The Snakes sit under a brand new silver and green banner representing their house. Their solid, shiny wooden table is nicely polished with all the place settings perfectly set. It was once said that the Hogwarts House Elves are the best in the world. It is up to your stomach to agree... but surely it will! Why wouldn't it like elf cooking?
If you're thirsty, there is also fresh pumpkin juice and water on the table, regardless of whether or not it is actually mealtime.

"Is pancakes all that matter right now to you?" She teased.
Hearing his laughter made her smile as she glanced over at him before taking a seat at the table. "A gazelle? Heck no! Do I look like one to you?" She questioned tilting her head slightly at him before she giggled. "I was simply meaning that I know you'd be able to find me without little to no trouble at all cause you know me so well." Actually he was like the only person that knew her this well other then her parents and Jaxon back home and then again maybe even that boy wasn't as good as he used to be. "However I like being a snake even if it does mean I can take down a lion." She winked playfully at him after that comment. It was something she'd never do, Zeke was to good of a friend.
Zeke was only too happy to comply, so when she started walking, he followed in tow, his arm not leaving her shoulders until they were where they needed to be. The Slytherin table. It didn't come as a surprise to him, it was the only place that they'd sat at together where eating was concerned, in fact, with all the times he moved about, he seldom ate at the Gryffindor table. Whoops? He would never regret visiting friends though, it was worth it. "Mmm... it's what matters to my stomach right now," he clarified with a solemn nod. There were other things that could trump his hunger, but right now they were only echoes in his mind.
Did she LOOK like a gazelle? Was this a trick question?
"No," he stated VERY clearly. No she did NOT. That was the right answer, yes?
And right right right right right... he DID know her so well. "Of course, I knew that," he covered.
He smirked a little when she teased about liking being a snake for reasons such as taking down lions. It was quite SOMETHING to imagine.
"What are you in a mood for?" he asked as he stopped, his arm dropping from her shoulder and pulling away as he slid himself onto the bench at the table. FOOD! Of course, she was welcome to serve herself, and in fact, that was probably for the best as he was now busy constructing his STACK. Careful layers of pancakes with lashings of butter AND syrup in between EACH layer.

"Well it has been what twelve hours since dinner last night?" She replied with a small nod. That was a really long time when you're still growing and in a castle this size walking about ALL DAY! So really she could understand what he meant about needing to eat.
Still looking at him while he gaze his answer she couldn't help but laugh once more with how quickly he gave a 'No'. Clearly he knew what he was supposed to say even when she was messing about by asking the question in the first place.
His smirk for her snake comment was of course only met by a matching one of her own.
"Um I don't really know... coffee would be good though..." She replied with a small shrug as she felt his arm drop from her shoulders, her own arm having moved from his waist when she sat. Iced coffee. Flavored iced coffee like vanilla to be exact. It was something she had taken to during the summers and luck enough for her there was a spell for it if she really wanted it enough.
Food though. What did she want...Shifting slightly in her seat she carefully spooned some eggs onto the plate followed a slice of toast and some bacon. That would work. A sideways glance at Zeke made her grin at him. "I'm sure you stomach will be thanking you for all that soon."

Indeed, dinner had happened LONG ago... that being said, he'd had numerous snacks since. It was actually a shame that his stash of cauldron cakes were no more. He needed to stock up again. "Mmmm," he murmured, concurring with her statement. Food needed to get in his belly, and NOW. "I think we need another meal between classes, or have midnight snacks delivered to our dorms."
Thankfully his pancake stack was nearing completion.
He managed to tear his eyes away from his masterpiece at the mention of coffee. "You drink coffee?" Since when was that a thing? He hadn't developed much of a liking for it yet, his needed lots of sugar and chocolate or cinnamon sprinkles when he endured one - and usually this was because there was nothing else accessible. He had learned one thing though, that British coffee really wasn't that bad at all, the stuff they had in Prague was far too strong and gritty for his liking.
With food on both their plates, Zeke took a SHORT moment to admire his work before stabbing his fork through the top and slicing off a sliver of the soft fluffy pancakes. He wasn't quite sure what Hady meant by her comment, but she wasn't wrong. It WOULD be VERY thankful. He nodded, chewing the food and moving it about his mouth before swallowing.
YUM.
"Breakfast foods are my favourite type of foods next to cake." Did she know? If not, she did now.

