The Courtyard is a cloister on the base of the Hogwarts Castle. This cloister seems to be one of the older parts of the castle and the ceiling and walls are dilapidated. Serving as the last area before approaching Hogwart's entrance doors, it also leads to the Wooden Bridge.
In the centre of the courtyard is an antique fountain surrounded by statues of eagles. Perfect for relaxing and making wishes at. Beware, once you toss in a coin, you can never get it back as the water surface sinks deeper and deeper preventing your hand from ever reaching inside to retrieve it. A pear tree also grows in this courtyard, free of worms making it safe to snack from.
He gonna judged her and her crush when he come along? Chuckles. "Don't let your hope up, kid!" Candice ruffled his hair. She couldn't help it. Sorry, Colt. "No one like being called nerd, Colt." Someone definitely need to teach the Slytherin what to say and what not to say to a girl, especially a girl that he liked. Just playing snowballs? How boring. "No kissing under the mistletoe then?" Hehehe.
That was HURT. Well, at least her knees were okay. "I'm fine. Just a tiny scratch. No biggie." She could still got up and continue skateboarding. To prove her point, Candice got back on to the board. See totally fine. "Your mother is a wise woman. Well, look wise I like a LOT of boys but personality wise none." Shrugs.
Colt scrunched his nose and squirmed away when she ruffled his hair. What was he? Like five years old? No no only his mother could do that to him. "Why not? I think being called a nerd can be a good thing.." He didn't see anything wrong with that. Woah woah woah. Did she say kissing!? KISSING?! He shook his head and stared her in disbelief. "Woah going a little fast there eh?" He didn't even think about kissing her. "I mean Kate wants this to go slow and I don't wanna make things awkward.." He was imagining their first kiss now. I mean it was nice but it was way too soon. "Well if Kate kisses me then I will be fine with it." he shrugged. He didn't wanna make her scared.
"Just a tiny scratch?" he raised his eyebrows when he saw the blood on her knees. "You might need to patch that up soon." he advised her. He nodded when he heard Candices opinion on guys. "Well what do you think of me so far?" he smirked. He couldn't wait to hear this.

It was a nice and peaceful day so Paulina decided that it was the perfect time for her to work on the Transfiguration homework.
She planned to try out all five of the listed spells as opposed to two or three. This would prove to be more of a challenge and was welcome when she needed to practice for the NEWT in any case. Fortunately she had some experience with the spells so she wasn't going into this totally unexperienced.
Making her way over to the courtyard, she found a spot on one of the benches. It was cold outside but that was no problem for her because she had a winter coat; she also knew how to cast hot air charms. Later on she would move back inside the castle but for now she liked where she was seated.
Smiling, Paulina looked around her surroundings to find something to use. Her eyes landed on a small rock. It would do perfectly. Picking it up she placed it beside her on the bench before taking out her wand. "Fuhn-gee-FORS... Fuhn-gee-FORS..." She repeated the spell a few times under her breath just to get the hang of saying it. Once she was satisfied she began making 'n' shapes with her wand.
It was time for her to try out the spell. "Fungifors!" Now she had a little mushroom. How cute. Paulina decided to keep it because Professor York never said that they had to revert the objects.
Colt stuck his tongue out at her playfully. "Yeah you say that now. How would you feel if I ruffled your hair or messed it up?" He smirked and lunged at her and gave her a noogie. He shrugged and didn't mind the fact he admitted that. So what? Everyone was a newbie at something.
When he was riding on his new board, he grinned and took her a while to notice. "Well I used the duplicate charm and made a duplicate one. I learned the charm in Durmstrang." he winked and did some tricks. "Don't do stupid things?" he repeated skeptically and raised a brow. "Well I don't know your definition of stupidity so can't help you there..." he teased her just a bit.

Okay, so, good news: being a new kid wasn't all that bad so far. Maxon was surviving. Her eyes scanned the area around ber until she located Maxon. He seemed to be writing something. Hopefully she wasn't to early.
Wandering over she dropped her bag onto the ground and sat herself down beside him despite the slight chill in the air. "Hey Batman, I'm not to early am I?," She greeted with a playful grin on her lips. "Doing some homework or something?" When she mentioned the kitchens and the elves, his eyes went wide. So Hogwarts *did* have donuts. But... "I dunno. I don't think it'd be the same." The donuts his mom sent were little pieces of home, which he needed. However... "But we could possibly try going down there and making some sometime?" That could be fun... Especially if she was there. He hoped she'd be up for it.
"Doesn't matter much, really," Maxon shrugged. "But I do like the Halloween one best." Just sayin'.

Clearly donuts from the elfsies wouldn't be like fresh baked bakery ones from your favorite place back home but they would be A-mazing! Anything those little ones from the kitchens prepared was wonderful. "Probably not....buuttttt..." she drew out slowly swinging her gaze around so her eyes met his brown ones. "If you're super-duper nice to me I may just wander on down to the kitchens sometime and meet you there so we can do just that." Make donuts together. Just the two of them. The food probably wouldn't come out right and they might end up making a mess but it would be a good time.

Reading certainly wasn't go as she had planned. What was going on with her? She never had this problem when selecting was around anyone else and she was around people ALL the time. So why couldn't she focus? Maybe she was getting sick. Spending wayyyy to much time outside in the cold. That was probably it. She needed some warm tea and a good night's rest. By tomorrow she would be fine.

Maxon looked back up at Hady at the sound of her voice. "Well. I do believe you put your eyes on the page and move them, absorbing the words with your mind." Heh. That's how you read comics. And even if he couldn't focus long enough to read, he at least wanted her to. Who knows? Maybe she'd end up liking Batman, too.
"My mom said it isn't easy to make them." That's why when he'd asked to make them as a kid, she said no, and she went on about how she wouldn't let him destroy her beautiful kitchen with any mess he might want to make. He remembered his dad taking him to the donut shop and then to the beach after that. It'd ended up being a great day.
His heart ached.
"Oh well. I guess we'll find out for sure tomorrow."
