Centered among the shops of Hogsmeade is a well enough known pub in the small village, called The Three Broomsticks. Not unlike the Hog's Head down the street in the strictest idea of pubs, drinks and the like, however it is the atmosphere that helps make the latter choice the one hailed by the mass majority. The outside of the building is a good preview of what the inside may look like with the same steep roof as the surrounding buildings, yet taller, with a sign on it's facade featuring, you guessed it, the legendary three boomsticks, all fixed around a lantern to light the patrons' way.
Once you enter the pub, smells and the warmth of the large stone fireplace great you as you place hats and coats by the door. Directly infront of you there are tables and booths lining the majority of the small hall with oil lamps placed on each one. On winter days it is usually hard to find a place beside the large fire grate but if you're early enough, only Merlin can say what will happen. To your left the bar and most likely the bartender Harold "Hops" Lagerty, await you and your order--a few stools await you to take a load off and shoot the breeze with others.
The bartender is pretty sociable to those who don't annoy him. He's seen his lot of warlocks, goblins, and Hogwarts kids to know which ones were trouble and which of those made loyal customers, so be sure not to be put on the first part of the list.
A few rules from the Shop Owner: No brawling, no shouting (angrily), no alcohol to minors, and don't go up the stairs, I live up there.
OCC Rules: No RPing for the shopkeeper and all other School RPG Rules apply.

Hogwarts weekends were always busier than normal weekends, but this weekend had caught Harold off guard. Going to the back to restock on brownies he left the front unattended for just moments. As he came back he was happy to see how busy it had gotten.
Moving straight to the counter he looked at the first student he saw wanting to order.
SPOILER!!: Jackson

Usually to some girls that he thought that she was special. So, Leah was special for him.. Maybe?
Ehem. Stop thinking about that, Seunghyun.
Order? Okay. His brown eyes scanned the menu. He was not really hungry but when he noticed that there is mac and cheese on the menu, his mind could imagine the deliciousness of macaroni with creamy cheesy gooey cheese. Hmm... He loves pasta, especially mac and cheese. Gulp, he swallowed his saliva. Maybe he should order one. But he also wanted brownies too. Omo, which one should he order? Hmmm...
Mac and cheese.... Brownies... Mac and cheese... Brownies... Such a hard decision, huh?
Well, why not both?
"I'm gonna get mac and cheese, butterbeer... and brownies." Hehehe. "I'll place the order, just wait here." Then the Korean boy walked to the counter and made the order. "Hello, sir. We'd like two warm butterbeer, some assorted cookies, mac and cheese, and two slice of brownies, please?" How much all of that cost, by the way? He had a bunch of galleons on his pocket and hopefully it's enough for him treating his hufflepuff girl friend.
He nodded at the boy before turning to fill his order. Reaching for the brownies he had just brought fresh from the back, Harold turned and set the items on the tray. "That will be 2 galleons and 10 sickles," pushing the tray closer to the young man he looked at the rest of the shop. Had to make sure the students were behaving like they should.

Gabe returned the handshake firmly. Something else he'd learned from the man sitting in front of him.
"Likewise, Mr. Emerson." Pause. "Have you eaten anything today? Did you want to order something....besides coffee?" It was difficult not to slip back into intern mode...as Gabe had seen to these more menial tasks in his post. And he vividly remembered the heart attack, okay? His concern wasn't without reason.
"...and thank you. It's been going well. We're looking at different ideas to increase reader interaction." Perhaps Mr. Emerson had ideas...
The WHiM Editor shook his head and ran his thumb across the top of his cup aimlessly, "I'm quite fine, Mr. Banner. Thank you for your concern." He had eaten earlier at the office before he had popped over. His employees were equally concerned with his health.
"Have you considered," Edward said, taking a glance around the room at the ruckus surrounding him, "Perhaps having a WHiM sponsored event?" He vaguely remembered Gabriel telling him that the Quill, his publication, was going to be run by him but would have a Professor as a supervisor. That seemed like a direct enough link to the faculty to get permission for such an endeavour. "For example," he mused, "Every year WHiM sponsors Fashion Week and numerous musical events. Do you have any creative people at your school who would want to show their work? A venue to give out your publication to the masses." Publicity. All publicity was good publicity.

