As you walk into the Muggle Studies classroom, you’ll see not much has changed since last term. There are rows of tables situated around the room, two chairs at each one. All tables are facing front and the arrangement has put Professor Moxley's desk, and the large floating white board just behind it, directly in your line of sight. Better sit with someone who doesn’t distract you, hm? Moxley is going to be cramming knowledge nuggets into those brains of yours all class long and that’s a promise. Speaking of the professor, Moxley can be found seated comfortably at her desk, a big old smile on her face. Someone’s excited about today’s class and it shows.
So come on in and take a seat, we'll be starting shortly!
OOC: Please be sure to familiarize yourself with Moxley's rules before the lesson and all snitchseeker rules apply!
Class has officially started!
OOC: If you're just joining us, pretend your charrie has been here all along or face possible loss of points!

Hiiiiiiii, everyone! Adi was hereeeee! Hehe. It wasn't like the boy was announcing himself to the class but his signature grin was in place as he bounded into the room. Knowing that he would meet the also very cheerful Moxley, he was doubly looking forward to this class. "HiHiHi, Professor! How are youuu?"
....................
So many peoples were there already! Lux, Zhenya, Toby and a few of his other friends got grins or waves of acknowledgment as Adi made his way to Benny. Hiiii, Benny. Adi flopped onto the seat at the Lion's desk. "What's up, Thor?"
Toothless - Napoleon of Crime - Gryffinclaw - Owl Emissary - Pirate Auror - DoctorDonna
With his back to the door, Benny hadn't registered the moment Adi had entered the muggle studies classroom. Nor the grin on his face until he looked up from setting out some parchment and quill for notes on the desk in front of him. And when he felt a presence come up behind him before joining him. Oh and that was a referal to the Ancient Runes lesson and all that transpired there.
"Nothing much," he answered, "What about you, Loki?" It was only appropriate to return the favor.
Hugh was as ready as Hugh's could be, which was not very much. He was very distracted this morning (like most mornings) when he fumbled into Moxley's class. WHADDA DO, PROFESSOR MOXLEY. He saluted her awkwardly and found his seat.
Emmylou made her way to the Muggle Studies classroom. She was really excited to find out what they would be learning in class today. It wasn't everyday that you get to do something really awesome in class. Some days classes were boring. Before walking Emmylou made sure that she had everything that she needed for today's lesson.
The sixth year lioness walked into the classroom with a big smile on her face. "Hello Professor. How are you?" Emmylou asked with a smile and found a seat towards the front of the classroom. She was going to do really good in lessons this term. She did really good last term but she wanted to up her game right now!

This class was going to be a waste of his time. Xavi knew it, but he had to come. He reasoned that it wouldn't be so bad to sit and doodle for hours and end with perfect marks. He found a seat toward the front, but on the far side. That didn't label him as a slacker, and also kept him out of the teacher's line of sight, lowering his chances of being caught off-guard by a question he wasn't paying attention to.
What even was the point of this class? Half of the school or more had at least one muggle parent, and for those who didn't couldn't they just ask their friends if they had questions? It wasn't like they didn't live in a world surrounded by muggles. They all probably knew what everything was. The muggle world was pretty simple. At least, in the mind of the first year it was.

So pft, whatever. Gotta do what you gotta do.
And Zander Adair meant serious business. Finally only a few paces from the door, he put on a big, goofy smile and slowed down his pace to that of a brisk walk. There. No one would be able to tell that he jogged to class today if he just brushed a hand through his hair. Nooope. Aside from the slight color in his cheeks and the heavy breaths, but who was paying attention? Hopefully no one.
"Hello, Professor! Super excited about the lesson today," he gave her a big smile as he walked past and went for a seat near the front. What? If he was trying to do this then he might as well play the part, right?
Ah yes, Mr. Adair. Moxley couldn’t help but be amused at how much effort the boy was putting into getting on her good side although really, all of her sides were good ones, especially today. She was looking FAB.U.LOUS. Feeling that way too.
“Mr. Adair, how nice to see you! No baked goods today, I see?” The brunette pouted slightly, giving the kid a hard time because why not? What was the fun of being in charge if you couldn’t freak out the students a bit? And because she wasn’t that mean, she let the question hang in the air for a moment and then added, “Just kidding!” Hehehe.

