The pathways can take you to several places on the ground unless you aren't looking to go anywhere, in which case the pathways are the perfect place to take a walk and clear your head. There are all sorts of trees lining the way, some you can climb if you feel so inclined. Others may wish to take a little rest at the base of one as they offer excellent shade.
A few of the trees bear fruit when in season, which you're more than welcome to once you have the means of collecting said fruit yourself.
This is a typically quiet area where you can hear the leaves rustling in the wind and the crunch of fallen ones when someone passes by. With the trees being thicker in some areas than others it can also provide the perfect spot for a rousing game of hide and seek or a paintball war--though Mr. Maclaren won't like it very much if you leave the place a complete mess afterwards so it might not be advised for the less diligent.
Take a walk, you never know where you might end up.
Lady like her? Professor Culloden thought she was a lady??? Goooooosh! That was so flattering coming from a Potions Master like himself. "I'm sure she will be MUCH more of a lady than me." Because really she was nothing spectacular.
Oh YES. She was excited to be an aunt. "Thank you! Oh, yes. I have never been an aunt before, so this is going to be amazing." But of course she was way more excited for Willa and Jaxson.
Wasn't Lux so kind and positive about this? Made Cosgrach even happier... but he also wished Helena was here with them now. Sigh... he'd missed her too much already.
"Thank you for the good wishes," he said, then paused. "This means they're going to attend to Hogwarts only one year apart." So this also meant that they had to meet if Lux' sister also approved of it. Needless to say, the man believed Lux would make a great aunt, but he forgot to say that as he was excited for finding his little Helena her first friend.

Leah walked out to the pathways, not particularly going anywhere, but hoping to end up someplace where she could just take a rest. Actually, this was a perfect place itself. There were not many people around, and the trees lining the sides provided shady spots every now and then. With a smile on her face, she took a slow walk, listening to the leaves crunching under her feet and - a familiar voice singing.
She tiptoed forwards as silently as she could until she saw the back of her new friend Jackson. It WAS him, yeah? She knew he was into music and stuff, but never guessed that he was this good a singer. Leah quickened her steps to keep pace with him and soon she was right beside him. "Nice song," then she smiiiled up at the tall boy. "Hello."
He was really in a mood for singing. No matter where he was, when he was in a mood for singing, he would sing. Even in a place like this. "Always you should know you're my honey. Always you are on my mind~" He kept singing that song. This song reminded him of his days back at Kirin. He still missed his old school, how could he wouldn't miss it? Back there, he spent most of his school time by practicing the piano, dance or sing. But it didn't mean that he didn't enjoy Hogwarts. So far, his days at this place was great. He made some friends, the lessons were fun too, and he could still play piano at the common room--Lucky that they had one there.
Still humming the tone, The Korean boy noticed that there was somebody walking beside him. Her voice was familiar as she said the song was nice (or maybe his voice was nice? Hehehe). He couldn't help but slightly blushed when she said that. Huh? Wait, why he had to blush? "Hey there." He smiled back at Leah. Okay, what should he say next? "Well uh.. Lovely day, isn't it?" He grinned sheepishly.

Lux BEAMED at Professor Culloden because this conversation made her happy. She really loved babies!! "Wow, it would be so cool if they become friends! I never thought about that." Willa and Jaxson might not have her baby come to Hogwarts, but there was a possibility and that meant that the two babies would probably be at school together.
Time was weird and seemed to fly by really fast while going really slowly at the same time. "It's crazy to think that next year is my last here, but I am so excited and ready for the real world!!" Of course she would love Hogwarts forever. It had a special place in her heart because that was where she had met her boyfriend and friends and developed her love for potions and magic.

Cosgrach laughed briefly. "Yes, it would." THERE, great fathering here - already finding friends for his daughter that was only a few weeks old. He felt so pleased with himself, because clearly the parents were there to find friends.
Wait, what?
Cosgrach gaped at her. Wasn't she... still a fourth year? A fifth, maximum? No, well, he knew she was sixth, but she didn't FEEL like sixth, and it was shocking when she said it like that. But, after a moment, he laughed at himself. He was being ridiculous.

