Obstacle Course

Upon entering the Training Hall, one will notice that at the west section of the hall, an obstacle course has been set up.

Here, there are a number of different challenges, from bars to walls to windows and doors to a foam pit, that students can use to practice maneuvering through a variety of environments. Physical training is encouraged over magical practice, but one never knows when a good placed spell might come in handy to get over, around, under or through an obstacle.

The rule in this section of the hall is simple. Don't break yourself.

If you have questions, concerns or would like demonstrations, speak to Professor Dakest. He will poke his head in here intermittently.

Apart from wanting to get over his fear of heights, Yoongi wanted to train on his body as well. He remembered being completely out of breath last year while running for help and just feeling really weak in general. Plus it did not hurt working on his condition. At first he had wanted to jog outside. But that was until he knew there was an obstacle course at the training hall.

So, very early in the morning, Yoongi entered the training hall on the first floor and walked to the west section to the obstacle course. He was wearing a simple white tank top and black fitness pants and gym shoes he asked his sister to send by owl.

After doing some warm up stretches, the Gryffindor walked to a bar and looked at it. Going under it would be really easy, even he could do that and he wanted to build some muscle so over it it was. He took a deep breath in and out and jumped up, grabbing the bar with his hands and puuuuuushed himself up. His arms were shaking as he tried to get his head over the bar and when he finally managed to do it he was out of breath already and awkwardly hang over the bar.

He had a loooong way to go.

Feeling that his arms started to hurt from keeping himself upright in the air, Yoongi lowered himself down and as he hang over the bar he wondered how he was going to get back on the ground. Should he just? Drop himself or..what? This course was a lot scarier than what he first thought…. He struggled forward until his upper body was near the ground and then his legs swung with it.

With a terrified cry, the Gryffindor landed on the floor and rubbed his back when he sat back up. He glared up at the high bar , wishing he wasn’t so weak. But giving up were words he never heard of before! If he could get out of the forbidden forest he could do this obstacle course!

Getting up from the ground, Yoongi walked, not ran or jogged but simply walked to the next bar. This one was either the same height as the previous one or even higher. And there was a mat a bit further away. Was he supposed to swing on the bar and drop on the blue mat? He scratched the back of his already sweaty neck. “ewww” he muttered as he wiped his hands on his tank top.

Seriously though, why had he even come here without any instructions first? He didn’t even know what to do with half of these things here. Maybe he should call for help….but that would mean anyone would know that he was training and...that was a bit embarrassing? Unless he masked it as something else, he was good at that? Ugh he needed motivation…someone shoot spells at him please >_<

Kaycee headed to the obstacle course. She was sporting workout clothes and her hair was already thrown up in a messy bun. Dante was in for trouble.

She was starting to think that he just let her get away with stuff because he secretly liked owing her things.

She came up next to him and started stretching. "You ready for this?" she asked with a grin.

Dante had just started stretching when he heard the voice he was waiting for. Perfect timing. "Please, of course i am ready. Ready to win"

Dante said grinning. Though they should get somethings straight before they start. Because it would be a cause of concern in the fairness of what they were doing.

"So you want to do this strictly the muggle way and no magic or allow some spells"

He was fine with either

Kaycee playfully nudged him. "Puh-leeeease. You're going to have a hard time just keeping up." There was no way he was winning. Nope.

And even if Dante, by some miracle, was beating her, she had a secret weapon. She happened to know that Dante couldn't handle any sort of female emotion. Hehehe. She found that out over the summer when one simple pout unlocked a door of Dante!secrets.

She touched her toes and then looked over the course. "I vote the muggle way." That would make things more fair.

And mostly because she didn't know what type of spells you even use on an obstacle course.

"We will see" He was faster than he looked. Though she would totally win at mind games when it comes down to it. She was on another level when it came to those. But unless she had been here before. It was a first time for the both of them here.

"No magic sounds good"

Dante was finally done stretching and ready to make a fool of himself again in front of her. Because if last time was not bad enough for his behind. Now here he was in a obstacle course. Still, it should be fun regardless.

