The room located off the Great Hall was set up almost like a normal classroom. There were desks scattered about in that symmetrical way into which classrooms were usually organized, only Apollo had set up three big tables in the front of the room. The first table had a multitude of two items: mugs and rubber balls. He was hoping the mugs weren’t a bad idea; he didn’t much fancy cleaning up the mess of shattered ceramic.
The second table held lots and lots of APPLES. Apollo thought about munching on one as he waited for the bright and smiling faces of the youth to appear, but he also thought that was vaaaastly rude. The chewing—the way that juice would sometimes spit out from your mouth while chewing an apple—just, no. The middle-aged man was keen on appearing as polite as possible. Polite, happy to be here(because he was) and most importantly…EXCITED about passing on his knowledge. Young people were the future, after all.
The third table was probably the most interesting, at least to Apollo. He had set up three bins; the first one had many tiny rectangles of clay, the other had many different colored wires all round together, and the last one held very wet wax. Apollo had to soak the wax…..all night? in order for it to be in correct order for today’s use, but ah, well. No matter. He really didn’t mind!
There was a blackboard in the front of the room where Apollo had written his name in curly, large letters: APOLLO. Underneath it, he had written, again in his curly writing, “Mythology: A Look Back For Modern Magic”
He was leaning back against the middle table(the one with the apples) with his arms crossed, waiting patiently for students to arrive. It had been awhile since he had interacted with students this age; his granddaughter was the only young person in his life at the moment. No, Apollo was not nervous. He was much more curious as to how they would all take his line of work, the obscure and quite unprofitable kind of magical theory.
His hat hung on the chair next to the tables, and his bag of trinkets, too, sat atop the seat.
Hogwarts was quite beautiful, wasn’t it? Apollo waited for the students to arrive, a far-off look in his eyes. He took off his glasses and wiped the lens using his overcoat.
On each of the desks, Apollo had placed little name-tag stickers, the typical kind, for their names. He wanted to know to whom he was speaking at all times. Names were important…especially to Apollo.
OOC: Welcome to our seminar! My name's Kate (kayquilz)! *waves* Come in, have a seat, and relax! We are just so excited for this, and I hope you and your kiddies are, too! You guys have a bit of time before I officially start the seminar, so don't stress! <3

Apollo was giving her a thumbs up! That meant that Lux was saying the incantation correctly. Awesome. Now it was time for her to give the spell a go. Just for the fun of it she gave a few more jabs with her wand. One could never practice too much.
Turning her attention to the red ball on the desk in front of her, Lux focused really hard on what she wanted the tree to look like. Focus was really important when it came to spellwork and she wanted hers to look really pretty. Once she felt ready, she jabbed at it twice with her wand. Jab. Jab. “Immutare Arbore!” Right before her eyes, the ball slowly transfigured itself into a small tree with branches and leaves and everything.
"Apollo, look at my tree!!" She had done good. Did this mean that she got confetti too???

This little tree reminded him of the bonsai stuff they had done in Herbology a few years ago. But just look at his tiny treeee! Wasn't it so cool? IT WAS- ooooh! It was raining tiny coloured paper!
CONFETTI!
Apollo was raining confetti on him! Stickers and now confetti?! Eeeep! He was SUPER COOL! "Teach me that spell, Apollo!'' Because confetti, yo! But look! Lux had a tree too! Shower her in confetti too so that the two Hufflepuffs could be Confetti Buddies!
Oh, this was all so fascinating! Nessa had been sitting quietly the whole time at the back of the room next to the BFF just listening and absorbing all the information. She knew that this was technically for the students, but she couldn't help to not find herself in attendance as she thought mythology was very interesting especially as it sometimes intertwined with history. As she listened and let the students take the lead on answering the questions, she thought a moment on Apollo's stories, finding the thought of being turned into a tree terrifying and kind of exciting all at the same time.
Ooh, and now for a little activity, they were going to create their own teensy trees! Eeep, how exciting! Nessa jumped up from her seat and got up to get two bouncy balls. She hoped that she was allowed to partake in the activity as well. Bouncy one of the balls as she walked back to her seat, she held the other in her hand until she reached Cassie and set it on her desk. "One for you too!"
Amidst various voices around her reciting the spell, Nessa took a quick look around the immediate vicinity to see little trees growing from balls and mugs. How cool! But she wanted to try too. Immutare Abore.. Immutare Abore.. She focused on the words and intent in her head a few times then jabbed her wand twice at her rubber ball. "Immutare Abore!" Slowly, the ball began to change its shape and material, lengthening out as it started to develop roots and branches. "Ohmygosh, look!" She glanced at Cassie. She needed to make a little tree too!

