Study Cushions A section in the spacious, earthy, cozy common room arranged especially for the intention of studying and/or homework activities. If you need a partner for homework, this will be the best place to get one, too! A few couches scatter, not necessarily facing each other since chatting isn't encouraged when you're figuring out an Arithmancy problem for example, and a few tall chairs around a couple of tables for those with a clumsy handwriting. Please be respectful to each other, and don't forget to help those in need of assistance! Good luck! |
Divination Homework #1 Post 1 After deciding to work on her Divination Homework with Adi, Leah made her way back to the Study Cushions. Sure, they were going to be eating and making a lot of stomach noises, but it still counted as STUDY. Oooh, she was early! The Hufflepuff sat down on a couch and made herself comfortable before looking inside her bag for food. Or anything edible, really. She did zero preparation beforehand, but that did not mean that she could not complete the Homework. As expected, she had a bar of chocolate. Smiling, Leah added the potion in and left it on the table. She was tempted to eat it herself, but knew better than to do it. This was for ADIII. She turned her attention away from the chocolate and pulled out her Divination book. Time to review her notes! |
Divination Homework 1- Post 1 SPOILER!!: Le-Le-Leah!<3 Adi entered the Hufflepuff Common Room after making a quick trip to the Kitchen. It was truly bliss that the two were situated in close proximity. House elves and FOOD! Who didn't like those? Anyway... Leah. Where was Leah? Adi scanned the room, in the process smiling at some of his Puffers. Oh, there she was! Clutching the cup of hot chocolate already spiked with the gas potion (though he and Leah had already agreed to do the Divination homework together so it was no secret that the beverage contained the potion), the sixth year made a beeline for his friend at the study cushions. "Hi, Leah! I've got this for you.'' He held out the cup with the handle facing her. "Ready to disturb the others?" he asked jokingly as he flopped down beside the girl. Adi flipped open his text book to the page they had used in the previous class as his eyes landed on the chocolate. EEEEP! "Chocolate for me? Oh, Leah! You shouldn't have!'' Here's the goofy Adi for you! |
Divination Homework #1 Post 2 SPOILER!!: Aaadi! :D Leah looked up just in time to see Adi making his way to where she was. With a cup of hot beverage in his hands. She hoped it was something good because she had CHOCOLATE in exchange. She knew the food did not matter as long as they completed their Homework, but y'know, she was hungry anyway. She smiled as she took the cup from him. Oooh, hot chocolate! Niiice. "Adi! Awww, thank you," she took a deep breath and got a whiff of chocolate from the drink. YUMMY. "Of course," she laughed. The Fifth Year took a sip of her probably-already-spiked-with-potion hot chocolate. ... It was HOT. The realization made Leah spill a tiny bit of her drink onto her book. Ooops. A quick Scouring Charm and a muttered apology got that cleared. The Puff Prefect seemed excited at the sight of chocolate. "Oh, do you not want it?" she pretended to take it back. Hehe. "Should we use the Amplifying Charm?" she asked, serious once more. One more caaareful sip. Yep. |
Divination Homework 1- Post 2 SPOILER!!: LEAH! <3 Yay! Leah obviously liked the hot chocolate Adi had thought to get her. And it seemed she was a little TOO excited for the treat because she spilt a bit. But she took care of that in no time. Adi, on the other hand, wanted his nommy chocolate. "You're welcome,'' he said, his eyes remained fixed on the thing. "No, I want. Thank you as well.'' With a grin, he ripped open the wrapper and took a bite. Om nom nom. Amplifying Charm? For a moment Adi forgot he was supposed to be doing homework. Hehe. "Yes. Though if you want to use stethoscopes, I wouldn't mind.'' Bite, chew, swallow! Another piece to be digested! "At this rate you'll have gas to get started on your readings, Leah.'' Hehe. Adi was already halfway through the chocolate bar. "I can feel stuff moving around my stomach...'' Then it would be through his intestines and then out in the open! He seriously hoped Leah wouldn't be too grossed out by him. |
Divination Homework #1 Post 3 SPOILER!!: ADIII :3 Hellooo? Leah was tempted to wave her hands in front of Adi's eyes to see if he was frozen. He did seem so, the way he could not take his eyes off the bar of chocolate at all. There, he unfroze when he got to eat it. She laughed as she said with a rather shaky voice, "you're welcome as well." She took another sip of her hot chocolate again. It was not as hot anymore. It also meant that it did not taste as good, but at least she did not burn her tongue. OPTIMISM. "Nah, I would prefer the Charm too." It was too much effort to run up to the Divination Tower just to get the stethoscopes anyway. The Puff drank from the cup once more, and this time felt the liquid digesting inside her. The process was probably different from actual food, but it felt pretty much the same. It seemed that the older boy was experiencing something similar. "Ughhh, me too. I will listen to you first?" It was more like a statement than a question. So she pulled out her notebook and quill and directed her wand at his stomach when she was all prepared. "Sonorus!" Time to listen to some stomach noises! |
Divination Homework 1- Post 3 SPOILER!!: Leaaah!<3 Great! The Charm it was! As Adi finished up the last of his chocolate (Don't mind him. He was rather hungry right now) Wheeee! And he was feeling gassy tooooo. Professor Cassie sure gave them some strong stuff to mix in with the food of choice. "Go ahead,'' he told Leah happily. "As soon as you're done, I'll listen to yours.'' The sixth year relaxed on the couch as Leah cast the charm. Right now he was going to relax and let his stomach do the talking (and it seemed to be doing a lot). But that bit of gas from earlier seemed to be moving right along his intestines. Before long it would be out in the open...HEHE... Sure enough... Adi let a healthy fart out... POOOOOOOOOOT! |
