The Charms Annexe is a converted space on the third floor housed in one of the small towers. It is a round tower room which opens onto the Charms Corridor and stands opposite one of the smaller stairwells that leads up to the fourth floor.
With wide window sills, big enough to sit in, it is the perfect space to curl up with a textbook and study your charms. The round room itself is mostly empty, and has been set aside for practice purposes. Students are permitted to practice any charm they have learned in class during the term or from the Professor or an approved tutor. Duelling and fighting are NOT permitted in this space.
To the sides are shelves of books that contain information on charms for varying skill levels in the event you might like to try something new on your own. The only other thing in the room is a large chest towards the top left corner which contains any items that may be needed for charming purposes. The chest itself is locked, but can be opened with simple unlocking spells.
On the wall facing the door is a board that will occasionally have challenges on it for you to try your hand at while you work towards getting better as well as the names of those who've mastered previous challenges. They aren't a must but they could prove beneficial.

Eden was supposed to meet Clara in here so that they could do their Charms homework together. That would be fun. She couldn't remember the last time she'd done homework with CLARA and not Cole(because he was her homework buddy lately).
She arrived at the Annexe and eyed the targets above her...they were moving. Oh. This would be so fun. Eden had chosen not to wear her robes, thank Merlin, but some an old t-shirt and pants....there was no requirement of ROBES here. Eden was almost never always thinking ahead! She picked a spot in the corner of the room and rather than wait for Clara to arrive to practice, she grabbed one of the balloons and decided to just...get a feel for the spell again. She might have to practice a few times before actually doing it. Hmm. She almost wished she could practice on something else first..did she have anything in her pockets?
Nope. Nothing.
"It's all right, Eden...just ...little practice. Don't shoot the balloon too HIGH--" she just had to concentrate...."Alarte Ascendare!" she said clearly, and with AUTHORITY. Her balloon shot up slightly into the air, and Eden poised herself underneath the balloon to catch it accurately. Right. She didn't even get paint everywhere! WHOOH.
Now..where was Clarabear?
Clara jogged down to the Annexe, hoping that she hadn't kept Eden waiting too long. If she had .... well ... at least she'd have had chance to get some extra practise in .... or to start without her. That was also an option. The redhead had elected to wear more suitable clothes than robes, and when she arrived, she noticed that Eden had too. No point in either getting caught it her robes, or getting her robes dirtied up. "Great minds think alike," she said loudly, approaching her best friend. "I apologise if I've held us up."

Natalia had almost forgotten all about having to complete the CHARMS homework that was assigned a couple days ago. Well, whoops. At least she still had some time to complete it before the assignment was due.
When the Lioness reached the annex on the third place in such a hurry, she was essentially out of breath. Natalia just wanted to get this over with so she could return to her little lion den and nap. Napping was important, okay.
Observing the room set up, Natalia mentally calculated her strategy. So, she must keep vigilance on BOTH her aim and the position of the moving target. It required her to remain attentive and precise. This shouldn't be so hard, as Natalia always showed decent skill at hitting targets. Being too lazy to walk over to the trash bin had its advantages sometimes; it could build on one's aiming skills!
Natalia grabbed a couple of those paint-filled balloons and set them on the ground. Craning her neck up to locate the moving targets, Natalia noticed that the ceiling was already filled with multi-colored paint. Well, if she managed to splash the paint on the ceiling too, it wouldn't be entirely her fault. So, that was one less issue to worry about.
"Alarte Ascendare!" Natalia recited half-energetically, watching the balloon ascend half way up the ceiling, missing the first row by a couple inches before dropping the floor. The balloon exploded immediately, splashing green paint all over the FLOOR. How pathetic! Natalia thought as she grabbed another balloon (with a color to more of her liking, this time).
Angel was totally not looking forwards to charms homework she had been useless at the spell in class and was surprised that she had managed to get her sister of the ground and now she had to try and practice more by hitting targets... she had a funny feeling she would be apologising to people about the mess she had made because she had no idea if she could get the spell to last long enough to hit the target.
Angel had to try and catch the balloon. "Alarte Ascendar!" Angel did the wand movement. "Alarte Ascendergarden!" Angel was nervous and saying the spell wrong. "Alert Logistics!" Angel giggled knowing that... that was not the right spell. "Alarte Ascendare!" Angel suddenly remembered it... "Anyone want to come and stand here so I can practice the spell first?" No way was she getting paint on herself, she might as well use someone else it was called being smart and getting someone to be the fall guy right.