Yoongi beamed at the man when he agreed to put the sticker on the edge of the desk instead of his face. And when he did after he had answered the question he nodded in appreciation. Writing down the last of the notes, Yoongi was ready to try the spell! Well…he should probably practise it first seeing as it was something he had never tried before.
“Im mue tar ay ar bor ay” he muttered while looking at the blackboard. “Im mue tar ay ar bor ay” “Immutare Abore” Got it. As the man did a little demonstration on the mug which transformed in to a mini tree, Yoongi gasped softly at the cute tree that appeared. “Will they change back in to their original form after a while?” he asked.
Grabbing his phoenix feathered wand , Yoongi jabbed his wand twice at a bouncy ball he had taken earlier and said “Immutare Arbore” the bouncy ball changed form , it was getting longer and he could see that it kind of started to resemble a tree.
The only problem was, was that the tree form still had the texture of the bouncy ball. Using “Finite” the Gryffindor tried again. He concentrated and jabbed his wand twice again. “Immutare Arbore” this time there were leaves on the bouncy ball but other than that it remained a bouncy ball. He sighed as he tried again.

Zhenya stared at her tree and leaf handled mug, trying to summon her witch powers to transform the whole mug into a little tree. She could do it, she could, that's what she had to tell herself. Obviously she had succeeded in transforming the handle into a ceramic, tree looking handle, so she could no doubt transform the whole mug. Whether it would be a proper mini tree or a ceramic mini tree was another question, but perhaps it would all just take some work.
"Im-mue-tar-ay ar-bor-ay," she said, jab-jabbing her wand at it. She watched as it started to transform into a mini tree. First the mug grew taller, the bottom quarter of it transforming into a little pot. Then the next half shrunk inwards, turning a brown colour and taking on the appearance of textured wood. Then the top quarter, and the handle, transformed into a mass, a tiny mass, of leaves and twigs. She held a finger out and tapped it against the tree, running her fingers gently over the top, and was pleased to feel that the leaves were real, and the tree wasn't ceramic. She had done it!

Well, at least Thornton hadn't missed the instructions for the practical. As he went forward to select a bouncy ball, several thoughts crossed his mind. The first was whether the tree, if he was successful, would revert at some point and leave a little ball buried in the dirt. The second was that he hoped a bouncy ball wouldn't be too small a target. And the third was that his spellwork would be much better - it was average now - if he still practiced on a regular basis.
He.. missed his study buddy.
Sitting in his chair, the third year set the ball very carefully on the surface of his desk, hoping it would not roll. Muttering the incantation to himself to practice the pronunciation, Thornton tried to visualize a tree.
Double jab. It was a double jab. The Ravenclaws held his wand and took a steadying breath. "Immutare Arbore!"jab jab.
Thornton looked at the place the bouncy ball had once sat. That was... sorta a tree. The misshapen red shape resembled a poorly cut topiary, if one wanted to be technical about it.

