About 20 meters to the right of the breakfast bar on the still somewhat green grounds that hold the elegant golden leaved autumn trees in the background, the staff have put up 4 identical, enlarged, lush green bushes: one bush for each house.
Each house's students need to work together as a team with the help of their head of house and prefects to transform their assigned bush into their very own house mascot (e.g. an eagle for the Ravenclaws, a badger for the Hufflepuffs, a snake for the Slytherins and a lion for the Gryffindors). Every house needs a mascot for the topiary race that will commence in about an hour's time.
Every student, the staff have assumed, hopefully have brought their wands with them down to the event. To work on transforming the bush you can use the cutting charm 'Diffindo'. If you, by the off chance forgot your wand, (ahem, long stares at you if you did) then Professor Myers has provided a small box of muggle pruning shearers that you can use so you can still help with the mascot creation.
When an hour has passed and all houses have transformed their bushes into a giant bush mascot of their house’s animal, you all head over with the staff to the topiary race track (Don't forget to bring your house mascot!) The track is a big wide circle where the students in X house has to stand apart at intervals like in a relay race to cover the track. Student A in each of the 4 houses will then ride their mascot to student B who will ride it to student C etc until all the mascots have crossed the finish line.

Errr, the hair-cutting spell? Paulina blinked. Henric was joking, right? Paulina laughed and shook her head in amusement. Hufflepuffs really were something else.
Enough talking though, because they were on to trimming!
Paulina was definitely looking forward to this. Smiling, she began to work on one of the badger's legs. It was important to make their mascot look incredible and hopefully she knew enough about their appearance to do a good job with assisting.

Kaycee was not really sure what the point of this team building exercise was. It seemed like a too many cooks in the kitchen type scenario to her. She circled the bush a few times. "Still looks like a bush." she said simply.
"Oh. Wait. Now it sort of has some long twigs. It's a uneven growing bush now."
Yup. Totally helpful.

Adi merely poked Henric on his shoulder. "Lighten up, dude. I reckon I can try that spell on your hair sometime.'' SMIIIIRK! Haha! Their badger would have EPIC hair! He could tell already. With Henric working on that later on and him neatening it up, they would have the coolest looking mascot. "You got it!''
...................
With Henric and Paulina working on the badger's body, Adi continued working on the head. He kept an eye on the other Houses. Gryffindor seemed to be moving along as fast at they were though the Claws had the advantage of Musical Myers on their team. And looky! Culloden was helping him! Awesomeee! "Careful not to mess up my work of art, Professor,'' he joked as he moved his wand about, snipping at this and that to shape the badger's snout. Luckily, he had had a close up look at a badger recently. Haha. Badger Benny.

He was the first one there. What should he do. Milo didn't know any charms to cut or trim branches yet. So instead he looked up and tried to imagine a giant eagle. Because he was just going to try map out where would need to be cut and everything. For reference, obviously.
Otherwise someone could hack into a cm of the eagles wings and it could all be over.

Leo had been at his best feasting on his breakfast and conversing with the students and staff in his close proximity when Abraham had signalled everyone over to make topiary animals out of bushes. Petting his holster to see that he hadn't forgotten his wand Leo took his time to drink up his cup of coffee before he strolled over to the eagle assigned bush.
Joining the students already formed around the bush along with Paul and already working with transforming the bush he said a big smile pursing his lips as he greeted everyone in turn. "Hello Rooney, Milo, Sophie and Prof Myers! I can picture the bush turning into an eagle already. If we just continue to trim it with care to details then I'm sure we'll get a nice eagle shaped bush that we might after the event take back with us to the common room." It'd be awfully nice if they could. Maybe Paul could help him levitate it there or Justin.
"Are we transforming the bush to look like the eagle is in the air flying?" Leo wondered as he rolled up the sleeves of his coat, pulled out his wand and got to work on back of the bush.