Feeling totally psyched after her inadvertent hit, Lux was so ready to tackle another target. Maybe this time she would hit one on the second row.
Patiently she watched and waited for them to move circularly again. She was ready to give this challenge another go, and fingers crossed things would work out much better this time. Her eyes found her next target and studied it very carefully in order to get a good sense of its movements.
YOU ARE GOING DOOOOOOOOOWN.
Giggling because this was fun, Lux wished that Bay was here to work on this with her. Nothing new there though because she missed him a lot. Sighing, her gaze shifted to the pile of balloons. Here goes nothing. "ALARTE ASCENDARE," she called out as she brandished her wand at one of them.
SPLAT!!
The center of her target got splattered with purple paint.
YAAAAAAAAAY!!
Happy, Lux did a little dance because wow, she had done an amazing job with that one. Time to take down another target with paint!!!

Okay so this whole trying to stare at the targets and figure out their movements thing was not working out very well... Or at all really... Erm. So Zander quickly decided to abandon that idea and go straight for the aiming thing. 'Cause apparently that's how you've got to do this kind of thing. Just go for it and hope for the best.
So the sixth year set the balloon down on the ground and got ready to aim. He was going for one of the middle targets. Only because it wasn't too ambitious but he wasn't going to stick with playing it safe either. Just enough risk to start out! Alriiiiight and READY, AIM, FIIIIIYAAAA!
"Alarte Ascendare!" he brandished his wand straight towards the balloon and it shot up in the air and oh Merlin it was gonna hit the--CELING.

Nope. That's NOT what he wanted. He also didn't want a face full of paint either, but that stuff managed to splat all over himself. Eugh.
Green was so not his color.

A ship in harbor is safe — but that is not what ships are built for.
Now purple was SOOOOOOOO her color. So even if the balloon bumped into another object and splattered paint everywhere, it would be much less ugly. Yes. She was prepared.
Natalia ambitiously eyed a moving target in the TOP row, despite this only being her second try. She waited until the target was slightly less than feet away from the spot right above her head before performing the charm.
"Alarte Ascendare!" Natalia recited with a little more force this time and watched as the balloon ascended straight for that target.
SPLAT!
TARGET HIT! WOOHOOOOOO.
Beaming in pride, Natalia hummed cheerfully as she admired the purple-paint-covered target in satisfaction. That was only her SECOND TRY. If only she could capture this GLORIOUS moment and keep it forever... This wasn't a difficult task at all! The Lioness grew a whole lot more confident as she prepared herself for the next strike.
Kace finally made his way to the Charms Annexe room. He wanted to work on his charms homework and he knew Puck was already here. She owled him to get his butt over here to have a good time. The gist was that their was water balloons filled with paint and they needed to aim the balloons at targets. Well count him in. He got his wand out of his robes and grabbed some balloons and was ready to get the show on the road. He got an open spot and was now gonna concentrate on his spell. He heard everyone say the spell they all learned in class. It was quite cool to say.
He got his wand at the ready and said, "ALARTE ASCENDARE!" and then he saw his balloon rise in the air and he prayed he didn't get paint on him. He was doing well and then he aimed it at a target and brandished his wand and it landed low on the ground missing the low target. Aahhh merlin he was close. Of course he would try again. He grinned at Puck and wondered if he could aim one of the balloons at her. He was gonna try again.
Be prepared Puck. Be very prepared for a sneak attack.

Haaaa boys in pink robes. "Well it might look lovely!" she suggested with a big grin on her face. It would be super funny to see though. Ethan put a good suggestion out there... the house elves. Of course! "Oh... I heard some of the girls in my dorm talking about... something about cobwebs?" Zhenya didn't come out of the dorm much. She was too busy studying, and hadn't actually payed any attention to the portraits.
Zhenya clapped again, "GO ETHAN!" and giggled when the blue paint dripped down onto them. Pink and blue, "Thank you," she said proudly. "And despite what you think, pink looks lovely on you!"
One more for the road? Zhenya was starting to feel quite hungry. "Sure, thanks," she said, taking the balloon and assessing a good spot to put it down. Hmmm... She put it down in a slightly different spot this time, looked up and to try and work out a good time to go, even though she was sure it didn't matter. "Alarte Ascendare!" she said, brandishing her wand. The balloon hit the target, just off centre. "WOOHOO!" she exclaimed, fist-pumping the air as red paint splatted over the target.