Gabe wasn't as inclined to believe him, as Mr. Emerson hid those things about himself (until he was mid-heart attack on the floor, ahem). But he couldn't make a compelling enough argument, given that the man didn't look unwell.
Perhaps, next time.
Naturally, with the mention of talented people, the Ravenclaw's thoughts jumped to Clara and her artistry, as well as not-so-little-anymore Maddie Cooper...but that was a different type of medium. Music-wise, he recalled fellow Claw Benzie and the Hufflepuff Noel Wallace...doing something with music on Halloween. The night had been a blur, of course...but the memory was there. "It would have to be over a holiday break. I doubt think anyone would get a free pass just to showcase something like music."

"Forgive me," Edward amended himself, "I am so used to talking about my company I meant to say Quill sponsored. Do something with just your student body." Not a WHiM sponsored event. That would be ludicrous and, besides, if anyone could manage an entire operation by himself it would be Gabriel. Hogwarts was very lucky to have their paper in such capable hands. Edward was constantly impressed by the young man sitting across from him.
He adjusted his cuffs and casually offered, "Should you want to host something over the holidays, though, and need a venue reach out to my assistant. He'll be more than happy to help you set up something." Edward would without hesitation call in a favour should Gabriel need one.
Though, an on campus event sponsored by the Quill would get a much fuller audience.

Oh, well...that made leagues more sense, then. Gabe colored slightly, just a slight reddening of his cheeks, and nodded briefly.
"We have our annual Prefect event, which all the Prefects are involved in organizing." Gabe paused and smiled brilliantly. Yes, Gabes were capable of brilliant smiling. "It's going to be an impressive occasion this term." Planning was well underway and he was actually excited for it. Mhm. It was completely different and quite ideal given the circumstances. "...I do think we could manage something on a smaller scale; unrelated. Maybe a tea party? or book reading? Do you have any further suggestions?" There was another pause and some more nodding.
OH, and speaking of holidays..."Is Christmas still happening in France, sir?"

From the flush of Gabriel's cheeks, a sight Edward was well accustomed to, he had assumed the pair of them had shared in that misunderstanding. What he was unfamiliar with was that smile. No doubt, Edward gleaned, that Mr. Banner was a part of that preparation. A prefect event. That had been so long ago for Edward now he scarcely remembered it.
"See what you can do with that. And of course I do, Mr. Banner." He did this for a living, it was his job to come up with ideas. Or pay others to do that for him. "Have you considered a student interest section?"
As far as he knew...? "Yes. My assistant is in the middle of handling all of the details, but as far as I know it is. And," he added, "should you find yourself needing a place on Christmas you are welcome to spend it with WHiM." They would be on his boat. Perhaps not Christmas day but around the holiday for sure.

"We've been discussing a Student Spotlight. Professor Quigley's idea. He's absolutely brilliant." Gabe would rave about the man because he was intelligent and had imparted with helpful knowledge. The Ravenclaw respected that, you know?
...and it was a struggle not to get slightly possessive about anyone assisting Mr. Emerson, aside from himself...but Gabe put on an easy smile and nodded, nonetheless. "I'd planned to...if that's no trouble, sir." No sass, just facts. The event had been in preparation for months; he himself helping with some of it. So, why not?...and he'd already invited someone to join him.

"That sounds like a marvelous idea. You need to up your consumers want to be involved. That will get you a larger audience. So if they feel involved...they will come." WHiM could do that on a large scale, but, because the Quill had the small field advantage, they could use specific people to bolster reader rates.
As to the holidays, Edward smiled warmly at his old intern, the two had a very good report, "No trouble at all. Let Mr. Bateman know if you will be bringing a plus one so he can set that up for him." The two had spoken at length enough about things this summer to know that Gabriel had no problem finding a plus one. For reasons.

The note she'd sent the younger Hufflepuff had been pretty cryptic but that was all in the name of surprising Tobias. So after simply owling him a location and time, and crossing her fingers that he'd show up, Ella made her way to Hogsmeade.
Once inside The Three Broomsticks, the blonde found a table towards the back and set her bag down gently. Her jacket was shrugged off next and placed carefully beside her. It was weird being back here. Really weird. And actually, she felt really old. Plus the fact that she had an engagement ring on her finger made her feel like her time at Hogwarts had been a lifetime ago. It was all very strange. Lucky for her, she didn't have much time to dwell on these things. Tobias should be here any minute.
Another Hogsemeade weekend. Harold had washed down the tables and checked his stalk in brownies. He knew he would be selling more than a usual weekend with a bunch of teenagers coming in. With Valentines Day right around the corner he knew the couples would be out full force, so he'd stay visible today to make sure there wasn't too much unacceptable behavior going on.
Heading to the back he pulled out napkins to re-stalk the front. As he moved back to the front of the shop he glanced around.
Quiet so far wasn't it?