Yeah yeah, Muggle Studies. Since Natalia essentially grew up in a purely muggle household, she could just sleep through this class, right? She would probably still pass the class if she skipped most of the lessons... Natalia just wanted time to catch up with sleep, something that Hogwarts was never really generous at offering.
"Hello Professor..." Natalia attempted to greet the kind-looking professor with a returning smile but instead ended up with something more of an elvish scowl.
Scanning around the room, Natalia noticed that there was only one other soul in the classroom, and it was.... ZANDER. Hurhurhur. Hello Zaaaaander. He wouldn't mind her company, no doubt.
Without saying hello to the Gryffindor prefect, Natalia dropped her bag on the desk next to Zander with a loud THUD! She then collapsed onto the chair and propped both of her legs on the desk while sliding down against the back of her chair. Perhaps she could get in a couple of minutes of sleep before class starts...
”Hello there.” This one got raised brows because the girl looked like the walking dead. Tired much? Moxley watched as she made her way to her seat and was she-was she actually trying to nap right now? WELL.
Moxley would just have to think of a creative way to wake her up if she did fall asleep, wouldn’t she?

”Ms. Carrington, hello!” Meredith was quite fond of the Hufflepuff. She appreciated her positive attitude and eagerness to learn. It was refreshing to see. None of that teenage angst stuff here, nope. At least not that she could tell and that’s the way she liked it.

And with that thought in mind, Grayson strutted into the classroom with enough confidence to fill the oceans. "Hey, Professor," he said, giving her a nod of his head. Dudette always looked so happy, what was up with that? How can someone be so happy all the time? Was that the Essence to Induce Euphoria or was she just naturally happy?
Weird, man.
Whatever. Grayson headed over towards an empty seat towards the back of the class and sat back. It was only then that he properly acknowledged how many people were there and..........
.............. oh jeez, was he EARLY?! Oh man, this was gonna make him look like a freaking dork.
Mr. Whitlock got a nod of the head and a “Hello there,” in return. Moxley was rather amused as she watched him take a seat, the look on his face causing her to wonder if he was worried about something. ”No worries, I’m sure more students will be arriving shortly! You’re just a bit early, Mr. Whitlock.” So how about a smile, Grayson?

He gave them all a friendly wave and he noticed Professor Moxley and he smiled warmly and greeted her with, "Hello Professor, I trust you are well.." I mean he knew by her smile but he wanted to make sure.
After he greeted the Professor, he took a seat at his desk but then he realized they were at the front of the room. He frowned and then sat on one of the bean bags and took out his quill and notebook and began to doodle. He would of course stop when the lesson began. He looked up and noticed Eden was waving at him and he smiled and waved back. She seemed cheery today and he liked it!
OOC: There are no beanbags in the room?
”Mr. Lecium, nice to see you!” Moxley gave the Hufflepuff a polite nod of her head and then checked the time. Still early, it seemed. This just meant all the kiddos were super eager to see her, yeah? Popular professor indeed!

She didn't know the girl's name, but she did wave at the Gryffindor[Natalia] before slipping into a seat near Grayson... "Hiiiiii," she said with a playful nudge in his direction. "Whitlock. You're looking dashing today, as always..." she smirked.
Flirting, playfully, with Grayson was a fun pastime, wasn't it? She smiled and waved at Lux, too. Wow. Everyone was so nice and AWESOME today. And Eden swept her tinted hair back into a pony-tail, her blue eyes traipsing around the room to see if she had missed saying hi to anyone. SHE COULDN'T LEAVE ANYONE OUT!
OH! There was a Kace! Eden waved cheerfully at him, too.
Oh my merlin, look at that hair! ”Ms. McGee, welcome! I do love the blue.” Way to have house spirit. Moxley had dabbled a bit in hair coloring when she was a girl. You’ve never seen cool until you’ve seen a young Meredith Moxley with a pink locks. She could wrock and roll all night and party everyday!

