Once you've made your entrance, you can choose which table to sit at from the wide central walk space running up to the staff dais. The floor has been polished over the summer to a sheen so shiny that you can see your own appearance in it. Awesome!
She didn't need a healer. She was fine minus this terrible headache. Internally sighting she nodded. "I'll just let the shopkeeper and the others get checked out first." No need to rush anything she was fine laying on the floor better than in the web. She gave Professor Cassie a small smile. If it wasn't for Cassie asking she probably would have pitched a fit about it not seeing the healer. She just didn't want to take up important time for the shopkeeper and Lux and the others. Maybe by that time she could sneak up to the common room, she had people she had too see.
The Zhenya was rushing over to check on her. Which was okay with her. She laid a cold wash cloth over her forehead. "Thank you, Zhenya." She gave her a weak smile. Perfect. This was great. The sixth year closed her eyes. Sleep was it coming? Probably not. Sigh. Ew. Food. No. No thank you. Yes she just said no to food. Disappointed that she would have to wait for pain potion. She would just lay there until she could get some.
She was close enough to Bostos and Bunz to hear what was going on. Sitting up quickly still holding the wash cloth to her forehead, "What?" Bunz was resigning. Because of the spiders? Well... She honestly didn't know what to think about this. Other than could she resign as a student? Yes, that should be a thing, this was Hogwarts that should be allowed. Cassie was going to talk her out of this, right?

Eden and Culloden!! *late, not starting, really, just wanted to post this*
Zombie Apocalypse Team Leader ★ ★ in a crown of pepperoni and artisan cheese
Gabriel was hyper aware of every noise just outside the Great Hall double doors. Since the large room had emptied considerably...and he was left to sit and think...and calm down...and then stress himself again with more thinking. The sounds of fighting seemed to be the only thing he could focus on.
...and then...there was Eden.
His fellow Seventh Year was muttering something...and Gabe was aware that he should've been listening...because it was (most likely) not rhetorical, but...the noise was getting louder. It was happening. The spiders were about to bust through those double doors....They were going to die. Everyone...
...but the Headmistress came through, instead...and Gabriel quickly stood up, his legs full of nervous energy. They...were back? But...if they'd gotten through, that had to mean that...the spiders were gone?...But that didn't make much sense. There had been so, SO...many of them, the spiders. How had their small forces trumped...that?
Seeing Culloden following behind not long after, the Ravenclaw shakily walked towards the older man; dragging Eden along with him (since she wasn't letting go, which was fine. Gabe really didn't mind that right now.) When he was close enough, within touching distance, he threw his arms around the potions' master. Tightly. HUGS. HUUUUUGS...and some tears.
This had been a very emotional day...and all he really wanted to do was to go home.

As Annie munched, she started to feel better, especially since Botros was sitting down next to her now. He was such a kindly father figure that it was almost harder to say what she had to say next. She swallowed her brownie and wiped her mouth, looking sadder and more somber now.
"Another victory for Hogwarts, yes, but not for me. I'm tired of this..... well, madness, Ab! I can't do it anymore. I need you to summon some parchment and a quill, because I am resigning and I think you should take over the school at the end of this term." She tilted her chin up and reached for another brownie. "We'll let Cassandra Rae know that you are a suitable Headmaster, because you don't get kidnapped in the middle of your lessons...." She bit into her brownie a bit angrily.
He wasn't hungry, thanks, he was looking forward to going back to his office and polishing his cane. Maybe re-charm the runes on it, too, they must've faded away after all this use today.
"What do you mean, your--" he tried to cut her off but she seemed determined to talk on. She wanted to resign? No no, no. Botros had a calm reaction to the news, it wasn't the first time he'd seen a colleague/boss resign. It was the first time they resigned after an acromantula attack, though. "Li--" but professor Morgan was obviously with them in this conversation? Ab glanced at her for a moment then back to Annie. This was a talk between the headmistress and her deputy, really. "Listen Annie, I will fetch you whatever you want. Just have some food, we'll get you a glass of wine and after the adrenaline has all but subsided, we can talk about life-changing decisions," he gave her arm a gently pat.
"The kidnapping wasn't your fault," he added quietly. "Hogwarts is a place injected with intense magic power, it'll always draw new and odd forces. Nobody can stop that, what matters is that we always win in the end. It keeps us safe somehow, even if not in the way that we expect," he nodded confidently.