Oh lookit! There was one of their prefects now!
Hady gave her fellow snakette a firm nod of her head. "Hello Dot. I know the trimming spell but wouldn't it be easier to get the larger branches out of the way and a shape in mind first?" They needed to get started soon though if they were to stand a chance against the other houses. Once they decided on what their snake would look like then they could get it down to a nice size, shape it up and then trim the details.
Casting a quick glance at the rest of her house she wondered what they were all thinking. "Should we get started, who wants to work on what?" Let's get this ball rolling snakes!

He could see the Ravenclaw group gathered around their forming eagle topiary talking animatedly. They seemed to be scrutinizing every detail of the trimming process, what was it with Ravenclaws?

"So, this is supposed to be its face?" Because it didn't look like a face. She tried the trimming charm on that part. "Flipnsnipwitit" Did she do any good more than harm?
Hehehehehehe... that look on her face was PRICELESS.. and for that reason, he would never stop calling her Little Burton. It was just too good a nickname, AND it kinda suited her, even if she was larger than life itself.
BUT... their task.
Yes.
The face.
"it is, how am I going so far?" he asked, because... he couldn't really see a face in it at all. Did it matter? Would it matter? Would Botros be offended???
"Flipnsnipwitit," he cast again, continuing with his not so handy work.

Finished with his bacon in spite of all the forest animals coming out to breakfast, Davie wandered over to the Topiary area, dusting a few bacon bits off his hands. He popped up beside the Ravenclaw group, right near Professor Myer's elbow, and leaned in to get a peek at their progress so far.
"What about flipnsnipwitit?" Davie contributed, poking his glasses up his nose a bit. "That spell is specifically designed for shrubbery...." Right, Professor Myers? Right? Right?

"Poppies are pretty, I'll sort it." Olympia smiled at her Head of House and turned to Blaise. "Oh, so you're staying now?!" She teased, giving him a little nudge. "Who needs wands, eh?". The third year had seen people's reactions to him not having his wand, but she rather hoped it would be forgotten as she process of shaping their bush got under way.
Watching the Gryffindors team up, she moved back up to the head of their lion. Chewing her lip, she tried to decide what to do first. Form the actual mane or sort the poppies so she had them to add on later? Making a circular movement with her wand hand Olympia muttered "Orchideous". She smiled slightly to herself as a cluster of the desired flower appeared. Pretty, Olympia thought to herself as she set them to the side. The poppies wouldn't be any trouble, thank goodness!
Now for the mane. Holding her wand hand and spare hand out infront of her, Olympia spoke clearly. "Flipnsnipwitit". As she worked Olympia began humming merrily to herself, occasionally looking up to see, overall, how the team was doing.
Olympia was pleasantly suprised at the fact that her mane was going rather well, she couldn't wait to see the full thing finished.
She looked over at a girl in the year above (Kaycee) as she heard her comment and pouted. "Oh don't say that!!" Olympia exclaimed, "I'm hoping it'll take shape soon.." They had been working on the bush for some time now after all.

Because the first year definitely didn't know how to do that well enough to safely get his housemate up there.
Before they had much time to begin dangerously levitating each other, an adult showed up, perhaps the best adult they could wish for! "Professor Myers, thanks for coming to help us! We'll definitely have the best looking topiary now!" They guy had been hired at Hogwarts because of his work and knowledge of plants. How could they loose? Well numbers were a problem right now but surely the Herbology Professor counted as more than one person helping.
Milo had NOT known the spell so that was a good way to start. "Diffindo, right. Got it." He'd have to practice once or twice surely but he could get it down soon enough.
The feet would be a good start but before he could even get his wand out, Miss Sophie had arrived and started suggesting something else. The feet wouldn't be too important. "Maybe we can work on the rest and then decide on the feet when we are almost finished? See what looks right with the rest of it?" She also had another spell to help with. He would have to remember these for classes.
Deciding he might as well start practicing the spell and maybe get a few unruly branches out of the way in the process, Milo pulled his wand out and marched back to the topiary and what would be the 'body' of the eagle. "Diffindo!" The branches moved, a leaf fell off but it was probably the wind. "Dif-fin-do!" This time Milo said it much more forceful and with as much intent as he could muster. A quick cutting sound was made and a small section of branches fell from the rest of the plant. "Oh man! Look what I did!!"

