Before entering the classroom you'll see a sign next to the door in noticeable letters that reads:
Rules Before Entering Charms Classroom:
- Located inside next to the door is a yellow wall. Write something you appreciate about the school, your day, someone, ect. No names or inappropriateness, please. After posting on the Positive Wall take a sticker located at the heart of the wall, and wear it on your forehead for the duration of the class.
- Trade your house tie with someone else of a different house.
After that is done, the first thing you'll notice once fully walking inside is the cool and fresh breeze. The windows are open, letting in the cooling summer air and the soft morning glow. With a gleam in her hazel eyes, Professor Astrid Baxter stands at the front of the room leaning against her desk waiting for students to arrive.
Behind her there's yet another message, this one written on the blackboard:
Welcome, students! Take a seat next to a person you have not met and please properly fill out a nametag.

Was she on the third floor? Yes. Was she close to the classroom, she had to relax and look around for a sign. But once she saw a few students walk into a hall, Victoria followed and took her bookbag along. One summer away and she had forgotten many things about the school, kind of worrying to be honest.
But before entering the classroom, there was this wall...of appreciation. Blinking at it, she tried to think of something she had to appreciate about Hogwarts, and her classmates. Sighing, she took a small sharpie out, purple color, and wrote this:
Quote:
I appreciate the spaces, the landscape. Inspiring, wide...and my classmates, giving me a welcome hug every time.
Yeah, not so...specific, but she had to say/write it! Once she finished writing, she took a small white smiley sticket with a red ribbon on top, and put it on her forehead, continued walking into the classroom, and well...now she had to trade her blue Ravenclaw tie with someone she didn't know. Ehem. She took her tie off around her neck and waved it for a few seconds, while she took the nametag and her sharpie, again, and began to write her name, house, year and...favourite charm? Okay...
Of course, her reasons for favourite charm were that she could snorkel without all the equipment, and that she loved magic involved with one of her many hobbies, swimming.

Thanks!" he grinned, taking his Hufflepuff tie out as well to be exchanged with hers."Here you go, the tie is in good condition, no creases and all." Yup,only the best for the young manpuff. He put her tie around his neck, thinking there would be nothing wrong with it. But, it seemed the length of her tie was a few inches short with the end only fell right on his upper chest area.
"Huh...it fell short...but that's okay...looks good still,"he smiled, patting the tie down."I'm Henric, what's your name?"he asked the first year.
Here she was! She was here! Down here! Noelle thought she was going to have to wave and jump up and down for him to see her but luckily he looked down so she wouldn't have to.
Noelle giggled and took his nice Hifflepuff tie. "One of my new friends is a Puff!" She exclaimed as she went about putting his tie on. After getting it where it was needed to be, she giggled. It was a few inches longer than it needed to be and was almost at her waist. She looked at his and just as she had thought, his tie was a little short. "its okay! The red still looks good on you!" She said smiling at him. "You can just tell everyone you're wearing the infamous Noelle Grace Summers' tie and they will understand. Because that's me!"
Hehe. Infamous.
"Nice to meet you Henric! Did you see my sticker?" She asked while standing on her tip toes so he can get a better look since he was sooooo much taller than her.

Rory made his way to the Charms classroom. Out of all the classes Charms was probably his favourite. The reason itself was still quite unknown, but also irrelevant. For the first time this year he was actually looking forward for a class. Before entering the classroom, the lanky boy stopped and read the instructions.
He glanced at the yellow wall, and back the instructions. For a pessimistic introvert such as he, this was a challenging task. On the other hand, since it was Charms he was in a better mood than usual, so it was easier to think positive. He thought for a moment and wrote:
Quote:
I appreciate the unpredictable, held within Hogwarts.
It was true, Rory loves learning and Hogwarts, other than the usual classes, holds many secrets to learn from. Although he lacked in learning anything social, such as the second part of the instructions.
He sighed, as his bony fingers placed the sticker on his forehead. His hair covered the sticker, causing it to be barely visible. He felt a bit foolish, because he had a piece of paper stuck on his forehead.
He entered the cooled classroom and loosened his blue tie. He wasn't planning on taking from anyone, but wait until someone will ask to swap with him. He was too shy to ask a complete stranger, for his' or her's tie.
After taking his seat, as far away form the windows, next to a stranger, Rory filled his name-tag, after a short hesitation:

