiders.
She got goose bump hearing the Slytherin story about how the spiders pinned her with their pincers. Desperation and bravadoAnd stupidity."What made them attack the castle anyway?" They're not going to attack unless they're provoked. At least that what's she read. They didn't kill the Queen? Maybe they reached an understanding or something. As long as the spiders stayed in the forest. "Yes. And I haven't seen any single we too." Well, she did see a spider web but a regular one not a giant one.

She knew that Ilia was really good with her wand. Like REALLY GOOD! They did attend Durmstrang together for a few years and she saw her using her wand several times but killing a creatures? Let alone a BIG GIANT spiders? That kinda shocked her. "Well done!" Maybe Ilia could teach her some of that hexes she used to kill the spiders.
She got goose bump hearing the Slytherin story about how the spiders pinned her with their pincers. Desperation and bravadoAnd stupidity."What made them attack the castle anyway?" They're not going to attack unless they're provoked. At least that what's she read. They didn't kill the Queen? Maybe they reached an understanding or something. As long as the spiders stayed in the forest. "Yes. And I haven't seen any single we too." Well, she did see a spider web but a regular one not a giant one.
She didn't tell them? Oh.....Ullr was probably pouting. Freyr never stayed too sad for too long, but Ullr was a bit more sensitive.....as well as slightly more attached to Candice...." You probably should send them an owl. I'm sure they miss you." She was staying here for Christmas too? Guy trip? Ilia giggled a little at Candice's reply and smiled a bit at her. "At least we are here together." She didn't know if either of her boys would be here, so she presumed that she would be alone.
"I don't think that anyone likes being pranked." She laughed a little , trying not to seem unsympathetic with how upset Candice was. "It probably isn't worth hexing someone over, is it? They were wrong, you don't like them...they probably don't like you. Hexing won't fix that." Ilia tended to be more of a pacifist until strongly angered and she didn't want Candice to get detention.
"I haven't told anyone outside of school because I don't want my parents to know. They would probably ship me off to Beauxbatons....." The very LAST thing she wanted to happen. She didn't even want to go back to Durmstrang right now either....Not with her best friend here.
Her pet was a victim....yes she was. Ilia was still dealing with that and it was hard. What was she? "No.....she was a toad that my best friend and I had." Her voice grew quiet and sad as she said this. She still missed princess terribly.
Well done? Ilia really didn't think of it that way she supposed. She really just acted irrationally and let her rage get the better of her. She wasn't proud to hurt things....although she no longer counted spiders safe with the rest of the creatures. "Thank you?"
"Something about a mate getting killed or something.....It sounded like a villain from one of Henric's muggle comic books...." She really did....and then they got free and yeah....so she'd read his comic book....so what. "The professors and ministry people...and shop keepers....ran in to rescue us and in the castle they used an illusion charm to make the freaks think we had basilisks. It was pretty clever actually." Although, she pretty much thought that the only good spider was a dead spider.
