Whether it was following the fluttering little wings or simply walking into this place by accident, you've now come to the butterfly garden. It's a small little paradise somewhere along the grounds but for some reason the garden keeps changing location, sometimes appearing closer to the lake while at other times one might swear it was a stone's throw from the wooden bridge. Wherever you've managed to stumble upon it, you're here now and so are its inhabitants.
The Butterfly Garden didn't get it's name for no reason. Throughout the year different species of butterflies can be seen floating about save for winters where the entire garden appears to be asleep.
There is a wooden bench or two located in the garden for those who would like to have a seat and take in the scenery as well as a wide array of vibrant flowers that leave you oddly captivated. See to it that you do not disrupt the balance in here.
This time, Cosgrach was really astounded. but of course, she was an innocent Ravenclaw. He sighed, looked into her eyes gravely and said "Sophie," he began as if she was 5 years old, "people believe the power. House Cup matters a lot. Besides, I don't think they're brave enough to call it to my face even if they do believe you." He shrugged casually. He won this no matter what, see? Perks of being born some 30 years before her.
"You gonna pick up your wrapper?" HMM? It wasn't his wrapper, oh no, and she was the only person in the vicinity. Although, he had to admit, their both denying it was much more fun than her just picking it up.
Ugh. Why was he looking at her like that? And talking to her like she was a child? Sophie pursed her lips as he spoke and crossed her arms in front of her indignantly.
"Do I need to remind you that people aren't as scared of you as they used to be? They like you and know you're a teddy bear, word's gotten out about that enough through the Aparecium and stuff. They wouldn't be afraid of going against you either. I'm a leader, professor, people naturally flock to me. S'just the way it is."
HER wrapper? Puh-lease. When was he going to give up this game? Well, she wasn't going to cave first. But she WOULD defy him a bit more - Sophie DID indeed pick up the wrapper, but then she balled it up again and tossed it right at his chest.
Pffft that hardly mattered. Cosgrach just kept eyeing her. "That doesn't matter. You can't give detention." Not to mention she wasn't a Slytherin either. Everyone knew not to anger Slytherins. It was just the way it was, like she put it.
Oh, would you look at that. She was picking it up -
-_______________-
"Five points off Ravenclaw!" he exclaimed, "I would expect better from you, Miss Brown. Not only are you accusing me of littering, but you are also cheeky enough to throw it at me." He frowned deeply and folded his hands.
FIVE POINTS? For joking around with him? Wow, Culloden. Wow.
The smile and teasing expression on her face was wiped clean, and Sophie's eyebrows furrowed as she looked at him with betrayed, hurt eyes. Was he really going to punish her over something HE did? He wasn't even going to take responsibility for something HE had done, and he was going to get upset with her for standing up to him? For standing up for what was RIGHT?
Wasn't there... some kind of life lesson there about standing up for what was right, even if it meant defying authority?
No, it didn't seem so.
"Fine," she said, but her tone wasn't indignant - it was disappointed and soft and made her seem very small, and without giving the situation another thought, she turned to leave the butterfly garden.
. . . wasn't she smiling? What was that in her eyes - hurt? But what for? For something as silly as five points? Five points changed nothing in the race and - UGH, he didn't understand. Instead, he vanished the stupid wrapper and turned to leave while sulking.

Letting go of Marsha's hand, he hopped up on one of the benches nearby so he could get a better look of the garden.
"Maybe a Chinese fireball dragon. For sure."
Marsha grinned, swinging her arm back and forth with Lance as they moved through the Butterfly garden. ”Birds would live longer…” Mostly, unless nature got to them… There she was, back at the sadness. MOVIIIIIING on. Hehe. DRAGONS. ”Yes. Dragons. Dragons would win... But! Griffins!” Griffins though, were awesome too, they could fly and weren’t QUITE as dangerous as Dragons…
But Dragons.
But Griffins.
BUT BUTTERFLIES!
Marsha couldn’t and wouldn’t decide on a favourite flying animal, ever. There was no way that she would, and she didn’t need to either… not really.
OH BENCH! Marsha grinned as they both hopped up onto it. Now THEY were as tall as Dragons… okay, maybe not but she WAS like TEN FEET TALL NOW! How cool was this.
Pausing, ignoring Lance by mistake, she looked around the garden again. It looked so much better up here. WOAH. It was bright and colourful and AMAZING. OH TO BE TALL!

