On the fourth floor corridor is one of the few balconies in the castle. With a view of Hogwarts grounds, this balcony is a great place to take a break from doing that lengthy Arithmancy homework, or to generally relax with your friend.

This was a really nice view, one he suspected Bentley would have appreciated if he could see it with his camera. As it stood, Blaise didn't have a camera and he didn't need one; not when his quick quotes quill and notepad were floating right next to him. It was almost time for lunch but before then he didn't mind looking down and people watching.
If he was lucky, Suri would be wrong and there WOULD actually be dragons somewhere around the school, then one could swoop down and HE would have the story first. Sell it to whichever paper around this place paid him the most jelly slugs and cauldron cakes.
Which reminded him, he...needed to speak to Professor Airey.

Dora had NOT followed Blaise out onto the balcony. NOPE. Okay, maybe she had been sneaking up behind him with the stealth of a mini ninja. Heh. And when she was CERTAIN he had not heard her she gave a loud battle cry RIGHT BEHIND HIM at the same time she tickle attacked his ribs.

NINJAED!
HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHE!!
He didn't know he was being followed, he didn't even hear when Dora crept onto the balcony because he was busy telling himself that the speck in the sky, the one waaaay over there was a dragon headed toward them. So when he was suddenly tickle!attacked at the ribs the boy gave a little squeak and wiggled about some.
"Heeeey!" Blaise squirmed until he'd turned completely and could now see his attacker even as the last of his giggles died down. "Dora!" He glanced briefly over at his quill to ensure it was still floating and hadn't fallen over the edge before giving her a wide grin. "Nearly gave me a heart attack. What you up to?"
Anything interesting he could join?

This view was awesome! Especially when it was kind of early in the morning. The sun was already up though and it was casting a warm glow on him and the surroundings. He loved it! He was enjoying himself by soaking up the sunshine, feeling at peace at the world and very much energetic. Yup, being up this early never bothered him since it was something he had been doing for years now.
The only regret he had was not getting something to eat from the Kitchen on his way up here. He had thought about dropping in but he figured that the elves were busy with breakfast preparations. Ah well. Adi supposed he would just have to get something to eat at the Great Hall.

Brooklyn didn’t do mornings. Unless she had class, but she hadn’t really been able to sleep. Whatever reason for that, it meant she’d been awake early and ended up wandering. Even if the prefects were out patrolling or whatever, she wasn’t planning on getting lectured. She wasn’t doing anything wrong anyway, unless walking was against the rules now. That would be stupid, if it was. She had no problem saying so, had she ran into anyone during her wandering. It was actually really quiet, and she’d gotten all the way up to the fourth floor without seeing a soul aside from the paintings. And the occasional ghost, but no one who’d felt the need to stop her.
Either way, the first person she saw was possibly the last person she wanted to see, aside from maybe a professor. She’d thought about turning back around, too. He had obviously not seen her, but then it was too tempting not to say something as he’d walked out onto the balcony. “I won’t stop you,” she said, keeping a good distance away just to emphasize her words. Not to mention to keep from any attempts at hugs or anything else. Either way, she meant what she said. She wouldn’t stop him if he leaned too far out, if he fell or anything else happened.

Adi has thought he had not stashed any Chocolate frogs in his pocket but much to his delight, he found he had one. Apparently it was left over from the last time he had worn this pair of jeans. One of the true happiness in life was reaching into one's pocket and finding your favourite sweet treat. Adi happily ripped away at the wrapping and then proceeded to bite the frog's head off as he leaned over the balcony, looking down.
Omnomnom.
Hmmmm? Who wouldn't stop him from what? The chewing Hufflepuff turned. He smiled brightly at Brooklyn. Since he was still chewing, he waved at her as he quickly swallowed. "HIII, Brooklyn! How's it going? You look SUPER sleepy, by the way.'' Hehe.

The appearance of the Chocolate Frog caused narrowed eyes on the small redhead, yet Brooklyn didn’t particularly care. She wasn’t really a big Chocolate Frog eater anyhow, so even though it was kind of rude for Adi to eat in front of her, it wasn’t as if she wanted any. Had he even known she was there, since he hadn’t exactly reacted to her statement yet. Actually, that was rude too. She ignored the part where she hadn’t exactly greeted him. That wasn’t important. But then, he also was leaning awfully far forward, which brought back her comment about not stopping him from jumping. Or falling. It didn’t really matter which. She wasn’t stopping him either way.
Of course, then he’d turned. Which put him back on her side of the railing, and she’d inwardly sighed. Even more at the way too animated wave, as if they were friends. They weren’t friends. Especially not if he was going to insult her like that. “Well you look way too cheery for this early,” she replied, annoyed. Why things couldn’t go the way she wanted, she didn’t know. But it irritated her either way. She would have much rather avoided the insults. And the cheeriness.

