The Muggle Studies classroom is clean and inviting, sunlight streaming through the windows and casting a warm glow over the entire space. Perhaps this is why Professor Moxley seems to be in such a great mood. The brunette is perched on the corner of her desk at the front of the room, her outfit indicative of today's topic for discussion and her happy face sticker placed on her shirt, showcasing her current mood. Hopefully you're familiar with the new classroom rules because the Moxinator fully expects you to rock a mood sticker soon, as well.
The room is organized a bit differently this time around, the tables creating a big U shape, with Moxley's desk acting like a crown at the top. Once you've greeted the professor, why not sit down and relax a bit? You'll need your energy for today's lesson! That's a promise.
Dante did not want to be wearing one of those horrible shirts. He would never want to be seen in public wearing one. Maybe it was a good thing he never bowled before even in the Diagon Alley. But since Moxley wanted them too. He guessed he would have to reluctantly. He would silently complain.Though that leaves the whole problem of partners and Dante not wanting to do that either.
Shrug.
He just didn't.
This was a problem
Not a serious problem but a still a problem.

SPOILER!!: Angel
Angel smiled when she realised that Hady wanted to be her partner this was so cool, she couldn't wait and it seemed that Hady had played the game before. Angel thought about seeing if Hady wanted to play for a chocolate frog but she had a feeling the Professor might not like her asking something like that and she still wasn't happy about the non existent hi-five though Angel still thought it was hard when her heart was broken in a million pieces. It was going to take her years to glue it back together one piece at a time.
Angel looked at the Hady as she asked about the colour. "How about a dark blue" Angel was trying to figure out how to do this, she wanted them to look professional but how did a bowler look she hadn't really seen a professional match though she knew they took place.
Spotting the smile on her older friends face Hady grinned at her. It was nice working with someone she knew cause she was sure that whatever task they had to complete was work out well enough for them both. She was also tempted to ask her friend how she was handling things but now wasn't the time for that.
Turning her attention to Angel when she suggested dark blue for their shirts she nodded her head. "Yeah, okay." Blue was a good color. Not as good as green was but it'd do just fine for today.
Making her way to the box with all the bowling shirts the brunette rummaged around through all the colors for the right ones. Finally finding two that matched she pulled them out and handed one to Angel. "Here you go." Now they both had a Dark Blue shirt. Did they put them on now or wait?

Ellery was a HUGE fan of the shirts. She liked when there was a uniform because people tended to not look good in uniforms, but Ellery looked good in everything, and she LOVED looking better than people. She even pretended to forget about the squashing of creativity with uniforms.
She scanned the room and saw a familiar squishable man person. She tapped his shoulder with her foot (yes, she was tall and flexible).
"DANTE. We should be partners." She made large, pleading, puppy dog eyes.

You know even if he had picked a partner he would never have imagined it would be him and Ellery. But sigh. He was not in the busniess of being mean to first years. And it is not like he would say no.....So now he had a partner apparently.
Sigh.
Also puppy eyes seriously worked. It was no joke. Though just ask him to do something and he would probably shrug and agree. His will was not strong.
"Alright let's be partners and you can pick the color of the shirts also"
Those horrible horrible shirts.

Puppy dog eyes were a SUCCESS. Ellery got dibs on color, too! "I think we should go green, because celery is green AND you're a Slytherin. Plus I look really good in green."
She hopped/skipped over to the shirts and grabbed two green ones. She hopped/skipped back and handed him one, then pulled hers over her head. It fit pretty snugly, which was nice and comfy.
She mimed bowling and accidentally whacked herself in the nose. "Go team go."

As Professor Moxley wrote things down on the board, Paulina quickly copied them down in her notes. She hadn't known that bowling dated back to ancient Egypt. Rather interesting in her opinion. And she did have to agree about the heads being unsettling to muggles.
Time came for them to select partners, and she honestly didn't know who to work with. "Anyone want to be my partner?" she asked while looking around. Hopefully she would be able to find someone, because it would be silly if she ended up being the only person who didn't have someone to bowl with. Or at least she assumed that would be what was happening because why else would they be studying bowling and putting on shirts?