Paul was excited to see more people trickling in! Was he being odd, as a professor, in joining the Ravenclaw team? Maybe, but Paul was just trying to get involved! Miss Brown, the head girl, made a VERY good point! "Ahhh...that nifty little spell would work well, if not better!" Flipnsnipwitit. Nifty little non-traditional spell that Paul used ...seldom, mostly because he wasn't a magical trimming shrubbery fellow.
But no matter!
"Well, Diffindo OR Flipnsnipwitit...Miss Brown has the wand movement down for the snippy one--" he chuckled to himself and nodded at Sophie's idea about the wings being spread. "YES! I LOVE IT!" Creativity was FLOWING! HE COULD FEEL IT. HE LOVED IT.
Oh, HI LEO! Paul smiled and waved at his friend! "Yes--I think Sophie's idea is a winning one, for sure! An eagle about to take off--right right---" he was so confident in the Ravenclaw team!
ANOTHER STUDENT. Sabbath. The one with the weird name, yes, Paul knew this face from classes. How calm and relaxed he looked. "Nice to see you, m'boy!" he waved at him. "Diffindo or Flipnsnipwitit...whichever suits your fancy--the latter is the one specifically for shrubs--" he always forgot it, personally.
DAVID TRUEBRIDGE! Paul was excited to see him, too! "Hello, m'boy! Nice to see you! And yes--that's the one--Miss Brown has..reminded me of it." SOME Herbology professor he was, forgetting' SPELLS LEFT AND RIGHT, HMM? Paul didn't let it bother him too much. A mind could only store...so many things that weren't used in day-to-day life.
"All right team. Are we ready to go?"

It'd be awfully nice if they could. Maybe Paul could help him levitate it there or Justin.
"Are we transforming the bush to look like the eagle is in the air flying?" Leo wondered as he rolled up the sleeves of his coat, pulled out his wand and got to work on back of the bush.

Slowly, but surely, he and Milo were joined by other Ravenclaw and Professors. Rooney’s arm extended and he touched the plant before him. Okay, so it would be a little struggle to cut through it or just snap things with his hands, so they really would need to use their wands for it. ”Um.. Do you think we should start at the top, instead of the feet? In case it gets a little top-heavy?” And failed to soar alongside their expectations? Having Professor Myers’ hand clapped on his shoulder meant that he couldn’t get closer to Miss Sophie Brown and encourage her to give him a hug or put her hand on his shoulder or use him as a leaning post. What about a stool. He could crouch. Be a foot stall for her when she was finished with this and ready to study for her end of year exams. Those important ones.
Instead he just smiled wide at her and thought about how the light was catching her hair in such a way that it looked heavenly.
Maybe that was just her. But her idea about a soaring eagle was the most wonderful…
”What was that, Miss Sophie Brown?” Of Hogwarts. ”Flipsnip…what?” He hadn’t been listening enough to catch the end. He was actually just thinking about what different lights would do to her skin. Hm.. Pretty, of course. ”I’ll put you on my shoulders if you want, Milo?” Or..they could leave that to the taller Ravenclaws, because Rooney wasn’t certain that he’d be able to hold Milo up for too long. Maybe they could achieve a totem pole of Ravenclaw students?
The others that turned up got a smile from him, but he really was just a little bit captivated by the Head Girl, her ideas and the task ahead of them. Captivated enough that he took his notebook from his trousers and tried to draw out a map for their work with actual measurements. That was, if he was guessing the height and width correctly.

They needed to get started soon though if they were to stand a chance against the other houses. Once they decided on what their snake would look like then they could get it down to a nice size, shape it up and then trim the details.
Casting a quick glance at the rest of her house she wondered what they were all thinking. "Should we get started, who wants to work on what?" Let's get this ball rolling snakes!
"I meant more for after we get the general shape down. Why don't we all just... try to get the general shape, and then someone can work on detail work once we're to that point?" 'Cause it turns out that Hady was right about another thing... they needed to get started or end up being the group with a big bush left.
Dot set the muffin down on a flat rock and inched her way up to their topiary. She was not a fan of Herbology on a good day, and she didn't even have gloves today. She was going to touch real live plant matter with her actual FINGERS.
"Diffindo." The first branch came off, and Dot tossed it to the side. "I'll work up from here."