Rusty <3 Sorry it is shorrrttt, just setting up hehe.

Marsha couldn’t believe that Halloween was almost here again. It wasn’t even a week away which meant that Rusty would be celebrating Samhain again, hopefully with her; because she didn’t want her best friend celebrating something so special and important by herself. That wasn’t nice, and she had really enjoyed it last year. It had been eye opening and amazing to witness… and as much as she liked dressing up - being with her bestest friend was so much more important.
Grinning over at her fellow redheaded second year Lioness she smiled as they got to the balcony. ”I had never seen this balcony until yesterday… isn’t the view beautiful?” Smiling widely she bounded over the railing and looked out over the grounds. ”Do you think we could see Bartholomew Henry in the lake from here?” She asked before turning back to look at Rusty as she joined her.

Was it just him or did Brooklyn look disappointed about something? Adi could also see she was annoyed at him but that was her usual emotion around him so that was nothing new. "What are you so disappointed in?'' he asked as he felt about in his pockets. Nope, no more Froggies to offer a Snakette. "Sorry, I dodn't have more Frogs.'' He felt kind of bad. Here he was pigging out and he didn't have one to share.
The Puffer laughed. "What's not to be cheery about? Its a great day.'' Cue the hand waving in the general direction of the beautiful day outside behind him. "Did you ever take a look at the view? It's awesome!'' Adi beckoned the Slytherin over.
Torie walked along the corridor out of the library, he'd figured he'd better be working on his charms homework and had been there most of the morning. Heh, better than running around last minute doing his homework right? He saw a few students around the balcony and lent against it looking out and down inside the castle. What a height, his dad wouldn't like this area, probably had stayed away from it when he was a student, though mum would have liked the height, she'd still have preferred higher than that. Him loving to fly on his broomstick, agreed more with his mum. The height was lower than he liked but still it was high up. Sighing he figured he should actually go eat and get back to the library. Maybe Chris was down in the Great hall.

Chris wandered along the halls aimlessly dressed in his Prince Charming costume as he waited for Timmy's birthday party to start and mainly because he looked good in this outfit. As he looked around he spotted Torie and practically skipped over to him. "ALAS!!!! I have found my dearest friend and can rejoice!!" Yup he could totally pull this off. Too bad he'd probably looked at as weird if he dressed like this all term.
Grinning he gave Torie a hug and looked around. "What are you doing up here? A little far from your Hufflepuff hiding place," he teased.

Torie was still leaning against the balcony looking out, nope he didn't want to go eat because the sooner he did that the sooner it meant he had to get back to his studying. This wasn't even his OWL year! He turned a little when it sounded like someone was trying to skip. "M...w...Chris?" he asked blinking at him in his costume. Had he missed something? Really now? A prince? "You do realize there's no prince's in the wizarding world, right?" he asked blinking.
He blew a raspberry at his jest, and hugged him back, though he was still confused by the costume. "Going somewhere?"

Chris rejoiced a bit in Torie's confusion and spun around so he could see the ENTIRETY of the outfit because...let's face it he really did pull it off. "Ahhh but Prince Charming is a fairy tale character and thus so am I." He laughed and gave his bestie a huge grin. "Besides...I do think thy are just jealous that I rock this so well." Sword and all. YUP he totally nailed this one. Mmmmmhmmmm.
His grin widened as Torie hugged him back and he looked at his own costume, "A party of course. Would you like to go with? The more the merrier!" Though they would need to get him a costume because what he was wearing was just inexcusable for such a gala as he was about to attend.

He still was so completely confused, Prince Charming? He snorted when he realized what he was dressed up as. "Is there a princess that's supposed to be there?" he asked his eyes sparkling with laughter. "Costume party I take it. Who's party is it?" He couldn't help wanting to tease his best friend, it still amused him that he was dressed as Prince Charming! "I'm jealous?" he asked with a laugh and shook his head "Nah, just amused, if you....err thy thinks thy rocks it, so be it."
Merlin, please tell him he didn't have to wear a costume as ridiculous as that! "I don't even have a costume to wear if I did go."

