Before entering the classroom you'll see a sign next to the door in noticeable letters that reads:
Rules Before Entering Charms Classroom:
- Located inside next to the door is a yellow wall. Write something you appreciate about the school, your day, someone, ect. No names or inappropriateness, please. After posting on the Positive Wall take a sticker located at the heart of the wall, and wear it on your forehead for the duration of the class.
- Trade your house tie with someone else of a different house.
After that is done, the first thing you'll notice once fully walking inside is the cool and fresh breeze. The windows are open, letting in the cooling summer air and the soft morning glow. With a gleam in her hazel eyes, Professor Astrid Baxter stands at the front of the room leaning against her desk waiting for students to arrive.
Behind her there's yet another message, this one written on the blackboard:
Welcome, students! Take a seat next to a person you have not met and please properly fill out a nametag.

Adi grinned happily at Baxter. Yup, you're welcome, Professor. Wand movements were super important too. Okaaay, so two charms? Cool! Usually they only worked with one per class but two was better.
Ohh! the Banishing Charm! Awesome! He watched transfixed as the writing on the board started to happen while he listened to the Charms woman. He wanted to learn to do that too! Make things write by themselves, he meant. But yeah, the Banishing Charm. Adi made his notes while repeating the incantation with the rest of the class.
Alrightey! So non verbal spells weren't that difficult for the Hufflepuff. Not anymore at least and he was EAGER to get practicing. Plus, he really wanted the activity to get started. Did anyone else realise how difficult it was to stay seated? Once all the note making was done, he began practicing the Banishing Charm's incantation silently. ''Depulso, Depulso, Depulso, Depulso.'' Now for the wand movement: sweeping motion of the wand just as Baxter had demonstrated.
RIGHT!
He was all set! Adi jumped up from his seat, pushed it in and stood (bouncing slightly) as he waited for the next set of instructions.

..... SIXTH AND SEVENTH YEARS WERE DOING WHAT NOW????
Zander's eyes may have widened just a bit. NONVERBALLY? As in like, no talking??? As in not saying anything verbally??? As in WHAT THE HECK??? He attempted to shoot a look over to Sophie Brown, which was quite hard seeing as they weren't able to sit next to each other. Hmph. How did Professor Baxter just expect them to do nonverbals???
Zander Adair had never even attempted a nonverbal spell ever in his life. What made anyone think he could do it right now in the middle of a lesson with everyone sitting around him to distract??? No he couldn't possibly. There was no way he'd get it. And that's what made him sink a little lower into his chair. A nonverbal? For real? 'Depulso' he thought. 'Depulso' and again 'Depulso'. The wand movement was easy enough. But this whole thinking the spell instead of saying it...
'Depulso,' what if it didn't work? He kept repeating the incantation over and over in his mind. He didn't even know the technicalities that went into casting a nonverbal. What was the method? How was he even supposed to go about it? So Zander didn't stand up after practicing. Because he didn't feel confident yet. 'Depulso, depulso, depulso'.

Norah felt her cheeks going red despite all the times she'd told them not to. Excuse you, cheeks. She was the brain and the brain meant the boss, everybody knew that. She was a prefect brain too, but she didn't feel much like one of those especially now that the nice new professor thought she hadn't been paying attention. With a small smile just so Professor Baxter didn't feel bad on her very first day, she nodded quickly and put her quill to the parchment with a highly unnecessary flourish just to show that she really was listening. Arresto Momentum. Cool beans. She didn't feel very worthy of Zeke's Gryffindor tie anymore but at least there was still a happy sticker on her forehead. A sticker can make aaaaaall the difference if you let it.
With her notes written much neater than usual, which was horridly time consuming and NEVER to be attempted again, the fifth year picked up her wand and practiced a few big sweeping wave-y things just like Professor Baxter had shown them. "Depulso. Deeeepulso. De-puhl-so. Depulsoooooo." She was running out of ways to say the incantation without just getting much louder ('cause that was against the RULES), so she got up and pushed in her chair even though she wasn't entirely sure if she was confident yet. Probably not. Confidence was reserved for tree climbing and cartwheels, not school things, but there she stood, chanting 'Depulso' under her breath a million bazillion times. It still counted as being a good leader if she was just pretending, right?
Huh? Banishing Charms? To send away an object. So this spell was like the counter-charm to the Summoning Charm? But she had a question for the Professor. "Professor, how about people or other living creatures? Does this charms works on them? Or just inanimate objects only?"
While waiting for the Professor to answer her question, Candice started practice to pronounce the Banishing Spell incantation. "Depulso.....de-PUHL-so...de-PUHL-so...de-PUHL-so...." She repeated the incantation over and over again in her head. The wand movement was kinda easy she just need to sweep her wand. Okay she's ready. The Gryffindor stood up from her chair and pushed it in.