The second part of the instructions didn't appeal to her as much, but, as usual, she would play by the rules. So getting a not very big smiley sticker, she hesitantly put it on her forehead and turned to look for someone from Ravenclaw to trade ties with.
Janelle arrived for Charms class ready for a challenge. What she got wasn't quite the challenge she had expected. Stopping near the door, she read the sign and all of the rules that it contained. Well this was going to be interesting, wasn't it?
Doing as she was instructed, Janelle began to write on the yellow wall. What did she appreciate? That part was easy.
Quote:
I appreciate my Ravenclaw housemates because they are awesome!
Next, Janelle scanned the stickers for one that she really liked. She finally decided on a polka dot star sticker and placed it right in the center of her forehead. She wondered where the professor was going with all of this, but for now she was just going to roll with it.
Now, Janelle looked around for someone to help her with rule number three. Seeing a older Slytherin girl who looked in need of a tie, Janelle approached her. "Hi, I'm Janelle. Would you like to trade ties with me?" Hopefully she would say yes and they would both have accomplished the next step.
SPOILER!!: Zander

First he had to bring food for Culloden, say a bunch of volcano language for Flamsteed, and NOW he had to switch his tie with someone???
But what if he didn’t want to switch his tie? No offense but green wasn’t really his color. No one would believe he was in Ravenclaw. AND he had gone through years of being called a Hufflepuff so there’s no way he’d go back to that thank you very much. Gryffindor was clearly the only tie for him. And also what if someone stole it and didn’t want to give it back? LOOKING AT YOU MAGGIE. The wall thing wasn’t that bad though, so he went and wrote something down really quickly before grabbing one of them tongue-out smilies and sticking it on his forehead. Man. He looked absolutely ridiculous. Good thing everyone else did too.
”Hi Professor,” he smiled, walking towards her desk and finding a seat near the front of the classroom but only because he didn’t feel like finding a seat so he took the first one he saw. ”Is switching our ties super necessary?” He wasn't protesting... Just asking. He needed to know the motives, y'know?
In the meantime, Janelle scoped out a seat next to someone that she did not know. Well she didn't really know him and for this task, she decided to go big. She went and dropped her bag into the seat next to none other than the Head Boy. "Hello", she said confidently. "I hope you don't mind if I sit here. I'm Janelle." Filling out her nametag, Janelle put down her favorite charm. It had become her favorite after last year's Charm's class. She wasn't able to produce her patronus.......yet. but she would do it, or else.

This was more insane that what Professor Airey was making them do with all the Admiral and pips stuff. He would rather do that than have a smiley ace sticker on his forehead the whole lesson. It would only be acceptable if the stickers were scratch and sniff. It not than he would look like a fool.
Quote:
I appreciate that nobody has annoyed me today...yet
It was a fact and besides that he could not think of a thing. So it was all he got. Then he took the least ridiculous sticker and stuck it to his forehead. Sigh. Now he had to trade his tie with someone from another house.
Well why not do things he would rather not do. Seemed like he was on a roll of doing that in the past couple minutes.