"Well Timmy was going to go as Snow White...or Cinderella...ah I forget but I don't think she is so NOPE just me and my charming self," Chris said with a grin. "It's Timmy's birthday Brian put together a party for her and I kind of helped....though really he did most of the work." Hmmm he should really thank him later but he wasn't going to take credit for work he didn't do. Nope. Wasn't his style.
He eyed his best friend and puffed out his chest, "Hmph. This costume rocks." Or...well...maybe it didn't...his confidence was starting to go in his costume choice and he looked down at his costume again. "You don't HAVE to wear a costume...but I'll make fun of you if you don't." Mmhmmm forever and ever. "But...I would like you to go with me..." He tried to hide whatever blushing might have made it to his cheeks because he always seemed to turn red and instead started playing with his fake sword.

Obviously Adi had totally misunderstood everything that had just happened. Of course, Brooklyn wasn’t really surprised at that. He seemed to misinterpret most everything she said or did, if his insistence of treating her like they were friends said anything. She would’ve thought even the Hufflepuffs would have chosen someone smart to be their prefect, but then maybe they were less intelligent than even she thought. As he’d asked her about disappointment, she didn’t even answer. First off, she wasn’t disappointed, and second, even if she felt like answering, she didn’t think even he would have the time to hear it all. “I don’t eat frogs,” she said as he’d apologized. He could keep his frogs.
And his next comment just got another of her looks. Yes, the weather was nice, but it was still way too early to be that cheerful. “Of course I have,” she said, rather irritably. Even though she did walk up to lean against the railing. At least she could use the view to pretend he wasn’t there. She imagined it would have even been better higher up. She could see farther, but this was good enough.

He snickered, right so the princess and prince charming. Sounded about right. He nodded when he said it was Timmy's birthday and they'd put that together for her. He was so amused by this costume Chris had on. Prince charming...so cheesy honestly! "Of course it does." he said a little smirk playing. He couldn't help it! It was like something his sisters would want him or Jay to do! Was that what happened to an only child??
"Oh good, so I don'...wait, what?" he asked blinking "I don't have a costume to wear!" he said blinking. He really didn't! He certainly wasn't going as Prince Charming. Nope, no way, it was like the Barbie doll thing! "I guess...I could go as....a Ravenclaw?" he asked snorting, "Borrow your robes or something."

She. Didn't. Eat. Frogs? Was it weird that Adi thought that this was one of the reasons she was always in such a particularly bad(ish) mood? Or maybe it was just him? Being around him, he meant. Oh, well. It didn't bother him. Brooklyn was always going to have this cheerful Hufflepuff. "You should. If you did, maybe you'd be... happier? More cheerful? Something along that line at least.'' Yup, Adi was speaking his mind.
He just remained silent for a moment as the Snakette went closer to the rails. The Puff was thinking that he should just shut up and let her enjoy the early morning sunshine and it'll probably put her in a better mood. But him and shutting up? Ha! You'd have a better chance at taming a dragon. "Where's Tywin? How's the term so far for you?" he asked now bracing both hands against the balcony and peering over again.

She really didn’t see why that statement had caused Adi to act almost as if she’d said something shocking. There had to be more people who didn’t like chocolate around here. Brooklyn thought it pretty much impossible she was the only one. It had nothing to do with anything. Especially not her opinion of him, although the reaction had made it lower a little bit more. “Probably not,” she replied. “I prefer sugar quills.” If he really felt like knowing that. The idea of having to catch her candy just didn’t seem like anything that would make her happy. Or having to bite its head off merely so it didn’t try to escape. Surprisingly, she wasn’t evil to frogs, unless they did something to merit it. Frogs weren’t spiders.
At least she’d gotten a few seconds of peace, once she’d approached the railing. Maybe letting him think she’d taken his offer actually accomplished something, even when she hadn’t actually done it because he’d asked. She didn’t have to tell him that. Although the peace was broken only a few moments later. Unfortunately. She’d raised an eyebrow as he’d asked about her cat, too. That wasn’t going to raise her opinion either. “Down in my dorm,” she said, still looking out at the view. Either that or the common room. She just knew Tywin wasn’t off wandering. “There haven’t been any spiders.” He’d asked how the term had been so far, after all. That was all she’d say about that.

Aha. Sugar quills. "I'll keep that little fun fact in mind,'' Adi told Brooklyn now getting all cheery again. Yep, he was getting over his surprise that she didn't like chocolate Frogs though he wasn't exactly sure why it had come as a surprise. Brooklyn was someone unusual... kinda. Anyway, he DID like to keep information in his head when it came to his friends. "I'll get you some the next time we're allowed to go to Hogsmeade.''
Okay, so Tywin was probably still cat napping. Get it? Cat and nap? Haha. Adi was hilarious! As for the mention of spiders... "Yeah. I'm glad about that too. Though I'm sort of resentful towards their webs more than the actual spiders. I really hate the way the things feel.'' He had developed a slight phobia for the sticky webs.

