On the fourth floor corridor is one of the few balconies in the castle. With a view of Hogwarts grounds, this balcony is a great place to take a break from doing that lengthy Arithmancy homework, or to generally relax with your friend.
Maggie giggling was a sure-fire sign that she was going to continue taunting him, so he was prepared, what he wasn't prepared for, was THAT. He shook his head. Nope. Nope. Not happening. "I'll just have to kidnap you myself then." Especially if she was going to twirl her hair like that. He leaned in again for another kiss, this time a little longer than the last. If he ever did need to have her kidnapped (highly unlikely but he always got carried away with these things), he would arrange for an old toothless man, a fat woman, or himself. Those were the options. Mmhhmm.
...
He didn't get it.
Was he in trouble?
He FELT like he was in trouble, but he couldn't think of WHAT he'd done wrong.
If she wasn't going, would he go? ..... "I'm allowed to hang out with friends, aren't I?" Or had he missed something. He was still frowning, because it sounded stupid. 1) Because she would be there and 2) So what if she wasn't?
He was going to kidnap her himself? Why did that sound oddly appealing? Maggie smirked lightly. "You can tryyyy." It wouldn't be easy of course. Maybe they could have him 'kidnap' her some time. Like, for fun. Those thoughts were interrupted when he leaned in to kiss her again, however. Longer this time. Good boy. Maggie had even reached up to pull him closer by the back of his neck for the duration of the kiss.
Good. It seemed like this balcony was NOT part of Flamsteed's territory.
Hang out with friends? Of course that wasn't the problem. He didn't need permission from her for that obviously. "Never said you weren't." All she'd done was ask him a simple question no? Why was he getting defensive now? Maggie mirrored his frown. "I'd just appreciate it if you told me when you're staying at another girl's house for a few days." Like, she deserved to know, right?

He could try. THAT, was permission if ever he heard it, and it was VERY very tempting. It would be fun, and also educational. Very educational. Self defence and stealth and strategy. All those good things, it would benefit them both. Mmhhmm, and at the end of it, he'd have her, and that would be all that mattered. Of course, he was thinking all this even during the kiss, unable to switch off despite enjoying the moment.
What he didn't enjoy, was whatever this all was. Had he done something wrong? He really didn't think so, and when Maggie confirmed that he was allowed to have friends then he was even more confused. The tension in her tone as she annunciated 'appreciate' had him hanging on her every word, but his frown quickly settled into an expression of disbelief. "What?!"
...
Really. Just WHAT?
"But I'm not staying at another girls house for a few days..." he stated, using her words precisely so that there would be NO confusion. "I mean, we had discussed the idea of it, but this was before we were dating, when I was still living in Prague..." was she following this? NOT DATING. NOT IN LONDON. Ergo... it was a convenient way to spend the summer with a friend.

His disbelief was making her even more upset for some reason. Like, he didn't even GET that he'd done something wrong. Which was even worse than the actual thing. And Maggie had even spelled it out for him basically. Yet Zeke was still looking at her as if she was being unreasonable.
Like ????
"But you are? Hady said she invited you to stay with her." Had Hady been lying? It didn't really sound like the other girl but who knew. Maggie looked down at their hands before meeting his gaze again. Everything he was saying didn't exactly change anything. "You'd still just say yes now though right?" She paused for a moment, eying him closely. "Without asking me first." Right?

He really didn't know where this was coming from. Had Hady said something? Or was someone else spreading rumours? In an effort to convey just how STUPID this all was, he squeezed her hands, tugging them gently as if to shake it out of her.
"No!" He wasn't. "She invited me to visit, she wants a tour of the city, so I said yes... but I didn't say anything about staying over, I have no need to now." Did she get it? Did she see? Merlin. And to think he'd hoped this time would be spent relaxing... so much for that.
What got him the most, wasn't necessarily that she was questioning his arrangements with Hady, or whoever - he really didn't think it mattered who was involved, but it was more the fact that she clearly didn't trust him still. Releasing his hold of her hands, because he felt DEFEATED, Zeke shook his head.
"No, I wouldn't, and I wouldn't need to ask you... because it wouldn't happen, not unless you were going to be there."
There. Whatever she wanted to make of his statement was up to her, but he didn't feel the need to be staying overnight at any girls place unless he was in her company. Hanging out with friends was one thing, but he wasn't stupid - or at least, not as stupid as some people thought he was.

It all sounded so plausible.
Like, she really wanted to believe him.
Which was why Maggie just stared at him for a long moment after he was done talking. While she wasn't entirely sure what he was trying to say by not needing to stay at Hady's now, she didn't voice her thoughts. "Okay." Was all he got in reply, accompanied by a nod. Okay then.
When he dropped her hands, however, she pouted a little. Looking up Maggie searched his eyes for any signs that he wasn't being genuine. Nothing. There was nothing that even remotely suggested that what he was saying wasn't the truth. So with a small sigh she stepped a little closer and took hold of his hands, lacing their fingers together. "Okay." She repeated, giving his hands a soft squeeze. "I believe you." And because even Maggie had to realize that she'd just blown this whole thing out of proportion she bowed her head slightly. "Sorry." Her tone was quiet, just in case someone else was listening.
Like, she had a reputation to uphold after all. And apologizing was not usually her thing.