Oh, that really was sad. Zhenya made a mental note never to say Medusa was a hideous female again. She had been cursed like that in a heartbreaking way. Poor Medusa, destined to spend her life alone without friend, partner or foe.
Picking up a mug from the front, Zhenya returned to her desk and placed the mug on top of it. She looked at it for a few moments, imagining it as a tree. Okay... "Im-mue-tar-ay ar-bor-ay, Im-mue-tar-ay ar-bor-ay, Im-mue-tar-ay ar-bor-ay," she said a few times, practicing some more, and double jabbed her wand at it to practice the movement. Well surely that would do it?
"Im-mue-tar-ay ar-bor-ay," she said, and double jabbed her wand at the mug. The handle transformed into a wood-looking handle. OH COOL! She touched it, but it still felt ceramic, so she hadn't done it right. Perhaps if it felt like a tree it would have partially worked at transforming the structure of the mug. Well, the material. But never mind.
"Im-mue-tar-ay ar-bor-ay," she said again, double jabbing the mug. Nothing happened this time. Ah... She cleared her throat, rolled her neck and rolled her shoulders back. Okay, focus Burton. She closed her eyes a few moments to try and picture the mug a tree again. She tried to picture it as the tree Apollo had just transformed. Opening her eyes she looked at the mug again.
"Im-mue-tar-ay ar-bor-ay," she said, double jabbing her wand at it. A leaf sprouted from the tree-looking handle. She had a giggle, and almost asked Apollo whether she could just keep it like this. It looked cool. But alas that was not the purpose of the spell.
Apollo had to applaud her effort and at least the mug was taking a different shape and stuff! It had even sprouted a leaf. “Well now! Look at that--it’s almost there--” he smiled.

Apollo saw Thornton having trouble and just patted his shoulder. “It’s okay. It’s a great start, Thornton.” Apollo smiled and swept back to the front of the room, near the blackboard. Now they would begin...the second activity thing.
“Okay everyone! Stop practicing for now--if you haven’t gotten it--well--you’ll have to try again later.” He eyed the time on his watch. “We should be moving on to the second part of the seminar!” He BEAMED and watched as the chalk began to get ready to move, poised right next to him, close to touching the blackboard.
“The next myth we’ll be talking about is the story of Atalanta.” He paused, watching the chalk write her name on the board. “Now...Atalanta was a princess. She was always supposed to marry a very important man...but Atalanta was not an ordinary princess. She was tough--she could fight well and shoot an arrow better than any man--she won all of the competitions she ever entered--and so, Atalanta did not WANT to marry anymore.” He paused to let the chalk bullet point what he was saying.
“She and her father made a deal. She would race against all of her suitors...and if she won, she would behead the loser. If she lost, though….she had to marry the man who beat her. For each race, Atalanta won...for awhile.” He sighed a little. “She was the fastest mortal alive. Of course those boys didn’t stand a chance!” This story was such a contrast to Baucis and Philemon! “There was a man..named Hippomenes...who loved Atalanta, and who wanted to marry her. However, he was KNEW he wouldn’t win a race with her. So...he did what every other ancient Greek desperate lover did--he prayed to APHRODITE.” Gasp. Apollo did not like the goddess. ugh. Anyways. Continuing. “Aphrodite answered his prayers and gave Atalanta three shiny golden apples. They were shiny, but also...very attractive women.” Kind of similar to how the Trojan war started, with the golden apple of discord.
“So..during his race with Atalanta...our man Hippomenes would throw an apple….and Atalanta would get distracted, pick it up, and then keep running...Hippo did this THREE TIMES…..until...he crossed the finish line first...and. Well. They got married.” There was more to the story….but it was sad and he didn’t want to get into it right now. So. Yeah.
“Now...this story is a little different...what I want to focus on is the APPLES--” he gestured at that second table. “Can anyone tell me what kind of magic might be used in THAT?”
He waited for the smart answers he KNEW he would get.
OOC: I ran a little late because RL. But I'll try to post a reply for this in...15 hours ish?

He got thumbs up for his leafy wooden cube-ball thing. Awesome.
And then to put him out of his misery, he didn't NEED to know how to perform the spell, cause they were moving on. Awesome. Good. Great. THANK MERLIN.
Zeke sat and listened to the next myth-story-thing. It was interesting, but he couldn't say he could empathise with it. Weird is what it was. Imagine if he had to marry anyone who beat him in a race? Marriage was supposed to be about love and family and things, not just anyone who was more athletically superior to you, or LUCKIER than you.
Nevetheless, he had a feeling he knew this one.
Hand raised, Zeke voiced his thoughts. "It could be one of two things, Apollo," he informed matter-of-factly. "My bet is that it would be a charm, because charm's adds properties to an object, like in this example it would be attraction. OR, alternatively, the same or similar thing could be achieved with a potion, but a charm would be easier."
Well, it was time to think outside the box. Even if it wasn't the correct answer, this professor... travelling seminar...speaker guy would probably love a creative but totally incorrect response. Well, Apollo here's one coming right up!
"What if the apples were coated in Amortentia? The smell would attract anyone enough to distract from the race," Tora suggested. "And if not Amortentia, perhaps a different potion?"
Even though the answer was most likely some charm or sommat, the more Tora thought about it, the more it seemed as if it could be a potion as well. After all, weren't potions just charms in liquid form? She'd have to look into that later. The library probably had some books on that... But when would she have time? Hmmmm. Between transfiguration that evening and... wait what?
Tora realized she had drifted off suddenly and snapped back to the present. What was Apollo saying?