"Uh, want..." he grabbed the first one he touched, not even paying attention to the color until he'd pulled it out. "Purple?" Why not?
"Oliver, right." Davie realized where he'd seen this kid most recently; it had been in potions, where he and the girl with the really long name had both claimed to write on the board. He almost brought that up, but didn't really want to make the kid mad in class right now. He'd save that question for after.
So. Purple. "Uhhh, okay." Since he'd already pulled it out, Davie grabbed a matching one. "Have you ever played bowling before?" Maybe he'd lucked out and gotten a Muggleborn.

SEE? He KNEW they spooked easily. It was a real shame they were, they missed out on so much because of it. Like the comic relief that happened to be shrunken heads...so long as they weren't picking on YOU. Mhm.
BUT ANYWAY it sounded like they'd get to do SOMETHING like bowling today. He didn't care that they weren't gonna get to have nachos, he could find an Elf to get him some later...if he ever found the kitchen. Plenty of time for that, he had his whole school life ahead of him and there were only so many places you could hide a kitchen before he ran into it.
Hearing the sudden call for a partner snapped his mind back from the kitchen thoughts. Right. Class. Partners. "Me! Meee!" Blaise shot out of his seat and hurried to grab two shirts that matched.
"Hope you don't mind. I like green." Girls liked picking colours and clothes and stuff--he knew that--but what if she wanted them wearing a GIRL colour? His little shot of manliness couldn't take that chance.

He knew they were gonna be bowling today because of her outfit. He was excited to know they were gonna do an activity. He first needed a partner though? He got up from his seat and walked around wondering if anyone needed a partner. He hoped he wouldn't have to ask because he didn't wanna sound desperate.
As he made his way around, he saw a ravenclaw in need of a partner. He made his way over to her (Janelle) and said, "Hey I need a partner."

No, Brooklyn didn’t particularly care that bowling dated back all the way to ancient Egypt. She’d never particularly cared to go bowling, whether the Muggle kind or the shrunken head kind that happened in Diagon Alley, and the lesson wasn’t making her any more interested in the subject. Especially as it came out that not only were they expected to partner up, but they were supposed to wear bowling shirts like the one the professor had on. She just hoped there weren’t shoes in that box too. At least there was the slightest chance she could be lucky with the shirt color. There were a few colors she generally tried to avoid, after all, but she wasn’t holding out hope that the shoes would be cute in any way. No, she’d keep her own shoes on.
After a moment, though, she did stand up and go over to the box. Figuring a partner would come to her. She refused to call out that she didn’t have one, especially since Hady had gotten a partner seconds before she’d gotten up. That eliminated one good option, but then she was thankful that another not-so-good option was eliminated too. She wouldn’t be forced to work with Adi anyway, thanks to Benny. It just left everyone else, and she’d peeked into the box for a moment to check what colors were left. So far there looked to be a few that she could tolerate left, so she just needed a partner.
It took ANOTHER five hundred million years to copy down all the new notes. Apparently bowling had a whole lot more to it than she remembered, which wasn't too surprising considering how un-exciting some of the facts were. The activity was going to be exciting though, mmhmm. Professor Moxley's activities were always exciting, it was a rule. Norah set her quill down on top of her page of notes. Alrighty. PARTNER TIME.
She'd taken so long trying to write all the details down that it seemed as if the whole entire class was already crowded around the front of the room. Speed walking forwards just to make sure there was a purple shirt left for her, she scanned the clusters of students in search of a partner. She saw Brooklyn standing out of the corner of her eye and changed direction to walk at her instead. She wasn't talking to anybody so she could probably be Norah's partner, right? Riiiiiight? With a big smile, she came to halt in front of the Slytherin. "I can be your partner, if you want." Please say yes please please please please, the purple shirts would be gone before they knew it.

They were gonna bowl! Timmy just needed a partner, but whoever she got would toss her away. She wasn't the greatest person to bowl with. Most of the bowling balls ended up to the side when her aunt took her each time. But maybe the person who teamed up with cane help her out on that. Her Hufflepuff nerd was maybe not a good choice but she'd still bowl with him anyway.
But what if someone got to her first?

Okay, this was going to be AWESOME!
Kate really wanted to get up to the box full of shirts and pick out a pretty-colored one before they were all gone. First, though, she needed a partner. Looking around, she saw where some of her friends already had people to work with. BOO. She was even too late to snag Colt, who was working with Kate's dormmate, Janelle.
Now...who else?!
"Is anybody else still looking for a partner?" she asked, loud enough to where hopefully somebody wandering around nearby could hear her and accept her offer. Somebody? Anybody?