He ran his hands over his face trying to rub away the confusion and annoyance, Maggie's 'okay' was not convincing him at all. This seemed far from okay. It also didn't help that she wasn't meeting his eyes, it's what people did when they were being deceptive or thought they were being deceived and neither of those things appealed to him at the minute.
When she did look up at him though, he could barely bring himself to blink. Watching as she stepped closer, and accepting her fingers lacing with his, he released a slow breath that he'd been holding. She believed him now? Did he want to know why she seemed to have sufddenly changed her mind about that? "But you don't trust me..." came his response which was more of an observation than anything else, though with her apology he could hardly stay upset with her.
Zeke let go of her hands once more, but not to give her space, instead he wrapped his arms around her shoulder and pulled her into his chest for a strong hug, resting his lips against her forehead. When did things get so complicated? He was sure this wasn't how it was supposed to be.

'But you don't trust me'
Maggie blinked and instinctively shook her head. "No, I do." She did, too. At least she thought she did. There was no real logical reason for her not to trust him right? So why had she been carrying that Hady thing around for the past few days? It was almost like she was just looking for reasons not to trust him. Even making them up along the way. "I want to." She corrected herself, giving him an apologetic look.
The hug was very welcome. Especially because it meant that she didn't have to see his face for a few seconds, didn't have to see that she'd managed to upset him. Hugging him back Maggie tilted her head upwards a little to plant a kiss on his jawline.
Now could they go back to joking about him having her kidnapped or something equally cheerful?

Even when she said she did, he couldn't believe it, and as it turned out neither could she. Wanting to, was all well and good, but it wasn't the same. Of course, he didn't blame her for this, it had been at his own hand, and something he clearly hadn't yet made up for. The kiss on his jaw made him smile though, it wasn't the end of the world.
He held her like that a moment longer before loosening his grip and slowly but gently nudging her backward so that she was against the balcony's edge, his hands then leaning on it either side of her. She was technically cornered, trapped, which was right where he wanted her. "So," he started, leaning in to plant a kiss on her cheek, "what do I have to do," and a kiss on the other side, "to get you to trust me again?" Hmm? An answer would be great, otherwise he was more than happy to keep her here for as long as he felt like it.

Maggie complied immediately when he made her move backwards until she could feel her back reaching the edge of the balcony. What was he doing? She watched him curiously, an intrigued smirk playing around her lips. "Keeping me hostage again?" She commented softly. He was into that wasn't he? Well, she certainly didn't mind it either.
Zeke's question was a loaded one and Maggie wasn't quite sure how to answer it. Like, if she knew she would've told him already. By now him still trying to make it up to her had lost its appeal somehow. Especially once she'd realized how it affected her. So no, she didn't really have a solution yet.
Also the kisses were quite distracting did he know?
Giggling lightly she reached up to run her fingers through his hair. "I don't know." Maggie replied truthfully. "But what you're doing right now's a pretty good start.' See, she could be cheeky too.

Her smirk was always a winner, so it pleased him when she did, even if she was onto him. "Something like that," he agreed with a casual shrug. Could she blame him for wanting to? He didn't think so. BUT, that didn't answer his question, which was far more important. She had to get over it eventually, it wasn't as if he cheated on her anyway, he'd just... left her. Which okay, sounded awful, but it wasn't quite that bad. AND he hadn't left her since, so if that wasn't proof enough he'd learnt from his lapse in judgement then he didn't know what was.
The giggling as a good sign though, so he bent his head every so slightly to accept her fingers in his hair. It felt nice, did she know? He had really gotten used to it. I don't know... was NOT the answer he was looking for, but if THIS was a step in the right direction, then he would certainly comply. "Weeeeellll... I could do this all day," he boasted, turning to peer to their left and their right in case there were pesky Professor's about to ruin their fun. Content that they were without adult supervision, Zeke took her chin in his hand and pressed his lips against hers, this time he wasn't planning on pulling away so quickly.
Resident Ghost of Ravenclaw | Intelligent & Evasive
After she had dismissed her class Helena had left the history domains to float up through the floors to the fourth floor balcony. She needed to be alone with her thoughts and emotions. The balcony was suitable for privacy. The students were all heading to dinner so chances that she'd be interrupted out here were small.
Floating over to the railing Helena stopped hover and just to stare out over the vast grounds. Why couldn't the Baron have left some things buried?