Potions Project - First Potion Potion in hand, Lux made her way to the Common Room. She had stopped by the kitchen and got some strawberries from the house elves. Since she didn't particularly like the fruit, she had only taken a few in a small bowl. Time to try out the Antillergen Potion, and of course she already knew that it would work. Not only was Professor Culloden a gifted Potions Master, but she had brewed the potion herself a few times. It just didn't seem to be worth the effort half the time though she was more than willing to brew it for her friends. Sitting down on one of the chairs, Lux set the bowl of strawberries down on the table in front of her. Reaching into her bag, she extracted the potion sample and eyed it for a second before removing the stopper. Here goes nothing. "Bottoms up!" She managed to swallow it all in one mouthful. |
Divination Homework #1 Post 4 SPOILER!!: Adiii! xD Leah watched the last of her chocolate disappear and smiled. It must taste really good! Or Adi was hungry. Either way, she felt happy hehe. With the Sonorus Charm cast on him, she listened carefully for any sound. It appeared that she did not have to pay much attention, because his stomach began gurgling quickly. She recorded notes on what she was hearing... though there was not much to write as per now. Come on, Adi's stomach, do something interesting! Sure enough, a loud noise was let out. Leah grinned and shifted towards one end of the couch, pretending to be disgusted. Maaaybe she was a bit grossed out? "Ewww, Adi. You should have warned me or something. Well, at least it smells like chocolate!" Juuust kidding. She quickly added four letters to the end of her observations. SPOILER!!: Notes When she was finished, the girl read the meanings of stomach sounds again. "So, you are possibly worried about something in the future," she looked up, wondering if this was true. "BUT you are not a stressed person. That bit I know. You will be able to handle this!" Thumbs up. Now it was her turn to be tested. She quickly finished her drink, not letting the tiniest bit of liquid stay in the cup OR drop again. Upon getting the Charm cast on herself this time, she tried to relax. No need to be tense. So she burped out loud. Oops. "Ahem. Sorry." Please continue. |
Potions Project - First Potion That hadn't been too bad. Now it was time for the harder part. Allergy symptoms or no allergy symptoms, she got squeamish just LOOKING at the fruit. It didn't help that so much as touching them normally caused her to break out into hives. She didn't even want to THINK about what they did to her mouth and throat. Carefully she reached into the bowl and picked one up. Unsurprisingly no skin irritation was caused. Thank Merlin, it had worked. Satisfied, Lux popped the fruit into her mouth and chewed. No swelling of the lips, tongue, and throat. Yessss. She was good to go which meant she wouldn't have to avoid strawberries like the plague for the next while. |
HoM HW Norah curled up in the corner of one of the study couches with her illuminated manuscript spread open on her lap. She flipped through the pages one by one 'cause the sparkles looked cool in the light down here, smiling to herself because yeah okay, maybe she was a little bit proud. It didn't really matter that her drawings didn't all look like what she'd meant them to be, because they still LOOKED pretty awesome and that was good enough for her. Plus, sparkles. So it was all good. As much as she'd wanted to color some more, the fourth year opted instead to write. Yeah, it was a SHOCK to her too. She had to do something to show some kind of maturity, right? Maybe? It was an almost-fifteen-year-old thing, probably. She'd picked out her favorite purple ink for this one and everything, so it had to be the real deal. With a small frown of concentration, she went back to a page with only a border and dipped her quill in the ink, moving slowly to make sure she didn't drip all over her drawings. Didja see that? Her mum would be SO PROUD. Being clean all by herself, man oh man it was practically a miracle. Chewing on her lip, she brought her quill down and began to write. SPOILER!!: entry 1, prompt #1 |
HoM Homework Toby had managed to accidentally claim half of one of the couches over the course of the entire term. At first he always sat in the same place, just out of habit, but eventually he started to realise that other people seemed to intentionally leave that seat free. He didn't know if it was because they thought he'd decided it was his, or if it was just a sort of... unspoken thing... a Hufflepuff tendency to notice other people's habits and preferences and subconsciously cater to them. He knew HE did that for other people, when he stopped to think about it. Either way, point was, he had a usual seat at the study cushions in the common room, and that was where he was sat now. Generally speaking, History of Magic was one of the two subjects that Toby did less well in (three if you counted Defence Against the Dark Arts, because he'd definitely fluked that OWL), though he still managed to scrape an E in it, and that was absolutely fine with him. It was usually just... difficult, remembering all those facts and dates and names and everything, though his NEWT study this year had sort of focused on that a little bit and was much better. In any case, this homework wasn't about all that, thank Merlin, but was more about HIM and HIS history, which was... well. It was easier to remember, that was the bright side. Toby settled back on the couch and opened his personal and as yet blank (other than the illustrations) illuminated manuscript on his knees, regarding the homework assignment that he'd copied down from the noticeboard across the room, chewing his lip thoughtfully. Some of the prompts he was going to steer well clear from, but that first one looked doable enough. The Hufflepuff fidgeted again in his seat to get comfortable, loaded up his quill with ink from the pot which balanced precariously on the arm of the couch, and got to writing. SPOILER!!: Book; Prompt #1 He'd managed to get a little carried away with it, but what was new, right? Wouldn't be homework without Toby writing twice as much as he needed to, purely because he'd got sidetracked. He left the ink to dry for a moment, and piled up his books and other assignments. A break, that's what he needed. To maybe go get a drink or a snack. Toby closed the book thing again and stood up, stretching out his back. First, he needed to go put this somewhere safe in his dorm before he lost it, then... food. Good plan. |