Then came the Head Boy asking questions. And why not ask Zander. "Head Boy, you want to Tie Swap?" Dante asked holding out his tie.
Angel walked towards the lesson and when she got there she just stared at the sign, this wasn't good at all... she didn't like the new rules in a few of the Lessons and she had a feeling she might have to read more.
SPOILER!!: note
My sisters are amazing and they are both one of a kind.
Angel put the note to her forehead and then took off her tie, now she wasn't allowed into the room until she could find someone to trade her tie with.. "Anyone want to trade ties with me?" Angel said as she stood outside the room.
No Quiggles. Sophie Brown was SUPER bitter about this - first she lost Piers, then she lost Quiggles, and now... there was a new professor. A woman, even, which was super weird. So the Head Girl was super skeptical and had HIGH expectations as she made her way to class, and stopped to stare in mild confusion at the sign next to the door. The... "Positive Wall" concept was actually kind of nice, and Sophie actually smiled. This was a SUPER easy thing to do, so Soph marched right up to the wall and added HER appreciation.
I appreciate my best friend for being smart, kind, funny, loving, sweet, and charming.
Whether it was about Zander or Tobes, no one would ever know since names weren't allowed, and Soph promptly selected the blue sticker with the little bowtie and stuck it right in the center of her forehead. Boom. WORKIN' IT.
The house tie thing, though? She wanted to be GRYFFINDOR. She would've made a good Gryffindor, she knew, and she knew JUST the Gryffindor to trade with, as long as his wasn't taken yet... AH-HA! ...Except JUST as she went to trade with Zander and claim him, two OTHERS stole him. Ruuuuuuuuuude. At least it looked like he was going to be a Ravenclaw today. He was more Ravenclaw than he thought, because he was very creative and smart in ways outside of typical means of intelligence, and he was unique, too. No one she had ever met was anything like Zander Adair.
But even more than just not getting to wear his tie, she wasn't allowed... to sit with him EITHER? Mega lame. But she didn't know WHO to sit with because she already KNEW so many people. That was the problem with being Head Girl. It was her job to know everyone and to talk to everyone, so like... WHAT TO DO.
Sophie was just going to... sit over here. On her own, with her tie already in her hand and READY TO SWITCH WITH SOMEONE WHO WANTED HER. In the meantime, she filled out her name tag.
Text Cut: Name tag!
Name: Sophie Brown
House: Ravenclaw
Year: Seventh
Favorite Charm: Any charms that help make people feel good.
One in particular came to mind, of course, but if they were going to be read out LOUD or something, she didn't want Zander snickering at her. So she was just going to mind her own business and keep things subtle while trying to catch the eye of a newbie she didn't know--
Oh. And. "Hi, professor. M'Sophie Brown." Head Girl, she probably knew. "If y'need assistance with anything, m'game." In case she needed a helper at some point. Just WANTED HER TO KNOW.
Daxton had actually been quite looking forward to Charms class. Mostly because it was Charms and charms were likely to be the most useful kind of magic there was, aside from spells learned in Defence Against the Dark Arts, maybe. But also, one of the general classroom rules was that loud noises were not permitted. No explanation was needed as to why this appealed to the Ravenclaw.
Except, when he arrived at the classroom and read the sign outside, his mood immediately fell flat. A Positive Wall? What on Earth? Stickers on foreheads? Trading ties?
Why?
Staring at the rules, and then at the wall, Daxton tried to make his mind up as to whether he even wanted to go inside. He did not want to, but... he was curious. Curious about learning magic, and seeing more in action, and watching the various ways everyone else failed. He wanted to learn about spells, to gain knowledge. But those rules... those rules were ridiculous.
So Daxton simply ignored them. Bypassing the 'Positive Wall' and the eyesore stickers, he made his way into the room and claimed a seat as close to the door as he could get. He did not doubt that someone would take it upon themselves to force their company on him soon enough, but he would not seek anyone out. And he did not want to trade ties, because his tie belonged to him. In any case, it all seemed like a ploy to get them to interact with one another, and Daxton was perfectly fine keeping to himself.
He did, at least, fill out a nametag.
Quote:

With that done, Daxton simply sat there, closely watching others in the class, idly flipping the edges of the pages of his notebook with his thumb.

