Really?!

HOT LAVA!!!

This was sooooo Hady's game! The brunette played it all the time back home. Mainly with her ex-bestie and cousins but yes she knew how to play! This was going to be so easy, all she had to do was make it from one side of the room to the other without touching the floor. Got it.

She'd completed the dueling challenge so this was a walk in the park. Waiting for the countdown to be completed her hazel eyes were already taking in a route of passage to get from point A to point B. Just so no one banged into her.

The moment HOT LAVA was called out Hady was already leaping onto a brightly colored cushion. Everyone around her was hoping about and leaping onto furniture. It made her want to laugh but that would only be a waist of her time. A quick glance to the left showed her an empty cushion followed closely next to a couch. It was go time!

Without any hesitation she leapt from her cushion onto the other and then continued with a longer jump to land knees first on the couch, hands landing on the back of it to hold herself in place. From this position she looked around the room.

She made Henric fell to the 'lava'.

OOOOOOPS???

Ava couldn't help but giggle when she saw the Hufflepuff boy fell down. "I'm so sorry...." She said innocently. What?? She didn't mean to push him away to the lava. It's PURE accident. And didn't he know that he's so cute when he pouted? Hehehe. "And I don't think that really hurts, I'm pretty tiny so I didn't push you really hard." Cue rolling tongue to him. Watching Henric picked up the card, the young lioness was curious what he should do as the challenge.

Oh, Henric was singing! He really had a good voice, huh? Hehehe. Okay, now time to continue jumping again. One, two, three.. HOT LAVA! She jumped to the green cushion and lucky that she didn't fall to the lava like what Henric just did. Hehehe.

Shuffling wasn't going to get him far, his cushion didn't float through lava as easily as he had hoped. BUT... he was closer to an armchair which might actually be the best way to get across to the other side of the room. He was close now, and the cluster of cushions on the chairs opposite side was his hope.

So without thinking, he LAUNCHED himself into the air at the armchair, his tactic was to flop on top of it, and hold tight.

...

The flaw in his plan... he put too much effort into it, and though he made contact with the back part of it, he felt himself continue to slide forward... more and more, and far too quickly, until SMACK! His head his the lava floor.

What a way to die.

Diving head first into lava. Go him.

Rubbing the top of his head, Zeke stood up and read the index card he found at his feet. But what he read made him groan. Noooooooo. Dancing?!?!?!

Dancing for TEN SECONDS. Ten seconds was a long time, when done right, but he hoped nobody was paying attention.

Rising to his feet, Zeke dropped the index card to the floor and started his dance. He was moving and shaking to music that only he could hear, all the while counting down in his head. 10... 9... 8... 7... 6.... 5....4... 321... the last few seconds seemed to be on fast forward as he was quick to abandon the endeavour and hopped onto the armchair for safety.

At least he knew now, the challenges were NOT worth it.

Standing up on the couch she lifted a leg and then another until she could sit on the back of the couch. It was a rather comfortable stop only she couldn't exactly stay there.

She needed to keep going. Getting to her feet (yes on the couch) she swung her arms back and forth to give her that extra push before jumping. She barely made it onto a pink colored cushion having completely skipped over the one before it. Wobbling back and forth a little, arms waving about to steady her balance.

There would be no falling over! Not today!

Her eyes shifting about everywhere for her next move she noticed someone knock into someone else the person falling into the 'lave' and then they had to sing it appeared. She also saw Zeke smash head first into the lava. Ouch! "You okay?!" she called over to him before grinning slightly at his 'dancing' moves. Nice.

Adi was about to make another epic leap when he was distracted by that voice that belonged to Henric. Dear Hippogriffs! He was singing LOL! The seventh year started laughing, tossing back his head. It was the first time he had heard his fellow Puffer sing. "Sooo out of tune, Henny!'' Haha. Naaaah, Henric sounded kinda good, actually.

But too bad for Adi. Maybe if he hadn't been laughing so much and leaning so far back, he wouldn't have lost his balance. "WOOOAH!" Flailing happened and then... BAM! One Hufflepuff Prefect on his butt on the floor. Hmph. BLAME IT ON, HENNY! Yes, this sounded like a plan. Hehe. Anyway, he had to snag a card now, yeah? He did exactly that.

OHH! Pay the Moxinator a compliment!

"Professor Head of House! Your classroom rules for this term are the best!'' Because high fives were EPIC!

RIGHT!

Now back to his purple cushion!

He had heard her call out belatedly, but Zeke flashed Hady a grin and gave her two thumbs up. "All good!" he called out. Unless she was talking about his dancing, was it that bad????

On the last stretch now, Zeke took great care not to touch the 'lava' because singing or dancing just wasn't worth it.

Taking moments to consider distance, proximity to others, and which path would be the most direct and safest route to the finish, Zeke inhaled a deep breath and bending slightly at the knees leapt forward to the next cushion. Using his momentum, he immediately bounced from that one to the next.

