Did you forget when your Herbology journal was due, or how much longer you have on that Ancient Runes essay? What classes are coming up? The Class, Homework and General Announcements Board located on the wall by the study tables is the perfect place to check for what activities both academic and non-academic are going on in the Castle.
OOC: All Ravenclaws and Hogwarts Professors are free to post in here letting the members of Ravenclaw House know of upcoming or recently opened classes, homework assignments, or bulletins of new activities. When making a post in here, please try to include a link to the appropriate class thread and a quote or link of the actual homework assignment. If there is already a post for something try not to make another one; we all enjoy being informed, but too many repeating posts becomes repetitive. You have until Midnight on October 26 (GMT -6) to wrap up your duels. If duels do not have a winner at this time, the winner will be determined by the final point standing.

When: February 13
The meeting will begin at 7pm sharp. Please avoid being late. (OOC: Monday October 26th- meeting should open by approximately 6:00 am GMT-6 and will officially begin at around 9pm GMT-6 on the same day.)
Who: Everyone and anyone who is a part of the club (non-members are welcome to participate). Students AND Professors alike.
First duels of the tournament MUST be finished by this time.
Food is prohibited.
Socks and shoes are mandatory (on feet, during the whole meeting, please and thank you).
What to Bring: Your head and everything that comes with it.
Sharp senses are particularly important.
Questions about the club.
Wear your uniforms.
What NOT to Bring: Poor sportsmanship.
Complaints.
Chocolate. Seriously. Don't ask. Just, no.
Other Notes: This will be a slightly longer meeting than the first. Members will go over what went well and didn't go well during the duels. Members are encouraged to think on this, and bring up issues, thoughts or strategies.
A Challenge and Spell Assignment will be announced.
Standings of the First Duel will be announced.
Second duel pairings will be posted after the meeting. (OOC: The meeting will close on October 29th by 11:30pm GMT-6. So be prepared to move fast.)

Pets will be adopted out if brought.
Food will be turned to stone and donated to Flamsteed's rock collection.
Comfortable, movable clothes are a very, very good idea.
What to Bring:
Your head (with the space between your ears preferably filled).
A rested mind and fed body.
What NOT to Bring:
Chocolate.

First Part: Reflect on your task and what crossed your mind during the challenge. How did you react and how did it affect your casting? Was it harder to cast under pressure? Was it the same as practicing the charms in class? Did you freeze? Did you work better when you had something to protect? Write a paragraph (five sentences) detailing your experience in protecting your fort.
Second Part: Choose a charm and list three ways in which it can work as a defense and three ways in which it can work as an offense.

Activity: Try, again, to cast a spell you know well, preferably a Transfigurative spell. Now try playing with these things (posture/form, wand movement, pronunciation, focus etc.), For example; try it with good form/posture and good focus, but saying it incorrectly. Try saying it correctly with good form but not focusing etc. See what happens and reflect on the activity by answering the questions below.
Question 1: Why is focusing on a spell so important? What are the results if poorly done?
Question 2: Why is the correct pronunciation of a spell so important? What are the results if poorly done?
Question 3: Why is correct form/posture and wand movement so important? What are the results if poorly done?
Question 4: How can you improve your spells by using the techniques we practiced in class (stretching exercises, verbal and focus exercises)?
OOC: Homework Due in 2 weeks (Saturday 14th November at 11:59PM GMT). Please read the guidelines regarding homework submission.
Your activity post only needs to be one well formed post, however if you would like to do more than one post, go ahead. You can work in groups or solo. If you have any questions, please PM me.

For those who want to watch, stands have been set up along the Tournament Hall. Don't worry Duelers, you won't be able to hear or see your fellow classmates, so there is no worry of a distraction.

Also, if for some reason you cannot complete or start your duel, please let both me and your partner know. We will work something out.
Note that magic points have been reduced during this duel. This is, yet another trial run, as first duels seemed to have a bit too much magic
Also, if you participated in the DADA Class #2 and the homing spell, you may now use that in your duel

Do you think the name “love potion” befits this type of potions or would you give them some other name? Why?
Do you think wizards will be able to create real love in the future?
Love potions cause infatuation and therefore the drinker is very open to manipulation. Yet, they aren’t banned by the Ministry. Why do you think that is? Explain your thoughts in detail whether you think they should be banned or not.
Discuss the ethical side of love potions. Can there be a legitimate reason for their use?
Perhaps the biggest joke of the world is that Lord Voldemort was the child of a marriage that was sustained only with a love potion. Do you think that affected his personality and in the end, his actions? Why? Why not?
Length: Except for the questions #1 and #2, the answers should be at least 3 sentences long. There isn't a maximum limit. Due: November 28th, 23.59 GMT/18.59 EST Worth: 15 points