That didn't bother Cece though, she had others that needed her care. Like the ones Zhenya had around her.
"How are things going over here Zhenya?" She looked at the woman (Maise) that was dead passed out. "What happened to her? Was she attacked by spiders?" She then looked around at the others in the area as she took her ever faithful smelling salts out of her pocket and ran them under the woman's nose. That should do the trick, unless the woman really was dead. If that was the case then there wasn't enough smelling salts in the world that would be able to wake the woman.

Back in the Forest, they needed all hands on deck, whether or not they could pull off a stunning spell at the arachnids, and NOT die...or faint. But yes, those things happen when you least expect it.
Was she a Hufflepuff or what? Okay, maybe she's just being decent and proper, but Mordred thinks that the shopkeeper will be scarred for life. Not everyone has the guts to follow through such missions, and her fainting was an obvious indication that she's not built to last such harsh conditions.
No words were said, and the Slytherin girl was quick to do a first aid. Mordred stood up from the floor, and gave her the space she needed to put the damp cloth on the shopkeeper's forehead. The former Slytherin opened his mouth to ask her something, but, obviously taking his words seriously, she went off to search for the Healer...
...and this kid was no Healer. Mordred was quick to remember that he's one of the rescuers back in the Forest. Dark grey eyes stared back at the boy, forcing himself not to roll his eyes. "She still got her hands and feet intact, so no, the Acromantulas didn't get to her." Right? And was she alright? Mordred can't tell. "Let's hope for the best, Prefect." There. He was being kind. And decent.
Finally, an adult person. Was she the Healer? Yes, the smelling salts gave her away. Shifting his attention from the Prefect to the woman, Mordred frowned as he looked down at the Shopkeeper and crossed his arms."No ma'am, she wasn't. She passed out before the spiders closed in on us." Maybe the Healer should go check her head? The travel getting out of the Forbidden Forest was a rough one, that she may have sustained some hits on the head? What? They had to go out of that place as quickly as possible, fearing that the spiders will come back as soon as they realized they were tricked.
Zhenya actually had no idea what happened. She didn't even know what her name was, but she assumed the woman had fainted, been knocked out, or something similar. Zhenya was about to open her mouth to say she wasn't entirely sure what happened, but the man, thankfully, got there first. He knew. Zhenya watched as Healer Murdoch pulled out some smelling salts and put them under the woman's nose. Zhenya wanted to know what was in the salts, but now wasn't the time to ask. Instead, she watched, tense, hoping the woman woke up, and decided to list off the injuries or other problems once the woman was awake and stable.

She tried to be a well behaved patient for the fellow snakette , as best as she could. When she was offered water , she accepted it gratefully and cupped the goblet with her hands. "Thank you." Add that to her listed of most used words today....but she really was grateful.
Zhenya was just trying to shove a few supplies in the pockets of her robes and walk back to Ilia, when another student offered to help her. Zhenya stopped and looked at her with relief. "Yes! Um," she looked around. What needed doing first? "I think I should look at Ilia's leg first and cover that. Could you help me with that?" she asked, and turned to walk back to Ilia, hoping the student had helped. Daisy, she believed her name to be.
Good, Ilia was okay with her looking at her leg. "Daisy here is just going to give me a hand too, I hope that's okay," she added for good measure. Hmm, it looked quite painful. "What happened?" she asked, whilst looking at the cut. She pulled her wand out and pointed it to her hands, changing to do each one, and cleaned them. She wished she had a wound-cleaning potion, although she was reluctant to do anything incase she made it worse.
The saline solution would just help a tiny bit until Healer Murdoch could have a look at it. "I'm just going to dab at it with this wet gauze, then I'll put some fresh wet gauze on and then bandage it, just to keep it a bit more clean and protected until Healer Murdoch gets here," she explained. She took one bit of saline soaked gauze and dabbed it around the outside of the wound to clean some of the blood, then she got a fresh piece and dabbed the cut, just dabbing, to try and clean it a little. Once that was done, she got another few fresh pieces, soaked with saline, and pressed them gently to the cut. "Daisy can I get you to start wrapping the bandage around whilst I hold this gauze in place?" she asked the young lion. She didn't want the gauze to flop off. "How's that feeling Ilia?" she asked, hoping it wasn't painful. She tried to be careful.
SPOILER!!: Adi and Lux