The Banishing Charm, eh? Cool enough of a spell, and Baxter's first class wasn't terrible so far. She seemed to teach well and interact with the kids, even the ones who offered up weird answers, and Soph thought the woman was a lot more patient with them than Piers or Quiggles ever were. Both of those men had a lot of 'tude, sass, and sarcasm, but Baxter here was sweet and humored them.
It was a weird change, honestly.
"De-puhl-so," Soph repeated with the rest of the class, taking some brief notes on both spells at hand before instructions were given. And-- wait-- they were being told not to TALK? NON-VERBAL SPELLS?
Finally a professor who encouraged them to test their abilities right off the bat. Expand their horizons. They'd never be able to do non-verbal spells if they weren't actively and regularly encouraged to do so, and Soph welcomed the challenge. She'd done her very first non-verbal spell successfully last term, so she was feeling not entirely discouraged by the task, but she still wasn't sure that she'd be able to do it right away, and that frustrated her already.
A sweep of the wand was easy enough, and Soph did it a few times just to ensure it, then she thought through the incantation in her head. Depulso. De-puhl-so. De-PUHL-so. It'd probably be fine, and just as she went to stand up and push her chair in, she caught sight of Zander, who looked like a deer in headlights.
...Oh. This... oh. He'd definitely never attempted a non-verbal spell, had he? Merlin. Could she go over and stand by him? Baxter hadn't SAID to stay sitting by the person they didn't know... but she also hadn't said they could move about the classroom. Guh. She just wanted to go over there and feed him some encouragement, okay?
catching up. :/ Long day yesterday and needed to be lazy today to make up for it.

Apparently the unsaid memo not to approach her hadn’t been understood, and just as apparently to Brooklyn, someone out there had decided they wanted her to trade with a Claw. Although, not really personally, but she couldn’t have said she exactly didn’t know Kate. The first year was another story, but either way, it was a dilemma. A dilemma that she wasn’t going to be the one to solve it. Instead, she silently slipped her green tie from around her neck and held it out for either of the two Claws to take. If she’d had her way, honestly, they could’ve traded with each other but that wasn’t the point of Professor Baxter’s instructions. Unfortunately. And she didn’t know when she’d become so attractive to random people either, but she’d deal with it. In a blue tie, it seemed.
The paragraph that they’d been instructed to write was another story. That meant actual work, not really charms, and she stalled as long as she could. Until they’d been told that they’d be turning the paragraphs in at the end of class, really, as she’d started writing down notes on the actual spells they were discussing today instead of her paragraph. She’d write it, but not until there was obviously not way out of it. Or, not until she had nothing better to do, as there were the spells to practice. Even though they were easy.
Honestly, there were plenty of things she’d like to banish from her sight. A few people too, but something told her they weren’t going to be practicing on people today. Safety and all that. Sigh. A blue tie and who knew what else. “Depulso,” she said softly, pretending she was casting it on pretty much anything and everything that she’d like to get away from her. No wand yet, just so nobody could accuse her of being mean. Her wand came out after a moment, though, and was silently swept in the appropriate movement, nearly as if she was thinking about cleaning off her desk of her notes. If the scribbles could be called notes. They were what had been written on the board, anyway. “Depulso,” she said again, before picking up her quill and writing out that paragraph from earlier.

