| | Stained Glass Windows It's a known fact that fire and paper isn’t a good combination. The library has therefore always featured a sparse number of torches on the walls to minimize the danger to the books. On test this year the torches have been replaced by enchanted firefly lamps. A good number of stained glass windows grace the walls at regular intervals where the room is connected to the outside wall of the castle to ensure that adequate light comes in. Stretching from floor to ceiling these windows depict famous witches and wizards from history, important historical events and beautifully detailed magical creatures or at least that is what you should see.
Come sit down and relax in one the cushioned window seats. Read a book under the warm gaze of a healer or the roaring growl of a dragon. According to legend work gets completed faster if you sit in Rowena Ravenclaw’s window so why not try if there is any truth to it? The glass in the windows can’t be broken by spells or physical force but please be mindful and respectful of the beautiful artwork. Remember to keep your voice down since many people come to the library to study or get a moment or two of quiet. |

The brunette grinned and turned the book towards Maggie so she could see the picture. "I was thinking my daughter might like a turtle. I could see her being able to look after one better than say, a crup or something." An inspired idea.
Of course it was. Hmpf. Well at least Professor Moxley seemed to like her again. Judging by the smile. Maggie couldn't afford to have a professor be mad at her. Not even the Muggle Studies one. "Well, I'll look into it then." Or get someone else to do it for her. But you know, same difference.
It was....a turtle.
But Maggie grinned anyway. "Aww. That's so cute." She even took a few steps closer. SO cute. Mhm. Totes. "Oh. How old is your daughter, Professor?"
Since they were, you know, talking and all. |

Since they were, you know, talking and all. "Brilliant! I expect your findings by the end of the week, then. I do hope that your researching skills are up to par." As her manners didn't quite seem to be. Still, this just meant she didn't have to research herself which she appreciated. Lucky Maggie had come over all sassy-like after all! "My daughter is eight. Rebecca, or Becky to me, is quite fond of all creatures but is a bit absent minded..." As eight year olds tended to be. Moxley chuckled, shaking her head. "But she does want a pet and I think her father wouldn't object to one of these." Because they seemed easy enough to care for and to feed. Plus the whole having a aquarium thing meant less chance it'd get lost under Becky's bed.

This was starting to sound like a homework assignment. Maggie was going to have to find a gullible first year quickly then. Preferably a Ravenclaw. Hmm. Maybe Kyroh could help her find one of those. Or Dima. She was probably going to ask Kyroh though. Yeah. That. "Certainly, Professor." For now Maggie just smiled and nodded.
Eight. Right. By now Maggie had moved to sit down in a chair close to Professor Moxley's. Totally interested and all that. Saying that a turtle wasn't exactly a PET would be rude, so she didn't. "I'm sure that's a great idea. Turtles seem-" Uhm. "-quite easy to handle too." That. "And they're cute." She nodded to the book in the woman's hand. |

Moxley nodded her head enthusiastically, flipping through the book to show more pictures of the shelled creatures. "The fact that they live quite long helps, as well. All in all, I'm finding I like them more as an option each second we talk about them." Perhaps for Rebecca's next birthday. Speaking of, she should probably run this by the husband before she forgets. "Well, Ms. Traulton, I think this is where I leave you to your work. I do hope no one else disturbs you, though if they do, be sure to look at who you're talking to before you speak."
