If you know the password, or where the entrance is from the Secret Passage you can make your way through a portal in the stone wall of the dungeon and walk into the Slytherin common room:

The ceiling is low and the walls are made of stone, and even though they seem dank and cold, the room tends to stay at a very comfortable temperature. There are greenish lamps by black leather couches and chairs, with skulls all around. Scattered around the room are very comfy green bean bag chairs. Once you get in them you just might think you've been attacked by Devil's Snare as you find that the bean bags are almost impossible to get out of. With the common room being located under the lake, you can occasionally see mermaids, grindylows and the giant squid swim by when you look out the windows. A rug covers the floor in front of the fireplace that has a hunter green fire burning in it. The Slytherin emblem is everywhere, as house pride is one of Slytherin's strong qualities. It reminds students of what being a Slytherin means and allows them to share those feelings with others.

This is where Slytherin students are allowed to unwind, study and chat with one another. There is a room straight ahead that students may use as a quiet place to study and ask prefects and high scoring students questions. To the left, a corridor that leads to the Boys Dorms, and to the right a corridor that leads to the Girls Dorms. Beside each corridor is self inking quill and parchment with the words Attendo Thea Vipera on it. This is where you can leave a little information about yourself so your housemates can get to know you better.

On the side of the fireplace is a Notice Board for class and homework announcements, as well as general announcements. The Roster is also there for Students to make sure their name is listed and spelled correctly. Placed around the room there are four different Wizard Chess game boards. Find a partner and see who can keep their pieces from getting smashed by the opposing team.

A podium stands to the side with a copy of Hogwarts a History, which is where you will learn that even though the whole dungeon had once been flooded, nothing was waterlogged or permanently damaged.

She started twirling a lock of her hair around her finger again, still watching the other girl thoughtfully. "And you've never liked anyone else either? Or like, wanted to kiss him or whatever at least." Right now Maggie wasn't even looking for gossip. She was genuinely interested.

Hady cocked her head to the side and raised an eyebrow at Maggie. Of course she was sure. Wasn't she? Everyone has awkward moments. Like when she'd fell on her wrist in the chamber of secrets and he kissed her wrist to make it feel better. Very sweet but a bit awkward. Or when she attempted to show him how to dance....Oh and last term the questions he'd asked her over what Maggie had said to him. All very awkward times. "Yes. Or well..." Hady blinked and then shrugged. "I think so?"

Liked anyone else. No. Not more then a friend. Okay well that wasn't true there had been Jaxon but it was a crush and she was like eight at the time so that didn't count. "Nope not yet anyways. Kiss who? Zeke or any guy?" Now she was getting confused. Where they still speaking about her and Zeke or just any guy she may like in general?

The fact that Hady didn't reply right away made Maggie think she was right. Right about how things weren't strictly black and white between them. When the other girl did finally reply it only supported her theory. "You think so." Maggie echoed, not saying any more on the matter. Interesting.

No? She'd never liked anyone?

Even more interesting. At her next question Maggie shrugged. "Both. Either." Although right now she was REALLY curious if Hady had ever wanted to kiss Zeke in particular. Because if she had then things had just gotten really awkward no? If she said yes then should Maggie apologize? Probably.

Should have said no. Why hadn't she just said no?! Dangit Hady what did you do. She inwardly groaned closing her eyes a moment and let out a slow breath her hazel eyes looking at Maggie when she heard her echo her previous answer. "I don't really know. It's never come up. We don't discuss who we like, don't like or how we fell about each other. It's just known that we're best friends." Everything else was a blind guess. Did she want to know how Zeke truly felt about her...maybe. It was clear he liked her somewhat if they were friends and all but that was probably all it was. And honestly she was good with that.

"Maybe." There. That was all. She wasn't giving names. Maggie could therefore assume what she wanted with it. Whatever happens happens and she'd accept it just like everything else.

Maggie waited, simply watching the other girl curiously. She was glad to be able to focus on something else other than that horrible detention she'd just had. Hady's relationships proved to be a really good distraction. "Maybe you should then. Talk about it I mean." She paused, considering her own suggestion for a moment. "How DO you feel about him?" Since she'd specifically brought it up. And it didn't hurt to ask again.

Just, you know, curious.

Her next answer didn't exactly satisfy Maggie's curiosity either. "Who?" She leaned in a little. "Who's your maybe?" She REALLY wanted to know. "I promise I won't tell." And she actually had every intention of keeping that promise too. Just saying.