Henric forgotten he still had his pumpkin pie in his mouth, embarrassed he quickly spit it out in his hands. "Sorry,Professor Moxley...uh..morning!"he grinned sheepishly and turned around before his ears got anymore redder. He walked towards his usual seating area and put his satchel down on the floor. Moxley couldn’t help it, she let out a startled laugh. What in Merlin’s beard was that greeting, anyway? Taking out her wand, she cleaned the boys hands for him and shook her head. ”Nice to see you, Mr. Nicolei! That was quite the entrance.” Bit gross in all honesty but she’d keep that to herself. EVEN though she was trying.
Standing there, her bag hanging off of her shoulder she just smiled to everyone…no sitting near Zander, cause that would mean sitting ON Nat and she wasn’t going to pull an Aegis. Because that was just weird….still, being muggleborn he was the perfect person to sit next to right? He knew things. He was like the encyclopedia OF muggle awesomeness.
“Hey Zander,” she nodded over to him and sent Nat a little grin as really, that would have been her own go to approach in Arithmancy…the class already didn’t make sense to her as it was. Deciding not to debate too long she just simply sat at one of the empty desks. Putting her smile completely to the HIGHEST conceivable level well, for her that is, she turned her attention to Professor Moxley. “Hello Professor Moxley,” she smiled over to her. Yep. She was going to be nice. ALL class. No matter what happened. EVEN if the class was about muggle deaths…seeing as well that kind of seemed to be a trend after…well, after things happened.
”Prefect Greyvson, nice to see you.” Moxley returned the smile and watched as the Gryffindor got settled. She was glad to see the lion leaders present in her class and hoped they’d encourage more of the pride to attend.

The fourth year walked with a big ol' bounce in her step over to an empty seat next to Puck. "Hiya Puck!" "Hi, professor. You're looking particularly radiant today," Sophie noted with a smile and a brief wave of her hand before surveying those already in class - Zander, Lux, Kace, Eden, Puck, and Norah got smiles in particular, but she also had a friendliness for Grayson and Zeke, both of whom she admired. Grayson was a big-head, but he was knowledgeable, and Zeke knew everything about everything, probably. So... best to keep them as allies, yes.
With two chairs at each table, Sophie surveyed the tables first that were full - Zander's, unfortunately - and those that had only one person at them. Hmmmmmm. Maaaaybe she would leave this up to chance, yes? The prefect sat at a vacant table and started getting her materials out for class, letting everyone else who entered decide who would sit by her.
Living dangerously.
Compliments will get you everywhere in life, Sophie Brown. Moxley waved hand as if dismissing the compliment but really she was loving it. Gosh, so much. She was definitely deserving of adoration. ”How nice of you to say, Ms. Brown! Thank you and welcome.” Mr. Adair could take lessons from this one, yeah?

Usually this might have been one of those confusing not-positive-enough days that made Toby stay in his dorm and pretend he was ill, but this was MUGGLE STUDIES, taught by MOXLEY. He just liked her, y'know? She was super nice, and he didn't want to miss her lesson.
Sooooo here he was. Toby had paused briefly before reaching the door to sort of stop and collect himself and hitch a grin onto his face as he entered the room. Moxley had been another teacher to notice when he wasn't doing so hot (granted, he HAD been very obvious, but shhh) so he took extra measures to be extra happy in here. Also 'cause she deserved a happy class and all. All the teachers did, yup.
"Hi Professor!" the Hufflepuff said, usual cheerfulness in effect as he crossed to his usual spot by one of the windows. "Looking cheerful today!" Toby was too, see the grin? Yeah. He sat at his desk and started setting up.
”Mr. Fuller-Thompson, hello!” See what she meant about the badgers? Cutest bunch of kids. Meredith was pretty sure her own daughter would be one too, actually. ”It’s a great day for Muggle Studies. I’m glad you’re looking cheerful as well!” It was nice to see.

