The Muggle Studies classroom is clean and inviting, sunlight streaming through the windows and casting a warm glow over the entire space. Perhaps this is why Professor Moxley seems to be in such a great mood. The brunette is perched on the corner of her desk at the front of the room, her outfit indicative of today's topic for discussion and her happy face sticker placed on her shirt, showcasing her current mood. Hopefully you're familiar with the new classroom rules because the Moxinator fully expects you to rock a mood sticker soon, as well.
The room is organized a bit differently this time around, the tables creating a big U shape, with Moxley's desk acting like a crown at the top. Once you've greeted the professor, why not sit down and relax a bit? You'll need your energy for today's lesson! That's a promise.
curly haired prefect - "sometimes I get angry!" - 30/90 - *chicken emoji* - probably @ Disney - I speak dog
Caleb wrinkled his eyebrows as he had entered the classroom and grudgingly did the whole high five, sticker thing, putting a happy sticker on because really, he WAS happy, but also annoyed because it seemed the professors had all suffered some sort of brain trauma this summer and thought they were all children. First the nonsense in charms class with changing ties, then Flamsteed being...well, no, scratch that, he was always like that...and now this high five sticker junk. What were they, five?! This was preschool stuff! The only reason Caleb was going along with it was because duh, he was a prefect, but that didn't mean he couldn't judge all this silliness in silence. As he usually did.
Thankfully, class was officially underway and he could finally participate and do some LEARNING. For those important EXAMS he had coming up! He raised his hand. "There's this game called baseball. It's really popular in America - it's sort of like being a beater all the time, as the object of the game is to hit a ball with a bat and then run around on some bases and try to score runs. It can be either really exciting or really boring, depending on the pace of the game. You never know what you're going to get," he explained with a smile. He'd seen a baseball game when he'd gone to New York this summer! It had been very exciting, even though the home team had lost, the other team hit a TON of home runs which were exciting and then they had FIREWORKS!
Quidditch needed fireworks. After the game, of course, because that would be totally dangerous with people flying around still...

Gwen rushed in at the last minute, her pink curls bouncing. Muggle studies would be an easy class for her considering her mother was muggle-born and her father was a half-blood. She looked at the professor, Moxley, who was wearing a bowling shirt. Of course Gwen had been bowling, alleys were a dime a dozen in America. "Muggle past times" was written on the board. Gwen decided that she would just high-five the teacher next time, considering she was already in her lessons. She grabbed a mood sticker that said, "alone." She still didn't really know anyone, unfortunately.
She started writing all the Muggle things that she liked to do. She really liked to paint. And she loved her computer. She loved social media and fanfiction and Netflix. And of course, reading and writing for fun.

Davie had read the rules. See the silly sticker he was wearing? See? He wasn't in trouble for that. Regardless, the little boy's lower lip was jutting out unnecessarily in something faintly regarding a pout.
Bloody Muggles.
How was he supposed to know what Muggles did for fun? All he knew was that they used ekeltronics, like fellytones. He had seen one once. Also, Muggles went shopping like wizards, because his mum had told him that one. And they had toys. Some toys that didn't even run on ekeltricity. So Davie raised his hand with that one.
"Using their ekeltronic devices." Like what, besides the fellytone, he did not know. Had someone said tellytubbies? That was a pastime?