What?! No. Nope. Not going to happen. There was no way she'd speak to Zeke about how he felt about her. She was perfectly content with not knowing. The last time they even came close to it because of that stupid gossip thingy she had thought she would lose her best friend. Hady wasn't taking anymore chances. "Why? We're friends and that's what's important." These questions were confusing her and she shrugged her shoulders unsure. "He's my BEST friend. That's all. I care about him." As a best friend. Nothing more Maggie. Nothing.

"I'll tell you one only because you and no one else here knows him. His names Jaxon and he's- or uh was a friend from home." Hady wrinkled her nose in displeasure about talking about him. Could they change the subject now? Whether Maggie promised or not that's all she was saying.

Why? "Because maybe you're missing out." That was all Maggie was going to say on the matter though. She was in no position to tell Hady what to do or interfere with her life like that. Not after the other girl had just sort of cheered her up. Or at least distracted her enough for her to stop moping. So she owed her in a way. Which was why she only nodded in reply to the other girl's next words. Right.

Jaxon. Well that was a little disappointing, seeing as Maggie didn't know the guy. But it was still interesting. "But you never did?" Kiss him, that is. Also she had in fact noticed the use of past tense there when she'd been talking about how they were...or HAD been...friends back home. Hmm.

Missing out? How could she be missing out on something with Zeke when he had kissed Maggie. Maggie whom she just so happened to be talking with right this very second! Hady stared at the other girl for a long time before shaking her head. "I doubt that." There wasn't anything else to say. To say something NOW to Zeke might just mess up whatever friendship they did have.

"Nope. We're not friends anymore." Once more she shrugged. It was nothing she cared to remember. What was in the past was in the past. Sighing softly she chewed on her lower lip in thought as she ran a hand through her hair. Great, thanks Maggie now she couldn't get the thought out of her mind.

Maggie gave her a loooooong look. Then just shrugged. Suit yourself. Thinking about it now, she wasn't entirely sure what she was trying to do here anyway. Her whole plan of getting them to talk to each other about stuff from last year had definitely backfired so she should probably just let it go. Plus it was a lot more complicated now.

Oh. So Hady and that Jaxon person weren't friends anymore. Right. Yes. She'd gotten that. Not that it strictly answered her question about kissing but in a way it did, too. No kisses for Hady. "Boys are dumb." Sometimes. You know. It felt like the right thing to say at the moment. Maggie was being supportive and stuff. Mhm.

The look she was getting from the other girl had her raise an eyebrow in question. "Hm?" Was there something going on she didn't know about? Why did it matter anyway. Hady shrugged as well before tilting her head at Maggie. "Do you know something I don't know?" Is that what all these questions were about. These questions going way back into last year as well.

"No." Hady shook her head laughing quietly. "Just him." Only Jaxon was dumb. HE was the one fighting with her. He had ended their friendship. Not her. Every other boy was just fine in her book. Some were even better then fine but yeah it didn't matter anymore.

Did she know something Hady didn't?

Maggie briefly considered nodding. It would've been easy. Only the truth was that she really didn't. She was quiet for a long moment, eyes on her hands in her lap. In the end she went with something that would lighten the mood. "I know more about snogging probably." Too soon? To cover up for any awkwardness she might have felt, Maggie offered the other girl a small smirk.

Just Jaxon was dumb? "It's not just him." For well obvious reasons. Although it might have been a bit harsh to say that ALL boys were dumb. Some of her closest friends were boys after all. And they weren't dumb.

The comment Hady received in return was not at all what she had expected to hear. At the most she assumed she would get a nod or possibly a shrug, maybe even a 'maybe' from Maggie. Only she got a reply about knowing more about snogging. Despite the moment Hady shook her head and laughed returning the grin smirk with one of her own. "Probably." It was the truth. Maggie had kissed someone and she hadn't. A simple fact she wasn't at all afraid to admit. "Only that wasn't exactly what I meant. I mean do you know something involving Zeke and I that I don't know?" That was why she had been asking about her wanting to kiss him right and why she told her to speak with him. She knew something.

"He's the only one I find dumb right now." Once more being truthful for the win! Casting a glance at Maggie she grinned. "Most guys aren't that bad. They're usually easier to talk to."

Probably, yeah. "Definitely, really." Since they'd already established that Hady hadn't even kissed anyone. So there was that. Maggie definitely had more experience than her. Which was the reason she'd dragged Zeke into this little arrangement they had in the first place. Or, well, HAD had.

