The first you see is the fishing gear hanging on pins left of the doorway. The librarian is a bit fishing obsessed so he has brought some fishing equipment if time lets him explore the great lake’s fishing possibilities. The next thing you feel is cozy warmth emanating from the roaring fire place nearby. Remembering the chilliness of the halls and rooms in the castle from his years here Mr Kitridge has taken steps to see too that at least one place is warm and comfortable. In the center of the office you see what should be a desk under all the stuff currently placed on it like charts, crammers, stacks of books, an odd telescope or crystal ball and last but not least a big bowl of candy. Behind the desk, a large comfy chair with a pillow in it is situated.
Hanging on the walls around the office are portraits of former notable librarians like Madam Pince, Madam Rowena, Angela Kohan, David Kapoor and Madam Donovan. The collection of portraits/photographs is completed with some Kitridges who've been successful in some way or other through the course of time. No office of a librarian is complete without a curvy s-shaped bookshelf.
OCC: I will not have an arrival thread so please don't clog up the thread with 'waiting to enter' posts. Have your character knock on the door and then wait for Mr Kitridge to allow you to enter or to come back later. If you have any questions or want to set up a meeting don't hesitate to PM or VM me.
"Evening, Mr Kitridge!" But before she could respond to anything else on why she was here or about a cupcake, someone was behind her. "Hey Kate," she smiled warmly at the younger eagle, before turning back to the librarian. "I'd love a cupcake. Looks like you got several colours available too." She peered at the tray. "I just wanted to talk about ... well, next year will be my last at Hogwarts, and I have no idea really what I want do when I leave." She had interests and talents, sure, but nothing really stuck out so far as a 'calling'. Maybe something with Herbology, but she wasn't sure if it was just an interest or something she thoroughly enjoyed.

She guessed he'd send her on her way if he was too busy or something.
Approaching the door, Kate saw Mr. Kittridge standing outside of it greeting Tia. "Hey, Mr. Kittridge! Hey, Tia!" Kate said. Well, this was convenient. She didn't even have to knock.
Catching a glance at his wrist watch at Tia's words he realized just how late it was. How had time gone by so fast? Leo was though still in the mood for coffee and cupcakes so that was what he was going to have unless he on second thought should switch it to tea. Coffee would make it harder to fall asleep later.
Nodding Leo regarded the sixth year on his doorstep. "It's sensible to start thinking about what you want to do after Hogwarts now Tia with a year left. I can provide some career advice or at least help steer you towards a possible job or field."
Stepping aside to allow Tia inside his office Leo was about to turn with the tray and close the door when he heard approaching footsteps that turned into belonging to another eagle; third year Kate Addison. Smiling broadly at Kate he greeted. "Evening Kate, want to come in for a cupcake? I'm giving Tia some career advice. Or did you wish to speak with me privately?"

Ohh, so Tia wasn't too annoyed, or even annoyed at all, with the presence of another person. There was even a mention of cupcakes, too, which definitely meant that Kate had come at the perfect time. Who walked up to a professor's office while the professor was standing there at the door AND offering cupcakes?! Yeah, that didn't happen too often.
"Good evening," she echoed to her Head of House. YES! She had been offered a cupcake! "I would LOVE a cupcake!" She shook her head. "No, this isn't a visit that needs to be private. I'm just here visiting you, since I haven't come by all year." She decided to linger around in place a little bit longer, so Tia could enter first. After all, the girl was here right before Kate. Also, she didn't want to seem TOO eager for a cupcake. Even though she most definitely was.

Smiling Leo said looking from one eagle teen girl to the other. "Okay then if Tia doesn't have any objections then please come inside my office both of you and we'll eat and chat." Grining at Kate he said "Cupcakes are happy food don't you agree?" Leo let TiaMarie and Kate head inside his office before him as closed the door after them. Heading over to his desk with the cupcake tray Leo asked both of them. "Now, what do you guys want to drink with your cupcakes? Lemonade? Tea?" He doubted that they drank coffee like he did. They were both pretty young and coffee took some getting used to.
Gesturing for Kate and TiaMarie to take a seat in the comfy chairs provided in his little meeting area. Leo soon joined them setting down the cupcake tray along with mugs, glasses and bevarages. Grabbing a cupcake with pink frosting on it which made him think of Cassie he asked. "So how has the year been for you two? Eager for summer to start?"

