Directly below the Great Hall is the Hogwarts kitchen, complete with five tables identical to and directly below those of the Great Hall. Numerous house elves have returned and are busily working, always working, on the castle's next meal. They're surely willing to serve you a snack though, if you ask politely enough.
OOC: Please do not RP for the House Elves! We have a lovely group of actual elves who would love to RP with you if you will please be patient.
Kate tried not to look at Colt in a sad sort of way, but she couldn't help it. He had only been looked after by a neighbor? She was suddenly really grateful for her mom and dad, who had always been with her as far back as she could remember. "Wow. You must be pretty smart to have figured out all that stuff by yourself," she said. Kate wondered if she would have been able to survive all by herself and only a neighbor to help.
She laughed when Colt said his neighbor's daughter grew up to be a weirdo. It was a nice change of topic. "What do you mean? What makes her so weird?" she asked. The topic changed to where he grew up then, and she smiled. "No, your's sounds way cooler! You were raised in America. I've never been there!" New York sounded exciting and fun and interesting, and...she would love to go there some day! She nodded. "I'm really close to my family. It's my mom, my dad, and my little brother, Ryland. He's two. He was born just before I started Hogwarts."
She eyed the cooking process, already thinking about how the chocolate chip pancakes would taste. "I can't wait to taste your cooking!" she said. Only time would tell if he was truly a chef or not. She had faith in him, though. Anybody who basically raised themselves had to be good at cooking!
"Nah I wasn't smart it was just out of necessity. I was also trying to be independent too so there was that. Toddles sees lots of studenties. Toddles needs to helps. Toddles goes into kitchens and sees studenties cookings. "Any studenties needs helps from Toddles?" Toddles wants to bes a good elfs. Yes Toddles does.

Colt smiled warmly and accepted her words of confidence. "Thanks Kate.." He rolled his eyes playfully at the claw and said sarcastically back, "Yeahhh a crusshh. I am glad I am rid of her she was too clingy for my taste. I mean your perfect. Your waayyy better than her." And he totally meant that. Busy in New York was an understatement. It was crowded but it had personality. Oh the family members? He grinned and replied with, "Oh well I would take you to see my aunt and also my grandma. They are both lovely and would love to see you since they will consider you my girlfriend. I mean if I have a crush on someone it makes you automatically my girlfriend in their eyes." he shrugged. He didn't believe it but he didn't wanna scare Kate. "I don't wanna scare you but I am just bracing you."
With the pancakes done, he slid the pancakes on the plate and slid the plate to Kate. "Yeah you better like them." he joked with her. He took the frying pan off and turned the burner off. Now time to enjoy his pancakes. He got the fork and knifes and handed some to Kate. Now time to eat, he dug in right away. Yuummmm these were delicious! He closed his eyes because he was in heaven. He ate through his three pancakes rather quickly but waited for Kate to be done with her first batch. "I hope you like them."

Was dancing a secret cool-people thing he didn't know about? Was it an exclusive club? Her proposition of a baked good black market had him raising his eyebrows though. Just.. what? Why? "Uuhh, black market?" he asked, hoping she'd clarify. He wouldn't pay anyone for cake, not when house elves could make it for him for free. "What kind of baked goods?" Because if there was something more to it than deliciousness she might be able to count him in.
It pleased him to know he could be the taste tester, cause his stomach was a bottomless pit when it came to cake, and the very thought of it was making him super hungry. And THIS cake was her first black market cake??? "You're not charging me for it are you?" Legitimate question. He had no money on his person, and the only thing he had to barter with was a chocolate frog card and some lint in his pockets. Hardly worth trading for cake.
Ilia found herself wandering into a place she rarely went. The kitchen. She didn't know how to cook, she didn't snack much, but she was stressed. What was good for stress? Tea. The answer was a warm cup of tea, warm enough to work the stress from her tired heart with any luck. She left her post in the dorm , under her bed. She was resolved not to read it today at the very least, perhaps all week. She didn't want to see her best friend either, a mess of words and emotion was threatening to spill from her lips if she looked at those pretty blue eyes right now.

She asked her former Durmstrang classmate. "This seat taken?" But before Ilia could answer she already sat down anyway.

The Gryffindor claimed the empty seat next to Ilia and placed her bowl full of vegetables on the table. Her mother decided to move to England? That's explained why she didn't see Ilia back in Durmstrang last year, only Freyr and Ullr. She did kinda guess that maybe the girl changed school but she never guess Ilia would transferred to Hogwarts.
How did she end up here?"Well, my brother got a job in London so I asked my dad to move me back to Hogwarts." Durmstrang was too cold for her liking. "How do you like Hogwarts so far?" She grabbed a carrot from the bowl and popped it into her mouth.