Brian snapped back to attention just in time for Apollo to tell them to stop practicing their spells and launched into a story about Atlanta. He liked Apollo, but he didn't like practicing charmswork in front of everyone. It made him feel extremely self-conscious of the fact that he wasn't very good at the kind of magic they did here. So yes, he was very relieved that he didn't have to do a charm in front of everyone.
Smiling at the green sticker on the corner of his notebook, Brian raised his hand with fingers wiggling in the air until he was called on. "Could it have been some kind of compelling charm? It might be something like the opposite of the repulsion charms people use on Muggles." Which was rude. Did they really have to repel Muggles? They were only human, after all. Anyway, Brian was back to drawing in his notebook. This time, they were three apples in a stack that looked to be very shiny and had magic radiating off them in swirls.
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Aw man! Apollo liked his secrets, huh? Adi supposed he would just have to do some research to find out about this spell. But for now, he would just have to make do with his two stickers and the confetti on his desk and around him, yes?
Oh, look! Story time again! While he listened to Apollo and the story about Hippopotamus (that's what Adi would call him, okay?), he gathered up all the mini coloured paper on his desk into one neat pile. Confetti pile! Wheee! Hehe.
When it was question time, he raised his hand. "It's deceptive magic,'' he offered. "Trickery magic because it tricked Atlanta into picking them up.''

Getting fully caught up in watching the students and Nessa turn their balls into trees she spent most of her time snapping. Wow everyone was doing so well! Though she came back to remembering it was her turn to change her ball into a tree. "OHMYGOSH!! I almost forgot!" She giggled as she took her wand out of her holster.

YESSSSSSS. CONFETTI.
Smiling, Lux twirled in it. She was doing good and this seminar was so much fun. She loved these distractions, plus she learned things like how to turn objects into TREES. Never in a million years would she have felt that was possible until today, and now she could do it on her own.
Time for the next story, and Lux listened carefully. This one was a little harder than the other had been, but she would still take a stab at it. She raised her hand. "Was the magic some sort of charm? One to make the object it is placed on irresistible to another person?" That could explain why Atalanta had been distracted by the apples.

Okay, so how come all these guys had such funny names, huh? Not that Zander could really complain or anything. Ahem. But he was focusing on that bit the entire time. The names. Wonder where they got their inspiration for 'em you know? Like who just wakes up in the morning and things, wow I think I'm gonna give my son the most complicated name in the world. That'll do it.
Of course he was doing his best to keep up with the seminar, especially because there were a few Professors present. But again he found himself questioning why he had even shown up in the first place. It's not like this thing was mandatory. Geez. He really needed to sort out his priorities.
Instead of answering the question, he just gave a big ol' nod at what Zeke said because for a third year, kid kinda seemed to know what he was talking about. And Zander agreed. A charm would be a good bet. Plus, lots of magic was a charm so it was also probably the most likely guess. But then again, any guess was better than what he'd have to offer.
So yeah, just gonna go back to staring at the back of Sophie Brown's head now. That seemed like the proper thing to do. How long until this thing was over? Uh, not that he was wondering or anything.... La la la.