Olly only vaguely recognized most of the Slytherins around him. There was a first year, and a few older students. He didn't know the names of any of them. He recognized the girl prefect too when she came along but, uh, what was her name? One of the girls was calling her Dot, which could not be her real name, could it? It was the same girl who'd told him the spell. Diffindo. Cool.
"I can work on the bottom," he offered. Dot looked like she had the top covered, and Olly did not really want to have to climb off the ground. Not yet, at least. So he found a big branch close to the ground and pointed his wand. "Diffindo." He severed one of the biggest branches that was pointing out towards him and not where it should be at all if they wanted it to look like a snake. He took the branch and threw it into the pile that the prefect had started with her branch. So far so good, but they needed everyone to help if they wanted to get it done on time.

The Groundskeeper was here observing the snakies and bush that was going to get the best looking design with The Healer. Yes. Their team was going to win, no matter what, starting with the best design of them all. There was no convincing Justin otherwise.
"Good work Prefect Wojack-Gusey, Miss Lynch, Traulton, Thomas-Borzekowski." For taking the first initiative as Justin glanced over at the others needing... something to do. "It's going to take more than these three to win now. Masters Barrington, Foster, Romalotti. We can get started on the top with getting a rough trim of the head before we get to detailed carving." Especially if they were going for that excellent suggestion, so they could roll with it, yeah? "Let's keep at it then." Trim, trim, trim.

Bacon.
She could not get enough bacon.
Which was why Evangline was late to the activity/competition part of the camp and ALSO why she was still eating strips of bacon on her way over to the Ravenclaw topiary. But she was just in time to hear the tail end of the instructions. They were going to have the eagle with its wings spread, as if it were taking off. Sounded MAJESTIC.
Stuffing the last bit of bacon into her mouth, Evie wiped the crumbs off her hands and onto her uniform and pulled her wand. "Flipnsnipwitit," Evangeline said slowly to Rooney, who had just asked Sophie what it was, but... whatever, you know, Evie was there to help too. "It's the trimming charm. It's really good for small branches and details. Diffindo will do good for bigger branches, too."
And with that, Evie designated herself a WING DESIGNER. Since she was older and had a bit of experience with wandwork, Evie started trimming away branches to create a feathery looking texture for the eagle's wings. "Flipnsnipwitit!" She cast multiple times to help shape the wings. You know, she wasn't particularly artistic, but maybe Topiary designing was easier than painting...

Right well this task delegation thing was going a lot better than he thought. Man, he wasn’t all that bad at this. Did Flamsteed SEE how okay he was doing?!!? Merlin. Hopefully this made up for that horrible term as a Fifth Year Prefect. Ahem. But anywaaaaaaays, he had to delegate again. ‘Cause this time Candice was asking him about tasks and Zander just nodded towards Yoongi and Zeke ”You should help Yoongi and Zeke, they’ll tell you what needs to be done on that end.” Because the tail wasn’t all that much work and he and Blaise basically had that down, he was sure.
And when Noelle bounced around asking for a job, he simply nodded in the direction of all the older students. ‘Cause they knew what they were doing. This was great. Like a chain of leadership. He liked it. He gave Ava a large smile, but otherwise let Flamsteed take care of that explanation. And it looked like Olympia had the coloring task, so that was great. Man. Gryffindor was going to get so CREATIVE. It was gonna be GREAT.
”Awesome, Blaise,” he watched as the first year began plucking at the topiary…. And sigh, started helping with the task. As much as he wanted to use his wand, he had to be encouraging. And Flamsteed asked him to do this. SIGH. Merlin, you’d think becoming Head Boy would get him out of doing all this basic stuff. But no. At least it was for the good of Gryffindor. That’s what he had to keep reminding himself. Ahem. ”It’s looking good, Blaise,”… And a little rough too, but Zander would take care of that with his wand afterwards. In the meantime, lots of pulling and breaking happening with hands. Sigh.
And Yoongi and Zeke were on top of things. Which made the task MUCH easier. He gave the two a HUGE thumbs up from over on his end of the lion.
-_________-
He couldn’t say the same thing about that Kaycee girl… But you can’t win them all, huh?
Right anyways, back to breaking of twigs. With his hands. Because this is what his life has come down to.
Much too early for this. And he hadn’t even gotten his coffee yet. Hopefully that was the prize for this thing.