Puck chuckled when she watched Adi’s balloon exploding, and Lux’s was amazing. “Hey Adi, hey Lux,” she grinned over to the two as she stood there watching the moving targets. She wanted to do this well and sent smiles to the new people who entered the room. “Nice Norah,” she grinned as she saw the paint all over her face. “I think the color looks great on you,” she winked because hello? Purple hair? Awesome.
Puck grinned over to Nat and Kace as they entered the room. “Nicely done, Na-” she grinned over to Nat and was about to say hi when SPLOOSH! it was wet and thick…and PINK! Ugh.
“Kaaace,” she rolled her eyes and quickly moved her wand in an S-motion “scourgify” she cast and cleared some of the paint off of her face. Turning to him she just laughed, “I’m going to get you back Kace, someway. Somehow.” She informed and smirked over to him. Maybe she would just squash him with the whole getting points this term?
“Alarte Ascendare!” She cast and brandished her wand aiming at the top most target and waited…c’mon lets do this! She watched in awe as the paint balloon shot out from the refilling box and soared at the target.
SPLAT and look at that! It was beautiful…all teal and on the TOP tier. That was awesome. She just, couldn’t help but grin. Seee, Kace would have to wait and see what she would do in response.

Chance made his way down to the room with the targets. He had seen several painted people coming from the room so he knew this had to be it. He stepped into the entrance of the room and his eyebrows rose. Holy mess. And that's what this was. A holy mess. There was paint and balloons and moving targets. Paint dripped from several surfaces. It was a tad bit overwhelming. Good thing Chance brought his confident pants today.
He strolled into the room, careful of the flying balloons filled with paint. He saw several people he knew. He gave PUCK a big smile as he passed her. She had gotten the top target. He applauded as he passed her
Chance took a spot that wasn't so crowded. He grabbed a red balloon because obviously, red was his favorite color. Bug off, it was a brilliant color. He breathed in and out and put his confidence pants to use as he said, "ALARTE ASCENDARE" and brandished his wand. The red balloon went flying.... in the OPPOSITE direction then where he had intended it to go. It accidentally went sailing into KACE'S back. Chance couldn't help but start laughing. He was covered in red paint.

Trying to work out her next victim, Lux was momentarily distracted as a bit of a paint fight broke out between Puck, Kace, and Chance.
HAHAHA, that was awesome.
"Your back looks great covered in red paint," she told her fellow Puffer with a smile. Maybe the red represented Emmy because she was a Lion. Gryffinpuff ships were so adorable. Maybe she could cover him even more, but that was mean and Lux didn't want to be mean to one of her best friends.
Smiling, she turned her attention to the targets. They had gone back to moving horizontally. She was going to try and get another direct hit, and maybe she would try for the top row again. This shouldn't be too hard and she had already done it once even if it had been an accident. Carefully she watched the targets moved. As soon as she got a hang of their movements, she was ready to launch a balloon.
Here goes nothing, and if she succeeded, there was going to be a little dance in it. Hehe. Smiling, she brandished her wand at the balloon as soon as she felt it was the right moment. "ALARTE ASCENDARE!"
SPLATT!!
The balloon connected the right side of the target, splashing it and the others nearby with pink paint. Hahah, oh well. Maybe it hadn't been a direct hit, but she was determined to get there. Then she would do a little happy dance.
A path is not simply for walking, its purpose lies in moving forward and improving oneself.
Time for some charms training! One would think that as a former Charms student and having had the subject nearly every day that he would be bored by it. But this wasn’t the case for Yoongi. He still loved it. So when the homework was announced he went to the charms annexe after having studied Ancient Runes for an hour for his OWLS and entered the room.
He did not have his wand out yet of course although judging by how all the professors were scaring them whenever they entered the room he probably should. As vigilance. But after a quick looking around the only thing he spotted were a few students working on the charm homework and the targets high above.
Looking around some more, his dark brown eyes landed on the box of paint balloons. The fact that the Professor had chosen PAINT balloons was not fun. What If he got paint all over him? Yeah yeah he can wash it off but ewww. He did not need paint on him, he was pretty enough. One last glance towards the balloons and then Yoongi scooped a few of them in his arms and walked towards a place where he wouldn’t be bothered or bother anyone else.
Finding a spot, Yoongi stooped down to place the balloons on the ground when –SPLAT- One of the balloons with pink colored paint exploded in his arm from too much pressure. The front of his Gryffindor uniform was splattered in pink and he let out a frustrated sigh. Well, now that he had paint on him anyways….
He wanted to use the protego spell to protect him from the fallen paint but he knew that he was not advanced enough yet to keep up a powerful spell like that and use a different one at the same time. He just had to…dodge…
Grabbing his phoenix feather wand, Yoongi stood up right and looked up at the targets above him. They were moving…of course they were… As he saw the lowest target come back to right above him, he brandished his wand at the balloon “Alarte Ascendare!” The balloon shot up in to the air, missed the target Yoongi had chosen and instead hit the right side of the target on the middle row by pure luck.
He was AWESOME!
……..EEEK PAINT! He covered his arms over his head to protect his face and hair from the falling yellow paint.