...She was wearing the badge well? MOXLEY PLEASE. "Nawwww, shhh," Soph shook her head modestly, unconsciously shooting a quick glance around to make sure people were SCOWLING at her because they disagreed. Still, despite her embarrassment, it DID mean a lot to her for Moxley to say that, and a somewhat uncharacteristically sheepish grin soon graced her features. "Thank you, though, professor." That was awfully nice of her to say.
If Zander Adair HADN'T sat with Sophie, she would've been super sad, so when the Gryffindor did join her, the Ravenclaw responded with a big ol' grin. "Just taken by the Head Boy." Remember, Zander? That was YOU. HEAD BOY ZANDER ADAIR.
Was he used to that yet?
Happier now that he was beside her, Sophie almost considered switching out her neutral smiley-faced sticker for an even happier one, but she thought such a gesture would probably make Zander blush and squirm, and she didn't think Moxley would've appreciated her making Zander so flustered right now. Maybe later, though.
Once class got started, the Moxinator made it VERY clear that she was dissatisfied with a lot of the class, and Sophie felt like she probably looked guilty even though she hadn't even DONE anything wrong. It was secondhand guilt. Guilt because... Moxley NEVER got all disappointed at them like this and it felt weird. She wanted Moxley to feel all better, but soon enough, the woman seemed back to normal, launching into the day's topic. Whew. Crisis averted.
Popular Muggle pastimes, though? She could think of loads, and without even hesitating, Soph raised her hand to respond, "Tobes in all his Muggle-loving ways likes skateboarding, professor." Which, y'know, wasn't entirely helpful, but Moxley had been around Soph and Toby long enough to know who "Tobes" was, undoubtedly, and no doubt knew just how prone Tobes was to take the Muggle way in everything he could.
Still. Weird that she was talking about a graduated student? Perhaps. But. It was MUGGLE STUDIES and MOXLEY. Tobes was forever associated with those in her mind. So. Ahem. Nothing to be concerned about here, guys. Just another day.
She tried to pretend that 'Prefect Kittredge' had a nice ring to it just like it had before term had really started, but it wasn't too easy. The fact that it was the real live head of house speaking made it better though, so there was no shortage of smiles for Professor Moxley as Norah got set up at her desk.
She made a slightly exaggerated point of bending over to take notes on what the other students were giving as responses, before putting her own hand in the air. Muggle pastimes were easy peasy, her gran and gramps had...a couple of them. Plus the french muggle kids who they played hung out with sometimes. They did stuff. "My gran's a muggle and she likes to knit! That's a pastime, and it uses up a whole lot of time, too." Nastily time consuming, uh huh. And Boring with a capital B. "And lots of people like to go to the cinema to see films 'n stuff, too." NAILED IT.
So they were starting off with favorite muggle pastimes. Though the two could be the same when you're a muggle born. The more Dante got to thinking about it. But that was all the thought he gave to that because he was actually going to answer. Though he was not listening to much to see if what he is going to say has already been said.
Oh well and
You should be honored Professor Moxley that im answering....He was kidding obviously. Though a couple years ago. Not at all.
"Going to the Beach"
It was one of his favorite things to do beside riding his bike and what the Head Girl said.Though it could be a pastime to some. No idea. He was only fourteen.

Ellery wrinkled her nose. More talk of rules. Geez, didn't ANYONE at this school realize that the more rules they try to enforce, the more students would rebel? Plus, how was she breaking the rules? With her hair? Since when were artistic license and creativity discouraged?
Within like…a WEEK, Ellery was kinda done with the whole rules thing preventing a) freedom b) fun and c) her seeing Olly a lot. Hmph.
She almost didn't answer the first question, but she knew an answer. "In parties with loooaaads of muggles, the kids will go into another room and play board games or card games or watch a movie, and the parents will stay and talk about politics, which frankly I find fascinating so sometimes I've stayed behind and listened."

She'd help a muggle studies professor out, right?
Yes, Dot was always good for helping which is certainly why she deserved her badge. Moxley was appreciative of her instructions and she gave a reassuring smile when the Slytherin glanced over to see if it was okay she was doing so.
Oh, PERFECT! Dot grinned happily at the professor and nodded like one of those crazy Muggle bobblehead things. She and the professor were going to do glittery crafts together! GLITTER! AND CRAFTS! WITH CLOTHES!
She was the happiest little Slytherin in the world.
And also not very helpful on this topic, since she didn't know many Muggles (none), and she didn't know what they did for fun. How was it that everyone was up to speed on Muggle sports? They didn't even sound REAL. Like why was the word ball in all of them? Did Muggles forget what it was if the name of the ball wasn't in the title? Maybe they should change Quidditch to Quaffleball.

Anyway...
Kaycee, conveniently, knew all about muggle fun. Although, a lot of the things she knew could be considered fun to who were magic. Like her.
She raised her hand. "There's Netflix and chilling." she offered. "Last summer I actually spent a lot of time catching up on all the shows I missed." And she felt sorry for anyone who had no idea what she meant.
She also felt sorry for those people that had no idea what muggles did. Poor souls.

The new rules and advisements had apparently been met with mixed results as students either followed along or left it alone and Professor Moxley was dealing with it fairly. The response to him had certainly been polite. There hadn't been anything bad like there had been at the start of the first potions lesson. Benny had noticed the smile sent back his way from Paulina nearby. It felt somewhat nice to know that he wasn't a total social pharaia. But alas the lesson was beginning and the focus was shifted to what they were talking about today.
Pastimes.
Quidditch was certainly a wizarding one...one that Benny enjoyed, even if he didn't get to play it anymore. As for muggle ideas, the seventh year was content to listen as others offered up suggestions they either knew fit the bill or that might. Crafting...and sports, bingo...and movies,traveling...and games. It was pretty much an assortment of things. Yet the topic of board games kinda took away what had come to mind that both worlds played...chess.