And with one final jump, he had made it to the back of the classroom.

Was he allowed to stand on the lava floor now????

Oh my gosh oh my gosh. This was doing okay. He was doing okay. After checking his footing on the cushion, Roo took a leap towards the sofa closest to him, landing smack against the back of it, but landing softly on the seating area instead of the floor as he thought he would. PHEW. He decided then that he would take a seat, checking on the other students in the classroom and what was going on. He made a mental note to avoid the Gryffindor that was pushing people into the 'lava' and was no way going to cross her path if he wanted to do this without landing in the lava.

All of this thinking was distracting him from planning his next move, and the few after that. There was a cushion big enough for him to sit on a few feet away, and he was sure he could at least bum shuffle enough to the left side of the classroom and use a path from over there. Well, he was at least going to try.

Standing, the second year took a deep breath and LEAPED.

OH MY GOSH.

HE HAD LANDED.

........ IN THE LAVA.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

HIS BEST IDEA WAS A FAIL.

See, he just KNEW this was going to be an epic class. Hot lava! They were actually gonna be playing hot lava! He remembered playing that game with Mari at the playground closer to the start of the year. That had been brilliant fun and NOW they got to do it for class? This was the best way to learn and why he would never skip Muggle Studies EVER.

In all his excitement--or maybe it was in spite of it--Blaise looked to his inmate. "We'll never survive the cushions. They won't hold us both. Our only chance is the desks." They were all still basically in neat rows. Couldn't be too hard once they worked it right. Which meant Blaise was in charge because Four Eyes didn't LOOK athletic and there was no way they'd risk the lava.

The boy tugged him over to the first desk and climbed on then scooted to the chair in order to give the other boy a chance to climb onto the desk as well.

"Come on then. Can't be sleeping on an adventure."

Jumping, hey! Jumping, hey! EVERYBODY!!

So far so good, she had been managed her balance to keep jumping from one cushion to another. There's no accidentally fall to the lava yet. Hehehe... Ava still felt guilty about what happened to Henric but hey, it's just a game. There's no need to take it personal, right? Right. She stopped when Zeke was falling into the lava and got his dare. GOSH! His dance was ridiculously funny!

Jumping, hey! Jumping, hey!

The young lioness still continued the jumping. From the cushion to the armchair and then... from the armchair to the cushion again. But she slipped and landed on the hot lava.

Oh no....

Was Bentley pleased that HIS cousin was semi permanently attached to a bespectacled quill thief? Nope.

Was he jealous that his cousin was stuck with him for the entire class? Yes! He was secretly hoping that they both fell and had a bad time doing their activity too. In the mean time Bentley would do so well at his activity that he'd make Blaise totally and completely jealous of him.

As soon the cushions settled, Bentley channeled all his energy into a massive jump unto the cushion. His aim was to land heavily enough so he couldn't lose his balance.

Ha!

Made it.

Hot Lava?!

Umm Benny had to admit, he didn't think he was all to familiar with said game. But as the cushions were let go onto the floor around the couches recliners and chairs and Professor Moxley both explained and demonstrated, the seventh year quickly got the idea. They were pretending to be manuevering around an dangerous obstacle. 'Lava'...that had tasks for them to assorted complete if they 'fell' into said 'lava'. And yes...he saw the look directed his way by Adi not to mention seeing Brooklyn his back-jumper from a couple of years back.

He was just going to be trying his best...alone.

Once the instructions were complete, Benny was on a green cushion to start with, awaiting the countdown to begin. He gazed around his immediate vacinity to look over his options, finally cautiously moving to the edge of the cushion he was on and stretching his leg over so he could try and step onto another. And orange one this time. Putting his wait on his forward foot, the lion tentatively took it off the back and stepped completely onto the new cushion...and was safe.

One move done.

Without singing like poor Henric.

And a little closer to the back of the room as he crossed the entirety of the orange cushion.

Norah stood up on the armchair and looked around. Hmmmm. The big question was where to go next. For once she had no doubt that she'd be able to get wherever she wanted to go. That was the best thing about the hot lava game, it made you feel like the king of the entire world when you survived the lava. Well, maybe that wasn't the best thing considering she was standing on an armchair without being scolded for the first time in the history of ever, but it was really grand too. What a game.

She focused on a cushion on the floor. It was a farther than all the other distances she'd jumped across in the game so far, but from way up there she was sure she could make it. It'd be legendary, like that time she'd jumped from the kitchen table all the way to the counter and knocked over her mum's favorite vase. That story could be told over and over and over again without getting boring. Norah bent her knees and swung her arms forward as she leapt from the arm of the chair in the direction of the cushion she'd chosen. The jump only lasted a split second, but she could tell from the air that she wasn't going to make it. Oh MAN. What happened to being the champion of this game?