"Ready when you are"

Running up to the course Echo wanted to get some exercise in while she could, one could forget to do anything and just eat, eat, and eat everything in sight here.

making it to the front of the line she instantly saw Colt.. ughh great just great. "excuse me, you just going to stand there or can i go by you?" she asked him while her arms were crossed tapping her foot.

As Colt was busy getting his shoes off, he heard someone ask him something. He turned his head and he saw the one girl who got on his nerves at the feast. He rolled his eyes and figures she would be his partner. "No I am not gonna stand here, I am gonna go onto this obstacle course. IF you wanna join me you can.." he offered with a little attitude because she gave him one. He even chuckled at the arms crossed and tapping of the foot. It is something his cousins sister would do when she is mad. Typical chick thing I guess.

Kaycee just smirked. Ooh, Dante. You silly silly boy. There was no way he was going to come out of this experience a winner. She'd get the last laugh, so to speak, no matter the outcome of this race.

"Have you been through this before?" she asked peering into the course. "Are we just going in blind?" Which would be fine with her. Or they could do a trial run. She was cool either way.

As long as there wasn't like... a water pit with alligators.

Speaking of... "There's not like... an alligator water pit thing we'll have to monkey bar or something over, right?"

Because that could be a school liability. Plus alligator eyes freaked her out. As did alligator boots. Eww. Gross. There better not be a pit of those either.

"Nope First Time for Me and i guess we are....should be fun"

Well it should be until she brought an alligator water pit. No that was scary to think about. But Dante at least trusted Dakest not to install that in this obstacle. Well lets say 60 percent trusted because you never know. this is Hogwarts after all.

"I doubt they would have one. I don't think they want more fatalities at the school and if you are scared i will just go first and tell you if i see one"

Though that would mean the race had been started and Dante would have a lead.

Kaycee nodded. She was cool with going in blind. It made things more interesting. Or dangerous. Or both. Why couldn't it be both?

"Me? Scared? Pfft." she replied with a wave of her hand. HELLLLLLO. She was a Gryffindor. Remember?

If there were alligators, she totally would have gone for it if she was dared. Stupid hat knowing that she was reckless. She was just wanting to... you know... prepare for it. Not wanting to be caught off guard was completely different from being scared.

COMPLETELY, OKAY!?

Okay. Good. Now that they had that settled...


"I'm ready now. Readysetgo." she said in a rush before setting off into the course. Just try to keep up Barrington. She was kidding, of course. He should stay back there. Behind her. 'Twas the gentleman thing to do.

Dante was of course kidding. She was a Gryffindor after all. But you sometimes need the motivation to go in a unknown obstacle course. Even if you trust Dakest. You never know what is in there and that is pretty terrifying. But Dante would never admit it out loud.

Wait, WHAT.

THAT was a quick Ready, Set, Go.

Dante grinned as ran after her. Behind her of course like a gentlemen. Plus there was the whole not being able to overtake her. But yeah lets go with the gentleman thing.

Merlin, she was fast. Well at least faster than him. "I WILL BEAT YOU TO THAT FOAM PIT"

And slowly he was catching up and climbing over stuff. Though the bars were a challenge. At least he thought he was catching up.

Kaycee was in the lead! She could tell because she couldn't see Dante. Logic! Bam. Who said Gryffindors weren't intelligent?

Run. Run. Run. Jump. Climb.Climb. Cliiiiiiiiimb.

Where was Dante anyway? Being a gentleman? She half expected him to be on her heels or at least breathing in a way she could hear him.

Kaycee nearly lost her footing. "You could of killed me." she said dramatically repositioning herself on the climbing bars. So yeah, he probably was going to beat her to the foam pit.

DUDE. Foam pit. They were SOO tackling each other into that later. Falling into foam pits was fun.

"Ever fall into one of those?" she asked heading toward the pits.

Dante would be laughing out loud of not for the fact he was still climbing, running, doing climbing bars. Well alright. Not like he was going to question what Dakest put in here. He probably put some other random things in here out of pure boredom. Just not a water pit with a crocodile or anything like that. Now that wouldbe outrageous.