However, it was a cool lesson if it did happen. Albeit terrifying. Why did most of these lesson terrify her, again? It was just that THING with Muggles, they could be so scary sometimes.
"Hello, Professor. How are you doing?" The blonde was also in a good mood today, having finally finished a sketch she was working on and having had a good meal before this class had started. Just enough to fill her up, not enough to weigh the girl down and make her feel sleepy. Not sleepy at all actually. It was actually kind of nice to be back at Hogwarts. After most of the excitement calmed down, it was like being back at your home away from home, like moving in with a friend and settling down.
Sitting down at the first empty desk she could find, Ophelia ruffled her hand through her newly shortened hair and got out all of her school supplies, making a quick list in her notebook. This might be a little premature, as her curly hair hadn't really started growing back yet, but there was always the question of whether she was going to grow it out or make this a thing. Park of her said grow it out so you could style it and use it to change the shape of your face -it was only a THEORY, but the thirteen year old theorized that putting your hair a certain way could make you look like a completely new person. She really wanted to test the validity of this-- but another part kind of liked the way the new hair looked. It made her look older and somehow made her grey eyes look bigger. No problems there. She would have to ask her friend when she saw him next. Then again, he might not be any help, either. Sighing to herself, she began jotting down ideas before class began.
”I’m doing quite well, thank you! I hope the same goes for you?” The young Ravenclaw got a smile before Moxley stood, walking around to the front of her desk. She was anxious to get started. Lots to cover today, y’see.

On the other hand, there were days when Clara wanted to know as much about muggles and muggle devices as she could, and these were usually days that she wasn't thinking of her future past Hogwarts. Scary.
Either way, very hit or miss. Today was a hit, so far. She walked into the classroom with a half smile on her face. "Hello, Professor," she said, before looking around the classroom. Eden was here already, but surrounded by people, and if Clara was going to deal with this class then people weren't going to be involved. Instead of sitting near or next to her best friend, she just waved to her and found an empty next elsewhere. Time for some focused learning.
Perching on the edge of her desk, Moxley swung her legs and and watched the class. She was relieved to see notebooks out and generally good attitudes. Though why wouldn’t they have good attitudes? She was awesome!
”Hello, Ms. Wilde!” The Ravenclaw got a smile. The classroom was really filling up now. Moxley was pleased.

So yes, Yoongi was not entering this room unprepared. ”Hello.” Who was this one? Moxley couldn’t place him but she did eye his wand curiously. ”You won’t need that for this lesson so you can put it away for now.” And no, that wasn’t a suggestion. He should put it away.

Maybe it would be a nice and normal experience.
"Hello, Professor Moxley," he greeted politely as he made his way further inside, the woman up by her own desk. Looking around for familiar faces, Benny noticed a few, but none of the usual suspects he'd usually sit around, at least in this class where you usually worked together with your desk partner. So the sixth year opted to take a random seat at one of the empty chairs littered around the room wondering where the three in question were before they began.
”Hello, Mr. Atreyu!” Moxley was up and headed towards the door by this point, noting there was only a minute or two before she’d be starting. Hopefully everyone was settled in by this point.

And that smile? It was priceless! The Slytherin’s good mood escalated further. “Hello, Professor Moxley!” he said, a full smile now on his face. Ethan eyed the rest of the class, and was surprised that he was relatively early.

”Mr. Mordaunt, hello!” Someone was in a great mood today, huh? Moxley was pleased to see it as she was in quite the pleasant mood herself. She was also glad he’d made it to class in time. She wanted all the positivity in her room that she could get.

So many peoples were there already! Lux, Zhenya, Toby and a few of his other friends got grins or waves of acknowledgment as Adi made his way to Benny. Hiiii, Benny. Adi flopped onto the seat at the Lion's desk. "What's up, Thor?"
”Hi hi, yourself! I’m doing great, thank you! I hope you are as well?” Hufflepuffs. The urge to squish was strong but she refrained. Mental squishes were happening though.

Not before tripping into it.
Be cool. Be cool, Hugh.
Were salutes in these days? Moxley wasn't sure but she gave one in return, just in case. Had to keep up with the times, y'know. She was a cool professor after all. She also stiffled some serious giggles when Mr. Hughbert gracefully took a seat. So smooth.