Slipnsnipwitit? Okay, sure, he definitely had that. "Thank you, Head Babe." It wasn't an official title, but Evangeline could have it if it kept her upbeat and helpful when Rooney hadn't heard things from other students. Besides, it didn't inconvenience anyone else, did it? If it did, Roo would think properly about calling her by her name instead of a self-proclaimed title.
"WAIT!!" Rooney panicked, flapped his arms and tried to get the attention of Evie and everyone else. "I HAVE THE MEASUREMENTS SKETCHED OUUUUT." And they were already cutting into it and he was losing time to change his measurements accordingly.
Just as Milo had begun to snap off a few small twigs someone had joined him. It was Rooney! "I'm not sure how tall it is right now." He said aloud, not really helpful but he didn't. It was definitely much taller than them. "We will definitely need taller people to come soon and help. Unless you can levitate me." Because the first year definitely didn't know how to do that well enough to safely get his housemate up there.
Before they had much time to begin dangerously levitating each other, an adult showed up, perhaps the best adult they could wish for! "Professor Myers, thanks for coming to help us! "The measurements...."
Sophie was not one who could help with the taller parts as she was likely the shortest seventh year around at five feet two inches. Milo was already getting to work, but Soph stayed attuned to the conversation - she didn't respond to Sabbath's question, as Milo was helpfully demonstrating the spell for anyone who didn't know by putting the spell right into action - and she nodded along at all the talk. Yes, she thought they would make the topiary fly... but wasn't that the whole point of the topiary race to come? Wouldn't they HAVE to animate them? Certainly Botros didn't expect their eagle to run along or anything, so flying had to be the way to go. And her idea of having the eagle READY TO TAKE FLIGHT made that all the more relevant.
Smiling at Davie, Soph nodded further at Myers letting the boy know Soph had suggested that, and opened her mouth to respond to Rooney's questioning of the trimming charm when...
Evie arrived, helpful as ever. Yes. Of course. No doubt the girl would be as pleasant as could be in front of their Head of House, the other professors, and the whole school. Typical.
There was visible strain on Sophie's face when Rooney - sweet, angelic Rooney - called Evie Head Babe, and Sophie's jaw clenched, suddenly moving and walking around to the other side of the topiary from the group at large. Yeah, so Evie WAS a babe, and the first time Soph had heard of Evie calling herself that, she'd laughed, but... times had changed. And so had Evangeline Shacklebolt.
So she was just going to... work over here. Yes. Except she HEARD Rooney's distress about the measurements, and... Soph peeked her head around at him. "Hang on. Y'got this planned out already?" Smart kid, but he was clearly distressed because people were MESSING IT UP. Maybe... she could help ease his stress by giving him a sense of purpose? "Gimme guidance, Oh Great One." The Head Girl raised her wand, pointing it toward the bush, and looked to the second year, smiling encouragingly.