Noelle LOVED bowling. OF course, she was no good... but no one had to know that. Heh.
And now they had to find a partner. Noelle was easy at this.... although it was harder to make friends with older years. Sighing, she looked around. Blaise was already taken. He would have been her first choice since he was right beside her.
Oh well.
Looking around, Noelle saw a girl that was looking around. Grinning big, she bounded up to her. Her homesickness completely gone. "Hi! Remember me??' She asked and made a little crown with her fingers.

Cal was doing that squinty thing again. What was the point of this again? How was this any different from the bowling alley at Diagon Alley??? Neither did he want to wear some stupid looking shirt. The sticker on his chest was matching his current face. Annoyed.
Sighing, he pushed himself up and walked over to the first lonely person he saw. "You." Point. "Be my partner?" Except it was more like a concentrated statement than a question, really.
If only he could have his muggle phone out right now and snap a picture of the board. He didn't feel like writing all that in his notes. What for when he knew practically everything he needed to know about bowling.
They had to choose partners now? Brilliant! Henric reached out and put an arm around his bestfriend's shoulders,"Got one right here!" No doubt about it since they were seated practically right next to each other.
"llia, if you'll be my bowling partner...you can choose whatever colour shirt you like from the box."Henric offered, smiling broadly at her. Come on...you know you want to...meheheh.

Fortunately, Janelle did not have to wait long. Hearing someone say they needed a partner, she focused her attention in that direction. Janelle saw that the voice belonged to a Slytherin boy that she thought was in her year. She knew that he was friends with her roomate Kate. Relieved to have someone to work with, Janelle shot him a grateful smile.
"No you don't", she replied. "Because I'll be your partner. I'm Janelle." Looking at her new partner, Janelle had a feeling that he might know a thing or two about bowling.....which was good. "Have you bowled before? I think this activity is going to be a lot of fun." Janelle was so glad to have someone to work with, that she momentarily forgot what they were supposed to be doing. "I almost forgot. We need to pick out bowling shirts." She began to walk toward Professor Moxley's desk where the box of shirts was located. "Why don't you pick a color. It doesn't really matter to me." As long as it wasn't a pink shirt, Janelle was good and the Slytherin didn't exactly look like a pink type of guy.

Awww.
A little First Year wanted to partner with her and Paulina was totally fine with that. His excitement was adorable. AND he had even picked out shirts for the both of them so she wouldn't have to. Looked like hers was a medium, which was perfect since that was her size. "Thanks! I like green too, so it's perfect." Orange was her favourite, but she liked most colours - besides pink. For some reason she never cared for the colour, though she thought purple was nice. Honestly, she would have worn any shirt the boy picked out for her.
Taking the shirt from him, she smiled. "I'm Paulina." Even though she wasn't huge on sports, she was rather looking forward to bowling because it wasn't highly competitive and it was rather laid back.

The fact that adults and children can take part is another reason why it’s widely popular among muggles.”
”Now before we get to our activity-yes, we will be doing a slightly more interesting version of bowling today but sadly, no nachos for us-I’d like you all to come up to the front of the room and find a partner, then select matching colored bowling shirts from this box.” Moxley produced a box from behind her desk and set it on top. Inside, a rainbow selection of bowling shirts waited for the students. ”Once you’ve finished, we’ll get going on our activity!”
She didn't mind?! That was awesome! Professor Moxley seemed like such a lovely, pleasantly zealous woman; someone people naturally gravitated towards. Just attending this lesson, Reagan wanted to be friends with her. PROJECT OF THE TERM: befriend everyone that would have her. "As soon as I can!"
Also, she hadn't jumped up to claim a partner or anything yet...because she was still transferring everything written on the board over to her notes. No, Muggle Studies wasn't a subject she'd planned to sit for NEWTs...but maybe if she could get a firm grasp on it, she could reconsider.
It couldn't hurt to know more about muggles. It certainly couldn't hurt her personal interests, as there were just as many endangered non-magic creatures as there were magical ones.