Speaking of, though, Hady apparently was not going to just let it go that easily. "Are you asking me if he talked about you with me?" Maggie replied with a question, buying some time to figure out an appropriate reply to Hady's original question. DID she know more? Probably not. It was confusing.

And she was probably not the right person to ask.

Since they were talking about Hady right now, Maggie wasn't going to disagree with her. "Well, anyway, that Jaxon guy isn't here so you can...go find someone else you might maybe wanna kiss." She offered a small grin, half-joking, half-serious. "We can make you a list!" Ooh. Yes. Sorry Hady.

Maggie just shrugged at her last comment. She wasn't sure if that applied to herself really.

No need to be technical Maggie. It was already a given that she had more 'experience' in this topic. By way of reply Hady lifted her shoulders in a shrug. It didn't even matter to her. When the time came it would happen.

"Has he?", she commented right back. "You asked me how I felt about him so I wanna know why now." Yeah, why Maggie. Why was it so important to know her feelings for her best friend. Clear things up a bit here for her.

Hady huffed at that. "He's not here and I'm glad now." And then what? Find someone else she wanted to kiss? Seriously?! What made her think she 'wanted' to kiss anyone?

A LIST!

Hady just blinked at the girl in front of her. "A list? Are you being serious right now?" And then she smirked at Maggie. "You know what. Okay. We can make me one...if we make you one."

Sorry. Yeah no she wasn't.

See, now Maggie could truthfully answer Hady's questions though. That had been a genius move. She shook her head. "Nope. He hasn't." Pause. "It's not like we're...close. Or like, talk about stuff, you know." They weren't even friends really. To be honest she didn't really know much about him so there.

Why had asked Hady though? "I'm just curious." That was...pretty much it, mhm.

The huff was noted but Maggie wasn't sure what to make of it. She'd been kidding really. Well, not entirely because it WOULD be interesting to see Hady kiss someone. Only who? It apparently wasn't going to be Zeke. But maybe she was one step closer to finding out seeing as Hady seemed to be into the list-idea. "I already have one!" Well. She had that boyfriend list. Maybe she needed a new one for like....snogging partners or something, though.

Seeing as her previous one was out of the picture now.

"Actually, no, we can both make one." She paused, considering Hady. "So....what do you like?" Maggie had learned her lesson about asking this question right but this sounded like a good way to put it, yes?

Hady wasn't sure how Maggie's answer made her feel. Or more so what she had been expecting to hear. She was never mentioned. That was okay. It did make sense when Maggie had told her earlier all they really did was snog. So no time for talking.Thinking this over she nodded her head. Okay.

Curious. So she was she but she had stopped asking questions. Maybe she didn't want to know. Or maybe she was afraid of what she'd find out.

However at Maggie's admittance to having a list already Hady laughed and the laughter continued when it became a fact that there would be list making. This wasn't at all what she had in mind when she found the other girl sitting before the fireplace.

Her laughter was dying down as she tried to answer the question. What did she like. In guys right? Since that's what they were talking about here. "Uh, someone I'm comfortable around. I can be me with confidence and he can do the same." No changing to please the other.

THEY WERE DOING THIS!

Maggie quickly pulled out her wand to summon a sheet of parchment and a pen from the study tables. Now. She was ready. She could always copy it into her journal later since she didn't feel like getting it from her dorm right now. So this parchment would have to do for now. Looking up again, she watched Hady curiously, waiting for her to start listing things.

Why did everyone start with these kinds of things?

It made Maggie wonder sometimes.

Nonetheless, she added it to Hady's list. 'Comfortable around each other.' "So you'd like wanna be friends first?" Was that it? Or how else would they be completely comfortable around each other? "What hair color or eye color and stuff do you like best?" HMM???

Hady watched Magge pull out her wand and summon some parchment and a pen? Pens worked and having Maggie taking this down for her was easier. She would be able to think and talk without worrying about writing it all done.

As strange as the topic was it was oddly interesting. This was stuff that she hadn't really given much thought to. Sure she had an idea of what she wanted and what she liked just like every other fourteen year old female but these details never formed anything in her mind.

"We don't "have" to be friends first but it would be a start. You know, not so awkward really. I don't don't have to know everything about the guy but knowing him a little would help." Being herself around them would help me Uh... hair and eyes color? Hady tilted her head to the side studying her dorm mate. "I don't see why this mattersite much but dark hair and light eyes. I like the combination of the two together....they I like dark eyes are well, dark eyes are mysterious at times." Mysterious yet warm and open. Didn't every girl basically want the same thing? Probably not. It all went on what they wanted or needed.

