This wasn't a seven year long sleepover with stair sliding, cartwheels and getting lost on the moving staircases for fun. Instead, it was the primary foundations of their lives in the magical world. Magical education. This was supposed to be a big thing for the students here, not just a doss, right?
He would ask his Mama next time he owled her.
And Miss Sophie Brown (of Hogwarts) when he saw her in the common room later.
He stepped off the staircase and shrugged. "You have your priorities, and I have mine, I suppose..."

It's a big part, and yes, the studies for the classes are even bigger. Al in all, I think school teaches you about everyday life as well as charms." Noelle told him with a tilted head. She was in awe of someone that preferred his nose in a book than rather going outside. Or at least, that's how she thought he was acting.
"You are very much correct there. But I think that's what makes us individuals. Is our priorities and opinions. How boring would it be if we all had the same opinion?" There wouldn't be any debate, no learning curve. She stepped off the staircase as well, and kept pace with him. She found him a bit intimidating but as she "looks through the eye glass of another person." As mom would say, she realized she he was looking at things differently than she was... And that was perfectly okay.

SPOILER!!: Candice
She need to stay in shape so she could still do some diving with her uncle next summer and the only thing she could think of by doing some jogging around the school grounds. "Yeah. I sometime need that too." But today she just need a very peaceful and quite jog.
Candice grinned when her fellow Gryffindor said that she's insisted for her to join her. "Cool!" She hoped that this staircase going to move soon. Or she might joining AJ kicking this stupid stairs.
"Really? it did that? When I was running late it never move. I have to yell at it a couple of times before it finally moved." And she was pretty sure the portraits were not happy with the yelling. "So what should we do then? Kick it like your original plan?" Because she kinda tempted to do that too.
Peace and quiet. Hmm. That didn't at all sound like a good time to her, but to each their own. AJ pretty much marched to the beat of her own drum and was usually the odd ball of the group, but she didn't mind. She owns it. *insert finger snaps here* "Sounds lonely." Again though, whatever floated your boat.
A smile lit up the fifth year's face when Candice joined her. Okay stairs, you are going DOWN. You have two lions on your case now. AJ gave the stairs a good stare down too just to prove a point.
"It did. I think the stairs like to play tricks on me. They never do what I want them to do." If she was running late again then you better believe they would be moving, but because she wanted them to move they were at a standstill. Of course they were.
AJ actually wasn't sure what step she should take, but that wasn't going to deter her. "I think some good kicks, stomps, and jumps might do the trick." Without wasting any time AJ gave the stair above the one she was standing on a firm kick. She followed it up with a karate chop and a solid "HE-YAH!." Sound effects were important.

... Rooney wasn't sure that he wanted to stay around much longer here with Miss Noelle Summers talking all sorts of nonsense at him. What he really wanted to know was why she said so much but actually meant so little. Or, well, that was how it seemed to him. Fidgeting with the hem of his robes, Roo shrugged. "I doubt it would be boring, because something other than opinions would be different." Like their appearances. And the same opinions didn't mean anything, as chats about opinions could lead to very thorough and in-depth conversations analysing the initial opinion.
Noelle was giving no sort of impression on Rooney that made him want to stay for much longer, so as he reached his intended destination, he offered her a hand to shake and spoke. "It's been very nice to speak to you, Miss Noelle, but I must get to my reading.."

Noelle got the impression they wouldn't become best friends. Their personalities were too different, so when he turned to shake her hand, she smiled and gave it a firm shake. "It was nice meeting you too Mr Rooney. Do keep safe around the castle."
She wasn't used to not making friends, and this was a first, but it was bound to happen sooner or later. She nodded at him and then headed to continue to her destination.

If that was the case then she was already liking them more. Poor misunderstood stairs. That's all they were.
"Maybe so. What do you think it could be?" The possibilities were endless. You really needed to know what kind of stairs you were dealing with. Bullies? Pranksters? Misunderstood? That sounded like a whole lot of thinking, and she just really wasn't down for that. Nope.
"Please," she asked the stairs. Her mom did say you got more flies with honey and she was pretty sure that was a lecture on manners. Would it work? AJ even stopped her attack on the stairs just to give them a chance to change.

She was pretty sure that the stairs have brain. Because to her right now the stairs was mocking them by being a regular boring stairs. MOVE! "Or maybe its their sleepy time?" Was such thing even existed? Bully? She didn't think so. "Yes, Prankster more likely." And its even more annoying than Peeves.
Okay. All that kicking and jumping made her tired. Not to mention she just got back from her jog. Now she has no more energy left. Mayday. Mayday. Maybe she should sat down. Yeah good idea. Candice sat down on one of the stair. As soon as she sat down she felt the stairs move. "I think it just moved." Maybe AJ magic word made it work.