...Hopefully.
Most people who received a note with just a time and location would probably have been a little too suspicious, a little too way about turning up there. One might have thought, what with having a set of very protective parents these days AND with all the constant vigilance lectures they'd had at school over the past year or so, that Toby might have been one of these people. That was completely incorrect. As soon as Toby got the note, he knew at once he was going to turn up and see who was there. It was exciting, like an adventure.
And so it was that he showed up, right on time, give or take a few minutes. Lingering at the doorway for a moment, Toby scanned the room for anyone familiar who might be likely to meet with him. It only took around 0.0000000000002 seconds to spot her.
"ELLA!" Toby suddenly cried out, totally gleeful like he was twelve years old again. In a rush of excitement, he hurried across to her table and threw himself into the seat beside the blonde, tackling her in a hug. There were tears in his eyes, HAPPY tears mostly, but he buried his face in her shoulder and just squished. Sorry Ella. "I've MISSED you!"

His reaction was everything she'd hoped it'd be, minus the tears. She didn't want tears for Tobias. For this reason, the blonde wrapped her arms around her little badger brother and squeezed tight. Did he realize how happy she was to see him? Did he also realize how horrified she was because the boy she was hugging was not so much a boy as a proper man-child person. Merlin, when had he grown up?
"I've missed you more, Tobias!" The twenty-two year old pulled back a bit and smiled big at him, sure of this fact. "And I couldn't let a Hogsmeade weekend go by without seeing you. I demand you tell me how you are over some...butterbeer? How does that sound?" It was her treat!

"Nuh-uh. Impossible," Toby replied, squishing Ella tight, but not TOO tight. Because she was actually one of the few people who was smaller than him, so even though he wasn't strong, he still didn't want to accidentally LITERALLY squish her. But hugs were best when they were proper squeezes and everything.
When Ella pulled back, so did Toby, though he paused for a moment to quickly brush at his eyes so he could grin at his BIG SISTER all properly without any tears ruining it. Who said they were allowed anyway? Not him. He nodded his head eagerly. "Sure, sure. Butterbeer, yeah. Please. Thank you." More fervent nodding happened, but then, before Ella could do anything about drinks, Toby suddenly reached around for her hand, which was still sort of partly in hug mod. He turned a little and gently moved it up so he could see the engagement ring again, but also stay in the hug for a few moments longer. He'd seen it before, and in person too, but Toby liked to look at it EVERY single time they met up. "It's so pretty." Happy sigh.

Two butterbeers coming right up. Or, they would be, as soon as Tobias was finished with the hugging. He knew she wouldn't mind sitting like this forever, right? Or for a while, at least. This due to the fact that her future husband was one of the best and most frequent giver of hugs that she knew. She was very comfortable wrapped up in a hug and it helped that Toby hugs were a close second to Alec's. So yes, she was quite content staying right here.
Happy sigh, indeed. Ella couldn't help but smile stupidly down at the ring, still not quite able to believe that she was going to be a wife come summer time. "It is, yes. Alec did really good picking it out. I can just picture how stressed he was. Wants everything to be perfect and all. He's sweet like that." Ella smiled a bit wider, glancing at Toby. "Thanks for giving him your permission, by the way. I don't think I've said that to you, yet." She knew she didn't need the younger badger's permission but he was family and his opinion had meant a lot, Treyen's too. "I hope you've kept the end of July clear on your calendar." Hint, hint.

Carrying her six month old into the broomsticks Victoria looked around. Here eyes scanning the shop for her husband, but it seemed she had beat him here. That was fine though she could sit down and get Helena into a high chair and settled. Finding a seat off in the corner she summoned a high chair and set the baby down. "Are you hungry?" The coos and little noises made her believe that Helena was distracted by all the colors and people moving around.
"Maybe you can see your big brother, I bet he would be excited to see you." She figured him and Cinna would show up eventually, Hogsmeade wasn't that big, but maybe he would avoid her if he saw her. She never felt like she could read him and since the letter from Rebecca's father had come he had not been speaking to her that much. She wasn't even sure when the last time she saw an owl from him.
Absentmindedly she bit her nails thinking about the possibility of Bart not being this close next term.

His hands were comfortably snug in his pockets, VERY comfortably snug. And so it was with a hint of reluctance that he pulled them from their warmth in order to open the door ahead of his company. His fellow Gryffindor, Amur.
"After you," he asserted, nudging her with his elbow to prompt her to be faster. They should go in, yes, HE wanted in. Really his discomfort was his own fault, he still didn't bother with layers, and as easy as a heating charm would be, he still lived his life like a muggle on most days. "Looking forward to summer?" he asked, with warmth on his mind. Needless to say he was already making plans.