Well this was certainly different alright.
That was the first thing that ran through Hady's mind as she tickled the pear in the framed picture outside the kitchen and made her way inside. When she had agree to work with the younger girl Hady didn't expect their meeting place to be the kitchens. Really though it was a good place to get started on the transfiguration homework.
Glancing around the kitchen she noticed Ava hadn't arrived yet. Might as well have a small snack while she waited. Checking around the cupboards she found herself a glass and then poured herself a glass of milk from the fridge. Sipping her milk the fourth year settled down onto a stool while she waited, pulling out the parchment that had the assignments notes on it. At least they had a few charms to choose from. It should be fun once they got started.

Tickling the pear, the young lioness then entered the kitchen. She didn't know why she picked this place for doing their transfiguration homework. Maybe because they're gonna find some stuffs that can be used for their homework object or because this place was full of food, so they could eat some snacks while doing homework. Hehehe.
Oops, the Slytherin student had been there waiting for her. "Hady, sorry that I'm late. I'm looking for a mouse to practice Vera Verto but apparently there's nothing around here." So maybe she's not gonna try Vera Verto for now. But she could try the others, right?
Why had she even gotten a glass of milk? It wasn't that she disliked milk cause that wasn't true she just preferred coffee now. Lots of coffee. She was coffee-less at the moment however so she had to settle for her glass of milk.
Having just set the half full glass on the table beside her Hady looked up as Ava approached her. "Hey Ava, ah don't worry about it I've only been here a few minutes." It wasn't as if she'd been here all that long with nothing to do. What the younger girl said next though made her laugh. "I don't think you will find one. One of the house elves though should be able to get you one. Or we can give the other spells a go. Between the two of us I bet we can really have some fun with this." There was tons of things to transfigured or animate.

She actually asked to be moved here? Ilia wouldn't want to leave now that she was here, and became way too attached to her best friend but she certainly didn't want to move here in the beginning. Though she supposed that being closer to her brother made sense, it was still an unexpected turn of events. Apparently London was the place to be, considering her mother had taken a new contract there as well. It didn't give her anymore love of the place, however.
She had forgotten that Candice came from here in the first place......How did she like Hogwarts? She had to think about that....some of the teachers she was fully convinced were off their rocker......but.....she wouldn't have met Henric or Adi if she hadn't come here. "Well, I have made a few friends here......more than I did at Durmstrang." Really....besides a little time with Candice.....she had no friends at Durmstrang other than her two cousins. She was generally the quiet child in the corner, very literal, and somewhat expressionless upon first meeting and that was often not the easiest way to make friends. "The school was overrun with Acromantula last year........" Yeah her first year as a transfer student had involved her getting injured and almost dying. She still couldn't look at toads without crying after what happened with Princess..... "So I've only been kidnapped by giant eight-legged freaks once and haven't died." She was completely straight faced and matter-of-fact as she said this.

Hady shifted around in her chair as she watched the younger girl climb onto her own chair and collect things from the cupboard. Being around the smaller years didn't make her feel so short, such a good thing right there. At the offer of hot cocoa Hady wondered why she hadn't thought of that herself. Oh well. "Yeah sure, want some help with anything?" Least she could do was help if it was needed.
Laughing softly she nodded her head. No one really seemed to ask the house elves when they came down here though it was always the most obvious of choices. Maybe if one was available now they could even help them out with that mouse. "Scribblifors would be a good start." Might as well get at least one of the charms out of the way. And using cutlery was a good idea since it was the proper shape of a quill almost. "Good idea. I'll give it a go," Hady took out her wand and selected a butter knife laying it flat on the table in front of her.
"Scribblifors!," she stated clearly pointing her wand at the cutlery of her chosen choice and flicking the wand to the right. Right away there was success as the butter knife began to change before them into a perfectly shaped quill. Not bad. "Your go," Hady informed her younger friend as she glanced over at her. Lets see how well Ava could do this.

I'll give it a go," Hady took out her wand and selected a butter knife laying it flat on the table in front of her.
"Scribblifors!," she stated clearly pointing her wand at the cutlery of her chosen choice and flicking the wand to the right. Right away there was success as the butter knife began to change before them into a perfectly shaped quill. Not bad. "Your go," Hady informed her younger friend as she glanced over at her. Lets see how well Ava could do this.

Setting down her wand on to the table she lifted her warm mug of cocoa into her hands sipping it slowly. This would keep her focused while she watched the younger lion give the spell another go.

