Muggle Studies Lesson 2: Go with the flow As you enter the Muggle Studies classroom, you'll note that the only desk in the room is Moxley's. Yes, the muggle studies maven seems to have done a little redecorating. Many antique looking sofas, recliners, and cozy arm chairs have been scattered haphazardly around the room, all with a good view of the brunette who is perched atop her desk, legs swinging happily as she awaits her students arrivals. She's wearing a cheerful blue smiley face sticker on her shirt, a reminder that the new rules still stand. Hopefully everyone has familiarized themselves with the routine by now. So come on in and find a place to sit! Class will be starting shortly! Lesson Progression: Question 1 Question 2 Pre-Activity Directions ACTIVITY End of class! Thanks for coming! Please be sure you're familiar with classroom rules before posting! |
Another day. Another lesson. Hady was ready as she entered the Muggle Studies room for the days lesson in a comfy pair of black jeans, a purple shirt and sneakers. What she wasn't ready for was the room to be redecorated the way it had been. Nice! She had to say she liked the idea of sofas and recliners in the room. "Hello Professor, love the set up in here today!," she greeted giving Professor Moxley the usual high five before selecting a random recliner and settling down into it. Once sat she pulled out the stickers and went with an orange semi smiling happy face and stuck it to her shirt. She wasn't overly happy nor was she not happy so this would do. Dropping her bag at her feet she sat back and got comfortable waiting on everyone else. |
Wheeeee! Another fun Muggle Studies lesson again? Yes, please! This seventh year was here! He strolled cheerily into the classroom and went right over to Moxley. "Professor! Hello to you!'' Cue his high five to the woman! He was careful again this time to not high five the woman tooooo enthusiastically. That out of the way, he turned to survey the room. Hmmmm. How curious. No desks except Moxley's. But he did approve of the seating arrangements. "Hey, Hades!'' A grin for the Snakette as he opted for a sofa. Maybe he could have a nap before class if he laid down on it? Hehe. Kidding! And yeah, he did have a bright red sticker stuck on his clothing. It showed a face of a cheerful grin. |
Dressed in his muggle clothing which was a blue jeans with a white sweater and red converse shoes, Yoongi entered the muggle studies classroom for another lesson. But before he entered he stuck a laughing purple smiley sticker on his sweater to describe his mood. He felt good. He was up to date with all of his homework, he was getting healthier by the day and he didn't have any stress. So yes, a laughing smiley for him~ "Helloooo Professor Moxley" he greeted as he gave her a high five as he past by her desk and continued to walk through the room to one of the recliners like Hady had done. He winked and smiled at her as a form of greeting and sat down. Ooooh and Adi wanted a wink as well right?! He gave a dramatic, open mouthed wink at the Prefect as well hehe. |
Well, that was different. Paulina looked around the classroom curiously before remembering that she was standing in the middle off the doorway. "Hello, Professor," she said as she approached her Head of House and gave her a high five. "Interesting set up." Choosing a smiley face sticker because she was happy today, Paulina chose a seat. "Hey!" she said to Adi and Hady |
Alright, this was a new direction for the classroom. Benny walked into the latest Muggle Studies lesson only to find all...well most of the desks gone, and replaced by couches and arm chairs and other seating arrangements. He could go for the comfier furniture. "Hello Professor," he greeted Moxley, giving her a ptoper high five as usual this term. He then retrieved a happy sticker to place on his robes before moving to claim a seat. "Hey," he said, sending a polite hello to Hady. Then he was at the couch Adi was situated in. "Are either of these seats taken?" Benny mused questioning his best friend rhetorically as he took a seat on one of the other cushions. |
Oliver stopped short as soon as he entered the Muggle Studies classroom. It was mostly normal. Professor Moxley was at the front of the room with her stickers. But there was one significant change. His high five was slower than usual, as he was still trying to process the change. "Hello Professor. Um, did somebody steal all the desks? Good thing you had these chairs and stuff." But why would somebody have stolen all the desks from the Muggle Studies classroom? Probably to be funny. He wished he'd thought of that. If professor Moxley didn't seem bothered by it, then Oliver wouldn't worry either. He selected his sticker by choosing the one making the funniest face and stuck it right on his forehead. Then he plopped himself down into one of the couches. At least it was comfier than a regular desk. |