As Kate wandered around the room in search of a partner, she thought about the fact that there would be no nachos during today's bowl. Extra BOO. She had actually gotten herself excited about the fact that she may be able to feast on cheesy tortillas in mere minutes. Instead, they were going to be bowling without a single nacho in sight. Meh.
Then there was a finger pointing directly at her, causing Kate to blink and try to focus on where that finger was coming from. Oh. It was a partner! Someone Kate didn't know, but that was cool. "Yeah, sure," she said. "I'm Kate." It would be nice to at least no each other's names. She gestured toward the box of rainbow-colored bowling shirts. "I'm guessing you don't want a pink or purple shirt?" she asked with a laugh. She looked in the box again. "Cyan?"

That... was not what Dot had expected. To be claimed by someone totally new was, well, new, and she made a dumbfounded face for a long moment before lighting up in a bright smile of her own. It was nice to be claimed, actually, even by a stranger. And a sincere seeming stranger who said she'd love to work with her.

His finger was getting tired. You know, hovering there, but the girl was taking quite sometime to acknowledge him. At last, she spoke, saying her name was Kate. Kay-teh-ah. Kaaaaaatttteee. Got it. It's in his memory bank forever now. He bowed slightly. More like it was just a deep bow of the head. Hortencia would've had a fit about his lack of etiquette. "I'm C-Cal."
The second year's head turned to the box of shirts. He had no problem the colours of pink or purple. Nothing against them was taught by his parents. Just if muggles were wearing the color, it was a ghastly thing. Cal held up the shirt against him to see how it looked. He nodded, "Sssss-Cyan is good."
They were going to get to bowl like real Muggles today?! That sounded like so much fun. He'd never even gotten to do the Shrunken Head Bowling in The Alley and he was getting to do this version. Standing up from his desk when instructed to find a partner, Milo groaned a bit. David and some of the other Ravenclaw first years were already partnering up. He might get have to work with someone he didn't know. He didn't usually do well with people he didn't know. His mom had told him he needed to try more when he was at school though.
"Does anyone need a partner still?" Milo asked no one in particular, a hand raised awkwardly.
Ohhhh sweet Merlin. That was a LOT of facts, but Sophie made quick work of scribbling down ALL of them as they appeared on the board, hardly processing any of them as she just tried to get the words on her paper so she could just digest it later. The words "alley" and "pin" and "gutter" were familiar, but there was a lot of other stuff happening that was just wacky. Like, lawn bowling? How lame was that?
Eventually, though, she was caught up, and... PARTNER. BOWLING SHIRTS. Sophie grinned, wiggling her eyebrows at Zander beside her, and gave him a happy nudge. "Partner?" PARTNER. And they NEEDED TO GET MATCHING SHIRTS. SHE thought they should be PURPLE because the BLUE OF RAVENCLAW and RED OF GRYFFINDOR COMBINED made purple... but other people were already picking purple, so that was... y'know. Not that cool. Or maybe they'd just be RED for GRYFFINDOR. Like... a girlfriend wearing her boyfriend's jersey to support him and his team, so she'd be SUPPORTING HIM AND HIS HOUSE. Not actively and betraying Ravenclaw or anything, just being his SUPPORTER.
Totally a solid idea. But she'd wait to see what HE said first.

Y'know, Zander wasn't even taking notes anymore. He was just actively listening as Moxley described the sport, making sure to nod at appropriate times when she made eye contact, for encouragement and stuff... Y'know? If Zander was a Professor, he'd totally appreciate that. But anyways, once Moxley finished up, the Gryffindor looked straight over to Head Girl Sophie Brown, who he just so happened to be sitting by. Hi Sophie. Hi.
She was taking notes. And lots of them. Wow. Wasn't she great? She was really great. And he was just sat there smiling all goofy at her while she hurriedly jotted everything down. Hopefully she knew that Zander had been bowling before, 'cause he'd definitely be willing to help her get all that stuff down later if she wanted. But he liked watching her take notes. She did it with such enthusiasm and concentration, things he had trouble doing properly. "That even a question?" he nudged her back before getting out of his chair.
"Maybe if you want we can actually go bowling one day?" He knew a place. Not too far from where he lived, actually. But anyways, they had some instructions to follow. Ahem. Uh. Shirts. They were kind of horrid looking to be honest, but Zander was never all that fashion savy to begin with so... Yeaaaaaaaah. They looked fine. But what color? "You wanna do blue for Ravenclaw?" He sort of owed her one after the whole Astronomy thing. Or maybe owed her five million. Ahem.
