After following the sloping, earthy passage to the Hufflepuff Common Room, you'll find yourself in a large circular space. The room is cozy, low-ceilinged, and filled with natural sunlight streaming in from the circular windows that are level with the ground outside the castle. If you peer out, you'll have an amazing view of the grass, flowers, and perhaps even people lounging around.
The room is decorated in the Hufflepuff house colors, filled with beautifully polished wooden furniture, and the comfortably worn sofa and chairs sitting in front of the fire place for those looking to relax. The portrait of Helga Hufflepuff has been hung with care above the wooden mantelpiece and she looks out over the common room, holding her golden cup up in a toast.
For your seven years here at Hogwarts this will be your home and there's no better place to get to know your second family than right here.
Olathe stared nervously at the small vial of she held in her hand a little uncertain about trusting her own brewing skills even with the professor's approval. But then again Cosgarach had deemed it a successful brew and he was the teacher. She pulled the stopper from the vial and drank it.
Olathe stood there for a moment not feeling any different she frowned thinking her potion wasn't right at all. " I didn't know our room colors changed?" Olathe mumbled to herself as the room's bright golds faded to duller shades of grey. Suddenly she felt oddly uncomfortable in the kind of way than left you feeling as if you just needed a good stretch. She reached out with her hands hoping the small arm stretch would be enough. The stretching movement didn't go as planned as she stretched instead of hands she found paws her left was a white fur covered and right was the same only orange in color; with sharp claws extended out in to the woven fabric of the rug. it WORKED! She was a cat her excitement came out as a soft meow. She moved her new paws on the rug. the fabric felt nice lightly tugging her claws as she kneaded her paws on the rug. No wonder cats did this all the time it felt nice.

What object should he animate?
THAT was the question.
Adi just had one spell left to practice and he was rather pleased with his progress. He flopped down on a comfortable couch in the common room, looking around at the various objects there. Oh look! Someone had left a Charms textbook right on the table next to his couch!
Perfect!
"Piertotum Locomotor!'' Point!
Now, given the level of difficulty of this spell, it was no surprise when the book remained stationary as ever. But it did take him aback when, on his second attempt, it suddenly jumped up, balancing neatly on its base.
In amusement, the Hufflepuff watched the object did a weird sort of wiggle then attempt to walk by putting one side of itself forward then repeating the action with its next side. It walked to the end of the table, wiggled then turned back then did a back flip. The book had moves, yo!
Adi clapped. "Bravo! An epic flip that was!''
The Charms book bent over as best as it could without tipping over in a bow.

Moving around the common room, Paulina was looking for an object that she could turn into a matchbox. The spell would be pretty simple, but she wanted to add a little challenge by using a bigger item and casting non-verbally. Only problem was she didn't know WHAT big object to use.
Biting her lip she picked up a chair cushion. Maybe that would work... It wasn't massive, but at least it was bigger than her Transfiguration textbook. She was too lazy to look in her dorm and see what she had lying around. The sooner she got this homework done the sooner she could have a nap on the couch.
Chair cushion it was then!
Paulina sat herself down on the floor by the fireplace. The warmth was nice and relaxing which always made spell casting easier for her.
Mentally she began practicing the incantation. Flint-ee-FORS... Flint-ee-FORS... Flint-ee-FORS... Pretty simple, so it didn't take very long before she felt ready to move on to the wand movement. This was also pretty simple. Point and upwards flick. Point and upwards flick. Paulina kept at it until she had the movement down perfectly. Now it was time for her to try the spell out for real. This would be her first time trying it out silently.
Flintifors! she thought as she concentrated as hard as she could on what she wanted the spell to do. To her great satisfaction, she now had a matchbox instead of a cushion. AND it had been her first try too! Paulina was proud of herself as she reverted the spell and put the cushion back in place.

After grabbing some of the things he and Henric would need to complete the Muggle Studies homework from Moxley's prop trunk, Adi headed back to the Common Room with said fifth year Hufflepuff. Today's pretend:
Tea Party in Space.
Hehe. Sure, Moxley had said that they only need to do one but why stop there when it sounded like extra fun to do two of the options? Credit to this awesome idea went to Henric. Mhmm.
"Got the astronaut suits here, Henny,'' Adi said cheerfully as he deposited all the props into a couch. He wasted no time in grabbing one to pull on. He did so easily, tugging on the prop air tank and mask and all the other necessities a real suit would have. "Need to hurry, Henny. The countdown for lift off will start soon.'' Hehehe.
The bouncy Hufflepuff bounded under a random table, sitting flat on the floor. This was going to be their 'rocket'.