Charms are spells used to create an effect on objects or people even. They can change the color of things, make them move or stop them from moving. They can change the size of things, either making them smaller or larger. The most important part of Charms is that they aren’t normally meant to defend or cause harm, although depending on how they’re used they could. Some are meant to shield, and can be used in defense situations. Charms are not the same as Transfiguration though. A charm can’t change an object into something else entirely, but there are several that work alongside Transfiguration or even are important in Potions.
She wasn’t planning on writing any more. It was too much like actually being expected to do homework for her, and she pushed the parchment aside. Along with her desk and chair, standing and waiting for the practice to start.

Sixth and seventh years were going to practise the spell non-verbally? That was ….SO AWESOME! He had ALWAYS wanted to try out spells non-verbally and now he was old enough cause he was sixteen yeees!
Yoongi sat upright, excitement sparked in his eyes as he listened to the instructions. So the first to third years would practise one spell while the rest practised the other? He wondered what the activity for today’s class would be. Although he did have the feeling it was going to be something with shoving the first years around….if that was true…he was glad he was a sixth year. "Depulso" he repeated.
Yoongi decided not to practise the wand movement though. He knew the spell , actually he had learned it in his third year…geez Hogwarts was slow with these things.. and as for thinking the incantation in his mind, well, she wouldn’t know if he was thinking or not right? So, once she told them to stand up if they were confident enough, the Gryffindor pushed his chair back and stood behind his desk, waiting.

Arresto Momentum Charm and the Banishing Charm. Okay. They were going to practice on those charms today. Owen was all ears as he copied down what was written on the board, as well as some important other things that the Professor mentioned.
Then they were being given instructions. First to third years will practice the Arresto Momentum charm. Wand movement was a wave. Owen pulled out his wand, placed it on his desk for the meantime as he practiced the incantation, "Arresto Momentum. ah-REST-oh mo-MENT-um....Arresto Momentum." Just like that...the Hufflepuff made sure he was enunciating clearly and all before picking up his wand and doing some wave wave wave without the incantation first. And back to the incantation again.
Feeling confident now, he stood up and pushed in his chair.

Did everybody hear that? AJ Valentine was no longer grouped with the little kids. Although, she didn't come out and state that little fact about AJ directly, but it was pretty much implied. Mmmhmm. For once it was okay that she wasn't grouped with the older kids either because mastering a spell without verbally saying it... PFFT. That sounded mad hard. As much as AJ liked a challenge, she just wasn't feeling the extra work today. Nope. You had one extra proud fifth year here today. A good day to be in the middle of the grade levels.
No need for notes. All she needed to do was practice, and practice she would.
De-puhl-so was how it was pronounced and it seemed easy enough. Thank Merlin for no tongue twisters. "De-pul-so, de-PUL-so," She repeated over and over until she felt comfortable. Now the wand movement was ever easier. She moved her wand about in a sweeping motion for good measure. Did she really need to practice that part? No, but it was doing wonders for her recently abused writing hand.

Brilliant? Yeah, he supposed that his answer was brilliant, just like him. Ahem.
Taking down the notes from the board as they appeared, Zeke listened through their class discussion and to what Professor Baxter elaborated on. Interesting, a task with Arresto Momentum AND the Banishing Charm. He just hoped it would be fun and not lame.
The most unfortunate thing about this lesson, was perhaps the fact that he already knew how to cast the Banishing Charm, so he didn't have much in the way of practice to do for that one. Nevertheless, Zeke swept his wand, before then reciting the incantation separately. "Depulso."
Easy.
"Arresto Momentum," was simple enough, right? It wasn't any more difficult where pronunciation was concerned, and nor was the wand movement any more challenging. He was set.
Wand in hand, and feeling ready, he rose from his seat and tucked his chair under.