No desks. Alright. Hugo didn't mind the new decoration of the classroom 'cause couches were more comfy and that was all that mattered. Though he was not a big fan of the new rule but you know he had to do it so, he approached Moxley "What's up professor?" gave her the usual high five and then chose a happy, relaxing smiley face sticker. Nicely placed on his robes. Good Then he took a seat on one of the armchairs and waited for the class to begin. |
Before he approached the Professor, Rooney chose TWO big smiley face stickers and stuck them to his head. "Hey, Professor! I like what you've done with the room." He liked it a lot. He wasn't sure how much learning he would do whilst being as comfortable as these chairs would make him, but he would try his hardest for Professor Moxley. He offered her his hand for a high-five only to take it away and GRIN at her like he did every class. However, he'd been a bit quicker to take it away this time, just in case she tried to catch him early with it. OMG WHERE WAS HE GOING TO SIT?! Was Miss Charlotte Hannah Kettleburn here yet? Miss Sophie Brown? HM? HM? HM? Nah, he'd just take a recliner chair for himself. Wheeeeeee. |
Norah beamed at Professor Moxley as she entered the classroom, before picking out a smiley green sticker and pressing it to the front of her shirt. "Hi Professor! Are we taking naps today?" She hadn't wanted to walk in with a mopey face on, but the exhaustion was starting to hit awfully hard. Naps were surely appreciated. Nevertheless, Professor Moxley got a big high five as she passed on her way to a comfy looking armchair near the front of the classroom. She rubbed her eyes. Man. Why'd she have to be sleepy for THIS class? It was probably going to be loads of fun. Leaning back in her chair, she intertwined her fingers and laid them on her lap. See that? That was a listening stance. The note stuff could...be dealt with later. |
High Five to you Professor Moxley...literally and figuratively because Dante had too and because he was liking this new seating whatever that was going on today. "Hey Professor Moxley" Now to go sit in one of those sofas because Dante did love relaxing on a sofa. Though he was still not liking these mood stickers because his mood that he wanted to people to see never really changed. So indifferent sticker it was Perfect. |
Looking much happier than she felt, Soph entered the Muggle Studies classroom with a fake smile set upon her lips, but the moment she saw how positively brimming with elation Moxley was at the front of the room, her grinned turned significantly more genuine. "Y'know what I like best about you, professor?" Soph started on her journey over to give the woman a high-five. "Y'always look like you're super happy to be here. Like, there's nowhere you'd rather be, even when m'sure that's not true. I can tell y'really love what you do." HIGH-FIVE. "And m'glad for that, 'cause we really love having you, too. You're like sunshine, personified." She wasn't even brown-nosing for once - she really, truly meant it. So full of life, Moxley was. It was almost enough to be contagious, and it was enough to keep that somewhat genuine smile on Sophie Brown's face as she went along to select her sticker for the day. She... wasn't feeling the best inside, but there was that little bit of joy from being in Moxley's class, so... Soph picked an apprehensive-looking green sticker and placed it right near her Head Girl badge. There was still a smile, but it was... a little uncertain, a little pained, which was just about perfect for her today. Where to sit, though? Couldn't take her usual desk by the window, so instead she choose a sofa by the window and plopped herself down right in the center of it, intending to attract two of her friends, one for each side of her. Hopefully Zander on one side so they could cuddle up to each other a little bit, hm? That's what couches were good for, weren't they? |