Not minding the silence that followed their excitement, he placed his hands on his hips and stared around, nodding to himself. Yup, it was nice. Though it was tempting to go back and retrieve Lady, he was enjoying being tall for a moment.
Nice, deep breath.
Aaaand that was enough standing in one spot for him.
"Have you explored the rest of the grounds yet?" Were there cool THINGS? HMM??

He laughed. "I'll take your word for it.'' A stack of cucumber sandwiches would be nice for her as a surprise. Yep, he'd make her a few sometime himself. Just because she was such a great friend. Shhh! Don't tell her anything. Adi cautiously leaned towards the butterfly. "I'm not sure but it looks like he is.'' Wit those tiny mouth parts, he couldn't be sure if to call the action eating since he couldn't see properly. "But I reckon if he didn't like it, he would have flown off my now.''
Standing back normally again, the boy asked, ''Sooo, are you going to stay here all day, Lux? If you plan to, I can bring your part of the two way mirror and some cucumber sandwiches for you.'' Hehe. That way she wouldn't be lonely nor hungry and she could show Bay his namesake.
Hehe. "Good idea." Lux winked at Adi then laughed while trying not to disturb Bay Butterfly. "Well, Chocolate Frogs ARE good and he does love to eat." She did too, so that was definitely one of the things that they had in common. "I bet he would have flown away if it was a cucumber." Bay did not like cucumbers.
Oooh. Was she going to stay here all day? Good question, Adi. "That sounds like a very good idea to me!" But she wasn't sure how she could eat and use a two-way mirror without scaring off her butterfly. Hmmm, that was a dilemma.

Marsha had moved up onto her tip-toes just seconds before Lance had started speaking to her again. Feeling a little wobbly, she held her hand out and grabbed on to Lance’s forearm. There. He would always steady her hehe.
”Some of it - but not all of it… it’s huge!”, and although she could run she was still little. Unfortunately. SIGH. According to her Tad, her biological mum (not her ACTUAL Mam, you understand) had always been very short. So, she had apparently received most of her genes. Hair colour and thickness, eye colour, skin tone, height. At least she liked that part… even if it meant she didn’t look like her Mam or her Tad.
Ahem.
Looking to Lance she slanted her head slightly. ”Why? What were you thinking? Where could we go?” Where COULDN’T they go. Maybe that was a quicker question. Hehehe.

"No wonder he was looking fat the last time I saw him,'' Adi joked. Which had been Bay's very last trip on the Hogwarts Express back to King's Cross. Gosh! It HAD certainly been a while since he had seen the older boy. "I don't blame him. Cucumber sandwiches sound so healthy! There's so sugar in those.''
"Nope, nope. You can't stay out here all day. The sun will burn you to a crisp! I know you want to stay here all day because of this butterfly.'' Eyes on you Bay Butterfly, for making Lux wanting to stay here. "Maybe you can leave the chocolate somewhere for him and his friends to finish off.'' That is, if Butterfly Bay did not mind sharing.

Was it really that big? REAALLY? Hmm?
Taking a deep breath and puffing out his chest a little, he stared across the gardens and to the vast open fields of the grounds. No inch of the grounds will go unexplored! They will conquer it all... by nightfall.
"Yea, totally mind-reader," he said, letting go of the breath he held. He'd explored bits of it on his downtime, and they did run across EVERYWHERE pretty much trying to find this garden, so there shouldn't be THAT much more of the grounds they hadn't seen, right?? "Come on," he hopped down from the bench, "My grandpa told me there was a secret passage somewhere on the grounds. Haven't found it yet though."

It was finally starting to warm up, and AJ needed some time outside of the castle. Homework had been insane and she was going stir crazy. She couldn't look at four walls anymore. She just couldn't.
There wasn't anywhere in particular that she wanted to go, so she wandered around aimlessly outside. Do, da de, OH. Something caught her attention. Something that she had never noticed before. This was why you couldn't stay locked up in the castle. You were bound to miss things.
Butterflies, and really pretty bushes were everywhere. AJ moved closer to see what else she might have missed while being a good girl. Blergh! That was so not fun!

Marsha watched him curiously as he surveyed THEIR land. King and Queen of the castle they were, look how TALL they were! Grinning, she watched him puff out his chest and she just managed to resist poking it to deflate it. Hehehe. Poking was mean. Most of the time.
Jumping back to the ground, Marsha sighed as she felt small again. Bye Castle, I’ll be back! she thought as she followed after Lance. ”Oh, really? That’s so cooool!” Skipping through the garden, Marsha grinned at Lance.
”Do you have any idea where it is? Or where it goes?” Cause that would totally help them find it. Just saying.