YASS! SPACESUITS! HO-HO! Henric excitedly put on the suit and zipped it all the way up to his neck. "Alright alright! I'm going as fast as I can here mate,"he chuckled. Since there weren't anymore prop air tank mask like the one Adi was using, he decided he could use a cardboard box shaped like a helmet instead. Haha! Yes...Henric remembered making one of these back in the day. He didn't want to burden his parents asking them to buy him toys he knew they couldn't afford. So, he would use left-over materials he found at home to make-up for the little toys he had when he was a kid.
Cool! A random table for their 'rocket', nice! He crawled under the table beside Adi and pretended to turn on all the 'ignition buttons',"Check-check Astronaut Nicolei to Astronaut Rehman, all system check and ready to go, contact mission-control to prepare us for lift-off, over." Oh man...he always wanted to say that!

WOOT!
Two energetic Hufflepuff dudes with the best hair in the world were now going to space to show off their good looks! HAHA! Admittedly the younger one was somewhat slow but it gave enough time for the older one to remind himself that they had just left all their supplies for the ‘trip’ on the couch! Waaah? How could one just forget about their tea supplies?!
Adi crawled out from under the table to grab the supplies before dumping them in ‘the rocket’. Not a moment too soon for his co-astronaut joined him a second or two later. Oh, yes! Poke all them buttons to get things started. Poke, poke, poke!“Astronaut Rehman to mission control! We’re all set up here, reading and waiting for lift off. Astronaut Nicolei is finally set!’’ Hehe.
Also, this was no time to be precise with scientific jargon and stuff. The more off cue they were, the more fun it was to Adi because that was the point of this little activity… to use their imaginations. “They’ve given us the all clear,’’ Adi reported after pretending to listen into his earpiece. “Want to do the countdown, Astronaut Henny?”
Gwen walked in and laughed, Of course, someone was already doing the homework for Muggle Studies 2. Oh man, she wanted to join in, or at least do something for the badger challenge. And yeah, she loved the Muggle Studies homework. Well, she'd just have to watch and wait.

Oops, did they forget something on-board their spacecraft? Henric stifled his laughter as he glanced back to what Adi had brought along with them. HAHA! Okay then. He used his hand to pretend speaking through his earpiece in his ultra-cool space box-helmet,"Astronaut Rehman had just secured our supplies...good job brother!"He gave his co-astronaut a thumbs-up."Affirmative, we are now ready for take-off!" OH MERLIN...THIS IS EXCITING! He imagined himself to be in the 'cockpit' area and wondered what were going through the minds of each of the astronauts as they were preparing themselves for take-off. Oh look, Henric noticed Gwen, a first year, watching and laughing over their muggle studies 'pretend play' assignment. He waved and winked towards her. Hey...he was not going to blast off to space without throwing a wink or two to dedicated watchers. Hehe.
Henric beamed at Adi, "Do I ever!*ehem* Roger that, Astronaut Adi! We are launching in T-minus ten seconds....nine....eight...seven..." Henric began counting down as he 'braced' himself.
His body 'shook' and 'vibrated' as they made their ascend up to the sky and imagined their space shuttle passing through each of the Earth's atmosphere at the speed of light!

Yes, yes! They had their precious supplies! He flashed his co- astronaut a thumbs up too! Ohh, lookit that! They had a someone come watch them lift off! Cool! Adi, too, waved to little Gwen, a big grin on his face.
Annnnd their take off was almost here! Adi let Henric have all the honour of doing that as he just sat there, a big, goofy grin playing on his face. GREAT HIPPOGRIFFS! HE WAS AN ASTRONAUT!
But at the words 'Lift Off', he just had to join in. "LIFT OFF!" Oops! Had that been too much shouting? Sorry for disturbing you, fellow badgers!
Anywaaaay...
They were airbourne! WOOHOO! "We did it, Henny!'' How about a high five? Of course they still had quite some more distance to cover but soon they could have their mini tea party, right? With no gravity, this should be extra fun. Hehe.
Wow Adi, that was a loud "LIFT-OFF" shout! Nice! Henric returned Adi's high-five with a big grin on his face."Yeah we did it!"he chuckled. Now that they had 'left' Earth and travelling towards their destination, Henric would need to pretend his movements were slowed as if his body was made of air.
"Alright Astronaut Adi, we are going to land/dock our spacecraft into NASA space station, why don't you take control from here while I take pictures of Earth with my phone." Muggle kids these days were doing a lot with this things, huh? But of course he didn't bring a muggle phone with him,narrh...he 'clicked' away using a bar of soap he found from the kitchens earlier. It was still slippery when he first held it on his hand but...oh well! Sorry...houseelves...he was just going to borrow it for awhile. Heheh. But seriously...this what what he used back then too because his mum wouldn't let him touch her muggle telecommunication device. She was afraid he would break it. Pfft. Never...he treated every single precious gameboys and game consoles he had at home like his babies m'kaaay...
He glanced back at their supplies again and spoke through his earpiece again,"Check check one-two...testing. One.Two.Three."Henric...that was for stage mic testing...LOL. *ehem* "Calling for Astronaut Adi...do you copy? Are you hungry? Let's have a break, over." Tea in Space!! Who would have thought of that!
Slowly but surely, Henric set up the corner where they could have a tea party in the spacecraft. "Captain Adi, what would you like to have in your tea? Sugar cubes or milk?"Henric asked in his proper 'British English' accent. Oh merlin....he sounded so posh. He poured tea into both of their teacups like a gentleman would. >.<