"Hi Professor! You're looking awful fancy today!"
No doubt his quill had found a much nicer way of saying so; it had such a way with words. The thing usually made him sound smarter and smoother than he actually was--but only half the time.
Blaise paused at his spot by the Professor for a moment, wondering WHERE he would sit when he realized the spot next to Noelle was still empty so THAT was where he was going to sit. "Hi!" The boy watched with tempered interest as his quill and notepad settled in by him at his desk, ready to distort the days records but by now he knew better so he fished out a proper quill and parchment too....just in case.
As for the sticker? He didn't know how he was feeling yet so he stuck a bunch of them on his robes. His classmates could figure it out.

Enthusiastic indeed. So enthuiastic, in fact, that Meredith Moxley let out a little yelp and shook her hand after. "Merlin, Prefect Rehman! You're an agressive high fiver. Take it easy on a lady, hm?" The smile remained firmly fixed on her face, the professor being more amused than anything else. She was glad to see the kids getting into the new rules rather than complaining about them. "And thank you!" She knew they'd get a kick out of her bowling shirt. It was fabulous, after all.
"Miss Holiday, lovely to see you!" Moxley's hand was still a bit tingly from Adi's high five so she opted to switch hands for this one. Another comment on her outfit? The brunette beamed. "That's nice of you to say, thank you!"
These high fives were pumping Moxley up, did the kids know? There was nothing like a good solid hand slap between peeps (Peeps? Did kids still say peeps? Err) to put a smile on your face. "Mr. Atreyu, nice to see you!"
"Mr. Mordaunt! It is a great day, yes!" Moxley nodded enthusiastically and then gestured for Ethan to find a seat. She was glad to see the Slytherin in good spirits. He seemed to have a great attitude and the muggle studies enthusiast approved.
Sophie Brown was a good egg, did she know? Moxley had decided as much when she'd come over at the feast and informed some of the staff (her included, obviously) about Mr. Fuller-Thompson missing them. Who could blame the kid? Certainly not Moxley. She was an excellent educator! "Head Girl Brown, nice to see you! You're wearing the badge well, I must say." And she expected that the Ravenclaw would be a model student as always.
"Hello, Miss Lynch! Thank you. I must say the shirt seems to be quite the hit." She grinned, pleased about this. Perhaps she should rock a bowling shirt all the time. They were comfy, after all.
"Mr. Barrington, hope you're well!" Moxley was starting to realize that because she was so incredibly popular and well-loved, a lot of students tended to show up to her class. That meant a lot of high fives and...she'd probably need to ice her hands or something after this. Didn't really think that one through. Hm.
"Very observant of you, Miss Bayless!" Moxley was pleased to see the Gryffindor using the stickers in the way they were intended to be used. "I do hope you're having a good day as well!"
Moxley had noticed the boy as soon as he'd found a seat and his lack of high five (and air five) was noted. She would've probably asked about it had it not been for the look of total confusion on hi face as he looked over the stickers. Scooting off her desk, she was about to walk over when Dot beat her to it. She'd keep an eye on things but she trusted the red head to help out.
This little one had energy to spare it seemed. Spare. Hehehe. Amusing considering today's topic. Moxley grinned, amused by her thoughts as the first year approached and offered her a high five. "Great to see you! I'm doing wonderful, thanks for asking! I hope you're doing good as well." He certainly seemed to be.
"Hello, Miss Richards." Moxley said, watching the girl as she picked a sticker for herself. High fives were appreciated but a greeting was always nice, as well. Just saying. Kids these days, seriously.
Moxley was pretty easy going as far as professors went-or she liked to think so, anyway. Still, she was always a bit annoyed when the kids didn't bother to read her classroom rules. Even the adorable ickle ones. "Miss Summers, it's nice to see you. It seems that you've neglected to read the newest classroom rules as high fives and wearing a mood sticker have been added to the list." She regarded the girl thoughtfully and then continued. "I trust you'll remember next time, or loss of house points will be the repercussion." Oh and also, "And do please sit up in my class. I really don't want you missing out on any of the fun!" Really truly.