The Slytherin Head of House stood there next to the groundskeeper watching and listening to the snakes discuss what they were going to do with the shapeless blob of a bush that was in front of them.
"Mr. McLeod is right everyone. We're going to need all of you helping with this project to win." Even those little first years. "We definitely want the head at the top looking fierce and ready to strike out at anyone who tries to get in our way." Especially those lions. The snakes had just beat them in gobstones and Cece fully expected her house to keep up their momentum and beat them at this too.
"Like Mr. McLeod said, let's keep at it. Let's show those other houses how to win this thing." Seriously, there was no way they could lose at this one. They were the only house with the groundskeeper on their team.
Otter This World ♡ Catpurrccino ♡ Slotherin ♡ Pandamonium
So far things sounded like they were under control. It became even more set in stone or well 'hedge' when Mr. McLeod and their Head of House arrived to confirm they needed to get working together on everything. It sounded good to her.
Hearing Dot explain what she meant Hady gave her a nod and a small smile. "Ah, I guess I miss understood you there Dot but I agree." So with that she gave a bright smile to both Healer Murdoch and the Groundskeeper. Miss Lady Snake here and ready to get moving on. Pulling out her wand she chose to knell down in the grass and get working on the lower sections. Someone had to do it after. "I'll work with Oliver on the bottom," she confirmed simply.
"Diffindo," Hady cast using the proper wand movement to cut off a large branch. "Diffindo, diffindo, diffindo." The charm was then used several more times as she began to remove the much larger not needed branches from their hedge.

Botros had taken a seat with professor York and watched the students and their leaders start carving those mascot shapes. Some looked pretty funny during the process, he had his cup of tea in his hand as he chuckled at the unfinished shapes but all in all, everyone was doing great with the spellwork. Even the little kids!
Once the mascots took the closest shapes possible, the headmaster gulped down the rest of his tea and stood up. "Alright, time's up!" He called out for everyone to stop working. "It's getting late and we have a race to win," he beamed and gestured at the circular field on their right. "Every student of all houses should take a spot along this circular track. Starting point is where I'm standing. The aim is to ride those mascots, after animating them, until the end of this track. Each student will ride the mascot once and when they reach the next person from their house, they tag them and then take their position while the tagged student rides on the mascot and heads for the next student." Simple enough, yes? All they had to do was ride the thing as fast as they could and tag each other until they reached the last student on the racing track. "The winner is not who finishes first, though. It is who collects the most points by the end of this race. You get ten points for finishing first, but along the track there are hidden and sometimes buried items that you need to collect. Those items give you different amount of points depending on their value." Yes? Abraham trusted the House Heads to help with anything the students needed along the way.
"Get set, everyone! We're starting in two minutes!" Just as they ran around to take their spots on the track.
SPOILER!!: ooc Rules
ooc: - Main Activity of this camp is to strengthen the house spirit and teamwork between students, and this race is how we're wrapping this all up!
- The ooc rules of the race is as follows:
Each house represents one group competing against the others.
Please say which position you are on in the subject line e.g. "Position 1" for first student to post, "Position 2" for the following student to post... etc.
Each student is allowed only 1 post doing the race. And for the entire group to finish the race, they need at least 5 students participating. You can post your student watching or making observation but don't go crazy so we keep track of the racing posts.
Posts have to include animating the topiary (first student only), riding it out to look for X item, and tagging the next person. (Last person needs to unanimate the topiary)
The winner is determined by the sum of points they gather in the end: Finishing the race first (10 points) + the points assigned to each item they found.
Do not RP for anyone else. When you change over just say you tagged someone, please don't say who because you never know who will want to post next.
Any questions or concerns can be directed to Deezerz or myself.
We have a little over 48 hrs to finish this race, it is considered finished when Botros announces it so keep posting until then.
Finding Items:
To find items, we assigned a few word puzzles for you.
Rules:
A puzzle will be posted every 12 hrs to cover all timezones, as such:
P B C L S W R T M L
I Z W K F D I T L Q
Z G K X Z G Z D D L
M U A O Q Q F J C F
F M L J O H W Q S S
L T I H N B E F F N
H V X T T E S G Y T
B H S Z R Q G Z L O
J G R P W A Z D J N
T O C N L J H N X W
Only one word is contained in the puzzle, and that word is the item your student should find. For example, you found the word 'book' in the puzzle, then your student should find a book on the ground while racing.
The puzzle will last for 90 minutes only until it is erased. If no one finds a word in there, we'll give a hint in the puzzle thread and leave it for another 30 minutes.
All houses share the same puzzle. When one house finds the item, the other houses can't find it too.
If someone finds the word before the 90 minutes are up, we erase the puzzle immediately. Next puzzle doesn't go up earlier, the time is fixed.
When you find the word you're looking for, do not post anywhere other than this thread. Post your student racing and finding this item. All you have to do is put it on the post's title, e.g. "Position 3, Puzzle#2: book".
There are only 4 items throughout the race. You don't have to wait for a puzzle to be posted in order to post your student racing. Not every student has to find something, some can just ride the topiary to the next student.
Deezerz and myself are responsible for the puzzles, and only us know the solutions, so don't bother asking for help from other staffers? XD (also that is cheating, shhhh)