Something like that, right. Maggie's smirk grew and she shifted to bring their bodies even closer together. "Keeping me all to yourself." She clicked her tongue and shook her head slightly, almost as if she were scolding him. Which she obviously wasn't. No. She liked him taking charge like this.
Like, a lot.
Maggie continued to play with his hair, tugging on a few strands, trying to put it in order. Unsuccessfully however, although she didn't really mind. She was used to it by now. There was no fixing his hair. Her hands soon moved to either side of his face, however, holding it in place when he kissed her. "All day?" She mused against his lips, smirking slightly.

She had no objections.
She was closer, he liked that she was closer... especially with the mock scolding. It was cute, did she know? Zeke found himself nodding, agreeing with every word she said. Yes, keeping her to himself was his objective, why would he want to share her with others? Pfffttt... "I'm terribly selfish," he confessed, a fake solemn expression as he shook his head with what one might describe as disappointment in himself (yeah, no).
It was perhaps her Slytherin rubbing off on him, but he knew what he wanted, went out and got it, and now... wasn't about to let it go. That's what ambition was, right? Aim high, achieve and never let go of it?
Eyes closed, he continued kissing her, he had been enjoying having his hair played with but her hands on his face were not unwelcome either. And as for 'all day', yes, all day... or at least he'd give it a red hot go. All he managed as a response was a mumbled 'mmhhmm' against her lips. Too busy for words here.

Terribly selfish. Heh.
Maggie giggled lightly at his expression. "Terribly selfish." She echoed, moving even closer to him. It wasn't exactly a bad trait. At least not when it came to this. She liked that about him. "Don't change." Not about this, anyway. And like, in general too.
Maybe his hair. No, just kidding.
She really couldn't think of anything better to do at the moment either, so all day sounded just about perfect in her ears. However, after a few moments of simply kissing him back, Maggie tilted her head a little, hence successfully breaking the kiss. "Maybe we should go somewhere else. More private." She whispered into his ear before leaning back just enough to be able to look at him.

She kept getting closer, and it was having an effect on him. He wasn't complaining, but he wasn't sure how long he could stand like this without whisking her away, sweeping her off her feet like he said he'd do before. Considering she was agreeing with him, he didn't think she minded, and this was confirmed when she told him not to change. "Oh I won't." He wasn't planning on being less selfish with her anytime soon. Just the thought was ludicrous.
He was liking this... and the light breeze was appreciated too. What he didn't appreciate, was her lips pulling away from his. Noooooooooooo. Inspired to protest, Zeke opened his mouth to speak, but quickly shut it, a sly grin forming on his lips instead. "You, Maggie Traulton, are all sorts of brilliant." And he didn't want to waste any more time. Bending over a little, he wrapped his arms around her, picking her up against his chest, spinning them right the way around so that he was no longer facing the grounds but instead was facing the fourth floor corridor. Though, he only managed to take a few steps before opting to place Maggie down on her feet again. Still, he got them on their way. His fingers lacing together with hers, Zeke gently tugged her in the direction of the seventh floor, and the Room of Requirement.

"Knew you would have said no, anyway.'' He just thought he would ask, being such a polite guy and all. Your loss, Brooklyn.
Was that sarcasm? He wasn't sure but it didn't stop him from grinning. "No problem! Don't forget about me when you're rich or famous.'' Hehe! Adi wouldn't forget about her either when he was both. Oh, no... there went his stomach's cry to be fed! Ugh! He had better get moving to the Great Hall. "If you're sure you don't want to head down to breakfast with me...'' Adi stepped away from the rail. "I'll see you around, Brooklyn. It was nice chatting with you.'' He meant that. He did like the Snakette, after all. With another grin, he took off.
Breakfast, here he came!
It was definitely getting warmer on the balcony. Brooklyn was almost glad she’d retreated to the shade, along with the fact the annoying stomach noise shad thankfully stopped coming from the Hufflepuff she was unfortunately sharing said balcony with. The Hufflepuff who had honestly surprised her with how easily he had taken her refusal to have breakfast with him. It wasn’t as if she didn’t want breakfast. She just didn’t feel like spending it with Adi and his incessant and strange cheerfulness. But the fact he’d bothered to ask if he’d known she was going to say no just seemed like a waste of time. Both his and hers.
She’d rolled her eyes at his response to her other comments, too. Either he didn’t understand sarcasm or he was just way too cheerful to actually feel like dealing with it. Kind of irritating too. “I wouldn’t worry about that,” she replied. She’d remember him just to remind herself to avoid dealing with him, or people like him. She could be positive enough for herself, without it getting to an annoying level. In fact, she was very positive when it came to her own goals. Plus, there went the sounds again, and she’d eyed him for a few seconds before he’d made his retreat. “I guess so.” It seemed like it was unavoidable, especially since she was going to end up down at the Great Hall soon enough getting her own breakfast. She just made sure to wait enough time so it wouldn’t look like she was following him.