OH, WOW. Wow, oh, wow. Clara hugged her back tightly, somewhat amused. "It's great to see you, too, sweetie." Evidently, today was one of Eden's extra affectionate days .... which was good as she'd been sad or feeling down far too often recently. Clara much preferred happy-Eden and she hoped she'd stick around.
Now, as for the targets, the redhead moved her gaze to where Eden was pointing and looked at them. They weren't moving particularly fast, but they were still moving. "Yeah, lower ones first," she agreed ... and it couldn't hurt to try and get a feel for the spell again. When Eden said she get started Clara nodded and took a small step out of the way. She then proceeded to scrape her hair back into a ponytail so she had one less distraction. She was already at a slight disadvantage due to recent .... things leaving her a bit shaky - she didn't trust her aim.
...............
Clara watched as Eden's balloon shot up at an angle, but stopped before it reached the target. "Not bad, though," she commented as Eden caught the balloon. "I suppose I should have a go." Not that she wanted to. After watching Eden, she felt even less confident in her own abilities. Nevertheless, she took a paint-filled balloon and positioned herself roughly underneath the target. Eden's had gone up at an angle, so obviously the spell didn't send object straight up. Deep breath. "Alarte Ascendare!" She said determinedly, pointing her wand at the balloon and watching as the balloon shot into the air. It went up, and up, and ... past the target she'd been aiming for and hit another target ....... SPLAT ... Clara moved out of the just in time, green paint covering the floor.

Okay so Benny really thought the latest charms lesson had flown by. One minute there was greetings and the next they were recovering from spell practice. Why did it seem just so off to him? Maybe cause it didn't involve flying dragons or something. Was it any wonder he only got accepable on his Charms OWL even though he thought he had been doing real well. Whatever the case, the sixth year knew he had to get the homework practice done and it probably was best he didn't wait until the last minute.
Entering the charms annex, he moved to look over the set up. He remembered reading the assignment but seeing it in person was different then just visualuzing it. It was then that he noticed Angel practicing and apparently needing assistance as she tried to get someone's attention. It certainly wasn't the incantation as she said it right. "Alarte Ascendare...Alarte Ascendare" he mused himself, getting his mouth around it again.
"Do I count as someone?" he asked, coming up beside her and coincidentally standing where she needed someone to be.
Puck sent Chance a nod back, then grinned as she heard Kace’s reaction. Hey look at that he was already covered in paint, Puck grinned and simply brandished her wand at another of the targets.
“Alarte Ascendare!” She cast and watched as the balloon flew from the box and SPLATTERED against the middle targets some of the paint dripping down onto the targets below. Okay, so this was fun actually.