The sixth year lioness walked into the classroom with a big smile on her face. "Hello Professor. How are you?" Emmylou asked with a smile and found a seat towards the front of the classroom. She was going to do really good in lessons this term. She did really good last term but she wanted to up her game right now!
"Great thank you, hope the same can be said for you!" Okay, it was time to start. Moxley began to close the door when-

Well, that was quite rude. Moxley raised her eyebrows at the first year but also offered an overly-cheerful, "HELLO!" Because greetings were important to her, yes.
Once the last student was seated, Moxley gave the door a nudge with her foot and locked it. Anyone arriving after this point would need to knock and deal with Moxley's inquiries and she would be asking lots of questions, oh yes. As for the rest of them, it was time to get things started! WHO WAS EXCITED?
Taking center stage, Moxley glanced around the room and smiled radiantly. "Hello everyone! I'm happy to see smiles on so many faces this morning and I trust you've all come ready to learn but just in case, let's strap on our listening ears!" The brunette made a show of pretending to strap on her own, going as far as to do some pretend adjusting, and then giving a little chuckle. "Now then, I'd like to start us off with a question."
Moving to stand behind her desk, the Muggle Studies professor reached down to grab something and after a moment, produced a picture which she showed to the group.
"Can anyone tell me who this gentleman is and anything else you might know about him?"

Jackson just sat at the middle row, waiting for the class to be started while he took his notebook and made a doodle to keep him busy. So far he enjoyed muggle studies class, that's why he wanted Moxley to start soon.
As the Professor started, he closed his notebook and paid attention to her. The Korean guy did notice that she showed them a photograph of an old person. Okay, who was that man? He didn't know very well. "Well uh... I bet he's a very genius muggle that invented something." He raised his hand and answered.
Emmylou beamed at the professor. Ooooh! Yes! Class was starting. So exciting! The sixth year didn't know why she was so happy for Muggle Studies but she really was. Emmylou listened very closely as the Professor spoke. She nodded to let her know that she was listening. Then there was a picture! Pictures were always nice. So they have to figure out who he way. That was a really old picture but Emmylou knew who it was.
Her hand shot up in the air really fast. "That's Alexander Graham Bell, he was an inventor."He had a pretty cool name in her opinion. Her grandmother would lecture her on some history stuff. Mostly muggle but also wizarding stuff too. "He invented the telephone." She had a big proud smile on her face. It wasn't everyday that she would get an answer for a question like that everyday.

Tia couldn't help but feel less stressed when she entered the muggle studies classroom and it had nothing to do with the fact that she was half-blood and knew loads about muggles already. It had something to do with whenever she entered the classroom, Professor Moxley always had a positive vibe about her. A contagious smile.
Studiously taking out parchment and a pencil, the fifth year seated near the back of the room (cause all the seats up close were taken by the time she had arrived!), which just meant she had to work extra hard at paying attention.
And then the professor was starting; with an old photograph. Listening ears. For some reason if Moxley hadn't said that, all the mental images of old inventors would have blurred in Tia's mind but at the mention of ears, Tia's hand shot up.
"That's Alexander Graham Bell, Professor." Tia said knowingly. "Invented the telephone." Yes, she had one of those at her house, so naturally being the inquisitive Ravenclaw she was, she wanted to know who invented each piece of muggle technology in her home.

As more students filed into the classroom, Natalia merely squinted at them through her weary eyelids. She occasionally returned waves at a couple of them who greeted her, Lux who popped down in the desk next to Nat, a Ravenclaw girl (Eden), and Puck. Cool, now Nat could relax her eyes a little bit, releasing all the tension from her body...
Before Natalia could feel satisfied from her little nap, she heard the door being locked and the professor's voice sounding across the classroom. Great, it looked like class was starting despite not getting enough SLEEP. Not even for one more minute? Fine.
Slightly grumpy, Natalia took her legs off the desk and faced the front to where the professor was standing. While attempting to sit up straight, the fourth year managed to fall back with her shoulder blades hitting the top edge of the chair. Uncomfortable. Well, she tried. She was going to have to manage surviving the rest of this class in such a sullen mood. Smile, Nat, SMILE.
*BEAM*
Staring at the monochromatic picture on the board, Natalia recognized man the after a couple of seconds. It was Alexander Graham Bell, wasn't it? The inventor of the telephone. Yes, a great innovator whom Natalia had studied a lot about in muggle primary school. But instead of raising her hands to answer the question, the fourth year remained silent and waited for other students to respond. First of all, she really didn't have the energy to participate. And besides, it would be essentially CHEATING to answer such a obvious question for a muggleborn.