Okay, but seriously, why did no one think appearances were important? Hady, too, said that she didn't see why they mattered. But at least her dorm mate had an answer to her question. So dark hair and light eyes. She wrote that, then stopped to look up. "So, dark or light eyes?" It was either the one or the other. Well, there were some eyes that could probably be considered to be somewhere in between that but still. She had to pick.

She tapped her pen against her thigh and watched the other girl.

Glancing over Maggie's shoulder at the parchment she saw that she had actually added the 'friends first' bit. Hady nodded at this satisfied that the girl was actually listening to her on this.

Taking notice to Maggie looking at her shrugged. "Looks matter but it's not everything, your know?" Surely she did. Looks were great but a fun guy, someone should could get along with was good too.

Why did she have to make a choice? Eye color didn't matter. Just a guy with nice eyes. Warm eyes that could make her smile. Hady looked at Maggie and laughed quietly. "Dark." Just like his hair. A sense of mystery and wonder. "It'd help if he wasn't incredibly taller then me too but that doesn't entirely matter since everyone is taller them me." She grinned trying not to laugh again. Even some of the firsties were bigger then her.

Maggie smirked slightly and nodded. Looks DID matter. Even Hady said so. And, like, she'd never insinuated that looks were everything. But they did matter. And sometimes looks were ALL that mattered too. "Depends on what you're looking for too I guess." Ah yes, that sounded wise, didn't it?

She was just full of wisdom tonight.

Dark eyes then. Maggie added it to the list, already thinking about who would fit that description. And no tall guys. Or not TOO tall. "Makes sense, you ARE incredibly short." She agreed with a small grin. No offense. Just being honest. "Any preferences as to which house?" She paused. "Assuming it'll be someone who goes here." It WAS kind of hard to meet guys who didn't go to hogwarts though. Like, maybe during breaks.

Everyone tends to look for something different. So what they both were saying made a great deal of sense. "And if you have no clue what you're looking for...well then you just wing it." Mhmm. Cause sometimes just going with the flow was the best option.

Giving Hagan a light scratch behind his ears her attention once more went to Maggie and her list. Yes. Thank you very much Maggie for pointing out the obvious here. She was well aware of how tall she was not. "Yeah I know, soooo it would be nice if he wasn't incredibly taller or at least if he didn't care." Nods. "Nope not really. His house doesn't matter to matter if we both get along alright." She could deal with any of the houses. Did Maggie already have people in mind or were these just general questions?

Maggie nodded enthusiastically. "Yes, sometimes you just have to be...flexible, spontaneous." Some people might even call it opportunistic. It was good though, or so she'd learned. Sort of. It could also end badly. But then again nobody could take that experience from her. So no, she didn't regret the snogging. ~~The caring maybe.~~

Didn't care that she was short? "Oh. Boys like that." Maggie stated with a nod. Yes boys liked short girls, as long as they were also fit and stuff. Which Hady clearly was. Yes Maggie knew all the things. As for the house though, she just shrugged. Keeping her options open sounded like a good idea probably. There were weird ones in every house after all.

"Aaaand age? How old? Age difference?" hmm??

Now there was something Hady usually wasn't. Or we'll not during the school year while here at Hogwarts. Though it's not like it would hurt really cause what was the worst that could happen. She'd get detention or expelled or something. Not that it'd be likely that she did something that would result in either thing happening. Only what type of spontaneous was Maggie speaking of? Rather then question her or truly reply Hady simply nodded in agreement.

Boys liked short girls. Well okay then. If that was the case then Hady had this in the bag! She was as small as one fourth year girl could be. Shifting forward she checked out the list. It appeared to be coming along decently so far.

The next question made the brunette shrug her shoulders. "Close to my age. A year or two older wouldn't be bad either but that's about it." To much older then that and her father would freak and well she didn't feel like dealing with that right now. The closer to her age the better.

Maggie, too, looked down at the list when Hady did, then up to see what the other girl was thinking. Pretty good, huh? It looked about ready. Like, they could start looking for possible candidates. They would have to make sure the boys weren't already dating someone else too. It would be a lot more complicated if they had to get rid of a girlfriend first.

Not impossible but more complicated.

A year or two older. Maggie nodded. "So, like, fourth, fifth or sixth year?" That made sense. To be honest, she wouldn't want to date someone who was TWO years older than her but this was Hady's list. Although Maggie would probably look for someone in fifth year. Mhm. That sounded like a good age.