This was going to be fun. Janelle was looking forward to learning the Arresto Momentum Charm. She was a little disappointed that she wouldn't be learning the Banishing Charm too, but oh well. Anxious to get started, she copied down the information about both spells.
Janelle decided to start with the incantation. She repeated it several times, trying to say each word correctly. "A-res-to Mo-men-tum, A-res-to Mo-men-tum, A-res-to Mo-men-tum, Arresto Momentum." The incantation wasn't too hard to pronounce, compared to some of the others that Janelle had learned. She felt pretty comfortable with her performance so she decided to move on to the wand movement.
Janelle gave her wand a wave and then did it again and again. They had been instructed not to cast the charm yet so she couldn't put the two parts together. Janelle tried the incantation several more times and followed up with the wand movement again. She felt ready to try the spell for real so she stood up and pushed her chair into her desk. Now all she had to do was wait for the professor's next instructions.

Though both spells are basic, those two were proven to be useful. Ethan picked up his quill again and scribbled down more notes on his notebook, even if he already has notes about them from previous terms. Getting that task done, the Slytherin closed his notebook in a hurried fashion, and tossed all of his writing implements into his bag.
Non-verbal Banishing Charm for them, eh? Shouldn’t be too hard. He had extra practice during summer, taking advantage of the fact that he can do magic outside school seeing that he’s already legal to do so.
“Depulso.” Ethan murmured as he practised the wand movement without his wand first. With his current mood, he might accidentally banish someone out of the classroom if he had his wand in his hand. That wouldn’t be a good first impression with the new Charms professor, eh? Yep. He thought so.
Alternating the wand movement and incantation in his head, he stood up from his seat and was tempted to use the banishing charm right then and there. Keeping his mouth shut, he pushed back his table and chair, and stood at the very back of the classroom and waited for practice to commence.

It was the beginning of the term, the lessons were only going to grow more challenging.
"The next charm we'll be looking at is the Banishing Charm." Her gaze roamed around the room as the spell was written by an invisible entity behind her. "I'm sure you're all tired of sitting down so I will go over it and then we can jump into the next step." Eyes to you quiet ones. "The Banishing Charm does exactly what the name says; it banishes things, sends them away." Clear? Clear. "While Arresto Momentum is the incantation for its spell, the Banishing Charm has its own. Depulso." She paused as it was written on the board. "Everyone repeat after me, de-puhl-so."
Astrid waited for them to do so, and after they did she continued. "It's wand movement is a simple sweep of your wand." She demonstrated, casting the charm silently and sweeping her wand at the quill on her desk, sending it away to her office.
"Listen clearly now, we don't have much class time, so we will take a moment to practice." And then fun! "First through third years will practice Arresto Momentum. Fourth and fifth years will practice the Banishing Charm, sixth and seventh years will as well, but non-verbally." Not a peep from them. "You will only be practicing, not casting, yet. Once you feel confident, please stand up, push in your chair and wait for further instructions." And GO.
Marsha was leaning forward in her chair, her eyes glued to the Professor. How cool was this? Not only were they getting to learn about arresto momentum (notes had been scrawled by the way - thank you classmates!), they were getting to learn about banishing objects too! How awesome was that! Though, she kind of missed her Charms!exercise, she guessed she would just need to go for a run tonight before dinner… or maybe after it depending how much homework she ended up with.
”Deh-pul-sow.” She repeated, though she frowned. That hadn’t sounded right - no where near it infact. She furrowed her eyebrows as she repeated the incantation under her breath a few times, on the sixth time it sounded much much better though, more de-puuhl-so but she figured that was okay. However, Professor Baxter had just told them they they were going to practise so she grinned - totally ready for whatever exercise they were going to be doing.
…. What? Aw man. She was practising arresto momentum. SIGH. Fine, she still thought that Depulso was cooler - I mean, you could BANISH THINGS with it.
Grinning though, she took to practising the charm. ”Ar-rest-o Mo-men-tum.” She said, wondering what the hard part was about saying that… She repeated it a few more times just to be sure and then solely waved her wand. Yeah, that seemed good too.
SO with that, the lioness stood up from her chair, pushed it in and stood behind it as she had been told to. Yup, see. She could follow instructions. Beamy smile for the Professor - just because.