Penelope knocked on the door to Mr. Kitridge's office. Ravenclaw angst. It was happening. One of the things that she didn’t understand was why teenage angst seemed to be associated with Ravenclaws. Why did they call it Ravenclaw angst? You never heard anyone talking about Gryffindor angst, Slytherin angst, or Hufflepuff angst. Penelope was sure that angst was not exclusively a Ravenclaw thing. Why was the stereotypical Ravenclaw book smart and oozing angst? Maybe it had something to do with students in the other houses being less philosophical about life. What was life? Perhaps that question was best saved for another time.
The stress about OWLs was getting to her. She was way more worried about OWLs than she should be. What OWLs she passed would determine what NEWTs she could take, which would somehow determine what sort of career she would have and if she would go to Wizarding University. She was only 15 years old. How was she supposed to figure out what she wanted to do for the rest of her life? What was life? School was supposed to prepare her for the rest of her life. It seemed like everything was done in preparation for some other thing that could never fully be achieved. She didn’t have a social life. Did she even have any friends? Had she ever had any real friends at Hogwarts? She didn’t spend much time socializing with other people, and mostly just focused on studying. Maybe she needed more friends. Penelope waited outside the office, wondering if Mr. Kitridge was there and still thinking about everything. It was impossible to stop thinking, she was always about something.

The study frenzy that always hit the library in the months prior to the final exams and especially OWL's and NEWT's was in full swing. Leo had stopped counting how many times he had been doing up and down aisles in search of a book or text or how many times he had pushed trolleys around the bookcases to put up returned books again. Leo loved the business of the library, the occasional chatter and spells being practiced by students. It could however get to be just a little too much sometimes even for him.
After putting out a fire and lecturing a student about safety, library rules and common sense when choosing where to practice what spells without losing his cool Leo headed to his office. He needed just a few minutes to clear his head or he may just do or say something he'd regret. Approaching his office he spotted Penelope Wright on his office doorstep. Taking long breaths and plastering on warm smile even though Leo wanted nothing more than to snap at the moment, he greeted the eagle girl cheerily. "Hello Penelope, it's nice to see you. What can I do for you today?" Please let it not be a request for help with finding a book on breeding fwoopers.

Kate didn't think Tia would have any objections. I mean, who would be THAT rude to make someone leave and come all the way back later? Kate guessed the girl might do that if she had come for a private matter, but apparently she hadn't. "Thanks, Mr. Kittridge and Tia," she said. Kate followed the two of them into the office.
Kate nodded. "I LOOOOVE cupcakes," she said. "Especially decorated cupcakes." She tried to peer at the cupcakes, trying to get a closer look. "Did you decorate yours?" She kind of doubted it, but who knew. She'd eat them regardless. "I'll take some lemonade, please." Merlin. She should come here more often. Mr. Kittridge had ALL THE SNACKS just free for the taking!
"The year's been pretty cool," she said. "It's a lot more awesome being in second place than it is last." It wasn't first place, but she'd take it. Next year, though, it was ON. She shrugged. "Yeah, I guess I'm ready for a break. What about you? What do you do during the break?"

Tia shook her head about having objections to Kate being there. It wasn't as if she was talking about anything terribly personal or private and who knows? The advice Leo gave her might actually be of benefit to Kate as well.
"Tea would be great, thanks," Tia said graciously, as she took one of the seats by his desk. Fiddling her thumbs nervously, she waited a moment as she contemplated the thoughts running through her head. There were several possibilities and one field or subject matter just stood out even more strongly this year than ever before. Perhaps Myers was just the sort of role model she needed to let her strengths shine? Biting her lower lip thoughtfully, she finally spoke again, figuring Kate and Leo were probably counting on it. She had been there first and requested to see Leo for advice and she doubted he was a master Legilmens and could see all that was on her mind. "More than eager for the summer, but well, I'll miss the castle," she laughed, as she still worked at finding the words. "Anyway, so I've been thinking more and more that I want to do something involving Herbology. But I'm also greatly in awe of Advanced Transfiguration, so I was wondering about somehow combining those two subjects ... if there was a field out there that would use both of them, but not rely necessarily on one or the other."

Pausing over his cupcake Leo asked Kate curiously "How can you decorate cupcakes aside from using frosting?" Putting his cupcake down Leo poured up a glass of cold pear lemonade which he pushed across the table towards Kate. "Next year you'll have more classes as you are eligible to take electives. Decided on what subjects you're going to take?" Ancient Runes, Divination, Muggle Studies and CoMC were all great classes.
Picking up his cupcake again Leo took a big bite out of it as he considered Kate's question. "I'm looking forward to some break time too. I do mostly the same as you do, hang out with family and friends and my girlfriend and stock up on new clothes and such." And of course relax and enjoy not having to worry for a few weeks about eagle students and their possible antics.
Smiling over at Tia as he poured up a cup of steaming green tea for her Leo grinned. "Hogwarts has always been hard to not miss since it's so easy to love." Especially when it was a home for so many. Then they quickly moved into the reason for Tia's visit. Career advice. Pushing the teacup across the table to Tia he listened attentively as shared her thoughts with him. She wondered if there was a career that combined transfiguration and herbology. Pouring up a cup of coffee for himself to give him a moment or two extra Leo said finally "If you want to combine those subjects then my first thought would be to look at careers at the Ministry of Magic or at St Mungos. Would you like to work with people and potentially heal them?"