Oh. Wait. Food. Man.
He should've brought her cheesecake, huh? How come he always forgot the important stuff!? Obviously he wasn't cut out for this brown-nosing life style. How did Sophie Brown do it so effortlessly? It wasn't fair. This was not a natural talent of his. Unfortunately. And though his Muggle Studies Professor was obviously kidding around hopefully, Zander wasn't gonna take it so lightly. Merlin, Adair step your game up!
Next time he'd bring her TWO ENTIRE cheesecakes.
Maybe. If he remembered. Which was a lot harder than it sounded. He had been attending Charms class for an entire year and he STILL forgot to bring apples for Professor Q. Not that it'd probably change anything. But you know, STILL.
But anyways, trying to forget the humiliation and trying to will away the slight pink in his cheeks... Zander turned just in time to notice Nat walking into the room. Oh Merlin. Please don't sit here. Please don't sit here. Please don't-- Awh, man. It's like she wanted his life to be painful. She was good at it too. Sigh. Nevertheless, he gave her a small smile, hoping that she'd take things down a notch and play nice. All this sass was kind of hard to deal with in class, y'know? And thank MERLIN Moxley was starting things up and he wouldn't have to worry about small talk.
Also, Nat looked sort of dead. Did she know?
Okay, an O or not, Zander had NO idea who that beard guy was. How DID people know exactly? It always amazed him how smart some of these Hogwartians were. Like they all decided to swallow encyclopedias for breakfast or something. Man, if only he had thought of that before he downed an entire plate full of pancakes. By the way, pancakes did not prepare you for naming some random beard guy. Zander would know. He had four of them this morning. If only Hogwarts served encyclopedia flavor.
But hearing not one, but TWO whole people name the guy as Alexander-von-telephone, Zander knew EXACTLY who that was. Actually, not really but if he was the inventor of the telephone he could figure out the rest. 'Cause Zander didn't really know anything about the creator-beard-man, but he did know a thing about the telephone. HA. So adding to what Tia had just said, "And the telephone is pretty important because before that was the telegraph which could only really send messages with pulses... and stuff... So yeah, he basically expanded on that stuff and made it possible to transmit sounds. So uh, he must be practical. And smart." Information was solid, but boy did he need to work on this presentation stuff.

Did she know who that guy was? Nope. Dot did NOT know who that was. She squinted at the picture of the old bearded guy, first with one eye and then with another. Anything? No. Nope. No clue.
"I'm pretty sure that's Santa, Professor. Or someone's grandpa. I like his beard, though. It's very well maintained." Which was impressive, considering that he was probably Muggle who was alive before the electric clippers.
Eden waved at Clara as she walked in, and figured she didn't want to sit by her because she was sitting by Grayson. She didn't blame Clara...she would catch up with her after class.
She BEAMED at Professor Moxley when she complimented her hair. It was nice when professors APPRECIATED nice things, like blue hair. "Thaaaaank you, Professor." She grinned and ran her fingers through it...the loose ends, at least.
She tilted her head and squinted at the picture...who WAS that..."Um..I'm pretty sure that's George Washington." American historical bloke, right? He had a white beard and stuff. It made sense.
It was totally George Washington.
Actually, Eden had no clue, and it was the only old bearded guy she could think of right now. Plus, he looked American. Totally.

Yes, it's either he's in a good mood, or he consumed too much sugary food before class. The Slytherin was about to nudge his seatmate and discuss guy stuff with Grayson, but the door was closed shut, signalling them that class has begun.
Ethan, without thinking, mimicked Professor Moxley with the 'listening' bit and watched her get a picture of...a guy.
"Mr. Beardy McGenius?" Ethan bit his lip as he lowered his hand. Yup. Too much sugar indeed. "I mean, he looks like a genius..." the Slytherin shrugged as he sat back on his chair and allowed the other smartypants in the room talk.