No! She didn't want to move on she wanted to get her tree. SIGH. It it might be perfect but she did kinda have a tree. Or well a hunched over branch thing with a few leaves. It was something but not what she had been aiming for. Setting her wand down she lifted her gaze to Apollo and returned the smile he'd given her. She was certainly giving it her all if nothing more.
However they were moving on now. Something about apples and the guy winning the race because he would drop them and the girl would stop to pick them up. This sounded messed up to her. Either the girl really liked apples or something was catching her attention. Hearing a few different replies from those around her she agreed with her Lion buddy. An attraction charm really seemed likely. Slowly raising her hand she gave her answer,"What Zeke said makes a lot of sense. Some form of an attraction charm to make the apple shinier or just highly appealing could be enough to divert someone's attention for a moment or two." Mhmm. Especially if someone really happens to enjoy apples. Ahem! Where was the certain one professor that liked apples?

Zeke had had such interesting thoughts this whole Seminar. Apollo really enjoyed him and his thoughts. SO refreshing, youthful intelligence. “A charm, right--but a potion would be interesting, too--” it reminded him of muggle fairy tales. Hmph.
Too bad he was an expert on mythology of this kind, and not the fairy tale kind.

Oooohhhh. “That’s an interesting THOUGHT, yes.” It had been discussed in his inner circle that yes, it COULD have been. “It’s likely that they could have been. However--” he sighed. “The smell would have attracted Atalanta--but it would mean she hadn’t eaten the apples while she ran. Because if she had had the apples...while running...she would have probably run faster to catch up with him, because...well..powerful love potions can make a person do CRAZY things.” He smiled a little.
He stamped a sticker on Tora’s forehead.
Heh.

SWIRLS.
Ooooh. Apollo smiled at the boy and stuck a green sticker on his forehead. “Well. You know. that’s certainly a thought, isn’t it?!” he thought it was.

“Well, that IS correct--” he chuckled good naturedly at this answer and bounded over to smack the sticker on Adi’s head. Was this his third? Heh. A lot of them had three, now! Look at them, being so smart.

"Immutare Arbore" doing the wand movements she watched the ball turn into a small tree. HOW COOL WAS THIS! "What an adorable tree!!"
OH! Cassie had gotten the spell! Apollo SHOWERED HER WITH CONFETTI FROM HIS WAND, YES. He SMILED all big at her and clapped--but now time to move on!
SPOILER!!: Lux

Time for the next story, and Lux listened carefully. This one was a little harder than the other had been, but she would still take a stab at it. She raised her hand. "Was the magic some sort of charm? One to make the object it is placed on irresistible to another person?" That could explain why Atalanta had been distracted by the apples.
Apollo nodded. “Probably, yes--VERY good--” he grinned and gave the girl a RED star on her forehead, this time.
SPOILER!!: Zander

La la la.
….Quiet one. WE SEE YOU, ZANDER. Apollo squinted at him before moving on. Being quiet was his choice, wasn’t it? Sigh.

“RIGHT, Little Miss Hady. I was...going for exactly what you just said--making them SHINIER.” He beamed at her, plastered a blue sticker to her forehead, and went back to the front of the classroom, ready to lead them into their next activity.
OKAY.
“So, for today, we are going to focus on making the apples shinier. in fact, they’ll be….they look golden.” He smirked. “It’s a fun little spell--and keep in mind, since it’s a CHARM, the apples won’t actually BE gold...then that would be alchemy! But...here..the apples will look shiny and appealing and GOLDEN. The spell is a bit simpler than the one from before.”
He cleared his throat and grabbed one of the apples. “The wand movement is simple, too. Just a circle above the apple, and the words ‘nitidus superficies’....it’s also a bit of a tongue twister, but…” the chalk on the board was writing how to say it. “Nitidus SUPERFICIES!” he cried, roving his wand around the apple in his hand, in a circular motion. The spell shot from his wand and when it touched the apple, it looked like the fruit was engulfed in a shiny golden tint.
It was so pretty...Apollo smirked and bit into it. “See? Still an apple, and with no side effects--just--SHINY.”
“Now...I’d like you all to try! Grab an apple or two--and practice! You can eat them at the end of the seminar--because for the activity after this one, I don’t think eating should be...well, it’d be distracting.” He shot a glance at the third table.
OOC: Sorry I took a little long this time! Once again, this activity can take as long or short as you want! Have fun! Apollo loves you all!