Damien was eyeing the positivity chart hard. He should have expected more weirdly cheerful rules, but he'd been hoping that the beautiful new Charm Professor would maybe have skipped it. It was grinding his gears, this imposed happiness they were all supposed to be feeling, because even though the boy was an optimist, he was also a firm believer in letting your mood stew no matter what it might be.
He sighed and tried to think up what he was appreciative of this term, or in general and only one thing really came to mind, taking up the quill, he wrote;
Quote:
I am especially appreciative that my chauffeur/bodyguard/nanny hasn't gotten sick to death of saving my punk butt.
There, that was done. He put back the quill, grabbed the heart eyed smiley sticker, and stuck it smack dab in the middle of his forehead. There, one rule down, now to the tie swapping. Damien looked around, not sure who or what he was looking for, just sort of glancing around the room until his eyes landed on the Head Girl standing nearby.
He walked right over, Red and Gold tie in hand and offered it up to her. "Trade me?" He said with a little grin. Maybe the ravenclaw would rub off on him and he'd be able to pay attention today.

Marsha had mixed feelings about Charms. She adored it, but she wasn’t sure if that was because she loved the way that Professor Thompson had taught it and had subsequently helped her to learn it both in and out of the classroom… HOWEVER, she was super excited about learning from the new Professor - and she hoped to catch a few words with Professor Baxter at the end of class. Yup, busy beeeee.
Moving up to the large positive yellow wall, she tapped one of the Markers against her lip as she thought about what she loved about Hogwarts.
I love our ability to come together as a team when it is needed. We are one large family crazy cousins and all.
Hehehe. Just like her own family. Bwahha. Gryffindor may not as crazy or big as her own - but when you included everyone and not just them, they were bigger. Maybe that is why she felt so at home? Hmmm… Maybe.
Picking a multi-coloured star sticker, she put it just to the side of her eye, and moved into the classroom. Taking a seat about half-way back, she figured she would be joined by someone she could swap her tie with… and if that was someone from her own house then she would start looking around for someone else to swap with.

Oh right, Olly had forgotten a step. Sitting, that was something he was supposed to be doing. Specifically, sitting by somebody he had not met before. Which meant NOT Ellery which meant Olly was not pleased by this rule. Hmph. He simply chose a random seat to dramatically drape himself into. These rules made him very not happy.
There was a boy in the seat next to Olly. One who had stayed quiet since his arrival, and had therefore escaped Olly's notice. He managed a smile smile for the boy. The point of the rules were to make new friends after all. But he was used to him and Ellery making friends together. Grumble. Grumble. He supposed he could give it a try. Fortunately, this boy was a Ravenclaw. Olly slightly extended his hand, which still held his Slytherin tie.
"Hello, want to trade ties?" Olly tried to say it casually, to be sure the boy knew it was alright to say no. If he hadn't traded yet, he might not want to at all.

The rules for Charms class was different, but AJ was diggin' it. She loved meeting new people and a sticker on her forehead was cool. She would do something like that even if it wasn't asked of her. But, first she needed to write something positive. The first thing that came to her mind was food. Was anybody surprised?

Time for Charms class. He hadn't been to charms in a while because he didn't like the teacher at his old school. She was a raging monster and she would always pick on him and yell at him. He just didn't show up and didn't even care that he failed. His mother was on his butt about it, so he promised her he would try this class out. As he came into the room with his robes on and backpack he saw there was a positivity wall? He scrunched his nose and groaned. He thought that was kind of lame. He sat down at his desk and wrote his name tag out first.

Cinna was kind of sort of running late but not really. She had been down in the kitchens this morning already (well it was more like all night but who was counting). Baking helped her think and keep her mind off of things. Thank goodness for baking. Not having a chance yet to come by the new charms professors office to hand out her termly cinnamon rolls. She figuring that she would bring the new professor some to this lesson. Since she had been up all night baking she maybe as well bring them with her.
Making her way to the classroom, she stopped by the door to read the signs. Okay write on positive wall, sticker from heart wall and trade ties. Got it. She walked on into the classroom and headed toward the professor with the cinnamon rolls. "Hi, these are for you." She smiled and handed her the pan.
Moving on to the positive wall, honestly she couldn't think of anything positive today. Nothing at all. So she quickly read over the wall at what the others wrote to get an idea of course. Hmmm.