Eden was waving to her, and Lux returned the gesture even though she wanted to give her friend a hug instead. There was no way it could happen right now, because on top of not having much strength, there were questions she needed to answer in order for her Healer to help her. "Well, I have no energy and I've barely eaten anything in a little over a week. I haven't really slept much in that time either." Professor Cassie had asked the house elves for food, but Lux wasn't sure how she could eat it in her current state.
As to the rest... "I feel terrible emotionally, but I don't know if I have any cuts or bruises. I can't really feel anything." She was numb.
Zhenya gave Lux a small smile as she watched her down the goblet again. Oh, she must not have been given water or anything. "Aguamenti," she said, refilling the goblet. She knew Lux needed a bit of food otherwise she would probably faint or something. "Oh, I have something," she said, and rummaged in her pockets for the chocolate bar. Only two measly squares remained, "It's not much sorry, hopefully it will help a little until something more substantial comes," she said, handing it to Lux. She didn't want her to faint from low blood sugar levels.
All Zhenya wanted to do was give Lux a big hug, a lot of food, and tuck her in bed with a potion to help her enter a deep, dreamless state. She didn't have any of those things, though, but hoped to Merlin that the food would come soon.
And then Adi mentioned her training already. She smiled and nodded, "Healer Murdoch wouldn't let us join search and rescue, but she said I could help her with the less major injuries." Even though it was awful why she was helping, and she would have preferred the acromantula debacle never to have happened, being able to help Healer Murdoch was an awesome experience.
SPOILER!!: Cinna

Zhenya offered a small smile to Cinna, glad her help wasn't unwelcome. And then Cinna sat up quite suddenly, and Zhenya tried to keep a subtle eye on her just in case the sitting up too quick made her feel a bit faint. She seemed okay. But then Zhenya realised why she had sat up so suddenly.
Headmistress Truebridge was retiring? WHAT?! And... well, leaving Professor Botros in her place. But that was just... just... Zhenya didn't have a word for it. Professor Botros seemed to be trying to be reasonable and talk about it, and even though Zhenya hadn't been taken by the beasts, nor had she seen the state of their holdings, she realised the trauma would be enough to make anyone not want to return. That was a sad thought. But if it did happen, Zhenya could quite easily picture Professor Botros as Headmaster.

As soon as he heard her voice, Noel dropped off Benzi. This was important, Rider! Grinning wide and without saying anything Noel swooped Maggie off the ground in a hug. Yes, today was either forcefully swooping himself off by jumping on people, or swooping others off. This was going to be a thing. He was just really happy to be alive.
Giving her a spin, Noel squeezed her close before pulling away and letting her on the ground again.
"Hi!"
Appropriate, yes.
Okay, now Benzi BETTER be thanking her.
Grinning happily Maggie allowed Noel to sweep her off her feet pick her up. She returned his hug, almost clinging to him, mostly because she was in the air but also - naturally - because she was REALLY REALLY glad that he was okay and here and yes all the happy things.
And then it was over and she was safely on the ground again a second later.
"....hi." Hello yes. She grinned. "I'm glad you're okay." Clearly.
Henric was about to retort back at Adi when llia suddenly burst out on them. He blinked at her,he never seen her this mad at him before. He fell silent, he didn't know what to say. Her words still ringing in his ears, she would have killed him if he died trying to save her?! What did she mean by that? Henric glanced back at Adi and shook his head a little, his eyes telling him he had no idea too. He should just keep quiet, he wouldn't want to anger her anymore. She was hurting and she needed to be treated now.
He watched carefully at what Zhenya was doing to her leg. She hoped it didn't hurt too much...but looking at it made him want to wince in pain. Henric stood closely beside llia, "You're okay, llia?"he asked, concerned.
Finally seeing Leo she waved, but kept a watchful eye on him. His wand looked a bit bad from the attack against it. Luckily he was alright. It was good that everyone was alright. She was just about to turn to the others when she noticed his hand. "Leo" She gasped and hurried over, "You alright Cossy?" giving the man beside him a glance before she turned to the librarian. "What is going on with your fingers? Did the spider nip you when it went for your wand? I should have reacted faster. OHMYGOSH, I'm sorry." She thought she reacted quickly, but his fingers were reddened. [/color]
A second examination of his wand gave Leo some reassurance that it wasn't as bad as he had first feared. He'd of course would have to ask the wand makers in Ollivanders to have a look at it but his hope was that it wasn't too damaged and could be repaired. Leo was so focused on his wand that Cassie's voice sounded unnaturally loud to his hears as she bounded over to him and asked about the state of his fingers. Slightly startled he looked down at his reddened fingers before he looked up at Cassie suddenly a bit worried. "I don't know. They weren't red minutes ago."
"It's possible that the spider nipped me when it attacked my wand." Leo admitted before he reached out to pat Cassie's hand gently. "It wasn't your fault. And if you hadn't reacted as fast as you did then I might have gotten more bites then just those on my fingers. I'll show Cece later." He wasn't going to let her blame herself for the actions of a vicious creature.
He wasn't technically eavsdropping on the conversation between Abraham and Annie but it was hard not to overhear the dreaded words 'I want to RESIGN!" that came out of Annie's mouth. Leo hoped he had heard wrong, it was probably just the stress of being caught in a spider web that had gotten to her. Could she really want to resign?
Waving to Cassie he passed around the staff table and slumped down into one of the empty seats next to Cossy and mumbled relieved to his friend. "I'm glad we made it out of the forest alive. I want a long vacation to a nice beach somewhere after this terms end, how about you?" Placing his wand on the table in front of him Leo disregarding the redness that was growing more prominent on some of his fingers he examined it closely. Splinters were sticking out. That wasn't a good thing right?
Cosgrach turned to look at Leo and nodded.
"Same. A long vacation until the next term." With Helena, Vic, the twins and Bart if he wanted to come. He needed this.
He looked at Leo's fingers, but Cassie was inspecting them too and he left that to her.