This time Apollo gave her a RED sticker, and that make Lux happy. Yaaaaay. AND it was a star too!! That was totally awesome. She liked stickers.
Ooooh, they were going to make apples look golden. Lux knew a Professor who would have been happy to eat all of them. Then again she wouldn't mind eating them either... They looked delicious and it had been a while since she had last eaten. Her apples were definitely going to end up in her tummy after this seminar was over.
Taking two, she placed them on her desk so that she could get started. The incantation sounded like a bit of a tongue twister, but she was sure she could get it right in the end. "Nitidus Superficies." That sounded weeeeeeird. "Nitidus Superficies... Nitidus Superficies... Nitidus Superficies." She kept working on the incantation until she was sure that she was pronouncing it the same way that Apollo had. Now onto the wand movement.
Lux began drawing circles in the air with her wand.

She'd been right! Well technically she continued with what Zeke had said but still she'd been right. So it counted and the blue sticker on her forehead confirmed that. Grinning brightly Hady sat herself up straighter to pay attention still what what they'd been trying now.
Her mind drifted for a second back to what she'd been called. Little Miss Hady. It was certainly different but in a good way and she liked it. Removing the sticker from her hand to examine it a moment she then stuck it to the back of her left hand as she continued to listen to Apollo.
Rising to her feet she collected herself an apple before sitting back down. "Nitidus Superficies...Nitidus Superficies...Nitidus Superficies..," Hady whispered to herself many times as she worked on getting that right first. It took some time but after saying it out loud enough it became easier and easier.
The wand movement was much easier and picking up her wand in her hand she practiced making circles above the apple sat in the center of her desk.

ANOTHER sticker! Wheee! Adi was going to be a sticker book by the time he was through with this seminar. He was LOVING every second. "Pssst. Apollo,'' he whispered when the man had bestowed him with the third sticker. "You should have seminars here more often.'' Because Adi would be at them ALL!
Alright, they were moving on from his correctish answer and the other answers which were a lot better than his to make apples golden and shineeeey! Yay for shiney stuff! Maybe he could use a few of the apples to find a Niffler. Yes, the crazy Puffer wanted a Niffler!
Adi grabbed some apples for him and AJ. "No eating them,'' he told the girlfriend. "Not yet, anyway.'' He was telling that to himself too because the temptation was real, yo! Maybe practicing would help. ''Nitidus Superficies, Nitidus Superficies, Nitidus Superficies.'' For some reason the first reminded him of Nintendo. Hehe. The boy began tracing out a circle over the first apple. ''Nitidus Superficies!''

Okay, time to make some shiny apples.
Lux was so ready to get started. She hoped she could make hers as shiny as Apollo's. They looked delicious though. Could she not just eat them instead? ...Probably not. At least not until the seminar was over so she needed to be patient. Pout.
She drew another circle with her wand - this time over one of the apples. "Nitidus Superficies!" Whoa, it looked super shiny and golden now. That had been easy once she got the pronunciation down. Lux wondered if she would get showered with more confetti because that had been cool. She liked confetti. Now on to the second apple! Another circle was drawn in the air over it. "Nitidus Superficies!"

It was time to get started making those shiny golden apples!
Flexing her fingers around her wand she once more traced the circle above her apple. She had the wand movement down. Then once under her breath she repeated the charm to herself. ''Nitidus Superficies.'' Hady knew she had both the pronunciation of the charm and it's proper wand movement down. Now she only had to put those both together in order to produce a shiny apple.
Focusing intently on the apple on her desk she moved her wand in a circle over the apple, ''Nitidus Superficies!'' she recited at the same time. The apple shimmered slightly but nothing more happened then that.
Alright time to give it another go. She'd get this. ''Nitidus Superficies!'' Hady called out once again moving her wand in a circle above the apple as she did. This time the spell hit the apple and there was a bright glow, a golden glow around the apple as it became a gorgeous bright and shinny golden color. Hazzah! She'd done it!
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Nuh uh. Nothing happened there.
''Nitidus Superficies!'' Adi tried the spell with the appropriate wand movement and hey presto! One very shiny apple! Adi examined the apple then put it aside. He would try this spell again. ''Nitidus Superficies!'' WOOT! Another shiny, golden apple. He examined this one too, fighting the urge to take a chunk out of it. Hehe.
SPOILER!!: thanks to you guys for sticking with me! <3