A ship in harbor is safe — but that is not what ships are built for.
Third attempt.
Thus far, Natalia had earned FIFTEEN POINTS with only two tries. Determined to achieve more, Natalia mentally set a goal for herself: she must gain FIFTY points by the time completed this activity in approximately... forty-five minutes later. Yes, sounded good.
The Lioness eyed another free-to-grab moving target on the TOP row. Yes, this looked easy enough; it wasn't moving very fast and there were essentially no obstacles can could get in the way. Feeling rather self-assured, the Lioness prepared for the strike as the target moved closer to the point right above her head.
"Alarte Ascendare!" Fully expecting her balloon to the hit the target, Natalia did not see her FAILURE coming. Missing the target by a couple of inches, actually, the balloon SPLASHED bright, blue paint on the ceiling. Greeaaaat. Shrugging to shake off the feeling of defeat, Natalia mentally told herself that she just wasn't paying attention, simple as that. She was determined, once again, to succeed in her next attempt.

"Noooo, it won't." Ethan replied chuckling at Zhenya. They'd be teased, definitely, but if the Headmistress willed it, the pink robe is not impossible. Bahaha! The younger Slytherin nodded however, confirming the cobweb business. "Saw some house-elves cleaning the portraits the other day. How they got so dirty in a short period of time is quite...suspicious." Right? He was sure that the house-elves were doing their job very well, and he was sure that they will never slack off from their duties...
After hitting the target, Ethan raised his hands once more and welcomed the blue paint with open arms. "Vic'tryyy!!!" Hehehe. Oh, and really? "If that's the case, I should let Ruby experiment on my nails. I know she's into painting her nails and what not." Well, why not? Boys do put nail paint on their fingernails yeah? He'd seen wrockstars don it.
Ethan grinned at the older Snake as he handed the paint balloon to her, and as soon as she propelled the balloon in the air, Ethan did too, and hoped that it will hit any target. "Alarte Ascendare!"
SPLAT!
And it did! Lucky. "Yuuus! Vic'try is ourrsss!" Ethan skipped around the room as orange paint showered him. "That was fun." he said as he kept away his wand and removed the hood from his head. "Thanks for hanging around, Z." GRIN. Homework's always fun when you've got company. One doesn't look ridiculous that's for sure. "Let's go get dinner, shall we?" Ethan asked. "I'll race ya!" And off he zoomed out of the room.

Angel hadn't seen Benny, had he just come in or was she just blind and missed her boyfriend. "Oh yeah!" Angel jumped up and down. "You'll do perfectly." Angel giggled, she had missed him and was wondering where he had been hiding since the start of term feast.
"Thanks!" Angel beamed. "And guess what you in the right place, at the right time." Angel then whispered something as she turned away. "or wrong place depending on the way you look." Angel turned back towards Benny. "Okay I'm ready."
*deep breath*
"Alarte Ascendare!" Angel did the wand movement and then watched as the balloon missed the target. "Eh Benny!" Angel had a funny feeling that the balloon was heading his way but would he realise in time or was he going to get covered in paint. "Eh Benny!" That was all she could see, she was trying to warn him but nothing was coming out.
Let your light shine || Be the sun || You're important. Always.
The red paint was all over Kaces back. Chance was grinning from ear to ear. He hadn't meant to I'd it but it was still hilarious. He grabbed another balloon. "Dont even think about it Kace!" He stated before lining himself back up with a target.
Chance looked at his target again, ignoring Lal the commotion and splats and yells coming from each and every direction. He looked and concentrated. He needed to hit the target. He WANTED to hit the target. Gritting his teeth, he said the incantation again and brandished his wand. This time, the balloon went sailing into the target. Right smack dab in the middle of it too.
YAYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!
Chance did a little excited happy dance. He had hit the target!! Yes!!
CLARA WAS HEREEEEE. Eden LUNGED at her friend and just clung and snuggled her and UGH all the love EVER for Clara Wilde. "Hiiiiii...." you know, as if Eden hadn't see her this morning or anything. But she was feeling extremely affectionate right now.
"Indeed-" she tapped Clara's head playfully and shrugged. "No issue. We have to hit those targets--" she pointed upwards. "With these guys--" she held up her paint filled balloon. "I guess we should start with the lower ones, yeah? And they move so...we might get full of paint." Eden smirked and set her balloon on the ground. "I'll get started..."
Ahem.
She cleared her throat..."Alarte Ascendare--" she cried, pointing her wand at the balloon and watching it shoot up, quickly...but she didn't quiiiiiite reach even the lower target, and even if it had reached it, the target moved out of the way at the last second. Eden scoped underneath it and held out her arms for the balloon as it fell back down...
Well then.
She glanced at Clara, eyebrow raised. "This might be haaaaarder than it looks." But she had gotten it in class...using Hugh...
She looked at her friend in silence.
Eden watched Clara try to shoot her balloon up into the air and...WHOOH. "YEAH!" she cried happily, holding up her hand for a high five. "You hit one! I mean--not the one you were aiming for but--that's OKAY--" she beamed and felt so PROUD of the best friend.
She hopped out of the way of the green paint and grinned..."This reminds me of the paint fight we had the first week of school--" had Clara gone? Eden couldn't remember, but the entire Ravenclaw house had been invited. Her team had NOT won. Hmph. "All right--this time--it's my turn--" she wiggled her bum in anticipation and set her balloon on the ground once more. It looked like it might be purple paint...it was a purple balloon? So probably purple paint.
"ALARTE ASCENDARE!" she cried, the spell shooting from her wand tip and into the balloon, causing it to SHOOT right up, straight, and splattering against Eden's intended target. Thank Merlin the target hadn't moved. Purple paint sprinkled down, and Eden giggled and closed her eyes as some of it got into her hair...
"Purple highlights...for my blue hair?" she smirked and posed. "How do I looooook?" she mocked a posh accent and tried her best to look DASHINGLY handsome....or something.
hehehe. HEHEHEHE.