"It's okay," he whispered as he hugged the boy tightly back, and patted his back lightly. "We're safe. It's okay."
Gabe was graduating, so... he would be fine, right?
Ilia was somewhat relieved when the boys stopped guilting themselves over her capture and the whole spider mess. It really took her yelling at them for them to come to their senses? She hated to resort to raising her voice but at least it worked. It was rare that she spoke so passionately and loudly about anything....which is why she was sure that the boys looked stunned. Just because she tended to be quiet and introverted didn't mean that she didn't have it in her to be fiery. Adi finally said that he wouldn't call himself useless....and Henric as her if she was okay.
Ok? Now THAT was a loaded question. "I'm alive, so are you and Adi and most of the school. I'm.....something like that." Something like okay. She would just keep soldiering on and deal with it.

Zhenya was back with another girl and she was going to look at her leg too....."Whatever you need to do or have me do." She complied and sat still as the older snake examined her. What happened? She got chewed on by an eight-legged freak. She looked down at her leg silently for a moment before speaking, recalling the scene in her mind.....her rage...."While I was fighting the acromantula's, I wasn't fast enough and one got ahold of my leg before I could.....get it off." What she meant, was actually getting her spell fired off, though it didn't sound like that was her meaning. Making the spider explode to bitty pieces was technically getting it off of her as well.....
The sensation of the wet gauze was both refreshing and.....somewhat painful. The cleansing sting, the shocking cool.....she knew her leg needed it but.....oww. She did her best not to wince at the sensation, knowing that Zhenya was trying to be gentle. How did it feel? Like it got slashed with a meat cleaver and then had salt rubbed into the wound.....oh wait... She did her best to keep her expression stoic and nodded. "Like a leg....or at least I think so." She smiled best she could as she said it. She was trying to amuse and comfort Zhenya as she felt her one eye twitch with the pain. She wasn't going to let herself cry or cry out though. Nope. Not her. She would stay strong so that Henric and Adi wouldn't be upset.

Daisy smiled. Somebody finally wanted her help. And her first task? Bandaging up something. Daisy was good with bandages. She’d had to help the healer with dragon burns all the time back home. “Right away,” she said giving a mock salute before taking the bandage from the older girl’s hands.

Daisy waited patiently forZhenyato clean the wound so she could bandage it. She wasn’t trying to eavesdrop, but even-so she overheard the librarian talkinga bout his hands. “Um,” Daisy said tugging on Zhenya’s sleeve once the girl was done cleaning up the other Slytherin’s wound. “I think Mr. Librarian needs some assistance.” Zhenya was, after all the one with the triage list. If nothing else, she could add his name so that Nurse Murdoch could get to him when she had time. Mr. Librarian wasn’t treating the wound as serious, so Daisy didn’t think it was all that bad. If nothing else, it was probably a lot like the red, itchy bumps she herself had gotten. BUT! If it were bites, well…
“Keep an eye on him for dizziness, nausea, um,” what else had she and the other girls’ had? “Fevers, Headaches… In fact,” she said bending down to wrap the girl’s leg with the bandage. “We should watch everyone on your list for those symptoms. I and a couple other girls were bit a week ago by the spiders – we all had those symptoms. It was not fun.”
Daisy now turned her attention to Illia.“Well,” she said as she carefully rolled the gauze around the girl’s leg. “You seem in rather chipper spirits, considering.” It was a good thing, as Daisy wasn’t sure how she’d be able to handle a girl that was crying or hysterical. “You’ll be good in no time once Nurse Murdoch can have a look at you. She’s good you know,” Daisy was chatting in an attempt to keep the girl calm and her mind off what Daisy was doing. “She healed my friend’s broken leg last year and it was a pretty nasty break. He was back on it in a week.”