Haaaaaaaai, everyone!!
Lux sent all the new arrivals waves and smiles. Everyone seemed to be in a good mood for class - Damien especially so. The kiss he gave Rorie was adorable, but of course not approved of by the Professor. Kissing was amazing, just not in class. She had never kissed her boyfriend during a lesson.
As things got started, Lux giggled at Moxley putting on her listening ears. This woman was silly, and it made Muggle Studies even more fun! Taking a careful look at the picture, she raised her hand. She knew a little about muggle inventors, so this question was easy. "That's Alexander Graham Bell. He invented the telephone!" Living around muggles and having parents with muggle jobs, she definitely knew about and had used phones before.
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
"Great! I'm doing juuuuust fine too, Professor!" Adi had no idea why he was extra happy today. Maybe it was something in the air. Hehe.
....................
Adi smirked. He liked being referred to as the God of Mischief! Thank youuuu, Professor Head House, for giving him that role! It was so fitting. Plus Thor an Loki were brothers, though adopted (he was referring to the movies and comics because most of his knowledge was from there) soooo Benny being Thor and hm being Loki was even better. "The sky," he remarked as he set about getting his stationery out for the lesson.
Annnnnd start of the lesson! Adi eyed the bearded, ancient looking man before raising his hand. "I don't know his name but maybe he invented the earphones.'' Moxley had said something about 'listening'. Hehe. How long ago were the earphones invented anyway? Were they THAT old to be invented by that man?
Moxley didn't fool Sophie Brown for a second - she KNEW the woman adored the praise, and the prefect beamed in reply. It wasn't even nice of her to say, she was... "Just bein' honest." Just being honest, professor.
Sophie kept an eye out for someone to sit by her - Tobes entered and took his usual place by the door, which wasn't anything out of the ordinary, but unfortunately there were NO friends who came to sit by her. Way lame. Though... Zander was over there looking awfully uncomfortable with the girl who had sat by him, so maybe Soph would rescue him later.
Yes. Good plan.
For now, Sophie squinted at the picture of the man on the board. She didn't know him, no, but she recognized the name when Emmylou and Tia both identified it as the same person. Yes, okay, she knew who that was, then, but even more interesting than the guy himself was everyone else's interpretation of who it was. Dot and Ethan's guesses got giggles out of her, which she stifled behind her hand.
Creative, they were, and unashamed to look silly. She admired them for that.

Listening ears... AJ could do that. In fact she made sure to adjust them all dramatically just like the professor. Now that they were on all straight she beamed and looked at the picture of the man they were supposed to guess. Hmm... no name was coming to mind. She bet it was something old like William because of his old beard and stuff. It looked like other people knew his name so need to bother with that one.
What did the old dude do? That was a good question too. Since they had to make a thing about their ears she assumed it had something to do with that. Adi had a good guess, but in the end she had to agree with some of the others. "I agree with him being the telephone inventor dude." Great things came from the telephone so mad props to you!
Great day for Muggle Studies indeeeeeeeeeed. Toby flashed another grin at the professor when she commented on HIS cheeriness (it was always nice when people saw him as happy, RIGHT?) and gave her a DOUBLE THUMBS UP.
Soon enough, it was time for class to start. Toby quickly dated and titled his class notes, took a cursory look around the class to see who'd shown up today, then directed his attention back to Moxley. His listening ears were on, yes, listening and ready to learn.
Toby didn't know who that was. Any muggle history stuff he'd learnt back in primary school simply hadn't stuck in his head, perhaps because back then he was even harder to be contained than now. So if he'd been taught it back then, it wasn't in his head now. But he'd give it a guess.
"That," said Toby, hand waving in the air and forcing extra enthusiasm into his answer even though he still wasn't feeling it. "Is a MAN with a PLAN. I mean, look at his FACE. Is that not a look of pure determination?" And a killer beard, too. French would have liked it.

Angel knew who it was but since everyone was saying the correct answer and she wanted to be different she decided to say something else. "Professor it's a man competing in the worlds biggest beard contest right." Angel thought that beard was awesome.
Was that 'hello' for him? Xavi hadn't greeted the professor and he ducked his head a little bit. He should have greeted her. It was rude not to. Now it was too late, so he nodded to acknowledge her greeting and let it go.
He stopped feeling bad about not saying hello when she made a big show of 'putting on her elephant ears' like they were five year olds. Even his nine year old sister would have made fun of the professor for that move.
Alexander Graham Bell. Easy. Everyone knew that. It was like showing a picture of Bill Gates and asking what he did for a living. Since the correct answer had been said already, and in the interest of earning house points, Xavi scoured his brain for any random information he might have about AGB and raised his hand. "Wasn't his wife deaf?" he asked. He'd seen once a cartoon about the man, and either his child or his wife or somebody was deaf. Maybe.