COOL SPELL, YO!
Apollo was immensely PROUD. The students were all GETTING IT. A fantastic feeling. Though, he felt this spell was a less difficult than the one he started out with. Hmm. Maybe he should have switched them. Whatever. It was over and done with, and the students who had gotten the spell ALL GOT CONFETTI ON THEIR HEADS.
YAAAAY!
He was a very excited man. VERY. EXCITED.
He was MOST EXCITED for this last story, though...HMPH. "You know what? Go ahead and eat your apples--" he smiled. "While I tell you all the last myth...and move us into the final SUPER AMAZING AND EXCITING activity..." which involved...less magic, and more FUN.
This was why he was excited. FUN. FUN FUN!
"I'm sure some of you might have guessed, when seeing the wax--" and he stepped in front of the third table, gesturing at the wax. "That one of the myths I'd be covering would be Daedalus and Icarus. Well. That's correct!" he smiled warmly. "The final story is...a bit tragic, I must admit, for those of you who don't know this story." He sighed, but eyed the board, the chalk doing its job and bullet pointing what he was saying.
"Daedalus was a very talented artisan who was in exile in a place called CRETE--" which actually existed, just...not as mystically. "And...there, as crime for something he did before--" he didn't want to go into THAT part of the story. "He is the one who built the famous labyrinth! He was...sort of a servant of the king there and had to do what the king commanded." He felt like he was doing a very...shotty job of explaining this story so far. But yes...he was generally getting the idea across, he hoped. And plus, the important part of the story was coming up!
"He had a son while in Crete, and they were stuck in the labyrinth that he built. He wanted to escape with his son, and so...using his IMMENSE skill--he made wings...from wax and feathers...." And he stopped and looked out at all the...YOUTHFUL GLOWS.
"Now...I want to hear from you. I said this was a tragic story. For those of you who know the story--you can contribute, still, but try to let the others guess, first. For those of you who aren't familiar--how do you think the story will end? I am...very curious." he smiled and sat on the now empty middle table. They'd taken ALL of his apples..heh. Of course they had. IT WAS FOOD.
OOC: I'll be posting again in about 24 hours! If your charrie does know the story, just post him/her saying what they know, and I'll rearrange it so that they've held back their answers while other people give their guesses as to what happened. <3

MORE CONFETTI!
Apollo was the BEST, man! THE BEST! And they could eat their apples! Yaaaay! AJ must be pleased though not as pleased as Adi was now. He happily bit into his apple. Omnomnom. Food and story time. It didn't get better than this! Ooh! Daedalus and Icarus! He knew of this myth... or a little of it at least. Poor Icarus...
So since he did know this myth, Adi continued to eat his apple while his fellow Hogwartians gave their answers. CrunchNomNom! CrunchNomNom! CrunchNomNom! When it seemed as though the answers were drying up, Adi swallowed the bit of fruit in his mouth and raised his hand.
"Icarus flew too close to the sun with the wings causing the wax to melt and he fell into the sea over which they were flying.'' Right now, that song by Bastille was playing in his head. "Icarus is flying too close to the sun and Icarus's life, it has only just begun...'' Greeeat! Now he wanted to go listen to the song.

Benny had been doing to best to follow along with the seminar, doing whatever activity that happened along with the various stories. He had to admit it was all interesting, even if he wasn't totally contributing at least vocally. It wasn't like he was the most vocal anyway and he could pay more attention if he simply listened and paid close attention to what was being said by the pseudo-professor and his classmates who seemed to get it.
As well as eating his apple.
The most recent story caught his attention and Benny tried to think if he knew it. Wax...feathers. A father...and a son...caught in a maze. Nope...didn't strike to clear a chord in his mind. "Tragedy involving someone falling while flying?" the Gryffindor guessed after raising his hand. The wings certainly had to play a part else why would they be mentioned...right? Just didn't know who was the one who died.