"Hello, Miss Andrews!" Moxley returned the smile and wondered if Mr. Rehman and Miss Andrews should get together to discuss high five etiquette. They were both at opposite ends of the spectrum on that front.
"Hello! Mr. Browne, I think you're forgetting something." Was this not reading the rules thing a Gryffindor trait? Wait-Moxley was a former Gryffindor! This was totally a Gryffindor trait! Heh. Well, she still needed to say something. "High five or air five in greeting, Zeke! Please be familiar with the rules." Even if he did think they were silly.
"Prefect Kittredge, nice to see you!" And Moxley would be forever mentally praising Norah's great attitude. She put a lot into her lessons and it was nice to see some of the students seeming excited about being here. "Thank you! I've had it for quite some time. I'm pretty fond of the color myself." It suited her, as most colors did!
Serious little guy was serious. Must be that Ravenclaw angst setting in, hm? Moxley didn't wish that on anyone so she simply returned the air five and smiled a bit at the first year. "Hello, Mr. Truebridge!"
YUP. Moxley could tell he was happy. SO happy. She approved, of course. The Hufflepuffs as a whole were causing her to smile more these days. Buncha positive little puffs. "Mr. Woods, great to see you!"
"Miss Mancini, welcome!" Moxley greeted the Ravenclaw cheerfully. "I'm doing great, thanks! I do hope you are, too."
"Hello, Henric! That was quite nice of you." Except the pumpkin pastries didn't quite make up for the fact that the Hufflepuff hadn't read the new rules. "I got it at a yard sale quite a while ago, actually. On sale, can you believe it?" It had been a steal! Also, "Mr. Nicolei, I do hope you'll read the updated rules next class or I'll be forced to take five points from Hufflepuff. I trust one of your prefects can direct you on where to find them."
"Hello, Miss Xanthopoulos!" It was good to see the seventh year had read the notice about the rules. Moxley gave a nod of approval before hopping back onto the edge of her desk again, feet swinging as she waited for the next student to arrive.
"Mr. Whittebrook, hello!" It was good to see so many badgers in attendance. This clearly meant that she was adored and accepted by them. Or that they felt obligated to show up to her lessons because she was head of house...
"Hello, Mr. Vogel!" Meredith returned the high five and greeted the Ravenclaw with a signature Moxley smile. Then glancing down at her watch, she noted it was almost time to start class.
N'aww, what a cutie! Moxley grinned at the Hufflepuff and returned the high five, noting the blush. "Mr. Montezor, great to see you!" And the color of his cheeks went quite well with the shade of her shirt, how nice!
Merlin, this one was a talker. The brunette listened intently, an amused smile playing on her lips. She had to admit that her name in sparkles would be just the thing to make this shirt better and so she nodded enthusiastically. "I think I'll let you do that, Dot. If you're offering, I mean." She'd help a muggle studies professor out, right?
Yes, Dot was always good for helping which is certainly why she deserved her badge. Moxley was appreciative of her instructions and she gave a reassuring smile when the Slytherin glanced over to see if it was okay she was doing so.
"Why thank you, Mr. Bellaire! I must say I'm feeling fancy as well." The muggle studies professor smiled at the first year and then watched him find a seat. The first years were adorable, the lot of them.
That hair though? Moxley considered the small one thoughtfully, reaching out to touch a pigtail that was sticking up right in front of her nose. Strange.
"Hello, Ellery. You'll find out all about today's topic in just a few minutes. In the meantime, I do suggest you find a prefect to update you on my rules as next time I won't give a reminder, I'll just take points." The brunette shooed the little lion to a seat and then shook her head, a smile on her face. Another Gryffindor.
HIGH FIVE INDEED. Moxley smiled at Zander, pleased to see him in good spirits. "It is more roomy, yes. We'll be needing the extra space in a bit." The brunette winked at him and then added. "I think you'll need to be updating the Gryffindors on class rules at some point, Mr. Adair. Just so you know."
Air five returned, Moxley smiled a bit at Miss Messer before saying, "Nice to see you!" It was, though it'd be nicer if she seemed a bit more enthusiastic to be in her class.
