The Gryffindor smiled widely at the returned wave, before politely listening to his house ghost speak for a bit. All this was way more interesting than the other guys, Zander had decided. Maybe it was 'cause he was biased? Naaaaaah. It definitely was more interesting. Plus, Nearly Headless was the most enthusiastic and FUN, which made listening all the more rewarding.
At the prompt for questions, Zander stayed quiet at first, letting other ask before raising his own hand. Okay, this had nothing to do with history... But uh, "Sir, what's your favorite part of being a House Ghost and getting to represent Gryffindor?" He was curious, okay? Also, was there a way Zander could also just stay and chill with you at Hogwarts for the rest of his life? 'Cause this whole real-world thing was not really working out at the moment. Ahem.

| Otter This World ♡ Catpurrccino ♡ Slotherin ♡ Pandamonium What was up with this lesson? Hady wasn't sure what all this was about and honestly she didn't entirely see it's importance right now. It sounded as if all the ghosts here needed to get together and talk over a few things...outside of the classroom. She didn't think their love lives or um past love lives? needed to be spoken about right here during a lesson. There was nothing the students could do about any of this besides listen. Cause Hady knew for sure she wouldn't be commenting any of her thoughts right now, she knew nothing of others loves and even less about her own known existing love life. It was all much to complicated to handle. So the fourth year continued to do as she had been all lesson...sit there and listen. Nothing more and certainly nothing less.

| ½ EagleBrain ♥ Creeperdoodle ♥ Raven Dor ♥ Berry ♥ ½ Team House Elf Sir Nicholas was clearly the most level-headed ghost in the school... minus the fact that his head probably WASN'T level... what with the awkward hacking incident. Ahem. But he did have questions, MANY... he would have to decide what to ask though, seeing as everyone else would have their own.
The mention of Nick's Death Day coming up was no news to him. He was given the task to organise a party for it after all. Funny that.
BUT... question. "Sir Nicholas?" he started, hand semi raised, "what do you think was your most courageous act?" Because he was clearly heroic and courageous and all that jazz.

I've heard that people are semi-conscious even after their heads get cut off, kind of like chickens, and I was wondering if that is true? No offense intended, Sir, I'm just curious."
VERY vERY curious, and when else would he get the chance to interrogate a ghost like this for academic purposes?! He was going to write home and tell Dad about this class. Not Mum, since she was afraid of ghosts, but Dad. Dad had taught this class. He'd know. Grinning broadly at the young Ravenclaw, Sir Nicholas folded his arms across his puffed out chest and counted to four on his fingers. Four fingers for four questions.
" No. Yes. Excruciating. I cannot recall...I was a bit preoccupied with the forty-five hacks AND...as the Bloody Baron was so kind to allude to, my head was never fully severed. See?" Pulling the hair on the top of his head, Sir Nicholas gave his head a tug to the side, ensuring that Sir David received the optimal view of his angry half-inch. Quote:

Ooh the drama wasn't over yet, it seemed. Heather was really something...wasn't she? The girl could probably be crowned for most numbers of detentions at the end of the school term though. Ooh..and everyone was staring daggers at her, umm...not a good sign.
And as for him, he didn't know what to think about the whole situation though. Would he forgive someone if he had been in Professor Ravenclaw's shoes? What about the Baron? The Baron fell in love with Professor Helena, was he all to blame for his unrequited love? Hmm...deep stuff there.
Now, it was Sir Nicholas turn to talk about himself. Henric's ears perked up with more interest and curiousity."Congratulations Sir for your upcoming event, but I would like to know...why did you choose to become a ghost?" Henric asked as he raised up his hand. Head properly in place once more, the Gryffindor ghost's face fell ever so slightly. " Quite simple. I feared death." Quote:

It was interesting to think that some of them had been alive when their school had been founded; Professor Helena was actually the DAUGHTER of a founder.
How cool was that?
As she listened to Sir Nick speak, Paulina raised her hand. Why were you executed, Sir?" That wasn't a bad question to ask, was it? " Of my own folly. I am sure you can image the looks on a court full of muggles when the lovely Lady Grieve appeared shrieking at the sight of the tusks I had mistakenly transfigured while trying to straighten her crooked teeth. Well, they did not take kindly to witchcraft and locked me away that very day and removed me of my wand taken and locked away somewhere therefore prohibiting me from doing as many a witch and wizard do when faced with such dire circumstances...magically protecting myself and escaping." Sir Nicholas folded his arms behind himself - still visible through his semitransparent form to the rest of the class - and thought for a moment. " Seeing all those who cross the boats as first years and leave here with better sense than I." An answer for the first half of the Head Boy's inquiry. The latter was too difficult to pin down to just one aspect. Quote:

| Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna The story of the Baron and Lady Helena was sad and awkward enough, but there was a housemate that just HAD to stir up trouble. Benny fought the urge to roll his eyes as Heather spoke up, once more being rude like nobody's business. That was one person he personally hoped to never see again once they both graduated. No house reunions for them please. Thankfully she was reprimanded by all three of the ghosts currently residing in the room and while the Slytherin's idea was pretty grusome, maybe it would scare her straight.
Nah....
Anyway, Sir Nicholas was there, after having apparently come through poor Henric. Cue sympathetic shiver at the thought. That was going to be something weird...missing the ghost's deathday for once. Another to add to the list of changes for not being in school next term. But he focused his attention on the rest of the story as well as the questions being asked and answered. At least he got to learn some more about his house ghost.

Angel was totally enjoying listening to her house ghost, he was so inspiring, he didn't stop doing what he wanted because of a little hic-cup. "Do you wish things had gone differently?" Angel asked after putting her hand up, she wanted to learn a lot more about her house ghost.

| ½ EagleBrain ♥ Creeperdoodle ♥ Raven Dor ♥ Berry ♥ ½ Team House Elf Nick was HILARIOUS... far more entertaining than the others, no offence to them. But the whole WHY he was executed was actually rather amusing. Terrible that he had to die for it, but still, hilarious.
What Zeke also found curious was the 'fear of death' thing. He didn't understand what there was to fear... it was a thing that happened. Quote:

Zeke was expecting a pretty darn good tale, so he was disappointed when it seemed he wouldn't be getting one. Too many, pssshhh, excuses. But then... a SEVEN HOUR DUEL?! "Whoa." Seriously.
Did they duel then like they did today?
Did he win? Obviously he won, it wasn't what killed him...
So then... did he have pointers? Tips? Tricks? Advice?
Did they use the same types of spells that they used today? Or had things changed somewhat?
SO. MANY. QUESTIONS.
He would have to ask after class, he wanted an edge for his next duel, this would be his chance if he could keep the conversation between them.

Henric made a face when he saw Sir Nicholas pulled the side of his head to show to the Ravenclaw kid. Urgh...the horror. *close eyes for now* When he opened his eyes again, Sir Nicholas had his head back on again. Fuu...good. He gulped. The look on Sir Nicholas face said it all! He felt so bad...urgh, he should think before he asked. They were doing Q&A session...Henric didn't mean to make the ghost of Gryffindor uncomfortable. Hmm...so...wizards/witches who were afraid of death became ghosts...a point to take note of. But how exactly they turned into ghost? Was there a choice before they turned into ghostly apparitions? They just stucked in this realm forever?...Couldn't they moved on with the hereafter?...All this questions kept popping up in his head and he had to control himself from asking more.

Was that cold look supposed to impress her? Scare her? Well, it didn't. After all, what could the ghost do? Pass through her? And she wasn't scared of Professor Flamsteed either. Yes, he'd probably lecture her like no tomorrow and maybe give her detention, but that was it. And it was there was nothing that Healer Murdoch could do, as she was a Gryffindor. So, it was an empty threat.
Heather wasn't going to apologize for speaking the truth, but then Sir Nick spoke up. "Sorry, Professor Ravenclaw, Mr. Baron." Completely insincere, but she faked it enough that it sounded sincere to her ears.
Sir Nick's story, while much more interesting than the rest, didn't stir up any questions in her mind, so she sat and listened to his answers to others. Who were getting kind of morbid......

Sir Nick's story, while much more interesting than the rest, didn't stir up any questions in her mind, so she sat and listened to his answers to others. Who were getting kind of morbid...... Helena hovered silently in front of her desk as she listened to Heather's hollow apology. Not one shred of it was sincere. However given that class was ending she was going to let the lioness off the hook. "I accept your apology Ms Xanthopolus but you should keep in mind that rudeness and thoughtlessness will not serve you well in the adult word."
**
Turning to Sir Nick she smiled "Thank you Sir Nicholas for visiting class and sharing some events of your fascinating past with us." Floating forwards Helena adressed the students. "I hope this lesson have made you all feel that you know gotten to know us house ghosts a little better and that you've gotten a better understanding of ghosts in general since we ghosts have had an impact on hogwarts history and will continue to have that for many, many years to come. Class is dissmissed!" Ooc: Class is dismissed. I'll lock the thread tomorrow morning my time so you all can exit.