Midnight snacks delivered to the dorms? Now that might be a good idea! Hady thought about that and quickly nodded her agreement. "That would be a good idea, seeing as just the stairs alone here could wear someone out in no time." Especially a first year. Those stairs could be a killer.
Picking up a butter knife and scrapping a bit of butter onto it she lightly spread the butter to her toast before glancing over at him when she felt his eyes on hers. "Uh yes?" She answered in the form of a question wondering if it was such a bad thing. Maybe he just didn't think she was the coffee type or wasn't fond of the stuff himself. "Not like coffee, coffee were it's all strong and you have to pour a half cup of sugar into it just so it's bearable." Hady took a bite of toast then, chewed and swallowed it before continuing. "I mean like iced coffee, cappuccino and frappe's. The sweet stuff with whipped cream and syrup." The stuff that could give you a sugar rush.
Being quite content with nibbling at some bacon for the moment the small break of silence didn't bother her in the least. His comment of cake though drew her attention once more. "Of course I know of your love for cake how could I not? Cake and chocolate, right?"

The stairs, that WAS a good reason why food should be room service instead of a HELP YOURSELF.. though he wouldn't object to both by any means. "Do you reckon we could ask the house elves?" They seemed pretty eager to please, and frankly he didn't care if he was the only one in the castle with room service, it would totally be worth it. This was very quickly making its way onto his to-do list for the day.
Taking another bite of his stack, he watched as Hady buttered her toast. It seemed weird, people their age drinking coffee, at least, HE thought it was weird. Then again, Hady quickly redeemed herself with the whole sugar aspect, sounded more normal that way. "Oooohhhh," he mused after swallowing. "That sounds a lot better, I never really got the whole coffee thing, but my mum drinks HEAPS of it." Legit, she was like a bottomless pit where the black watery substance was concerned. Gross. "A lot of people in law enforcement drink it too, I remember delivering some when I got to visit there in the summers." And what a crazy time that was. He'd have thought it would be much the same where he was, but the atmosphere at his mums work was far less social and far more... well... something OTHER.
He cut another corner off his stack.
A small smile lifted the corners of his mouth as he loaded his fork and tried to soak up more syrup from the plate. He knew she knew about cake, Merlin, he wouldn't have been surprised if the whole school knew about his fondness for cake... but then there was breakfast, and of course she was right, chocolate! "Yep," he agreed before shoving the fork in his mouth, only to end up speaking through his food.... whoops. "I--I'll neeevaaahhh pa-pass it up." Nope. Never say no to anything cakey or chocolatey.

Ask the house elves? Well she hadn't really been considering that but sure why not, they could give it a go. "I suppose we could. The worst that could happen is that they say no." At least they'd have asked and would know.
Still nibbling at her toast she chewed and swallowed once more before looking over at him. "The whipped cream and syrup makes it really sweet and something like a smoothing but not really. I practically lived off the stuff all summer long." Like almost literally. Her father had to tell her way more then once to lay off the stuff for awhile. Not her fault it was addicting though! Oh yeah he went to work with his mum during the break! "How did that go? Did you have a good time?"
Rather then be grossed out by the whole talking with food in his mouth thing, Hady did the opposite and laughed quietly shaking her head a little. Done with her toast finally she picked up her fork and began poking at bits of the egg more playing around with it then really eating. "Most people wouldn't and trust me I know your fond of the stuff."

That really was the worst case scenario, and he couldn't imagine them saying no. They really did live to serve, it made them SO happy... who was he to deny them that happiness of servitude? Hhhhmmm? Zeke nodded, content to give it a go.
He continued eating - with his mouth closed this time - as Hady explained her fondness for the iced coffee thing. It was perhaps most amusing that she lived off it for most of the summer, practically. "That's actually pretty funny, kinda, but I might have to give it a try if you think it's so good." Again, what was the worst that could happen? Unless there was poison involved he couldn't see an outcome he would be displeased with. And then there was his holiday stuff. "Yeah, it was pretty neat, I got a tour and met some cool people." Not many of them that could speak English, which was a shame, and actually pretty annoying, but at least he'd had Elijah. "They even used me for an abduction exercise thing. A team of guys kidnapped me, and then the other team of guys rescued me... it was actually really intense." He could have died, only not, because then THEY would have died for reals. In fact, it almost looked like one of them DID die during the exercise... probably just broke some bones or something. Needless to say, he enjoyed that part of his holidays.
As with most things, Hady was right. Not many would pass up cake, so it was no surprise that he wouldn't either. "True," he grinned, having successfully polished off his breakfast. Was she going to finish her food?