Brooklyn seriously didn’t trust anything he said. As Adi had responded to her statement by saying he’d keep that in formation in mind, she’d narrowed her eyes a little. Of course, that wasn’t as noticeable since she was still looking out at the forest and the view and not at him. She hardly cared if he remembered it or not. As long as it stopped him from going on and on about chocolate frogs…and she hadn’t said it to ask for any either. She could get her own if she wanted. She still had a few left over from the summer when she’d bought them in Diagon Alley anyway. She didn’t need to ask for handouts. Gifts, maybe, but not from him.
She’d honestly stayed quiet up until he’d spoken about the spiders. That would always get her attention, but more so because the memories were still fresh. She would always remember being bitten and how she’d felt for a long time after that. The webs were nothing. “So? Those can always be brushed off,” she replied, glancing over at him rather incredulously. It was a lot harder to brush off catching some weird spider illness from invisible spiders. Which reminded her that she hadn’t seen Cutty since last term. Maybe he’d ended up some sort of weird spider creature. Shudder.

Adi remained silent for a long time. In his head where a whirl of things: stuff he had to do later on that day, deciding on a study time table (which he eventually made but never got around to following until a few months later) but mostly why Brooklyn seemed to hate him so much. He just couldn't put his fingers on the reason or reasons. So what did the Hufflepuff decide to do? He just asked out right. Yup. "Why do you hate me so much?"
"Well, yeah they can be or moved away with a Charm,'' Adi replied cheerily, now boosting himself up slightly by resting his hands steadily on the rail of the balcony and letting them take all his body weight. He was just testing the strength of his arms, guys. Maybe he should shut up with the spider talk? Brooklyn didn't seem to get that the webs could be just as bad for him as much as the spiders could be for her. Mainly, he was considering that the talk might upset her morning. Well, upset her morning more because she obviously wasn't too pleased with seeing him though why she stuck around with him was a great question. "Let's talk about something happier.'' Wheee! Looky! He could boost himself up properly! His feet weren't touching the floor! Cool! He let himself fall back onto his feet and began bouncing on them. "Have you thought of what you want to do after you graduate?"

The silence was definitely nice, but Brooklyn didn’t trust it. She didn’t trust it at all. It wasn’t even the matter of not trusting Adi. She still felt like she had a reason for that, just because of his tendency to seem like he wanted to hug her, as if that would do anything. But the silence was definitely suspicious. Almost to the point of wondering if he’d really given up on getting her to talk, until he’d finally spoken and she only got that much more suspicious. “Why do you think I hate you?,” she replied after a moment. Not answering the question at all, but then in her mind it wasn’t like she hated him. She hated spiders, and being disrespected. But she didn’t hate people. Just distrusted them.
And back to the spiders. If he was so worried about whether or not she hated him, talking about what she really hated wasn’t going to help his cause. “Exactly,” she replied, ignoring his little feat of strength. She didn’t particularly care about what he could or couldn’t do, not when it didn’t involve tracking down her cat. Tywin hadn’t run off lately anyhow. She figured even he’d gotten spooked by the spiders last term. The only reason she’d come back was the fact that everything had said the infestation was over with, really. That and her continued desire to do something that her sister hadn’t. She’d narrowed her eyes as the Hufflepuff had spoken yet again, though, even though it wasn’t anything to do with spiders. She didn’t see how that was happier, or why it even mattered to her. “No.” She was only a fourth year, after all.

Adi stared down at the ground as he waited for Brooklyn's answer. What was he feeling? Just curiosity. He had seen her being friendly with others so he was wondering what it was that she disliked about him. Of course he didn't mind if he was not liked. Hehe. Ah. He should have known Brroklyn would choose to answer his question with a question. "I dunno. Maybe I'm always too happy and cheerful and that gets to you?'' Yep, that's what he always thought. Now the Puffer just needed a confirmation on that. Or a denial. Whichever.
Wheee! He was strong! Superman he could be, maybe? Naaaah, BATMAN! Yeah, the Dark Knight RULED! Anywayyy, Adi was greeted by a single word in response to his question. "Alrightey! I was just wondering since you're almost a fifth year and you would have to choose which subjects you need to do for OWLs and NEWTs.'' Or if she was as ambitious as him, she'd write them all. "Hey, if you need to talk about careers, I'm all ears.''