Quickly jotting down the Gryffindor ghost's answers, Davie beamed at him gratefully and then packed up his things. Yes, yes he'd learned a LOT about these fantastic beings which had impacted Hogwarts.
"Thank you for the lesson, Lady Helena!" he called out to the professor-ghost on his way out. Despite SOME rude people.... Davie liked getting to know the ghosts!

| be curious, not judgmental It was actually a really nice relief when it was Nick's turn. Soph had always liked the Gryffindor house ghost a lot, best of all four house ghosts, and she listened to his story with a smile. He was so proud of his bravery; it was admirable. And when he mentioned his Deathday Party coming up in October, the smile faded.
Never again would she be around for one of Nick's Deathday Parties. Sad, sad times.
It was always really cool when Nick pulled his head aside and showed the little bit that was still attached, as oddly depressing as it was, and Soph watched her peers' faces instead of Nick when he did it, just to see how other people reacted. It was super sad that he'd been killed in the first place and suffered the way he had, but a really cool trick, all things considering.
Nick's answer to Zander's question made her smile again, though, and Soph watched Zander's response to the question this time. She knew just how much Zander loved his house ghost, so she had no doubt that the feelings were reciprocated and there was part of the ghost's answer that was referring to the young man sitting before him who had asked the question.
So, so cute.
A duel that lasted seven hours, though? Soph couldn't even imagine. Must've been a pretty even match-up, and though she was curious to inquire more about it... he was probably right that they didn't have enough time to explain, and that proved to be so when the Grey Lady signaled the end of class. Maybe she and Zander could just shoot the breeze with the ghost later. What else did the guy have to do? Surely he'd love talking to them and recounting his life stories.
Packing her things away, Soph slung her bag over her shoulder and moved to leave with Zander, not before offering a little wave and a, "Thanks for the lesson," to all the present ghosts.

| doesn't proofread tweets | #wrongaboutcereal | #siriusly? | emo to the extremo Zander listened intently as Sir Nicholas recounted the adventures in his life. The ghost was truly admirable in Zander's eyes. Had a good head on his shoulders, even though it was only nearly attached still.
Zander's eyes visible lit up when it was his turn for a question and answer. The Gryffindor wasn't really sure what he was expecting Sir Nick to say, but the answer he did give kept the smile still on Zander's face, whilst his face gathered the slightest pink shade. Man, he was one of them... Right? One that came so long ago and was almost leaving. Except he was sure that Sir Nicholas still had better sense than he did. But the Head Boy grinned in response and gratitude for the answer, before turning his head to look over at Zeke who was asking the next question.
And whoa.
Seven hour duel?
Zander wasn't sure that he'd be able to ever last that long. Must've been absolutely exhausting, but the fact that he kept it up that long only meant that he didn't let his strength falter at any point. Merlin. Such a hero, truly. Honestly, Zander kind of wanted to hear more about the ghost's adventures, but then their Professor went to call time and end the class. Man. See, if they had let Nick go first, then he could've just taken up the entire class period.
He did, however, move to pack up his things before turning to give Sophie Brown a small grin. Standing up, he slung the strap of his bag over his shoulder. "Thanks for coming to speak to us, Sir Nicholas," he smiled. "And thanks for a wicked lesson, Professor." And then he made a reach towards Sophie's hand before starting to make his way towards the door.

Again the Grey Lady, or Professor Helena, or whatever she was calling herself these days, mentioned the whole IMPACT they have had on Hogwarts History. But WHAT that impact was, and the historical context it took place in was unknown to him. Was he supposed to know THAT? Because he didn't... he just knew some random things about the ghosts.
Would Nick's seven hour duel be in his O.W.L exam next year? He hoped so, or else he might be in a pickle.
Packing his things - eager to leave now that they were dismissed, Zeke farewelled the ghostly Professor with a "Thanks, Prof," and slipped out the door.
FREEEEEEEEDOM!