Big smiles from Toby were happening as he eyed the ring and watched the way it glinted so brightly in the light of the pub. It really was super pretty. Neither Javy nor Piers had had a ring like this, and Toby wondered WHY but then thought that maybe it wasn't really their style. Other than them, he'd never known anyone who'd got engaged, so this was all very exciting even from the sidelines. Plus he liked to look at the pretty ring, okay?
He nodded. "I think he did it, though. Got the perfect ring, I mean. It's beautiful. Just like you, y'know?" Ehehe. Man, it was good, SO good, to be around Ella again. She made him feel like his soul was smiling, and he'd truly needed it, more than he'd even realised. Toby looked at her again and smiled. "You're welcome. Really, I'd been waiting for him to ask you for aaaaages. But I was patient. And then he asked ME - and Mysterious Treyen - to ask you, and it was awesome." His smile had grown wider and wider, and at that LAST comment from Ella, he was truly grinning.
"July?! This July? Really?!" That was so CLOSE TO NOW! "Yes, yes, of course! I'll be totally free, free as a bird. And I'll have graduated so I'll be extra free!" WEDDINGWEDDINGWEDDING. "Can Curtis come? Piers and Javy, maybe?" Or, wait, hold on there, Tobias. Reeeeeeel it in. The seventh year seemed to remember himself and his gleeful grin turned into a sort of sheepish one. "Sorry, I mean... I'm just super excited for you, y'know?"

Ella felt herself blushing, still not quite comfortable with people commenting on her appearance like that. It was hard to be when she didn't agree with the things being said. Still, she appreciated them. "You're sweet, y'know?" She nudged him gently. He was going to make someone really happy some day, she knew. "And I wanted him to ask all my brothers, you and Mysterious Treyen, included. I'm glad he did." And that it'd all worked out. She'd been wanting this for a long time and it'd been worth the wait.
"Really!" His excitement was contagious, did he know? The blonde found herself bouncing a bit in her seat, all smiles. "Don't be sorry! I was thinking since you can have a guest, your family could be your guests, if you want? They could come to the reception and celebrate with us? That is, if they want. We'd be happy to have them there." Really happy. Just thinking about the big day was making the twenty-two year old a bit emotional so she bit her lip to stop the stupid smiling. "What do you think?"
First thought out of the door, the now-open door? She didn't need anyone to hold said door open for her. Her hands worked fine enough as it was thank-you-very-much, so did her arm muscles. They may not have looked like much, but she was working on it.
Had it been any other besides Zeke, she would have said something. But this was Zeke, and he was her friend. And he was pratically shoving her through the door, so there was no point in protest. That, and it was right frigid outside. So, Amur shuffled inside and waited for him to join her, blowing into her own hands to warm them a little. "Thanks."
Her nose twitched at all the strange smells in the place, at the musty air and the light din of noise floating about their heads. Warm drinks. That was why they were here. Because Zeke didn't seem to know the definition of 'winter'. That being, it got cold. That meant one needed....nevermind. She'd already given him the appraising, one-arched-eyebrow to make her statement earlier. No need in rehashing.
"Not a tick." Surprised he even knew that summer was a different season. "Too much to do around Hogwarts. I'll be right bored come the summer." Not that the farm wasn't fun, couldn't be fun. But she wasn't allowed to practice magic there. "Trying to come up with a game plan not to have to leave."
Amur eyed her friend sideways. "You are?" Obviously, at least for the warmth.

"That's what people tell me," Toby replied, still smiling, though now he thought about it he could only think of one person who still called him sweet, and she was sitting right here with him. Still, that wasn't the point, was it? "I'm glad that you're glad. And meeting Mysterious Treyen was awesome, especially after you talked about him so much before. I thought he was super cool, and he recognised me from Quidditch." Which had BASICALLY won Toby over, though he'd have been won over anyway, after all.
Anyways, Toby finally decided to sit like a normal human being, mainly so that he could see Ella better, though he had every intention to continue squishing her with hugs again soon, no doubt about it. HER bouncing made HIM all bouncy too, and how long had it been since that happened? "Brilliant! Yes, perfect!" It really was perfect, 'cause it was like... family. It occurred to Toby to ask if his grandmother could come too, but just as he opened his mouth to pose the question, he suddenly remembered Ella's grandmother, and how she wouldn't be here for it, so he decided not to bring it up, just in case it made her sad (Toby definitely didn't want to make that happen). He'd just write to Alec later and ask him, perhaps. "I think that sounds great."