Now this was what she was talking about. Happiness. "Morning, Janelle!" It was a good morning and it was only going to get better once class started, obviously.
Another missed high five opportunity. SIGH. Moxley glanced over at Zander and then gestured to Angel, an indication that another Gryffindor hadn't read the rules thoroughly. It was disappointing.
"It was lovely, Angel, thank you. I must request you reread my classroom rules before my next lesson, okay?" Maybe she should've been taking points all along.
"Why thank you, Ms. Valentine! I'm glad everyone seems to approve of my outfit today." For reasons. Hehe.
"Thank you, Miss Burton! Nice to see you!" Moxley was up and walking towards the door. It was just a few minutes shy of being time to start and she was ready to begin.
That was INDEED how it was done. Moxley was pleased with the boy's enthusiasm and she let out a little giggle at his jump, amused. "Hello, Mr. Romalotti! Nicely done." The entrance. She'd give it a solid ten.
"Good to see you, Mr. Hyland and I did, yes!" And that making him feel happier thing? That was the whole point. Moxley would've been pumped if she knew the high fiving was doing the trick.
Okay, she'd given the others a reminder but Miss Greyvson was a prefect, for Merlin's sake. "I hate to do this, Prefect Greyvson, but five points from Gryffindor." Her voice was low, as not to embarrass the older girl. "You're meant to set an example and I was very clear about reading the updated rules. I'm sure you'll earn back the points in no time." And she felt bad about this, she did. It was written all over her face.
Oh. OH! Meredith Moxley had not anticipated that and the professor let out a chuckle, so amused that the second year had done what he'd done. "You got me, Mr. Bronwyn! Very clever!" And she liked his spunk, she did. "Why don't you go find a seat and a sticker!"
.......
Moxley's good mood was deflating now. Another one who didn't read the rules. Really, it wasn't that hard. It wasn't. All the sads. Internal ones because she was a professional, but still. She motioned for the Slytherin to sit.
SIGHHHHH.
Now she was going to have to address this, wasn't she? Oh gosh.
After closing the door once the last of the students had arrived, Professor Moxley moved back to the middle of the room and looked around at the students. "Look," She began softly,"I know there are a lot of rules to remember at school. I also know that new ones have been added. While I know that there will be times when you've forgotten one or two, I do expect you to at least read them. It's evident this morning that many of you didn't even bother to do that, which is quite sad." She didn't write the things down just to have nobody follow them. "I expect next class you will all have refreshed your memories. Prefects, I'm trusting you to remind the younger students to do so." Here's looking at you, Puck Greyvson. "And with that said, let's move on to the fun, shall we?" A smile graced her lips then and she began to pace.
"Muggles, like witches and wizards, go to school, work, and then come home and have families to feed and care for. Life can be hectic at times and that is why it is necessary to make time to go out and do things that you enjoy." Were they with her so far? She was talking about fun. Surely they could get on board with that.
"Pastimes are activities one does for enjoyment rather than for work. One such pastime for the wizarding community would be recreational Quidditch. That's quite popular among the masses. Can anyone hazard a guess as to what a popular muggle pastime might be?"
Noelle shuffled her chin around her desk to find a comfortable spot And to also see who was coming in . She saw many faces she recognized. She gave a brief smile to Henry who she had seen catch her eye. He deserved one. She liked him.
Hearing a voice beside her, Noelle looked to see Blaise sitting beside her. She offered him a small smile too because he was nice and her friend.
Hearing the teacher start talking... She realized she didn't grab a sticker. Groaning, she laid her forehead on the table. Come on Noelle, cheer up now.
Sighing, she listened to the professor talk some more. She kept her head on the desk though. Finally, not wanting to loose any points, she carefully lifted her head and lifted her hand. " my family is half-blood but we live as muggle farmers .. So we farmed and played different games such as corn hole to past the time.