Just as Rory finished writing all the information which was needed... a younger girl spoke to him. He jumped a little because, it was rather immediate and surprising. He wasn't expecting already to swap ties, and he wasn't used to people talking to him, after all he had always categorized himself as a loner. But, lately more and more people seem to notice him..."Why?" he thought, probably because of his height. Hmph.
He looked at her with his blue eyes. "How do...-" but before finishing his question he remembered he had just written his name on a piece of paper. Stupid. The Ravenclaw, let out a weak smile to the young Gryffindor and replied, "H-Hi... Marsha." He unraveled his blue tie and let it out to the girl, ready to have a red one. "Sure let's switch... and don't worry I'll return yours as well." Rory enlarged his smile by a bit, but somehow he felt still awkward when talking to another person, no matter younger or older. He was just plain socially awkward. Sigh.

He'd read the rules many many MANY times after the incident with potions just be sure. Also, he just... wanted to make sure he read it correctly. There indeed was a yellow wall inside the classroom that already had sooooo many things written upon it. He took another few moments to read a few...
Y'know, so he wouldn't write something stupid in comparison.

His scribble on the wall was lopsided and awkward, but he beamed up at it anyways, heading on over to grab one of the fun looking stickers. One of the ones with a hat looked pretty cool, choosing it and slapping it on his forehead.
But now the part he was dreading...

Lance fiddled with his tie, looking around the classroom for someone who hadn't switched with someone else already. Why couldn't they switch with their own house? He knew people in his house. Not...
There was a guy. There. Him. Right there. Still had his green and silver tie as far as he could tell and the fact that he needed to switch with someone nooooow outweighed his worry about just which house the boy was from. "H-hi- ahem... hello," this was a fantastic start, "Do you want to switch?"
Once Angel had found someone to swap ties with she went into the classroom, seriously though why was there so many weird rules and who's idea was it. She looked at the next instruction that she had to follow.
"Hello Professor." Angel gave the Professor a friendly smile as she went past, now it was time for the name tag which was going to be cool because she didn't have a favourite charm.

Angel then put the name tag on her and waited for the lesson to start this was going to be funny and she really didn't want to miss anything because with all the crazy rules maybe they were going to learn something epic to do with charms.
Cullen looked at the board as he entered the Charms classroom. It says, Find a seat besides a person whom you have never met, yet. So a random seat then. It would be hard being a friendly guy that he is, he would've met almost everyone by now, but anyhow he just sat wherever and started scribbling

Trying to twirl his wand around the fingers of one hand -- and failing miserably -- was Phillip's way of preparing for this lesson. It probably wasn't the BEST way of preparing but it certainly was A way. A way that didn't clash with his precious time spent figuring out new adventures in the treehouse.
He missed that treehouse already. Treehouses were INTERESTING and DIFFERENT, unlike these classes over here.
But what was different about THIS class was that there was a bright yellow wall. Yep. One where they had to write something they appreciate? Uh. Phillip wrinkled his nose at the notice and then over at the wall. He had nothing against positivity but the word rules was making him feel WEIRD. RULES. New and WEIRD rules. He was sure he didn't have to walk around with a sticker on his forehead and a different colour tie around his neck in his other classes.
As for his appreciation...
Quote:
I appreciate how much there is to EXPLORE in this school. Less chance of boredom.
There. When that was done and he slapped a bright sticker on his forehead, Phillip turned his attention towards the Professor herself. "HelloooOOOOO, Professor," Morning and all that jazz. Smiling at her, the first year started loosening his tie as he made his way towards an empty seat. Plonking himself down and taking off his tie completely, the Slytherin started looking around for a partner to work with. Someone from a different house AND someone who was likely to fall for the innocent, sad first year look. Phillip was a pro at that.

Victoria was sitting down, and a bit distracted looking around for someone to trade her tie with until a girl approached her and suggested the trade. With a nod, and she hoped that was a smile, the movement her lips made, she took the girl's red tie and gave her the blue one. "My name is Victoria, yours?" She at least had to know the name before the lesson started. "And here is your seat..." She said, taking her bookbag off the chair next to her.