It seemed Abby didn't mind the dirt. Cool! She was a little like AJ. Angel would definitely refuse to sit on there. LOL. "Thanks for the encouragement,'' Adi said and now flicking his wand at another mini tree and thinking the incantation. Nope, nothing.
BUMMER!
He shot a glance at Abby. He was still apprehensive about disturbing her and her reading so he remained silent... which was as difficult for him as staying still. But still, he had this spell to distract him.

Flick, flick went his wand as he tried again.
Abby smiled at Adi as she looked over from her reading and said "You like your still struggling there, i mean i don't mind you talking to me while i read cause i am good at multi-tasking"

"Have you thought of a career yet?"
Hehe, woooo. Plans were made and Lux could see that Professor Culloden was very happy. It was so cute!! "You are going to be one of the best dads ever." She knew that much already even though his daughter was only a newborn. This was NOT sucking up either, because she knew that he was a good step-father and he was very kind and helpful to others.
It was hard to keep a straight face, however, when he gaped at her. Did he forget that she was a Sixth Year? Sometimes Lux felt that people saw her as a little girl still and everyone called her innocent. She just loved colouring books and The Little Mermaid and wasn't ashamed about it.
He was asking her about her future career, and Lux KNEW what she wanted to do. Had known for a few years now. "I am going to invent potions and sell them to people!" She could have a shop and sell her creations as well as a few common ones, like love potions.

See, uh, that was ONE compliment he didn't know how to respond to, because he didn't think... he was going to be 'great'. So, instead of saying anything, he focused on HER career options.
BECAUSE she wanted to become an INVENTOR!
He smiled, but honestly, he wasn't surprised. This was the least he expected of her - she was that great in potions.
"This is great choice!" he said and chuckled. Of course he'd say so. "And you're going to be great." One day, he'd brew her recipes. Well, he had brewed her recipe for free potions, but y'know.

GRRR!
FRUSTRATING that's what this was. Adi shook his wand. Seriously, dude. It isn't your wand's fault. With a bit of dejection in his voice, Adi replied to Abby. "I am. Magic can he so challenging sometimes.'' But Abby, being a Ravenclaw must have some secret knowledge on how to fix that? At least that was what he though. Him and his imagination. LOL.
"Maybe. But if I keep chattering on you'll wouldn't be able to read a single word.'' Because Adi talked A LOT when he was in the mood. He sighed. "I don't think I'll be getting anywhere with this for now, Abby, and I'm not going to disturb that Ravenclaw brain of yours so I think I'll head back to the Castle.'' He was going to go find something to do that did NOT involve spell work at all. Something like snacking on cookies. Tippin could probably let him have some.
The Hufflepuff stood up. "I'll see you around, Abbs! Enjoy your book.'' She did get a cheerful grin from him before he bounded off towards the Castle, putting non verbal spells behind him and now occupying his mind with thoughts of cookies and milk.

Lux wondered if there was something wrong with the comment that she made about him being a great father. Professor Culloden seemed unable to respond, but that was totally okay. She knew that she was right about it and she was sure that he would realize it eventually too!!
And now it was HIS turn to compliment HER.
Gosh. A potions GENIUS was praising her career choice and abilities. Did he have any idea how much that meant to her???? Because she ADMIRED this man. Admired him and how much he KNEW about potions. It was like he could talk to them and they could talk to him.
"Thank you SO much, sir. You have no idea how much that means to me."

Cosgrach laughed a little.
"I look forward to the day I brew your creations," he said. He really meant it, too. He hoped she'd realise her potential fully.

Well, then...
He looked at his watch. Was it dinner time yet?
His comment made Lux smile more, but he was checking his watch. Oh. Was she keeping him from something important? That wouldn't be nice and she would feel pretty bad about it!
"I was going to ask if you wanted to brew another potion together, but that can wait if you are busy." The man had a job to do and it was probably around meal time. There was still loads of time for them to make potions together!!
Angel was totally looking forwards to spending some time outside, she had been busy studying and spending time in the Gryffindor Girl Dorm... going through a lot of things and now she has to figure out what she was going to do next... she decided that she would go and take a walk around the pathways and see if she could figure out what she was going to do next she really needed to speak to a few people who she hadn't seen in ages, she really wished that she could speak to them now but she had no idea where any of her friends were.

