Welcome to your first duel.

This is the first step of determining your standing in the HexTournament, and more importantly, discovering who you are as a dueler.

Each dueler is expected to adhere to all DADA Classroom rules, Dueling Club Rules and SS site rules.

Spells may be used from the following List. Any spells on this list are not permitted unless approval has been granted.

Physical actions and their costs can be found below:

NOTE: Fatigue points ONLY need to be used when you are physically attacking someone, or avoiding a spell. All other maneuverings around the hall do not need to be accounted for.

A referee (Professor Flamsteed or Dakest) will be assigned to your duel and present. They will only interfere if there is need, including foul play, serious injury or unacceptable or illogical use of spells.

OOC: Each duel must be completed by no later than October 24, midnight GMT-6 (OOC). Remember that a duel ends when one dueler has lost ALL magic or ALL health points. Please make duels a minimum of 3 posts each.

These first duels will be a trail run of sorts. The point system for the spells and physical actions was done by thought and hasn't been tested. You all are the guinea pigs. Let me know how it goes

If you find that there are be difficulties in the weight of points, please let me know. If there are spells missing you think should be included, please let me know.

If you have questions, please ask. Also, if for some reason you cannot complete or start your duel, please let both me and your partner know. We will work something out.

Remember: duelers MUST keep track of their own points as they go. At the top of their post (in the tag line) they must include their current standing of points, as they are at the BEGINNING of that post. At the bottom of their post, they must include a 'spoiler' tag, including the spells which they've cast (and the directionallity of the spell, so the opponent can easily reference the potential damage to themselves), the spell(s) that have affected them (if any) and their own final Point Standing for that post.

Oh. Good. Her fingers were back to normal.

At least that was SOMETHING.

When Hady walked over to her too – grinning!!!! – and extended her hand, Maggie just stared at it for a long moment. Moving any part of her body HURT now but she couldn't be a sore loser right now. So she somehow managed to a) put on a sweeeet smile and b) put her hand in the other girl's. There was no way she was getting up though. Nope.

And Hady would go find Zeke for her? Pfft.

"No I'm fine." Totes not. "Unless you can, like, get him down here..." Like, in here. Maggie was wondering why people hadn't already come BURSTING in to try and help her. Like. Rude. They must have really good protection spells on this room or something.

Airey spoke many tongues, but teenage (or pre-teen) was not one of those. "Alright then," he said cautiously while taking another step towards the Slytherin. "Seeing as you are unable to stand on your own and what, ahem, magical means did the last time..."

Swallowing his anxiety, the astronomer slowly knelt down and then, after only another few seconds of second guessing himself, moved to scoop Miss Traulton up off the ground.

Mr. Zeke? Nope. NOOOOOOOOPE NOPENOPE. Definitely not necessary. Snogs would not fix this and the professor did not fancy adding insult to, er, injury by giving them both another detention.

"You may inform Mr. Zeke that he may wait in the waiting area of the Hospital Wing for Miss Traulton to be seen by the Healer," he instructed while adjusting his princess hold on Miss Traulton.

Hady gave her friends hand a small shake before letting go. It was easy to see the discomfort on the other girls face. Taking a small step back she was going to say something else but the words died on her lips before she even had a chance to fully form them.

Running a hand through her dark now completely mess hair she pulled the hair tie slipping it around her wrist. "Yes Professor I can do that," she agreed easily enough not wanting to get anyone angry or prolong Maggie getting her injury taken care of.

Without further ado she turned on her heel and left the dueling area heading for the stands but not before she had gotten the chance to speak once more, "I'll see you in a few minutes Maggie...and I'm sorry. I really didn't mean for you to get hurt." She had to apologize. It was her fault and she truly was sorry about it. Even if she hadn't meant for it to happen.

Now to go find Zeke and hope he wouldn't be to mad at her.

When Professor Flamsteed picked her up she winced. OUCH! Couldn't he at least have given her something against the pain first? There surely must be a spell for that. No? Maybe he was just being mean. It wasn't like she was his favorite person in the entire universe. For whatever reason. Ahem.

So, no Zeke in here then. Meh.

Well then, there was nothing else for her to do here then. Which was why – and with a big dramatic sigh – she simply FAINTED in Professor Flamsteed's arms. Yes, totally unconscious there. And she didn't care about Hady's apology right now either. At least she could have her DRAMATIC EXIT then.

Yes. Now she could be carried out. Farewell.