There were so many extraordinary rules that applied in here. Yeah, she did say extraordinary rather than weird. But so far, the rules were fine and fun for her. Even that she's not a kind of girl who is a rule-follower.
Okay, moving on to the lessons. This question was so EASY for her. Growing up in muggle neighborhood and go to school with them, of course Ava knew very much what did they like to do for fun. Hand up in the air, the Gryffindor girl answered the question. "Muggle kids love to play games. Like, going to arcade game center and there are so many games there. But mostly girls don't enjoy it, so they prefer to gossip and chat with the others about boyfriend, make up and any other weird things."

Colt forgot to read the rules and shrugged. Hey teach you lucky he even showed up for the class in the first place. Maybe he wasn't in the mood for a high five? He would be more careful next time. He didn't know you had to greet each Professor every time you enter the room. I mean he could see why it was polite but that seemed like a lot of energy. He just wanted to sit in the class and just be doing his own thing. Moving on, he heard Moxley was it? Yeah Moxley asking the class about other activities muggles would do after work. He heard other options people were saying.
He thought of one and raised his hand, "Playing Wiffle Ball?" He played that game with his cousins a lot. He didn't know when it was invented but he was pretty sure for a long time.
Oh, a lost baby one! Dot put her scary teeth-face away and leaned over, tapping the blue one (for Ravenclaw!!!) with the little 'O' mouth. Maybe he wanted a hug or something? But you had to ask, and she wasn't supposed to be talking out of turn and... being responsible was exhausting.
"Maybe that one. It's okay if it isn't perfect. It's just a social convention. You do it to please someone else and make the moment go away faster. I'm Dot, and I don't actually smile like my sticker. D'you need a hug? I give excellent hugs, but I have to ask first." She may have peeked at Moxley to make sure her talking wasn't a problem.
He had been so focused on trying to work out the business with the faces on the stickers, that Daxton had not been prepared for anyone to interact with him. He jolted slightly in surprise when hand appeared, pointing out one of the faces, and looked up to see a real life human face looking right at him. A real life human face framed by some very vibrant red hair. Daxton blinked, then looked back at the stickers.
Though a part of him was resentful about being given help, mostly he was just just so confused by the stickers that the explanation was almost welcome. A social convention; that explained why it made little sense, but if it did not matter if the sticker was not perfect, then what was the point of choosing one in the first place?
Daxton was not one to intentionally try to please people, though sometimes catering to his own needs just happened to coincide with doing so, and as he did want the moment to go away faster, that was exactly the case today. No doubt people would soon be staring; Daxton had already noticed the Moxley woman looking in their direction. He peeled the blue sticker off of its sheet and stuck it directly onto his school tie.
As for the rest of all that, Daxton was very abrupt in shaking his head 'no' at the threat offer of a hug. He opened up his notebook to the first page where his name was written, and then looked up at the girl - Dot, her name was - again, noticing her badge for the first time. Another one. These prefects were everywhere; was it catching? Did you perhaps sprout a badge after breathing in the prefect germs? He hoped not. It seemed illogical anyway. Daxton gave the badge a long look, an impassive expression on his face. Her sticker got the same treatment, and then Daxton looked away again, considering the exchange to be over.
Once the class started and the emphasis was immediately placed on rules, Daxton felt the ennui coarse through him. Always, always, on about the importance of the nonsensical rules. Not that it mattered to him so much this time, of course, as it was unlikely he would be returning to his class.
When the other students began providing answers, Daxton did not bother taking notes or trying to think of his own response. Instead he focused on what everyone else was saying, and how strange some of their answers were too. David Truebridge seemed to be talking another language entirely; Dot was talking about metal staircases being a pastime; one boy had mentioned 'wiffle ball', which sounded like he had just made it up on the spot. It was all very curious, and everyone in the class, at some point or another, ended up with Daxton's full attention. For all the wrong reasons.

And Muggle Studies sounded like a subject that was easier than pie.
So, the slightly enthusiastic first year headed into the classroom and made a beeline for the Professor herself. He might have made a show of limbering up first, making sure to stand somewhere near the door and streeeeeeetch out his arms and legs before doing the deed.
Yep, Phillip Romalotti ran up to Muggle Studies Lady and JUMPED UP to give her a high five. "YEEEEEAH!" SEE? THAT was how it was done!
"Hello, Professor," Lady. Person. Whose surname he had forgotten. The Slytherin gave her a smile before moving to sit next to......
............ Owen! The remembered THAT part giant kid. "You're very red in the face. Do you feel hot or something?" Because it wasn't THAT hot in here, c'mon Owen.
And the mood sticker? He was going to go with one that had a simple smile on it for now.
SPOILER!!: Prof!

It was great to see him, the prettiest Professor said. Owen blushed some more. She was really so pretty...and nice too! No wonder he liked her.
Turning to the Slytherin who sat beside him (Phillip), Owen shook his head. He was red? Why was he red? He was not red! He was yellow."No, I'm...I'm good. It's just my um...natural color." O.O
He was about to take back that 'natural color' comment when the prettiest Professor Moxley began to speak. They were staaaaaaaarting. She reminded them first about rules not being read. That definitely was not him. He read and followed the rules, especially because this was Professor Moxley's class.
Moving on...she was talking about pastimes. Muggle pastimes! Ooooh. Owen had lots of pastimes! Raising his hand, the young badger said, "Games! We play games at home, Professor maa'm! Cooking games, puzzle games...we even play backyard soccer!" He beamed shyly.