So Aresto momentum apparently could save someone who fell from height. Well maybe next time she could practice this spell once she forced Teddy to learn how to climb a tree, and he wouldn't need to be worry if he could fall sometime because she's gonna use this charm. Nod nod.
Practice time already? This was great, Ava really approved the Professors who didn't give too much theory thingy and let them to practice the lessons more. She couldn't stand too much theory blablablablablaaaa like that and now she's ready to practice on the charms! And the first year students like her would practice the Aresto Momentum one. This seemed not that hard, she just needed to wave her wand. Waaaaaaaaaaave...... And once again. Waaaaaaaaaaaave. It was a good wave, wasn't it? Feeling confident enough with the wand movement, the Gryffindor firstie then moving on to practice the incantation.
"Aresto momentum...." She muttered the incantation but it didn't sound right. Okay, once again. "Ah-rest-o Mo-ment-um." Still sounded wrong. "ah-RES-TOh -mo-men-TUM!" Or maybe.... "Ar-rest-o Mo-men-tum!" Yep, the last one sounded right. And now... COULDWETRYTOTHEFALLINGTHINGSPLEAAAAAAASE?

Finishing up with her note taking the fourth year placed both her parchment and quill back into her bag. She wouldn't be needed those right now.
Listening quietly for her year to be said and which charm she'd be practicing she flicked her wrist lightly so her wand was moved from it's holster on her arm to in her hand. Depulso. The banishing charm. It had a pretty simple incantation and a just as simple wand movement. Not much work would be required on this one other then clear intent and focus. However she gave the incantation a go first repeating it several times to herself, "Depulso...Depulso...Depulso..." Once she knew she had that down she gave her wand a nice light sweep through the air in front of her a few times.
Yeah that was it. Not really all that much to practice. Feeling more then confident with this the snakette rose to her feet, pushed her chair in and quietly stood behind her desk then they'd been told.
She was ready.

NONVERBAL?! FINALLY!
Caleb was so excited! This lesson just got WAY MORE INTERESTING. It made all that nonsense with the stickers on the head and the house tie and stuff all worth it. Caleb had tried to do some nonverbal stuff in the past, just practicing on his own during homework, and had been pretty good with it so far. He didn't like to show it off, though, especially in class, since verbal was still easier, but now HE COULD SHINE with his nonverbal skills!
Hopefully.
But first, practice. Smiling, he repeated the incantation, Depulso, over and over in his head, and then practiced the wand movement. Separately, though, he didn't want to accidentally cast it nonverbally...this should be easy. He could do this spell in his sleep verbally, this should be a piece of cake!