Cosgrach was late, but for a good cause: he'd brought one single rose for her and shaved for Helena to kiss her. It wasn't the first time they were visiting him, but he was still excited. If any students wanted to meet his daughter, they were welcome to.
He entered the shop and it took him only a little time to find them. Once he saw his family, he was grinning from ear to ear as his eyes were glinting with joy.
"Ladies," he said and kissed Vic's cheek, then pet the cheek of Helena with the outside of his index finger. "Hello, young one. Came to visit your dad?"

Her smile grew as she saw her handsome husband come into the shop, "Hello Professor" she grinned more as he kissed her cheek. "I hope you weren't having issues with our son and that's what made you a tad late." She had started using our for the kids even if they weren't technically his. He was their step father so they were his children in that way, so it was just easier for her to work with.
Looking towards Helena as she looked up at her daddy babbling her little baby talk and smiling at him, "I think she missed you." It really hadn't been that long since he had visited home, but Helena seemed to miss him when he wasn't around.
Placing the spoon with the baby applesauce in front of her daughter she wasn't sure if she would eat now that she had become distracted by her daddy.

'Our' son.
It made his heart swell every time she included him in their things. Who would have thought he could be so lucky with his 'step' children? He shook his head. "He's doin' fine," he said and although he didn't believe that Helena could miss him really without really understanding anything, he smiled.
"We have all day," he said to his daughter and brought out the red rose out of his pocket for Vic.

He bobbed inside at Amur's back, the blonde of her hair distracting him as the light took to it. Already it was more comfortable inside than the walk had been. "Welcome," Zeke mururmed in reply, pausing beside her, his hands returning to the depths of his pockets once more.
Initially his mind had been set on his butterer, but that was quickly reprioritised as Amur voiced her thoughts on the coming summer. Granted, it was a while away, but he was hoping the time would fly. Not because he wasn't enjoying his third year at Hogwarts, he was, but he was excited for what would come next. His brows shot up when she said not a tick. NOT A TICK. He could at least appreciate that there was so much more to do at Hogwarts than out in the world, so he nodded his understanding. "I suppose," he agreed verbally, and since that was more or less covered he quickly slipped in a question so they could order and move. "Hot chocolate or butterer?" he asked as he started toward the bar.
As for how to NOT leave Hogwarts for the summer? "Uuuuhhhh... offer to help the groundskeeper maintain the ... grounds?" yeah, it was his first thought. "Or better yet, maybe you could ask to be an apprentice stable hand over the break? It'd beat any internship you could get in Diagon." EASY. Cause creatures were often better company than people. Was this a thing that could happen? Because if so... then he might consider it also.
But as the conversation was directed back to him, he realised he wanted to be home more than he wanted to be at Hogwarts over break. "Yeah, I miss mum, and there are things I need to sort out that's hard to do at school." Meaning, it was hard to do from HERE, in Scotland, so far away. If only HE could portkey home for a bit and come back.

He agreed, but he didn't look like he agreed. Maybe he was still processing it. After all, Zeke took to thinking like a Ravenclaw took to books. Was a wonder he wasn't in the house.
"Nnnn, hot chocolate. Get enough of weird concoctions at home." Sure, it probably butterer probably tasted good, but at the moment Amur wanted something simple and normal. And well, chocolate. One couldn't go wrong there, right?
She had fallen in step to follow him, when he went and said that. That most wonderful thing that reminded her why he wasn't in that blue house. That stopped her dead in her tracks. Because he was brilliant. MORE brilliant than any Ravenclaw could EVER be. And so, for a moment, she stood there in the middle of the room, staring at his back, the grin forming bit by bit.
With a sudden burst of energy, Amur rushed back to his side, grinning madly. "On second thought make that butterer. And do you really think so? You really think they'd go for that? I mean don't Professors want to go home too? And why would they trust a student? I wouldn't trust a student if I were them." Probably why most walked around like with rather constipated expressions. "Especially in the nicety of summer. Kids go weird then."
She knew. She was one of them.
But still. I was worth a shot, wasn't it? "I'm buying." To celebrate Zeke and his brilliant mind. And so there was no argument, her little coin purse was out and her eyebrows raised expectantly at her friend. What was he having? Hmmmm?
But more importantly... "Things? What things?" It didn't occur to her that it might be a private question. He could say so if it was. It was just the most logical question to such a mysterious answer.