Phillip had a feeling that this was going to be a GOOD lesson. After all, last time they got to play BOWLING. HUMAN BOWLING or, uh, something like that. Whatever it was called, it was FUN and so, the boy had high expectations for this lesson as well. Don't let him down, okay, Moxley? Okay. So, dressed in his muggle clothes -- which included jeans, a t-shirt with a wolf on it and a hoodie -- the first year headed into the classroom. Did he notice the setup? Yes, yes he did. In fact, it only made the boy even MORE excited for this lesson. No desks was a good sign, you know. It probably meant less writing and more practical work and he only HOPED that it meant something fun like last time. Maybe they could do paintballing this time? Or have water fights? THAT would be cool. Phillip shrugged and took a sticker -- a blue one that had a smiley face on it -- and stuck it onto his t-shirt. He then headed straight up to Moxley -- okay, it was more of a good jog -- and gave her the biggest of fives! Which, like last time, included a small jump up. "Hellooooo, Professor." Seat? That sofa over THERE. The first year went and flopped down onto it, spreading out as muuuuuuuuuuch as he could in the process. FLOP. |
Ahhhh, Muggle Studies. Janelle was ready for class.....as long as human bowling wasn't involved that is. She entered the classroom and immediately noticed the changes. Walking up to the professor, Janelle gave her an enthusiastic high five. "Hello Professor Moxley. I really like the set up today." The room looked.......comfortable. Janelle had her eye on an empty chair that looked like it was waiting for her. She stopped for her mood sticker and picked out a blue one with a happy face. Yep, she was feeling happy today and hoped that she could keep the good mood going for the rest of the day. Once Janelle had placed the sticker on her clothes, she headed for her special chair. Flopping down in it, she made herself comfortable and got her things ready for class. |
Ellery was pretty tired because she had been up late reading Sylvia Plath, so she had deep dark circles clearly defined under her eyes. She smiled warmly at the professor, though, and inclined her head. "Hi, professor." WERE THEY NAPPING. Please let that be true. She smiled at her brother, sticking a red happy face sticker to her shirt. She was pretty happy at the moment. |
Angel walked into the classroom and she gave the Professor the biggest high five she could, she was totally in an excited and bubbly mood today. "How are you Professor?" Angel smiled after she had finished the high five. Angel went and sat down, and quickly put on a mood sticker that had a nice big smiley face on because well today was just a glorious day wasn't it and she was totally looking forwards to this lesson and couldn't wait to see what they were doing. |
Brooklyn still didn’t like high fives. They were way too boring for her, way too mundane. There were so many better methods of greeting, to the point she’d decided that something was wrong with the professors that they didn’t understand that. She wasn’t planning on explaining that, however, and she certainly wasn’t planning on being forced to share a seat as she’d entered the Muggle Studies classroom to see the desks had been replaced with all manner of comfortable seating. Namely, recliners and couches mostly, and she trained her gaze on an open recliner as she approached the professor. “Good day Professor Moxley,” she said, raising her hand just as she had the first lessons. Whether the professor chose to return he gesture was her choice, but nobody could say she hadn’t tried. Even if it wasn’t as enthusiastic as some of the others. After a moment or two, she retreated to her recliner, sending a smile to Hady and a few others, and stuck a green sticker that was somewhat indifferent onto her collar again. It wasn’t her fault her mood didn’t change. At least she had a comfy chair to curl up in. By herself. |
IT WAS TIME FOR HIS FAVOURITE CLASS EVER IN THE ENTIRE HOGWARTS SCHOOL. Blaise bounded happily into the room, completely and totally ready for the only class he wasn't failing. It felt good walking into the room without that air of...not doing well looming over him and it was the one class he wouldn't be judged for leaving his wand up in his trunk as he'd taken to doing. Happy Blaise was happy. "Hey Professor!" Of course, like the rules said, he gave her a high five--actually walked up to her desk because REAL high fives were better than dumb air ones. "I look forward to any and everything you have to teach us." Now if only someone could tell the quill that was currently scribbling away madly that he wasn't gawking up at her, stricken by his own immense admiration.... Like....what did that even MEAN and where was he going to sit? Comfy couches were promising stuff. Ah here we go. The boy flopped down by Phillip--HAI BUD--then plopped a mood sticker on himself. Ready. |