Banishing Charm?! YES!!! Rory always wanted to learn this spell. It could be so useful: something you don't like, with a sweep of the wand it's gone or to be more accurate pushed away. A sweep of the wand... simple enough. The Ravenclaw cleared his mind and mimicked the wand movement Professor Baxter demonstrated on the quill. Yep. He got it.
Before practicing the incantation, he scribbled into his notebook all that was learned in class, including copying what was written on the Blackboard. Theory is as important as practical. Okay... now to the incantation. "De-puhl-so," he mumbled drawlingly to himself, and repeated the incantation once again. "Depulso," he said to himself again. He felt confident, eager to cast the spell. The lanky boy rose from the chair, pushed it under the table. He held his wand in his bony hand, ready for new instructions from the Professor.
Holding the end of his pen between forefinger and thumb, Daxton watched as he made it bob up and down. He was still listening to everyone else, and to Baxter, but for all the world looked as though he had tuned out completely.
The more time went on the more bored Daxton got. He wanted to see some magic. All this seemed like textbook stuff. How long until they-
Not long at all, apparently, because suddenly there was action. Daxton looked up at the teacher as she started talking about the specific spells, feeling that this was surely a segue into actually practicing them. His blue eyes flicked from professor to blackboard and back again, committing everything to memory as he set his pen down and took his wand out from up his sleeve.
As a first year, he would be focusing on 'Arresto Momentum', except... well it wasn't exactly going to happen, was it? Daxton was all set to practice simply waving his wand and being done with it, when the instruction directed at the sixth and seventh years caught his attention. Non-verbally, that was how they would be learning their spell. So he would not be the only silent one in the class, and if they were learning their spells non-verbally, then Daxton saw no reason why he could not practice the same thing. In fact, that seemed the most logical approach. Better than sitting doing nothing.
After a curious glance at the older students in the room, Daxton focused on the pine wand he held in his own left hand. He had read, since purchasing it, that it was receptive to non-verbal magic, which was fitting. He waved it through the air and thought the incantation - though was it much of an incantation if it was not being spoken? - 'Arresto Momentum.'
And... that was it, really. Daxton hardly felt confident that he could cast the spell just like that, so he did not stand up. Luckily, being sat at the back of the room, very few people were sure to notice and stare at him. He practiced the spell in his head again - a wave of his wand, 'Arresto Momentum' - before watching the others once again.
It was at that moment, observing a couple of particular older students, that Daxton had a thought. A question, really, but seeing as though he was not about to say it out loud, he added it to his parchment that was apparently due to be handed in at the end of the lesson, the one with the paragraph already written out on it. He did not much care if he got an answer from the professor, as there was nothing stopping him from researching himself. However, writing it down would ensure he remembered the details.
When that was done, Daxton sat back in his chair again and waited. It did not register that whatever activity they would be doing might require them to stand. In his mind, the idea was only to stand to show they were confident, much like a show of hands. Baxter had not said to stand even if they were not confident, and Daxton had a tendency to take instructions quite literally.

Charms
Charms
I know a lot about charms already, more I think than I could fit into a paragraph, and I do not want to write that much. Charms are useful spells; life would be exponentially easier with the knowledge and practical skills of the charms just in the first year textbook. Charms makes more sense than Transfiguration, where the rules of physics are ignored and things can be created from nothing. I want to learn all the charms. What is the point of learning them if I do not learn them all.
Questions
Does the 'pronunciation' of the incantation matter when casting a non-verbal spell? Is the incantation thought of in terms of how it sounds, or is the intent behind the words enough? Accents and language surely impede process when casting verbally - is it the same when non-verbal? Does it work if the word(s) of the incantation are simply visualised? - research further

They were actually gonna practise the spell now? He was gonna get to do magic again! Sure it wasn't the kind he actually wanted to learn but magic was magic and Blaise had decided he liked being about this magic business. Hopefully it wouldn't be anything like Astronomy class where his wand listened to him only half the time.
The 11 year old listened carefully to the instructions. On another day he might have wondered why the older students got to practice a different charm but right now he couldn't be bothered. All that mattered was he could leave this lesson knowing to cast something he otherwise would not have.
And the wand movement was...just waving his wand...that was it? Not bad at all! Waaaay easier than that fire charm Kyroh told him about with all the curves and stuff to mimic a flame.
Even after saying the incantation that many times and waving his wand around, he wasn't sure just how ready he was but the boy stood nonetheless and shoved his chair neatly under his desk. There. Ready. Sorta.