"Could have, but didn't. I don't think a Gryffindor would die that easily"

Dante said grinning. He had basically caught up now. But he was falling behind a little because of laughing at scaring her. It was just to great not to laugh at. "Nope not yet. I want to get one at home for my bike because it would be awesome to jump into". That was true. Foam pits were awesome.


They were almost there.

"Just don't hog the foam pit all to yourself"

"I said you could have killed me, Dante." Kaycee said in an exaggerated voice. Keyword, ALMOST. She had killer reflexes and she wasn't that jumpy.

She eyed his grin. Smug Dante. At lease it wasn't a smirk. She was impossible around smirks. It was a good thing Kyroh was the only one that knew that. She had a feeling someone would try to use that against her.

Not that she'd complain. Hehehe. Smirks.

Ahem. Wait. When did Snake Boy get in the lead? She slowed her pace. He hadn't been in one before?

Hehehe.

She slowed her pace. She wanted to tackle him into the pit when they got close enough.

AND THEN... Kaycee with the tackle into the foam pit. She surfaced and then grinned slowly. "I was planning on sharing it with you." Like the good friend she was.

Well, he had the lead before you know. He got TACKLED. Like he was ever going to expecting that. Well he was planning on jumping into it. But you know.

"I call foul play" Dante said smirking and throwing a foam block at her.

Because you know, he would expect her to pull something like this. Just not the tackle. But it was awesome.

"Was this your plan from the beginning?"

He should probably try and get out of the foam pit. But it was a foam pit after all.

Kaycee giggled and covered her face as Dante threw the foam block. She had a precious face and it had to be protected. Plus, maybe this way she could hide the smirk she was returning.

Smirks. Aye.

Okay. There really wasn't a point in hiding her smirk. She playfully threw a foam block back. "It miiiiight have been." she replied with a casual shrug.

Please, he should really know better. She bit her lip for a second. "So. What do you think? Enjoying the foam pit?"

Dante ducked under her throw because please he did not want a foam block to hit him square in the face. Not cool even though it would not hurt at all. He threw one more foam block at her half hardheartedly before just collapsing in the pit and laughing.

"Might have been...might as well be a yes coming from you!"

And he loved the foam pit. He did not really want to leave it right now.

"It is awesome and why what are you planning?"

Though he probably did not really want to know. Oh well, he asked.

Kaycee smirked. "Yeah, well, a girl can't tell all her secrets." She let the foam block hit her arm before dramatically clutching the spot for a few seconds.

Ouch, D.

She couldn't keep up the game though. She started laughing. She struggled her way to the surface of the pit so that she was semi-sitting on it.

"Who says I'm planning anything?" Okay. Dumb question. "I just feel like there's a perfect use for a foam pit, but it's escaping me." Which was a frustrating. "You have any ideas?"

Dante rolled his eyes at that remark. If he had to think about it. He did not think he wanted to know all the secrets. Somethings should be left a secret for reasons. And their little game or whatever seemed to be over when she started cracking up.

Which meant Dante had to crack a smile too.

"I am saying you are planning something because you usually are and i can think of many uses for a foam pit that include tackling, throwing foam blocks, and please i am sure you have better ideas than me"

Dante said moving closer to her.

Kaycee had a hard time keeping her laughs at a moderate level. Dante was rolling his eyes, which amused her to no end.

Oh. Hey. He was coming closer. She bit her lip and covertly armed herself with another block. "You're right. I usually am planning something."

She paused for dramatic effect.

"Backflips into this could be fun. Climbing the ladder and swan diving in." She looked around and lowered her voice. "Hiding and then grabbing the ankles and scaring anyone going through." Yes, being a foam pit monster sounds fun.

"Those are the things that come to mind at the moment."

He was more than ready to just say liar and smirk. But look at that, she admitted it. Well Dante was pleasantly surprised. And backflips did sounds like a lot of fun. Or any types of flips into a foam pit. Imagine doing a wall flip and then going directly into a foam pit. Awesome. Though here second idea gave him and idea.

"Really....like this"

Dante said quickly going under the foam, grabbing her ankles, and resurfacing.

He was definitely smirking now.