This was a karma.

Yeah, karma because she accidentally pushed Henric to the lava and now herself was falling to the lava too. The young lioness then grabbed the card to see what's gonna be her punishment.

"Sing the chorus from your favorite song aloud to the class."

See? Totally a karma. She even got the same punishment as Henric. Ava then start singing the song that just popped on her head recently.

HOT LAVA?!

Seriously?! What kind of game was that? She never heard a hot lava game before. Maybe its a very popular game for muggle kids. And now they're going to do it. Here. Well, at least she didn't have to be a human bowling ball again. Surely its not going to be worst than the last lesson, right? Apparently she spoke too soon.

Index cards for someone who end up in the hot lava? Tasks?

Sigh.

She need to do well and avoid that lava. Avoid the lava, avoid the tasks. Simple!

Once its time to start, Candice quickly and carefully stepped into the couch not far from her starting line. She looked around to find her next stepping 'stone' then her eyes caught a yellow cushion on the floor, carefully she stepped down from the couch and landed safely on the cushion.

And did someone just sang a Pokemon song? Yes, she know Pokemon. She lived in a Muggle neighborhood for a few years.

"Lettuce."

"Lettuce who?"

"Lettuce in."

Yeah that's right, he'd just told himself a knock knock joke. But nobody had asked who was there and he'd gotten tired of waiting. It was time for him to get out of the lava and get back into the game. Oliver jumped onto the cushion he'd been aiming for when he fell.

Jump. Jump. He felt like a frog, leaping from cushion to cushion like a lilypad. Except instead of water, he was like a frog who lived in lava. Except then his path of lilypads ran out and he was stranded, searching for a different route. There was a recliner near him, but facing the wrong direction. Hmmm. Oliver reached out, his fingertips touching the back. If his plan didn't work he would surely topple into the lava. But luckily for him, he managed to tip the chair over and climb over the back. When he climbed onto the seat and leaned forward a bit, the chair tipped back like he had been before.

Jump, jump, jump!

Why walk when you could jump? All that energy had to be put to use that Adi had, right? Soooo it was jump up onto a chair, down onto a pink cushion and so forth. It was a ton of fun and he didn't get out of breath. At least he wasn't as yet. But right now he was pausing. Why? Because Ava was singing too! And she was singing one of those Pokemon theme songs. Yeaaah, he did watch that on occasions though Yu- Gi- Oh had been more of his thing when he was younger.

Anywaaay. More jumping for him! Cushion, cushion, cushion... oh, looky! Another chair! Adi bounced on the cushion he was currently standing on to get momentum to jump properly onto the it. Annnd jummmmp! He landed on the chair, alright but he ended doing some more epic flailing since he had landed almost on the edge of it.

Woops? Hehe.

She sent a grin back towards the lion. Okay good he wasn't hurt and that meant she could keep going.

Hop.

Hop.

Hop.

Like a bunny. Nah. A-a frog! Hady hopped from cushion to cushion with a bright grin on her face. Anyone wanna play leap frog with her?!

That's sort of how she was moving along in a crouched down manner leaping forward onto the next cushion.

What?

If she was going to play like a little kid she might as well go all out with it and have a great time.

HOP!

After his amazing feat of landing perfectly on his first cushion, Bentley eyed a bright green one. It was a little far away but he was certainly going to accept the challenge.

Hahahahaha! Jumper extraordinaire. Was there anyone in here that was better at jumping that he was? Nope nope. He didn't think so. He was the ultimate champion of leap frog, which he often played with his younger brother. Heath was no match for his amazing jumping powers.

Ahem..time for his next great jump.

Woooooooooooooooooooooah! May day may day!

"May day! May day!....." Oh no he was going down....no no he wasn't. Whew!

Bentley caught his balance just in time and let out a triumphant woop!

"Yessssssssssssssssss!"

The nearest safe space was a long couch. Oliver tried to judge the distance. He might be able to jump, but it was fairly far away. He was not sure if he would be able to reach it without falling into the lava. Unless...

Oliver peered over the side of the recliner and reached for the wooden bar. He pulled it up, so the footrest was fully horizontal. Very carefully, Olly crawled to the end of the footrest and regarded the distance to the couch. That was much more manageable. He had to be careful not to put too much weight right on the edge of the footrest, or the chair would tip forward and he would surely fall into the lava. So he perched carefully, and leaped. He landed on all fours on the seat of the couch and crawled along it.The back of the room was so close, he just had to make it a few more feet. Oliver climbed over the arm of the chair and onto a cushion. He jumped onto the next cushion, and was able to easily climb onto another couch. This one was so close to the back.

Oliver perched on the arm of the chair and leaned out. He stretched his arm out as far as it could go, until the very tips of his fingers grazed against the back wall. Yes! That totally counted as making it to the back. Now he just had to make his way back to the front.