OOH! PICTURES! "Excellent idea, Astronaut Nicolei!'' Did phones even work in space ships, Adi wondered? But who careeeed? This was the time for their imagination to run free and wild! He pretended to take control of thing by checking that the 'dials' and 'buttons' were all in position, lit up in their colours and what not. Looking over at Henric, Adi nearly laughed out at what he was using for a phone. Very creative there, Henny, using a bar of soap.
Adi adjusted some more invisible buttons and dials just as that voice came through his helmet. He pressed down on his space helmet as if listening. "This is Astronaut Rehman copying Astronaut Henny's big mouth loud and clear!'' Ehehe. "I'm always hungry! No need to ask if you are. YES! Tea and biscuits before we hit zero gravity. Over!'' Because then they would be floating alllll over their space ship.
The older Hufflepuff turned his attention to Henric and nearly laughed out loud again. You must stay in character, Adi! You must! But the elegant accent got a snort out of him because he couldn't hold that back. "Very nice spread you've put out here, Astronaut Henny. Oh, I'd like three lumps of sugar and a generous amount of milk or cream, please.'' He now pretended to grab a plate. "One plateful of biscuits for you,'' Adi happily said as he pretended to stack the plate with biscuits from a tin and then set it before his pal. "Eat up!''
"I don't have a big mouth,do I?"Henric asked his co-astronaut as he flexed his jaw before grinning widely. Nevermind that! They were having a tea-party in space! Wouldn't it be brilliant if they could drink water bubbles in zero gravity like real astronauts do?!
Henric put three cubes of sugar, poured the milk and cream into Adi's teacup."I hope its not too sweet for you, but you don't mind, right?" he asked. Adi had a sweet tooth like him, of course he wouldn't unless he was wrong about his friend not loving sweets.
He grabbed a piece,"Don't mind me taking these, thank you, why...this is delightful!"he complimented as he pretend to munch on the 'biscuit' Adi had offered to him. He caught something off the corner of his eyes and laughed."Did you forget to put Gus in his tank again? Coz' we have an animal visitor in our spaceship." He pointed over to Gus with his thumb.

Pffft. Henric totally had a big mouth. Or at least a HUGE voice box. Did you guys get a loud of it just now? Hehe. As for the comment about the sugar... "Sugar is my middle name.'' Lies. Adi didn't have a middle name and even if he did, it wouldn't have been 'sugar'.
"Nope, don't mind you taking them. Sorry, it doesn't seem as if we packed kebabs or pumpkin pasties. But I'm glad you find the biscuits delightful.'' Grinning, the elder Puffer took a sip of his 'tea' but then quickly lowered his cup. Whut? His beloved Guster was out of his tank?
"By crickey! I think I did forget to do that! We have a stowaway, Astronaut Henny!'' Stowaway Gus croaked and hopped his way over to the Puffer duo and Adi scooped him up, raising him to his face. "HI!'' Could you tell the man- child loved his toad? He did. Mhmm. "Came along for the space trip? We don't mind. Right, Henny?'' He placed the toad next to his friend then picked up his 'cup' again. But...
"Uh oh. We've hit zero gravity! Look at my tea floating all out of the cup!'' And Gus was rising up in the air!
Henric chuckled,"Well Astronaut Aditya 'Sugar' Rehman, hope you enjoy your tea!" He playfully frowned at Adi when he mentioned there weren't any of his favourite food in the menu,"Aww man I was hoping we could have some onboard but all we've got is this food rations left in this tube." He grinned, pulling out his toothpaste with a post-it note on it which said "Yummy Space-food". Didn't they know that astronauts ate these back in the day? Heheh.
Aww...would you look at that! Adi and his pet toad! The scene brought him back to when Princess was still alive. *sniff**shedding manly tears now* He shook his head and gave his co-astronaut a beaming smile."A stowaway! Blimey! Nope, we are glad to have him onboard!"he smiled, petting the little critter.
"UH-OH! Hold onto your teacups everyone, we are now FLOATING! WEEEeeee~~~" Henric raised both his arms and did a wave-like move slowly as if he was underwater.