Oh, practice time? That meant it was going to be activity time soon enough and the Slytherin couldn't help but imagine what kind of interesting activities were going to take place. If they had to be slowing things down, it was BOUND to be fast paced and Phillip LOVED the sound of that. Loved it!
......... Uh. Practice. Right.
"Arrestooooooooo Momentuuuuuuuum!" he called in his best deep voice booming voice, "Arresssssstoooooo! Arresto Arresto Arrestoooooo! Momentuuuuuuum! Moooomeeeeeentuuuuuuuum!" This practising part was easy peasy lemon squeezy.
The wand movement was even easier! Just a wave of the wand! Can you believe that? Phillip took out his wand and practised waving it this way and that, mainly in the way he'd seen the witches and wizards in his life perform them. That overly dramatic wave of the wand. It was BOUND to go right, yeah?
NONVERBAL SAY WHAT NOW?! Iselin's eyes went wide as she stared at the woman. sure she had attempted to do charms and spells non verbally before but that was just the thing... she attempted and failed. "uhm... ok..." she whispered to her partner as she stood repeating the incantation as asked though her accent sort of slaughtered it... oops. "deh-puhls- so..." This was just an all around bad idea..
Right...non verbal casting. raising her wand she practiced the wand movement swiftly and with ease which was saying something seeing as it was hard for her to be very graceful. This non verbal stuff... yeah she didn't see it turning out very well for her... or whoever was in front of her...... maybe she should face a wall???
Angel was looking forwards to this though she wished she could try and do this non verbally because she had a feeling that would be cool but she knew it was important to follow instructions so that is what she was going to do, she would practice the spell verbally.
"De...pu....l....so!" Angel wanted to make sure she could say it correctly. "De... Pul....so...." Angel was sure that was correct so now it was a case of putting it together. "Depulso!" Angel smiled as she realise that she had it down, how cool was this.
Angel then took her wand out and she started to practice the wand movement giving it a sweep here and then moving it back she was totally enjoying this and she couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next.

Rooney was a little bit gutted that he was in the age group that were limited to practicing Aresto Momentum, but he would eventually get over it and maybe practice the other spell at another time. Outside of this class and these age groups. Maybe he'd ask Marsha to join him, because she looked deflated about this also. And she was wearing a Ravenclaw tie today, so that meant she was allowed to practice with him and it wouldn't matter about their houses. If no one took notice of the Gryffindor tie that he had brazened on his chest. Rawr rawr Gryffindor? Nope.. He actually preferred to caw. CAW CAW RAVENCLAW.
Where was that little Gryffindor that cawed like a professional?
Here went nothing. There were no wands right now, which meant that he was able to mess up. Not that he was going to. Taking a deep breath, the second year repeated the incantation in his head before starting aloud. "Aresto Momentum," just standing still with a wave of his hand pretending that he had his wand in it. "Aresto Momentum," alongside a wiggle of his bottom this time. "Arestoooo Momeentummm," and now a little leap. If he was successful in the incantation in different physical positions then he was good to go.
Right?
After a few more tries, he smiled and stood behind his chair.

So that was a no to switching ties? Alright then. Olly just shrugged and put his own tie back around his neck. It was probably crooked now, considering he didn't have a mirror to help, and he hadn't become all that great with tying his own tie. But to be honest, he didn't really care how it looked.
Now came the boring part of the lesson. Writing paragraphs? Uh, yeah he would not be doing that. He didn't answer the question either. The fact that he didn't know the answer was unimportant, because even if he had everyone had given the answer first. So if he wanted he could just pretend he did know the answer. FINALLY it was time for the part of the lesson he was looking forward to. It was time for them to actually perform the spell. Olly had his wand out in a matter of seconds. He was so ready.
Arresto Momentum. It sounded like something was getting arrested. Haha. Wait no, focus on the actual spell. Right. Arresto Momentum. "Arresto Momentum." He said aloud. That wasn't very hard. Could they do some actual magic now, puh-lease?
So it was Banishing Charm for him then. Since he was a fourth year. Well it would be awesome to do both. Just not the non verbal part since he heard that is super hard and stuff. But practicing both would be awesome. Too bad like Professor said they were running short on time.
"Deeee...pulllll.....soooo"
Hey he thought he got it
"Depulso"
See he got it. Not to hard pronunciating it. He stood up begrudgingly because he had just gotten comfortable. It had taken hi the whole class to get comfortable and now he was standing up. Sigh. He pushed in his chair.
He was ready.