"Sounds nice," she said because two could totally play that game. "Make sure it's extra bald... smooth as a babies bottom." Now that would be a sight to see. Zhenya. She could vaguely recall the older girl. "I never really had much chance to speak with her but I knew her from lessons." Truth right there. It might sound strange but Hady didn't really speak to many of the much older kids unless Adi counted. Of course the badger did he was like a bigger brother to her.
When Ava was ready to try the snakette picked up her mug of cocoa sipping it slowly. Hady would've pulled out another pen from her bag but no need to, the younger girl found toothpicks. "Good idea that'll work." Sure enough it did work for within just two tries Ava had herself a matchbox.
"Nice work," She smiled lightly. Continuous trying and they'd each figure it out and get better. Which spell to try next though left Hady unsure. She was wanting to try something harder now. "How about we try to animate something? I might have something in my bag..." Grabbing her bag off the floor again she rummaged through it searching for something they could use Piertotum Locomotor on.

She actually asked to be moved here? Ilia wouldn't want to leave now that she was here, and became way too attached to her best friend but she certainly didn't want to move here in the beginning. Though she supposed that being closer to her brother made sense, it was still an unexpected turn of events. Apparently London was the place to be, considering her mother had taken a new contract there as well. It didn't give her anymore love of the place, however.
She had forgotten that Candice came from here in the first place......How did she like Hogwarts? She had to think about that....some of the teachers she was fully convinced were off their rocker......but.....she wouldn't have met Henric or Adi if she hadn't come here. "Well, I have made a few friends here......more than I did at Durmstrang." Really....besides a little time with Candice.....she had no friends at Durmstrang other than her two cousins. She was generally the quiet child in the corner, very literal, and somewhat expressionless upon first meeting and that was often not the easiest way to make friends. "The school was overrun with Acromantula last year........" Yeah her first year as a transfer student had involved her getting injured and almost dying. She still couldn't look at toads without crying after what happened with Princess..... "So I've only been kidnapped by giant eight-legged freaks once and haven't died." She was completely straight faced and matter-of-fact as she said this.

Candice almost kind of looked like a bunny, eating her carrots and Ilia had to hold back a grin. It was good that she had made friends, it wasn't the easiest thing for her. "With you being here as well, I think that I have the same amount of friends that I did in Durmstrang. Only, no one here is related to me." Basically, the only difference was that she had Adi and Henric here versus Freyr and Ullr there.
She met someone who accused her of pranking them. Candice? "I've always thought of you as being too straight forward to do something like that. Maybe laugh at someone getting pranked, but I couldn't see you actually pranking someone. Why would they accuse you of that?"
Yeah that daily prophet article.....that was really 'fun' to talk to her mother about......"My mother wasn't too thrilled about that article herself. I forgot to tell her about the kidnapped part because, she never would have let me come back." She frowned a little at the thought. She would have been shipped off to Beauxbatons like her cousin Idunn and that was the last thing that she wanted. Yet another new school and she would have to learn French......being trilingual at fifteen was good enough wasn't it?
Oh, she supposed now that she had mentioned getting kidnapped by Acromantula, she probably owed her friend the story. "Well, last year it was....pretty crazy. It started with webs spreading all around the castle for most of the term, creatures went missing....some were found later...." She trailed off sadly thinking about Princess the toad. "Even our groundskeeper went missing and two students. Then the hairy creepers launched a full assault on the castle. We were grouped with professors, trying to fend the freaks off but started getting overrun." Honestly, she was sad to not see Professor Thompson back......she really liked the creatures teacher even if he didn't manage to keep her from getting stolen. "I was..." Enraged....vengeful...."..very upset at the time, because my creature was lost to them prior to the assault. So instead of just fending them off , I started ending a lot of them." Including literally hexing the life out of some in front of her DADA teacher....probably not the best move in retrospect. " In their creepy little voices , they said I was a threat and a group of them side swiped me and pinned my wand against my leg so I couldn't fight them anymore." Yes the account was still fresh in her mind and while she tried to do her best and stay well adjusted, it still did upset her and spiders had to burn....."They ran off with me and took me to the Forbidden Forest and threw me into a big sticky web. Our Headmistress was taken in the assault too, so there were five of us kidnapped from different groups. The big creepy spider queen came....and I ....insulted her...and ....." She pushed her hair back as she thought about it. Yeah she insulted something that could have eaten her in one bite. Which, considering it was her, was very surprising due to her typically calm and quiet demeanor. That was the first time that she had ever insulted anything in her life. Although Leah got close when she tried to get between her and Henric. "She ranted out her reasons and plan to us , it was like a villain in one of those muggle films. Then people from Hogsmeade, the Ministry, and reinforcements from the castle came and rescued us. My best friend here pulled me out of the web...." Which was when she realized , her feelings toward him really were absolutely not just friendly.
"My scar is almost completely gone." She added in some attempt to lighten the story that she had just told, though....it probably didn't do much for it.