Angel looked at the Professor as she said something about Hot Lava, now what was this all about she was confused and hang on a minute did the professor say.

HOT LAVA!!

Now where was the Volcano because isn't that where Lava was found. She looked around but was glad when she didn't see anything. Angel looked around for the first move and she smiled when she found a cushion that she could leap onto and she smiled when it worked, how awesome was this. She was totally enjoying this though she was hoping that no volcano would be involved in this.

One would think a child of her energy level would have played this game in her youth, but as an only child... unfortunately she'd not really done anything like this. She'd stuck to running around outside and taking up loads of crafts like art and music and read a whole lot, and ran off to explore the neighborhood and got lost way too often in the surrounding towns-- but this was new to her, and she regretted having never done this before because it seemed AWESOME and creative and SUPER fun and a great way to burn off energy.

Luckily, she did have well-honed balance, so she wasn't at ALL fearful of getting this thing going when Moxley counted them down and let them go. But Soph hung back at first, electing to let the others go first and watched the routes they took and what kind of moves ended in them touching the floor instead of a cushion or furniture. Those who were too careless but also too CAREFUL ended up failing, it seemed, so Soph decided then and there that it was best to just confidently move along, not letting anything distract or deter her from the path that felt best to take. Instinct was key, and not overthinking and hesitating with each step, but also not just bounding through the course and hoping to not make a mistake. No, steady and confident was the way to go.

She so had this.

Confident and cool as ever, Soph started with a leap to one cushion, then to another, smooth and deliberate in her movements, bouncing from one to the next until she bounded onto a sofa and took a moment to breathe and steady herself as she planned out her next path to take to the next large piece of furniture.

EASY PEASY SO FAR.

So many things were going around him. People jumping on furniture, people doing their punishments. It was chaos. But a good kind of chaos Yoongi thought. Because it sounded like the others had as much fun as he had. Though he knew that after this had to get a quick shower before the next lesson because he was not going around all sweaty..ew…

Target locked, Yoongi bended his knees and waved his arms as he jumped to the arm chair. This toes touched the chair and then he yelped as he slipped off the chair and fell on his behind in the “lava” Aw man. He had wanted to get across without doing any of the slightly weird punishments.

There was no escaping it though, and cheating was not something he liked so he grabbed a card and laughed when he read it. Okaay….how did one even dance though? He’d go with spinning around, that counted as dancing right? As he spun around , he counted to ten out loud and when he was done he had to sit down on a cushion for a moment cause dizzy.

With him being done with another cushion, it was time for Benny to make his next move an dhe was heading up this time. Up onto top of a couch that was nearby. Close enough he could step and climb up onto it with only a little bit of stretching and all-around hoping that he wasn't going to slip. He had no intention of stepping into the 'lava' and having to do any number of things that his classmates were doing around him. Though complimenting, like he heard Adi do, wasn't all that bad.

"Umph"....he was up and standing.

Well staggering a little with the give of the cushions but he regained a relatively even balance once he stopped moving for a few moments. And then he chanced actually trying for his full height upon the piece of furniture. Almost....almost...there. One or two more tentative steps with his arms slightly raised to both try and steady himself and in case he needed to catch himself if he felt like he was completely falling.

So what if it took him towards the back of the classroom but a little out of his way to the side. Climbing over the back seemed a bit...precarious.

Ha. See? Nobody had noticed her tumble onto the chair, and Brooklyn had spent maybe a moment or two longer than she had to when people had started singing loudly. Okay, that just gave her one more reason why she wanted to avoid touching the floor. Her initial leap hadn’t really gotten her too close to the back, though, so she had to start moving again. First, though, she managed to wiggle around on the chair seat so she was at least right side up, and she had her feet under her. That meant it was simple to get back to a standing position and hopefully back to a good vantage point as to her next goal.

Part of her wanted to avoid the cushions on the floor altogether, but unfortunately the closest piece of furniture was several feet further away from her position than she knew she could jump. It was ridiculous. She’d managed to successfully land on her feet after Frankie had tried throwing her off his shoulders, but she couldn’t make a four foot jump. Or maybe it was five. Either way, there was a small pile of cushions between her chair and the other. At least two cushions made it slightly safer than trying to jump off the chair onto one, so after a moment she made the leap. At least she managed to stay on her feet, and she kept her eyes on the other chair the entire time. That was where she was going next.

Angel now had to try and move from one spot to another without hitting the floor otherwise she would have to do something really embarrassing, judging by what the list was, she might be a good singer, well she thought she was bit it didn't mean that others would agree with her.

Angel looked for the next place to go and when she found it she jumped onto it, so far so good, she wobbled a bit but she managed to keep her balance something she was happy about and if it wasn't for the fact she was afraid she might have fallen off she would have done a little jig, now where was she heading too next.