So they were going to talk about muggle pastimes. That explained the Professor's attire for the day......sort of. When the class was called to order, the first question of the day was posed. Janelle listened as her classmates began to answer the question and raised her hand to give her thoughts.
"Some Muggles like to ride bikes.". At least that's what Janelle's muggle friends and family members liked to do. That was one of the things that Janelle really used to enjoy.

Updating Gryffindor's on class rules? He gave Professor Moxley a nod in understanding, when really what was she-- Oh man. He looked around the room and even just a quick one was enough to reveal that the majority, if not all, of the people who weren't wearing stickers... They were all dressed in red. Yet another thing Zander had already screwed up. l o l. Being Head boy was going great, thanks for asking. Merlin. He'd have to give everyone a reminder or something. This was so bad that Moxley was actually giving a speech about it to the entire class.
His cheeks were going pink. He could feel it. And he didn't even do anything wrong!! He was wearing his sticker and everything. Merlin. Zander needed to chill. Zander pls.
As for the question though... A lot of the answers were really, really amusing. The seventh year had to try his absolute best not to laugh at some of the things that were said... But y'know.... Ahem. All in a days work. "Watching television shows," with family and friends. Marathons, binge watching old reruns, waiting a week for each new episode OR WAITING TWO YEARS for three episodes and another hiatus. Ahem.

"Yard sale, wicked! Good for you, professor!"Henric gave her a thumbs up.Oh new rules...he scratched the back of his head...oops...honestly, he really did forgotten to read them."Uh sorry. professor...my bad." What were the new rules again? He would make sure to read them soon. Although, to lose five points would be a repeat of last term event. He had accumulated the housepoints he had lost so far in Hogwarts,*count mentally in his head* 8 points. Wow.Funny...how easy he could lose points yet it was so hard for him to earn them back.Hmm...meh. Story of his life.
-----
Stickers? Where? He didn't find any sticke-...oh. It fell under his desk somehow, no wonder he didn't notice it. He picked it up and chose the orange one with the cute emoticon face on it. It kind of represented his mood a little. Henric was still happy even though he almost lost his housepoints for forgetting the new class rules and also not to forget Candice who obviously seating way on the other side, probably hating his guts right about now. What was her problem? Anyway, all of that would not dampen his mood. He would definitely remember to high-five Professor Moxley at the start and the end of the class too. Don't worry, Professor!
Oh oh! He knew this answer!! He could mention tons of muggle favourite pasttimes. He raised his hand excitedly, "Definitely video games and football for me! And also miniature golf, years ago muggles like to play them with a group of friends and family as well."

Brian was giggling. GIGGLING. He hadn't expected wizards to know so little about Muggles, especially considering that most of these things were outdated by like fifty years. Nobody had backyards unless they were really rich. Property was way too expensive for that. He was trying very hard not to snort, because that would be rude, but there was a first year (Davie) who was speaking a TOTALLY different language and Brian thought it was about something like electronics, but GIGGLE GIGGLE.
Giving an air-five to Kaycee for suggesting Netflix and chilling, which were amazing things that had survived fifty years of modernisation, he beamed. He'd been a couch potato with Netflix too, when he hadn't been practicing the cello. ALL THE CATCH-UP MARATHONS happened in the summer. Mmmhmm. He would have to ask her what shows she watched later. Because she was clearly the only one here who actually knew about modern muggles. "Video games, professor." They pretty much took over all sporting things by now. Sports had to be playable in tiny spaces because there were no more wide open ones. Those were probably extinct. Or deserts, but it would be pretty difficult to play football in the Sahara.
A muggle past time? Weren't there loads of things?
Timmy had peeked into her old neighbor's house once and saw them dancing around. Not her type of dancing, of course. She was a professional. But they didn't seem to do that often, mainly when they had free time. "They like to watch the telly a lot. My previous neighbors even yelled at it," Timmy nodded.
What did the telly ever do to them?

