| | Restricted Section The restricted section of the library is as the name implies restricted. In this roped off and locked section you will find old fragile books and tomes. Some of the texts are dark and dangerous and therefore cannot be kept where just anyone can get a hold of them. Should you need to access to this area to retrieve a book, you need to seek out the librarian; Mr Kitridge with a signed permission slip from a professor. This will allow you to obtain the book you need.
Do not enter the restricted section without permission . It is not advisable and any students found in the restricted section without permission will be punished. Mr Kitridge is happy to help but some books are just dangerous and too dark. |

Following Leo's lead, Paul sauntered over to the...dun dun DUUUUUUN--the Restricted Section. What an ominous name, really. It almost made it more interesting for students not allowed here...to want to sneak in here. But he was sure Leo had the place all covered with charms and whatnot--Merlin, he hadn't even THOUGHT about charming his Greenhouses--hmmm.
"I can remember the first time I EVER asked permission for a book in here--Fifth year, OWL studies..." he shivered at the thought of them. Tests were...stressful for Paul. He was such a perfectionist with his own work...with his own abilities.
He didn't want to touch any of the books here. Some nasty, dark stuff...some just plain WEIRD stuff...nope. "Do you often have students trying to get in here without permission?"

Turning off the alarm switch as they entered the section Leo cautioned Paul."Don't listen to any of the books while we are in here or answer them back or even look at one too long. The most evil and dark tomes can enchant you if you aren't alert." Pulling out his wand Leo made his security check of the charms and locks of the nearest bookcase and then moved onwards assuming that Paul was following.
At the next bookcase he unlocked one of the locks as Leo pulled out a book from one of his many robe pockets and placed it on the shelf. With care he locked the lock again before he stole a glance at Paul curiously. "What book did you want to read for your OWL studies?"
Moving to the bookcase that had held the book that was now in the care of the ministry he cast a series of extra spells before Leo answered Paul's question. "Some students have time tried over the years to explore in here but none luckily have gotten further than the entrance before I've stopped them."

"Some students have time tried over the years to explore in here but none luckily have gotten further than the entrance before I've stopped them." Oh DEAR. That surely did sound ominous! Paul covered his ears for a moment and looked around...anxiously. Well then. Way to make the fellow nervous, Leo! He just nodded and let his hands down to hang at his sides leisurely once more. "Oh gosh...I don't even remember, Leo..so LONG ago..it was for Transfiguration, though, I know that." He....was almost sure of it. Almost.
He wanted to touch the spines of some of the books..instinctively...but he refrained from doing so. This section was so creepy. But it was also...necessary. The students sometimes needed access to these higher level stuff. "Oh gosh...rule breaking...the thought of it makes me shiver--" which he was doing right now, of course, as if he were cold or something. " I'd hate to take points...oh, I dread that--I dread it so much--I hope I never have to take points from anyone---EVER."
Was that dramatic?

Was that dramatic? Ahem. Leo shot a glance over at Paul with worry, he hoped he hadn't unnerved what he hoped was his new buddy too much. It wasn't his intent at all. It was just the whole section that made Leo extra cautions and on edge and he didn't want anything to happen to his new colleague and potential new friend while they were in there. Attempting to apologize and explain at the same time Leo said "Sorry Paul, it was not my intent to make you nervous at all it's just in here you can't be too cautious. The books can really attack you." "A book for transfiguration," Leo repeated as he started to lead Paul out of the section again. "Like about animagus transformations or something?" He wondered curiously but he wasn't expecting Paul really to remember since it was such a long time ago. Leo wasn't sure he himself what book he had loaned many years ago if someone had asked him.
Smiling Leo almost reached out to pet Paul's arm as he commented quietly "I think you have to prepare for yourself to take points from the students. They aren't perfect, they'll make mistakes and will most probably break rules that you'll need to deduct house points for as punishment. It's the only way they'll learn right from wrong. If it's any consolation I'm not a fan of deducting points either but if its warranted in a situation then I do it. Let's go check out the bookshelves next. I need to put up a sign there."