Phillip!
There was Phillip. Hi
The seventh year made her way over to the younger boy. She knew him because of Tornados reasons, "[color="green"]Phillip want to trade ties?" she started to loosen she her tie.
Yeah, it was okay that they traded, right? She could totally be a Slytherin for a day. So please Philip, let's trade house ties.

Anyone feel like trading ties? aka speaking to Brooklyn? :P

Simple curiosity had brought Brooklyn to Charms. Not so much about the subject. She knew what to expect from that, but not what to expect from the professor. This was one of those subjects whose professors had unceremoniously left after last term, and she still wasn’t quite certain what she felt about that. Especially Professor Bellaire, even though she hadn’t been Charms. She’d done a few joint lessons though, so it worked. She needed to see if the new professors understood her like the old ones had, or if it would end up being another class she only took because it was required.
The sign posted outside the door had gotten eyed, of course. It was like Professor Morgan and her snap cup. Also known as the class she only went to if she felt like it, but she stepped inside anyhow. She could think of a positive thing about the school.

I appreciate the absence of cobwebs and giant spiders (and invisible ones who bite people and make them sick) at school this year
Once she’d finished writing, she took one of the little green stars and stuck in on her forehead. It was green and decidedly NOT a smiley face, so she could deal with it. More than she felt like dealing with the second half of the instructions, even though there had been that lesson last term where they’d learned how to change their own tie colors. When they’d played capture the flag, basically, down in the ravine below the wooden bridge.
At least she could say she didn’t know most of the other students, although that was rather intentional. It meant she didn’t have to sit with Adi though, but it also eliminated Hady and Benny. And pretty much any of the other Slytherins near her year, plus some. But then, she doubted trading her tie for another Slytherin’s really counted anyhow. Either way, she just made her way to a seat. If someone felt like asking her for her tie, she wouldn’t stop them. She’d just fill out the name tag.

Since he was doing the whole tie off thing, he may as well unbutton his shirt too... the sensation of constantly being coked was not his favourite. Swinging the tie around his finger - and it ALMOST flying off on a number of occasions, Zeke watched as the class slowly filled. Ava was here, and Hady, and others too... he smiled in their directions, unsure if they really noticed.

Professor Baxter CLEARLY knew what was up. She paused in front of it to pull out a writing utensil and write her message on the wall, before picking out the biggest and happiest sticker she could find and brushing hair off her forehead so she good stick it on. There. Take THAT, mood, there were entire stickers and walls fighting against you. It was true, everybody DID feel bad sometimes, even Prefects, apparently. She started on her way to the desks again, now looking around for somebody to switch ties with. She passed by the professor and said, "Hi Professor Baxter," then took a seat near Zeke. Yeah, okay, she did know him already but she'd met everybody else too, and they'd never talked much before so it totally counted. "Hey. Zeke. Want to switch ties?" She didn't really get that part of the rules but Professor Baxter PROBABLY knew what she was doing, being a Professor 'n all that.
It was only when Norah addressed him that he stopped his tie swinging and turned slightly to see her sitting near him. Howdy.
"Yeah sure," he mused, holding out his tie for her to take. "Any idea what all this is about?" Cause he thought it was weird. Very weird. The message on the wall thing was one thing, but then all this other business seemed... excessive? What did any of this have to do with Charms? What was the point in doing this? Did it even have a purpose? Or was it one of those I'm-cool-because-I'm-a-Professor-and-let's-do-fun-cooky-cute-things things? He HOPED there was an explanation for this, because it was effort that wasn't contributing to his grade as far as he could tell.
Colt was busy looking around the classroom, when he heard a timid voice. He turned around and noticed there was a little guy standing there. He smiled at him because the kid did look cute. He had to admit and even the kid had some manners. Well not manners but he seemed fancy. "Sure kid." he said taking off his tie and giving it to him. "Wear the slytherin colors proudly." he told him and nodded. Wait should he introduce himself? "I'm Colt."