Cosgrach ALWAYS wanted to brew potions with students unless the said student was awful, so he nodded.
"I'd love to," he said, "but I need something in my belly first." She'd understand, right? "So, how about... we meet this Friday after dinner?" Then they wouldn't worry about anything. Plus she'd be one of the cool ones who had permission to roam around after curfew too, although it probably wouldn't take that long.

Awesome!! They were going to make potions together again. Lux liked brewing with Culloden because they had fun and he could teach her a lot of cool stuff because he was a professional.
"Sounds good, Professor! Let's both eat and then meet up on Friday!!" That was totally cool beans with her!! And if she ended up being out past curfew, it would be okay because Culloden would give her permission! So no trouble for her.
"See you later, alligator!" With a wave goodbye she was off.

He shook it off the best he could before fighting the urge to roll his eyes at the Dormouse mention.
"Sure...in a small enough dose." Benny just hoped there weren't any dangers from his potion on toads.
Oh yeah, they did have to make Culloden aware of what they were taking from the cabinet. "Right..." he said with a nod at the reminder. The lion picking up a quill and scribbling down his name and potion for the record.
"Guess it's a go then," Benny mused, exchanging quill for potions bottle once more and heading out of the lab.
Adi followed Benny out of the Potions Lab, refusing to let the topic of him being older being dropped. Not for now at least. "I can tell you, it's great to be the older one. Seventeen on the seventeenth... you know what that means for our summer, right?" Of course Benny knew. It was just that Adi could not shut up with the topic. Oh yeah... "Your potion wouldn't hurt Gus, would it?" Speaking of the toady... Its owner reached into his pocket and just for fun, propped him on Benny's head. Hehe. A Toad Top Hat!
"Gus makes the perfect hair accessory,'' silly Adi said as they reached the shade of the Pathways. "Let's try your potion first.'' He was both excited and nervous because Benny wasn't the best when it came to Potions but he had had two persons helping out over the last year... Adi and Culloden. So the Potion wouldn't be that bad, right? The Hufflepuff flopped down under a tree, his back to it. He was READY for the Potion experiment!

He was in contrast being mostly quiet as they walked up from the potions lab and out towards the pathways. "Mhmm..." Benny answered to the affirmative. He knew what was likely to be happening over the summer between them. He was still pretty torn about it and his feelings on the matter, but the time to decide was drastically slipping away pretty quickly as the term went on.
"I don't think so," the Gryffindor assured him, pausing in step as the toad was placed on his head. "At least none of the ingrediants used are dangerous," he added turning his eyes almost crossed to look up at his traveling companion. And Culloden had checked it over....at least for human consumption. "He does," he agreed absently, relaxing into the stance of carrying the creature on him.
So ...his potion.
Benny joined Adi on the ground, kneeling as he reached into his pocket for where he had stashed the vial. Pouring a little potion into the cap, the sixth year placed the bottle somewhere safe. He then picked Gus up off his head and placed him before the cap to get him to drink. "Try it Guster."

Benny was SO quiet! Not that Adi minded. He was quite used to it after four years. Besides, he had enough chatter in him for both of them. "I've been practicing. Bellaire's been helping too because she's giving me advice about human transfiguration...'' He figured Animagi and Transfiguring humans shared the same theory. The Hufflepuff looked sideways at his friend. "Don't worry. I bet you'll love being a real dragon.'' Hehe.
Adi nodded. He had confidence in Benny's choice of ingredients. Plus, Culloden had done his job by checking over the Potion. Anywaaayyy, he adjusted himself on the ground by sitting cross legged and peering intently at Benny and Gus the Dormouse and hair accessory through his specs.
Making a mental note to study Benny's concoction sometime, he watched Gus as he seemingly studied the capful of liquid. "He's taking his time,'' Adi observed. Gus was now turning his head this way and that as though trying to pick up the scent of the potion. Then with a quick, smooth motion, his long, pink tongue shot out of his mouth to taste the liquid. Ohh, look! Gus seemed to like it for he stuck his tongue in the cork again!