Oops?
Haha. At least Moxley wasn't mad about his WAAAAAY enthusiastic high five. "Sorry, Professor! High fives rule, you know? Couldn't resist.'' Yay for having a cool HoH! Immediately after he sat, there came one of his Puffers. "Hey, Polly!'' Yay! She was sitting close to him! Hmmm... interesting choice there for the sticker. Next up was the guy bestie. ''Dragon.'' Eyes for your sticker too! "Am I not enough to cheer you up?" He was teasing, knowing that Benny couldn't help how he felt.
Incoming high five! Adi happily reached up to return the gesture to Ethan. He was so PLEASEEED that Moxley had came up with this rule! "Heya, Henry!'' And there was another baby badger too! Owen. The seventh year started grinning as he watched the boy and his blush. Yup, the Big Guy was still crushing on Moxley. Cinna and Henric got grins. So did Candice. Naaaah, Adi didn't mind the fact that she purposely sat far away from him. Hehe. The girlfriend got a wink and a wave as she got into her seat.
.....................
Annnnd the door was shut signalling class was about to get started. Ah, yish. The rules. Thankfully HIS Puffers seemed to have all read the rules. Not for the first and certainly not for the last time Adi sat there feeling SUPER proud of them. He loved them, okay? Okay.
Moving on!
Ohh, what an easy peasy question! The Hufflepuff listened to some of the answers. Blaise had the right idea alright! FOOD! YES! Eating was very important and one of the best thing to find one's self doing. Henric had the right idea too! Football was fun but not as much as cricket. VIDEO GAMES! Adi wanted to high five Brian right there but too bad he was sitting away from him.
Anyway. Hand up, the seventh year supplied, ''Listening to music, Professor. Or playing their own music on their instruments. Or both.'' Yes, both. Both was good.

Eagerly sitting in her seat, utterly excited for her first proper Muggle Studies lesson back, Reagan peered around the room. She'd high-fived Professor Moxley, tickled at the prospect of making a new acquaintance. It had almost been a hug but...Well, Rea had to keep reminding herself that some people didn't like that, which was a shame. Sometimes...that was all that people needed; a hug, a kind word, and a little affection. She was a firm believer in that it could make all the difference.
Mood sticker gleaming from the center of her forehead, she chewed her lip...hoping that the Professor's mood wouldn't be sour for the remainder of the lesson. It was a beautiful day! Too beautiful for bad moods...in her honest opinion. Soon enough, however, they were moving on into the discussion portion, and she breathed a sigh of relief. Good...because the older lady was smiling. Yay!
"Scrapbooking, Professor." Reagan actually didn't KNOW if this was the case in the muggle world...but she personally LOVED to make scrapbooks. It went with her flower-pressing, and all the trips she'd taken with her family. Rea was pretty big on commemorating events in her life, you know? Surely...the non-magic folk did something similar.

She's not in the mood dealing with those two Hufflepuff boys. So that's why she choose to sit FAR far away from them and hopefully she didn't need to interact with them in today lesson. So when Adi gave her a grin she just flipped her hair. And Ava got a 'Hello' nod and small smile from her.
Not long after Ava took the empty seat beside her, Moxley decided its time to start the lesson. And she was addressing the new rules. Yes, people read them. Even though she thought the new rules was kinda peculiar she still read the rules. Nod. Nod. Nod.
Popular muggle pastime?
There were a LOT of things muggle liked to do during their pastime. Football. Basketball. Or just sports in general. Watching TV. Going to the beach. Play games. reading books. And her classmate already mentioned them all.
"Host a party." They certainly liked to host a LOT of parties, especially her muggle neighbor back in Denmark. And no one has mentioned that right?

Jet was curious about today's lesson as soon as she noticed professor Moxley's outfit, but it wasn't until she mentioned pastimes that the Slytherin was really into whatever they'd be studying that day. She would've guessed the professor was wearing some sort of football wear or something alike. Not that Jet knew much about Muggle sports, but she had heard of football.
"Yoga." Was her contribution, because she was interested in that particular activity. "And gardening." She added because that happened to be her favourite pastime. A lifestyle, even. There were a few more things that Jet knew about, but she thought those two were the most relevant for the moment, especially for what the professor was wearing. Unfortunatelly she was aware they wouldn't be doing Yoga that day, for that was no Yoga attire.

Olly knew the rules. He had actually read them, which was sort of surprising. PLUS this was like the millionth muggle studies class so he would definitely have known them by now. But SOME people didn't. Like ELLERY. She didn't even give professor Moxley a high five. That was so rude. And she was asking a bunch of questions. "Psst Ellery, this is Muggle Studies, not history." Did she forget? But then class was starting so Olly turned his gaze and his concentration forward.
What did muggles do for fun? They probably did a lot of the same things wizards did, except without the magic of course. But Olly had to come up with an answer nobody had said yet. And it had to be good. He raised his hand. "They watch movies!" See? It wasn't such a weird thing. He liked to watch movies too, even old muggle movies with Ellery and Colin. "Some movies have magic stuff in them, like boys who can fly, but for muggles is all just pretend." Ha. How boring.
