One of the most rewarding things you can do in your seven years at Hogwarts is win the House Cup and having tasted that victory last term I found that I rather fancy it. It is not an easy feat, but with a little elbow grease and a little perseverance anything is possible.
In the common room, a poster of a lion may be found on the wall by the pasteboard. Here, Professor Flamsteed, your Head of House, will display the names of the top five achieving students and leave a few words of wisdom. These names will be updated on a regular basis, so be sure to keep up with classes and homework if you hope to glimpse your name on this prestigious list. The lion is enchanted, and will purr affectionately when approached by one of the top students, however if you have been lazy, don't worry too much. He can't hurt you, though he might try to take a swipe at you with his paw. Good things he's just a poster.
How can you hope to see your name on this list? Simply attend all your classes, complete any homework assignments in a timely manner, and perform random acts of kindness, chivalry, and bravery. You never know when your actions may be rewarded!

OOC: Welcome to the Roar Awards! Here I will post the top five students with the highest house points. To give Gryffindor a fighting chance at winning the Cup this term, all you need to do is get involved. Lessons and homework will earn you points, unless of course you break the rules, then you will lose points. But the main point is to keep spirits high and do whatever you're comfortable with. Just have fun!
This award is purely OOC and should not be used as a means of identifying your character's position within the house or academic stature within the school as a whole. Welcome, WELCOME...to another year at Hogwarts, Gryffindors. I trust by now you have all settled into something resembling a routine by now and I am pleased by the tenacity I have observed thus far from each and every one of you. Few hiccups aside, that is.