She couldn't help but beam and snap, "You are soo welcome. I'm glad I can help!" She adored helping so getting the food was great in her eyes. Taking another bite of her sandwich she let her eyes go about the room making sure all the students were doing alright when she overheard Annie's words.

"Annie you can't mean it." Not that she didn't think Ab could be a headmaster, he was older and wiser and she knew could do a great job, but Annie Truebridge not headmistress. The words couldn't even form in her mouth. "I like that you are keeping it in the Hufflepuff family, but Annie maybe you should take a few days to think about it. Don't just jump to a decision after all of this just happened." Was she speaking when she shouldn't? She knew that it wasn't her conversation, but goodness she was right there and the words left her mouth before she could try to act like she didn't hear.
"Oh but I do," Annie answered in a low voice, leaving forward to eye Cassie as she joined the conversation. Well now if Cassie had heard her, the whole staff would have heard her decision by midnight. No point in discussing things further. She nodded at the Divination professor as though she would think things through.

Reaaaalllly though, once the Bunzinator's mind was made up, it was very difficult to change it. She exhaled noisily through her nose and blotted her mouth with a napkin. "Very well, Abraham. I see this is something we are going to need to talk about later, in my office, over some wine. I will summon you when I am ready. For now, we need to focus on getting these students cleaned up, fed, and off to bed. I trust you will see that that happens."
And with that, she left her dirty napkin on her brownie plate and vacated the Great Hall because she too needed some rest.

The rescue team was back, and honestly Toby had never felt more relieved in his life. He stood well back as everyone trooped in, staying well out of the way and trying to check that they were ALL back. It was impossible to tell, but it sounded like nothing had gone disastrously wrong, and that was VERY good. Aside from that, he didn't really process much else.
And suddenly Toby felt... completely and utterly exhausted, even though he'd just stayed here for the entire rescue mission. It was just, emotional exhaustion. He needed to lay down or something. In his bed. Or under it. 'Til the end of term.
"Can we leave now?" he asked aloud, sounding weary and looking around for the nearest member of staff to answer his question. Like... was it over? Could they leave? He really wanted to leave.

Well. Botros had nothing more to say but to nod his head. "Alright," this wasn't something to talk about lightly when all feelings were mixed and confused. He nodded again at her instructions and watched her leave with a small sigh.

Botros waved his wand at the ceiling to dim the lights in the hall. "Bed time, kids. Professors and Prefects please escort the ones who need the Healer's care to the Hospital Wing before getting approval for them to sleep in their own dorms. If you're still hungry, remain here and eat but bed after dinner. Great job defeating the invasion, everyone," he smiled and did a solo clap for everyone.
Whew. Okay. They COULD leave. Well, that was a relief. Toby nodded at Botros' words. He wasn't really very hungry and didn't feel like staying in a room full of people right now. Just tired. Very tired. After another glance around the Hall, Toby turned and headed through to the Entrance Hall as well.
.......... Suddenly hoping that those dead spiders from before were gone. Um.

They were gone. At last they were gone. Javier after making sure the Entrance Hall was cleaned out with Tiara and others who happened to assist him as well. He could go home again in one piece with everyone else when it was time. Which wasn't now.
Instead after gesturing to an exiting student, he entered into the Great Hall to collect himself, especially after hearing that Annie was fed up with it all. Merlin, who could blame her. Almost being apart of the Spider's Ending Feast. Talk about grim...
Anyways, now that he was in, Javier reached into his robes before approaching and clamping a hand on one of his colleague's (Cosgrach) shoulder. "I figured you could use this." Discreetly slipping into one of his hands a vial with glistening liquid inside. Perks of befriending a Creature Handler. Hmm.. perhaps he could get himself something before departing to rest.