He was about to say something nice about Miss Sophie Brown's hair, when she moved around their topiary and he could only frown. Was there something more important on the other side? Was he missing something? He didn't follow, because he was very busy in doing his measurement thing, and worrying about it. He wasn't going to cry about it, either. Instead he waved his notebook around and gave it toward Miss Sophie Brown (of Hogwarts) with a forced smile. "I... it... I'd rather we could make it anatomically correct.."

"Position 3, Puzzle#2: book".

........ Oh no.
Riding?
What?
Rooney wrapped his fingers tight around his wand and leaned into the Ravenclaw topiary, wishing for it to swallow him up or eat him or whatever it was that topiaries did to people that required stuff. Could he get out of this if possible? He really just wanted to get out of it. Could he go and get breakfast again? Round three of food? Was that possible? Oh no he had broken a toe, a leg, an arm, a brain. He couldn't do this.
"Someone go first, please!" AKA he was not ready to animate anything, nor was he ready to get up on the eagle.

WHAT? Evie felt like they had just started. Forget about measurements, they just had to make this leafy thing look like an eagle. As she listened to the Headmaster babble on the instructions, Evie chunked away pieces of the shrub along with the others until it finally looked... well, at least it kind of looked like a bird.
So, essentially, they were doing a relay race. That sounded fun. And they got extra points if they picked up the special items on the way. Which meant whoever animated this topiary had to have good skills if they wanted it to go fast down the track. Which meaaant, it should be a seventh year and that kinda left Sophie and herself, soooo...
"I'll go first!" Evangeline volunteered cheerfully, standing beside the eagle that they had created. Before focusing on the animation work, Evie cast a simple cushioning charm on the eagle's back so they wouldn't be prodded in the bum with twigs the whole ride.
It was time to WIN THE RACE! Evie hopped onto the Eagle's back, where she had planted the cushioning charm. With her wand still out, Evie called to her housemates. "Take your positions!" And then she swooped her wand towards the eagle and held onto a branch.
"Piertotum Locomoter!"And you damn well better be fast!
Evie's intent must have gone through with the transfiguration spell because she had to hold on tight when the topiary eagle flapped its wings and half-hopped, half-flew its way down the track that had been set up for them. It was quite exhilarating. A little bit bumpy, but fun! She had never ridden a... bush... before. As the eagle topiary made its way down the track and closer to the first classmate in line, Evie leaned over and tagged her fellow Ravenclaw on the shoulder before hopping off the eagle so they could get on. "GO, GO!"
Dante heard all the Healer and Groundskeeper tell them how to cut into into a snake. He watched them start it seeing how they wanted this snake to look and after that he got the general idea. He helped of coursed. He was not just going to sit back and let everyone else to it. He probably would have if he was a first year and claim he cant do the spell or was horrible at it. But now he cant do that. So he helped casting diffindo and yeah. Pretty soon there was a snake and now we find out what we were making this thing for. Ah so it was a race. Well that was interesting.
More interesting was they had to ride the grass shrub animal thing.
"Ah, i'll ride this thing first"
Shrug.
He focused on animating it. Since you know the spell required concentration. "Piertotum Locomotor" Look at this snake. It was a something alright. He jumped on the head of this snake thing. He was not thinking that far head with cushioning and protecting his behind. But it was a snake. And it was moving. This was weird. He has basically his arms wrapped around the snakes neck because really it would be so uncool to fall off the shrub snake. Though this was still not as weird as the time he was a snake. But weird. He raced down the track, or slithered more like it, as fast as he could to the next person in line.
"Now Your Turn!"
He said sliding off the snake quickly.
He might not show it but he did want to win.