No more words were needed on that topic as everything was pretty much said. Just for extra clarification purposes though Hady gave a nod of her head to show she was good to give it a try as well.
"It is good. To most people anyway, I guess some just don't like it." Why they didn't she couldn't fathom honestly but whatever. All that mattered here was that SHE liked it. "I already owled my father asking him for a spell he used during the summer to change drinks into iced coffee and such. I don't know if he'll send it as when I asked before returning for the term he told me no." Hady replied frowning slightly. She knew he'd only said no because then she'd drink the stuff all day long but still.
Hady had began to take small bites of her eggs as she listened to him explain about the experience he had at his mothers job. It sounded pretty cool and like a lot of fun. "Sounds like you had a good time then." She had heard him use the word 'intense' and was going to question it but changed her mind since it seemed as if they both had finished eating.
Pushing her plate aside now that she didn't want anymore she once more looked over towards Zeke. "Ready?" It was time to get on with the rest of their day and find out what lay ahead in wait for them.

If Hady liked it, and it had sweet things in it, he didn't see why HE wouldn't like it. It was casually added to his list of things to-do which he kept locked away in his memory -- hopefully this would be one he would actually remember. And now THAT was interesting, there was a SPELL for it? Interesting.
"Is it like a charm? Or is it transfiguration?" He never really could understand the difference, even after Quigley explained it to him so well the previous year, all he knew was that Transfiguration had a weird thing with food, it was a Gampy.. or Gawmpy or SOMETHING rule/law thing. "You could always ask a Professor? Or maybe even Mr. Kitridge would know?" Librarians had to know everything right? Or at least know where they could go to get the answer they were looking for? It seemed like a thing to him.
Zeke nodded, "It was, once I got over the weirdness of being there and all." It was still an adjustment, but one he was growing to like. He was actually really looking forward to the Christmas break already.
Though he was finished, he had expected Hady to want to stay and finish off her eggs... apparently not. "Yep, sure," he nodded, rising from his seat and slinging his bag over his shoulder. "Don't want to be late anyway..." classes would start without them, and he didn't much fancy losing points or getting a detention for something as lame as being late.

"Uh...honestly I'm not even exactly sure. I was so caught up in watching my father show me and then drinking the iced coffee I never asked..." she admitted with a small grin. That happened to her a lot especially when she was distracted with something else like food. Asking Mr. Kitridge was a good idea though and the man had helped her out last term with other charm work. "True, maybe I'll head to the library later on."
Hady gave him a small smile. "That's good then at least you're starting to adjust to the move and whatnot."
Since they were both ready as she wasn't really all that hungry anymore Hady slid from her spot on the bench and got to her feet. Grabbing her bag she slung it over her shoulder like normal and moved to walk at his side. "Yeah the last thing I need now is to lose points or a detention for being late..." If she were to lose points or get herself into a detention it should at least be worth it.

Cilla flopped herself down in an empty seat and looked up at the staff members at their table. She noticed a familiar red box in front of Professor Dakest. Cilla was happy that he was carrying it with him. That happiness was short lived though when she saw the box being destroyed by Flamsteed. Cilla was furious and crossed her arms and glared at the Astronomy professor. She looked at Dakest and it seemed to her that he was glad the cake was no more. Cilla was stunned.

He was going to sit at the Snakey table todaaaay! Yesh, he was. Adi happily bounded over to the looooong Table looking for familiar faces. Of course there were quite a bit of those but he spotted Cilla. He hadn't been hanging out with he much which was a bummer because she was SO awesome!