[QUOTE=ChanceCoeur;11757228]The red paint was all over Kaces back. Chance was grinning from ear to ear. He hadn't meant to I'd it but it was still hilarious. He grabbed another balloon. "Dont even think about it Kace!" He stated before lining himself back up with a target.

As Kace was still on the fact that he got hit with a water balloon filled with red paint. He was still shocked Chance did that. Man that lion was gonna get it. First he heard Lux's comment and he rolled his eyes playfully. "Gee thanks, would you like some I mean I could do this.." he said stepping closer to her and trying to smear her cheek with red paint from his finger. He wanted to hear her squeal for help. He stopped when he heard Chance's comment and thought of it as a challenge. "It is soo on Chance! You will get my revenge soon." he smirked deeply. Actually sooner than you think Chance.
Now onto the task at hand. He still needed to practice the charm to keep Professor Maddox pleased. Now with his wand covered in red paint, he aimed at the target and said, "ALARTE ASCENDARE!" and then he saw it fly in the air and he flicked his wand and it hit the center of the target with blue paint gushing everywhere. I think that was successful. Then he smirked and saw Chance was standing just mere steps from him. He grabbed the balloon and threw it at him and wondered how he was gonna react with the back of his pants being covered in blue paint. He snickered loudly.

Zhenya just snorted. He was probably right. Zhenya pondered this new information for a while. How had she missed it? Obviously her nose in a book didn't help but she should have gone to investigate it sooner. In fact, after dinner she would have a look around and see if she could Sherlock the problem. Speaking of, then she could get started on the second book. Well, after she finished her study for the night. Maybe she'd start the book tomorrow...
She was awoken from her thoughts as Ethan suggested Ruby painting his nails. She laughed again and nodded, "It would look beautiful," she joked. But it might, he never knew. And his balloon hit the target, and she cheered for him, laughing hard as he ran around the room getting painted in splatters.
Her tummy grumbled again. "Yeah it was a lot of fun," she added, very happy indeed. A big smile on her face. Z? Had a bit of a catch, didn't it. "It was my pleasure," she said, "Thanks for making it so much fun." She was about to run and try and chase him and win, but the thought of the house elves cleaning cobwebs from the portraits, AND cleaning her mess of paint from the ceiling just didn't sit well with her. "I'll be there in a few seconds," she said, looking up to the splatters of green, yellow, red, blue, white, and pink. She pointed her wand up at the ceiling, "Scourgify," she said, swirling her wand in an S shape. A chunk of paint disappeared, but plenty still remained. "Scourgify," she said again, 'S'-ing her wand. After a few more goes the paint had been cleaned from the ceiling and Zhenya felt less worried knowing she had at least cleaned up her mess. With that thought she turned and ran down to the Great Hall, hoping to beat Ethan along the way.