Benny knew his friend had been practicing, he had said as much before and had promised him of such to try and calm him about the future plans of his. But the fact that Bellaire was helping took him by surprise. "Really?" The woman had been all against human transfiguration, at least of that sort, whenever it came up in a lesson. Unless she had figured out or been told Adi's plans and was messing with it as further punishment for his involvement in the prank last term.
He unconsciously swallowed as he fought the nerves and concern that came up. "Um..yeah....I suppose so," he mused moving back to the task at hand...watching Gus as he went after the the sample of potion. He was taking his time, but then maybe the toad was like him and cautious, at least nowadays. But eventually Gus appeared to have taken a decent amount of the potion according to his size in Benny's opinion.
Now there was the wait...
The Gryffindor kept a close eye on the creature, attentive for sight of any twitch or movement. Wait...was that something? Was Gusterson actually off the ground? On closer inspection it seemed the amphibian might be floating.

He had been a bit reckless recently. Just just reckless but Gryffindor reckless. But after he and Medea's loss on top of the disappearance of Pebbles, the Astronomy professor had decided he was spending too much of his time being idle. Needed to get out there more and enjoy life before it slipped by unnoticed and unresolved.
He had not forgiven Maddox for what he had learned from Sabel a few days ago, but he had appearances to keep up and to make sure that Maddox suspected nothing peculiar was brewing against him. So, besides his restless nature to DO, nothing was out of the ordinary between the two of them. Were even up to a bit of mischief themselves.
Moving stealthily through the bushes and trees unseen by those walking the pathway, Airey jumped behind a rock and beckoned for Maddox to join him. "Targets acquired," he whispered as he knelt down to scoop up some snow from the ground.

Well it took him bloody long enough.
Maddox could understand the grief at losing say... a child maybe and only from the standpoint of being absolutely gutted if he'd lost any of his children but bemoaning a damned rock? Losing all his senses because the thing was gone? No, the Charms Professor couldn't do it, he wouldn't, not while there was still fun to be had.
Thankfully, Airey had snapped out of it and they could do what highly mature and responsible adults did when they weren't teaching. Obviously.
The man slid in next to his colleague, peering over the rock (haha rock, see the rock Airey?) at the boys in the distance. "I think we're good to go. All systems ready."
With that, he drew his wand, animating a portion of the snow so it rolled into a ball on it's own. He took another glance over the rock to be sure then sent it hurtling right at the 6th Years. Between his assult and Airey's hopefully they would have success. SO mature.

With that, he drew his wand, animating a portion of the snow so it rolled into a ball on it's own. He took another glance over the rock to be sure then sent it hurtling right at the 6th Years. Between his assult and Airey's hopefully they would have success. SO mature.
Really, Maddox? What was wrong with doing things the old fashioned way? Feeling the cold damp snow on the palms of your hands and all that 'so this is life' sensations that a man looking for connections desired? It took him about another five seconds to realize that Maddox's method was much more efficient given the nature of their sneak attack.
Still...
Picking up the two snowballs he had managed to complete, the gangly astronomer hurtled them both at either of the boys (although the one thrown with his left hand was significantly weaker than the right and fell a few yards short). His own wand out now, he enchanted the snow around him as Maddox had done and sent at least a dozen more towards the two boys. "NOT EVEN PROTEGO WILL SAVE YOU NOW!" he cackled under his breath.

"Yeah.'' Adi settled back happily against a tree, ignoring the cold. Actually, since the chilly weather was his favourite, it never really bothered him. He absently doodled on the snow in front of his. Maybe it was a nervous reaction to watching Gus take toady licks at the potion. Yeah, that was definitely it. "I think at first she got mistaken that I wanted to talk about Animagus stuff but since that involves changing humans too, I listened to every thing she had to say about that.'' Not to mention Adi was interested in becoming an Animagi too, though at this point in time he was really more interested in perfecting his patronus.
He would have said more on that topic but two things happened at once: One- Gus was levitating off of the ground and two- SNOWBALLS O__O Some clumps of the powdery substance that was snow fell a few feet from Adi. "Where did THOSE come from?" he demanded, totally forgetting about his toad as he jumped to his feet.
Gosh! Forget about that! Even more of the this were being directed at them! The Hufflepuff received one to the head and two to the left shoulder and yet there were more on the way. What, what, WHAT?!
"Immobolus!'' Ugh! No, that wouldn't work. There were waaaay too many snowballs. "Protego!'' There! A shield charm should help!