"I am furious at them!" Cilla hissed as she pointed at Airey and Dakest. "I spent time baking a coffee cake from scratch and I handmade a box which I charmed so that the cake stayed nice and fresh so it didn't have to be eaten all at once. This was a welcome present for Professor Dakest."
She paused for a moment, trying to keep her temper in check and continued.
"Now I am sorry that Professor Airey has lost his beloved pet rock but that does not give him any right to destroy the cake. What annoys me more is that Professor Dakest seems almost relieved about the state of the cake."
She furiously wiped away a tear that had made its way down her cheek.

Furious? Whyyy- ohh, that's why? Because of the Professors, huh? Honestly, Adi had never seen Cilla angry before so it left him taken aback. So taken aback that the usually talkative Hufflepuff temporarily lost his voice and he passed of his awkwardness by looking in the direction of his Professors again.
"Oh, come on Cilla,'' he said finally deciding it was time to bring his voice back. "I doubt Professor Dakest is pleased about that. Maybe you're reading his expression wrong. It's nice of you to bake him one though.'' Dakest was a cool dude. He wouldn't be happy about one of his student's hard work being ruined. ''As for Professor Airey... he's just too lost over Pebbles, I guess. I know I would be if something happened to Gus.'' Gus was his first pet and Adi loved the toad so much.
Adi decided to switch the aspect of the conversation. "You can bake a cake from scratch? Can you bake cookies?" Hehe. Adi was always interested in the sweet stuff a everyone knew.

Dakest didn't seem keen on receiving food? "Maybe he's just being cautious,'' Adi explained. "You know, some persons are like that.'' It wasn't like Cilla was going to poison the man or anything. "Cheer up, Cilla. Have something to eat. You've got anything interesting to do today?" There was not better to way to help a friend than to try to cheer them up while trying to keep them distracted from the source of unhappiness. Adi moved plates of toast, eggs and sausages in front of his friend, snagging a piece of toast in the process. He was going to make a sandwich.
Seeee? His tactic of changing the topic worked! It was needless to say the Hufflepuff was impressed. "That's so cool! Maybe you can give me some tips to make cookies sometime. Or better yet, you can show me sometime in the Kitchen.'' Yeah! That sounded anwhole lot better! Before Adi could say anything more, Lux joined them. "Hey, Lux!'' He smiled brightly at his closest Puffer friend. "Did you know Cilla could bake all the goodies from scratch?" And did Cilla know she was in the company of two sugar obsessed persons? Hehe.

Cilla smiled and waved at Lux. She really didn't feel like retelling the story. It wasn't because of Lux but it was embarrassment of Cilla's part. Maybe she had overreacted. So Cilla simply said to Lux. "Oh, things are fine now. I got a bit emotional over a gift I made for Professor Dakest."
When Adi moved the plates of food in front of Cilla, she pushed the sausages back towards him, saying, "I am vegetarian but I think I'll have some eggs." She served herself some scrambled eggs. "Oh, I'd be happy to show you both how to make some cookies in the kitchen." Cilla said gesturing towards both Hufflepuffs.

Adi grinned at Cilla. See? She was calming down. Anger was not nice but he could understand if she felt hurt over the cake being ruined. Anywayyy, she had her two Hufflepuff friends here to keep her company. Eeeeep! Adi had not known Cilla was a vegetarian! "I'm so sorry!'' he rushed to apologise and pull the sausage plate faaaaar away from his friend. "I hadn't known.'' But he grinned. "Do you need another plate of eggs?'' In the meanwhile, he piled one piece of toast with sausages before stealing some eggs from the plate and adding those. They were then topped with another slice of toast. Yay for a sandwich!
The boy happily looked at his friends. "This sounds like a great idea, doesn't it, Lux? Cilla, who did you learn to bake from?" Maybe it was her mother? Or did she went to cooking school or something? Curious Puffer here!

The problem with joining people in the middle of a conversation was that it could be confusing at times. "All the goodies?" ...As in under the sun? Or was she missing something? If it was all the goodies in existence, Cilla had to be an amazing baker which would be amazing. "What was the gift?" And why had she been upset about it? Lux frowned slightly while hoping that nothing bad had happened.

Someone would change the tables back to their original color eventually, but she had made all if the house tables blue.