Gabriel had sat with Clara, of course...which was near Hughbert. He'd surrounded himself with his 'people', essentially...since Toby was already sitting with someone. Completely understandable as Toby was one hot commodity...and that was meant in the best way possible.
.
.
AND A SCIENTIST! SCIENCE! The Ravenclaw fought the urge to rattle off all the various things he knew about Alexander Graham Bell...but kept silent. He didn't have to show off his knowledge. People didn't like showoffs, anyway. So, he was going to just...take some notes; with additions, of course. Like....how even though Bell invented to the telephone, he refused to have one put in his office...AND how he'd been a professor to the hearing impaired. He wasn't Einstein, Gabe was quick to mentally point out...but he was still intriguing and impressive.
So, notes. Yes. He was....just going to carry on with those...and contribute, "'Mr. Watson, come here; I want you' was the first thing to be transmitted via his invention."
...and that was going in his notes, too.

Norah beamed at Dot and kicked yellow-high-top-clad feet under the table for house pride reasons. Hufflepuff stuff was ALMOST as good as sparkles so obviously it deserved shoes. Obviously.
She leaned forward to squint at the picture, trying not to grin at Dot's answer. The dude DID look like Santa Clause. Or a normal-er looking Dumbledore like the one on her chocolate frog cards, except he was magical so it wouldn't make sense to be in this class. See THAT? That was thinking before she spoke. Apparently it happened sometimes. But then multiple people mentioned the Graham-Bell guy and she decided to roll with it 'cause she HAD heard of that guy even if she didn't really know what he looked like. Sebby had read a book about him and kept going on and on about it for a bazillion years and believe it or not she HAD listened. Kind of. "I heard that he stole people's ideas and didn't actually come up with the whole phone thing all by himself but maybe people only say that 'cause they're jealous." You couldn't just believe EVERYTHING bad people said, 'cause if somebody was mean they probably weren't very trustworthy. Duh.

Zhenya's concentration perked up when Professor Moxley closed the door. Class was starting. WOOT! Zhenya looked up and gave the Professor her attention, giggling when she put on her listening ears. Zhenya, too, pretended to put on her listening ears, but had self-adjusting ones. They just slipped right on. More giggling.
Zhenya looked at the photo. It was a muggle, surely. Ummm... but who? In fact, what was this lesson about? Zhenya raised her hand, not really knowing who it was. "Uh... Professor is it J.R.R. Tolkien? He's an author."

Woah! Someone alert the media because Ethan Mprdaunt was freaking swaggering. Grayson couldn't help but be proud, as if he had something to do with the coolness factor of it all. He smirked, giving the younger Slytherin approving nods as he sat down next to him. Good! They were gonna have Slytherin bro time, something he was all up for.
One question though: why was Ethan so happy?! Had there been developments? Did Jossie have something to do with this? Wink.
ANYWAYYYYYS. "I dunno what in the name of Merlin you're singing but it sounds like my kinda jam." Given the lyrics and all. C'mon, Mordaunt, give us the song recommendation.
The lesson had started and so did Moxley's madness. Swear to Merlin the woman could give Flamsteed a run for his money. Why was she so freaking chirpy? It was only SCHOOL. Wasn't she meant to be slightly exasperated about the idea of teaching a bunch of hormonal teenagers?
But he didn't have too much time to ponder that. Not when the Slytherin sitting next to him had made an excellent guess as to who the guy in the picture was.
LMAOOOOOOO! Beardy McGenius. LOLOLOLOL.
Grayson laughed wholeheartedly at Ethan's answer. Oh MAN, he was gonna remember that one. What an answer. Some people's answers dead funny but everyone else's answers didn't seem to match up, especially given the fact that most people seemed to know who the guy was. Jeez, how did people know this stuff? According to Grayson, the guy in the picture was just a regular old guy who had done something important in history. Shrug.
But apparently he'd invented the telephone? Alright then, if they said so. Grayson wasn't about to argue with that. "You could say that he started a revolution -- a huge change in society and the way it works -- with his invention." Or something along those lines.