Being an avid collector of things-all the things-meant that Moxley had her fair share of furniture in storage, as her husband wouldn't allow her to keep any more of it in their home. Like it was the furnitures fault that he'd walked into a chair leg or seven and bruised his toes. PSH. Anywhoo, it meant that Moxley had just the right items for her lesson. Now to see how the students felt about the new setup, and if any of them could guess why she might've set up the room like this. SPOILER!!: Greetings Glancing down at her watch again, Moxley hopped up from her seat and headed to stand by the door. "Alright, we've got just a few more minutes before class starts. If you haven't already, please take out some paper and something to write with!" OOC: Class will officially start tomorrow around 3pm EDT |
Muggle studies. It was a favorite of Noelles classes because she always seemed to have such fun and the professor was just a dolllll! She loved her. Today was no different, Noelle entered the classroom and was delighted to see a bunch of old fashioned chairs out and about. She looked around to see which chair she wanted. Spying the a professor, she gave a hearty wave with a big grin. "Hey professor!" She called out but not too loud. She'd been called loud one too many times. Spotting a chair she liked, Noelle went and sat in it. She pulled on the lever on the side and out popped her feet. Oh this was nice. grabbing her bag, she put her parchment book and self inking quill on her lap. She was ready! Oh wait! A compliment. "I just love how fun you make these classes." Not brown-nosing. Just truthful. |
Henric walked into the classroom, a little half-daze. He stopped directly in front of Professor Moxley before raising up his right-hand for a high five,."Hi, professor...morning to you,"he greeted politely. To be honest,Henric wasn't feeling all cheery today. So he found an armchair nearby and sat quietly by himself. He didn't forget to put the sticker on him, of course. He chose an orange one and stick it above his Manchester United badge. He cast a small smile to a group of students he knew and waited patiently for the class to start. |
Sophie walked into the Muggle Studies classroom wearing her muggle clothing. Today she had on a pair of dark jeans and a gray sweater. She walked over to Professor Moxley and gave her a great high five. "I am really loving the comfortable seating, you rock Professor!" Sophie considered the stickers carefully before selecting an indifferent purple smiley. Looking around the classroom she noticed many students whom she knew of, but wasn't super close to. Actually, she wasn't much close to anyone. Why wasn't she good at making friends? There was that Benny boy whom gave her a compliment in Herbology, but he was sitting with his friends. With a smile towards him, Sophie chose an empty seat at a squashy couch and sat down. Class would be getting started soon, so she took out her notebook and a ink PEN. Because it was MUGGLE studies, and muggles used pens. |
Muggle studies. He dug this subject. Yeah the teacher was pretty cool and stuff. He did pretty well in the first lesson and thought why not come back for more. As he walked to the classroom, he noticed there were big armchairs and sofas. Ah man this was heaven! Were they gonna lounge around the whole lesson. This slytherin was in for that! As he made his way to the recliners, he saw the professor and he smiled brightly and said, "Hello Professor!" and then plopped down on his recliner and wasn't gonna move for quite some time now. Yup he was comfy. He made it on time thought that was a good thing. |
"Ooooh, Professor," Dot stopped a few feet into the room and drank in all the dramatic old furniture. Amazing! Where did it all come from and where did she store it and was it dusty, because that would make Dot sneeze? So many questions! She danced up to the professor and offered her a high five before taking a big old smiley sticker and looking for a seat. One of the prim stiff couches would keep her awake all class (not that she needed help), so Dot perched her bum on one of those cushions. Hadn't she been saying something? Oh! "Professor, it's just so lovely in here. Definitely sets a very specific tone." |
Evie just made it inside the door when she heard Moxley say they would be beginning class soon and that she needed something to write with and on. She rather liked the new set up of the class, too. Couches were MUCH more comfortable than hard chairs and desks. Evie slung her bag off of her shoulder and parked her bum in a squishy little chair near the front of her class. First matter of business: mood sticker. Evie looked through the sheet, having a hard time picking one. Eventually she settled for a straight face sticker. She was just... content. Fine. Alright. Chill. Second matter of business: notes. Rifling through her bag, Evie pulled out her notebook and her quill, marked the top of a fresh sheet with that day's date and patiently waited for class to begin. |
