| | Seventh Floor Corridor
The corridor just off the Grand Staircase leads to the Room of Requirement (should you know where it is); the Divination Tower; the Astronomy tower; the Gryffindor Common Room; and the Ravenclaw Common Room.
It has large windows that offer sweeping views of the Quad outside. If you'll look close enough at one of the windowsills, you'll note a little 80-year-old etching that says RIP FW.

Damien was wandering, and thinking, thinking and wandering. It was more paying, honestly. He was thinking, considering and planning... What exactly you ask, dear reader? Anderson-Belfort was thinking about Christmas, specifically about presents.
What was he supposed to buy for everyone? Why did he have so many friends to buy for? Couldn't he maybe just send out gift cards? Damien was seriously considering it, but each time he decided on it, his too big heart was dismiss the idea..
He leaned against the wall and cracked his jaw.
Maybe he'd just buy everyone except Rorie a fruit basket.

Nothing personal, she just tried not to go down to the dungeons unless it was potions related.
Beaming, Lux applauded James. It was adorable how happy he was to have succeeded and she totally got it. She was the same way when she worked out a spell!! "I think a lot of it has to do with concentration and confidence." She had started doing MUCH better with her spell work once she gained more confidence. Yay! "Do you not like them?" he asked, blinking innocently. "Someone said it was below our common room. Is that true?" Because that would just be WEIRD. He could jump and be jumping on a Slytherin's head! Ha!
"So if I get more confident, I'll be better with magic?" Maybe that was why mum was so good. She didn't seem to be bothered that she might fail, she just did it and it worked! Hmmm, maybe he should ask her for some tips. His eyes momentarily glazed over, but then he focused. "You got any more cool spells?"

Lux was confused for a moment because she honestly liked Slytherins. A lot of the ones she had met were really nice. Most people at Hogwarts were really nice. "Slytherins are cool. I just don't like dungeons much." Maybe they sounded cooler to boys? She had no idea. Sometimes boys could be odd. "Yep. Basically." Confidence and concentration were both very important when it came to spell casting. Once you got the hand of them everything became much easier. Did she have any more cool spells? Lux thought it over for a moment. "I can change the colour of things." You know...if he found that kind of thing cool. |

When she finally spoke, he gasped. "You DON'T?" Why not?? "Is it because the detentions are down there and you have to lick the walls?" That would be nasty. Ew. "When you're not in detention, they're COOL. So many shortcuts and hidey holes!"
So he just had to pretend. Mum had said to pretend he felt confident and soon it would become real. He sighed a little when he realised he had to send her a letter, but it was because he missed her more than felt like it was a chore to write home. Wait, what? "Can you change the colour of my hair??" he asked with wide eyes. Torie had done that when he got his wand! He didn't know how, but it had worked!

| Charms Homework #2 - Post #2 be curious, not judgmental Continuing on down the corridor from the bronze (AND BLUE) knocker, Sophie hummed to herself, pointing her vine wand at the wall to her right as she went. "Colovaria! Colovaria! Colovaria!" she cast at the stretch of wall, turning various sections and pillars of the wall blue as she went. It actually looked pretty sloppy and less well thought-out than she'd intended, but in reality she hadn't thought it out well at all. She was just picking random stones on the wall and random sections to change blue, sufficiently leaving her mark on this stretch of the seventh floor corridor.
Just before she reached the staircase, she turned back to admire her work - and that's when she realized just how stupid it did look. There was no rhyme or reason to what she'd turned blue along the way, and... sigh. Quiggles would think she was lazy and sloppy and had no artistic vision. He'd be disappointed in this corridor, wouldn't he? He'd think she hadn't even tried at all.
She didn't want that.
A bit grumpily, Sophie turned and started her trek back toward the knocker, and when she crossed any stretch of wall that had a part changed blue on the left side, she changed the part of the wall on the opposite side of the corridor so the blue was symmetrical the whole way down. It took a bit of concentration and hesitation along the way to figure out which stone lined up with the one across from it, but each time she cast, "Colovaria!" again with a point of her wand alllllllll the way back to the knocker until everything that COULD match up looked the same on both sides.
Once she reached the knocker, she jogged back down the corridor once more toward the staircase, looking back and forth between the wall on either side of her as she went to make sure the two sides matched up, then let out a sigh of annoyance with herself when she finally reached the staircase.
She'd made that a lot harder on herself than it needed to be.

| Anna <33 ★ wannabe historian ★ Baekry Timmy twirled excitedly along the corridor near her common room. She had finally gotten a solo in her dance school back home. Getting dizzy after a few more spins, the small blonde sat down on the floor and read her letter over. 'Have a routine prepared for when you come back to the class.' Timmy read that line over and over. How was she supposed to prepare a routine and have it all prepared for summer? Even though summer was a long time away. Or just two months away. Sprawling out on the floor, Timmy covered her face with the letter and began to think up ideas.

Sprawling out on the floor, Timmy covered her face with the letter and began to think up ideas. Kate had had enough of the common room for now. She'd been in there for at least three hours straight trying to work on the mountain of homework she had. She didn't know if it was being thirteen-years-old now or if it was something else, but she would rather be out talking to friends than in the common room any day.
Exiting the common room, she headed off down the corridor. She was so focused on where she should go from here, that she nearly missed the girl sprawled out reading something on a piece of paper. "Oh, I'm sorry," Kate mumbled, dodging out of the way at the last second. "Timmy? Is that you?" Kate had met Timmy once during their first year, but it had been a while since they talked.
Oddly enough, Kate had almost gotten ran over the exact same way just the other day. Some boy named Brian had tripped over her while Kate was writing in her History of Magic journal.

Oh, it was Kate.
Smiling at her, Timmy sat up and grinned. "The one and only," she spoke, getting to her feet and dusting herself off. "Catching up on class reading?" Timmy asked, pointing to Kate's book. She's missed Kate, but Kate was really studious and all so Timmy wouldn't see her around as often as last term.