Soooo, no studying with Benny tonight for reasons they'd both agreed on so Adi found himself flopping down on a comfy armchair all set to do his Transfiguration homework. For the practical part of this, he would be using the bird conjuring spell, Avis. It was one he was good at. Right now, he was sitting cross legged, his wand poised to begin.
“Avis!’’ Adi pulled up his full focus and concentration. The pronunciation of the incantation in his head was clear and so was the ‘m’ like shape wand movement. So what exactly had caused the brief flash of bright red light and not birds appearing? His posture. Yep, he was all… out of form LOL. His back was bent so that he was hunched over, his neck was also the same so that his head wasn’t held high as per normal. However, at the flash, he had quickly straightened up. Like… WOAH! He hadn’t expected THAT. Thankfully he hadn’t burnt down the common room or anything. Heh. “Having the wrong posture sucks,’’ he noted to himself as he readied himself again.
This time Adi sat with proper posture. What was off this time? The wand movement. Everything was spot on except that. “Avis!’’ He did a wiggly, sloppy ‘m’ like movement and BANG! There was a flash of green light and a sound like a firecracker. This startled him which nearly made the guy leap out of the chair. Oh, looky! He had conjured something. With his heart thudding against his rib cage, he watched as a single yellow canary feather float slowly down onto his lap.
Okay, moving on! Now the Hufflepuff experimented with the pronunciation, keeping the other three factors constant. “Awiss!’’ HAHA! That sounded funny. A- wiss. Ah-wiss. A swiss. LOL. Anyway, nothing happened this time around. Whew!
Now for the last bit of experimenting which would entail no focus. “Avis!’’ The appropriate wand movement was done with the proper incantation. Oh and yes. His posture was good as well but his mind was just focused on something else- a pile of hopping chocolate frogs. There was a tiny ‘poofing’ sound from his wand and a billow of smoke engulfed him. Coughing and sputtering epically, the Hufflepuff swatted his hand to clear the substance.
When the smoke had cleared, Adi tried combining the two of the four such as proper wand movement and incantation before switching it up but of course there were no positive results. “Obviously it pays to combine those four stuff properly,’’ he muttered. Yeah, he was going to do just that.
“Avis!’’ Proper posture, incantation, wand movement and focus altogether now! The results? Half a dozen canaries were flitting above his head. Hehe. Well done, Adi.

The Transfiguration homework seemed rather simple, so Paulina had a feeling that it wouldn't take her too long to complete it. Good thing because it was due the next day.
Oops.
She felt that she couldn't really be blamed for procrastination because NEWT studying had been steadily taking over more and more of her life. Honestly she would be happy when it came time for graduation even though she had really started to like the castle and didn't want to leave all the friends she had made here.
Plopping herself down in one of the chairs by the fireplace, Paulina took out her wand. She had the Transfiguration spell she was going to try out picked out so she was ready to start. A cup was placed on the nearby table and she stared at it intently for a moment. Making a sideways figure eight with her wand, she called out "Avifors!" A bird appeared where the cup had been a moment before. "Awesome."
Figuring that it was best not to let it wreck havoc on the common room, she quickly reverted the spell. Time to try again but this time do everything wrong!
Paulina hunched forward in her seat as she drew another sideways figure eight with her wand. "Avifors!" Surprise surprise: nothing happened. Well, there had been a flash of electric blue light, but that was it. Basically being slouched wasn't a good thing. Time to see if saying the incantation wrong would work out better even though she already knew that it obviously wouldn't because experience and common sense.
Straightening up in her seat once more, Paulina drew another figure eight with her wand. "Aviverafors!" Another flash of electric blue light headed towards the cup before vanishing with a POOF but that was it. Paulina was used to that kind of thing because it had happened to her a fair bit when she was younger. That was part of why she took practicing new spells very seriously now. And the same went for spells that she hadn't used for a while because it was very easy to forget - especially for her.
To change things up, this time she was going to use the wrong wand movement. Pointing her wand at the cup, she drew a square shape. "Avifors!" Not even a flash of light greeted her this time. She supposed that was a good thing because electric blue hurt her eyes a fair bit. Hopefully she wouldn't be greeted with more of that the next time around.
"Okay, last time," she said as she pointed her wand at the cup. Instead of thinking about how she wanted to change it into a bird, Paulina thought about what she was going to have for dinner since she was starting to feel a little hungry. Thinking of a nice healthy salad, she drew a sideways figure eight. "Avifors!" Once more there wasn't even a flash of light, though there was a bit of smoke.
Clearly it paid off to combine all four elements - as she had done the first time around.
