SPOILER!!: Mustache Buddy! <3 Okay, his sniggers were dying away now though occasionally one would catch in his throat and would result in him passing the thing off as a cough. CoughCoughCough! Adi watched Benny and his facial hair do the labelling, twirling a brown coloured pencil which he had grabbed from the box earlier. As a matter of fact, there were coloured pencils spread across his and Benny's desks. All Adi's doing, of course. He had found it better to empty them all out. He was focusing way too much on the pencils as he wondered which to use for his first hippogriff drawing so he totally missed Benny's sudden movement until it was too late. O__O The quill's sharp point made him flinch for a second. Did you just give me a mustache?'' Adi asked with a laugh when the quill was withdrawn. Hehe. The bestie was picking up on his habits! HE APPROVED! "We're mustache buddies.'' He laughed happily. I bet I looked very distinguished. Cue him pulling on a serious Bruce Wayne look. Hehe. Maybe he was goofing off too much. Time to get back to work! The sixth year began drawing his first Hippogriff. A brown fluffy one. |
Cinna was starting to get comfortable being back on a broom. She watched the ball as it went toward Toby. She zoomed back around the room. When she heard professor Glendower get the attention of the class. The sixth year sadly landed on the floor of the classroom and dismounted. Glad to have the chance to get on a broom. Even if she wasn't on for a long amount of time. But maybe she could come up with a flying game or something. Anything to get her back on a broom again. Cinna went over and looked around at the various items. Now what was she going to figure out for a new game. |
The round platform done now, Beverly made little square boxes and stuck them in quarter intervals around the circle. She was enjoying herself and was probably more into this than she even realized. When these boxes were glued on the cardboard, they looked like little square houses. Using Pingo, she colored each house a different color; green, black, purple and yellow. There. Glancing over at her stash, she picked out the small dragon figurines she found. They were old and have obviously been well used, but she could still tell what they were. A Hungarian Horntail, Norwegian Ridgeback, Common Welsh Green and a Herbridean Black. Sweeeeet! Beverly set those inside the little cardboard houses and set on to the other task. The obstacle of the game. Pesky pixies. For those ones she had to draw them herself, cut them out and multiply them because 1) Glendower didn't have pixie figurines and 2) she wasn't about to cut dozens of pixies herself. |
SPOILER!!: Mustache buddy Laughing....or coughing. It sounded the same right about now. Would almost serve Adi right to get into a coughing fit from laughing so hard. Almost. He himself would still be worried that something was wrong if it really did happen. Espeically with the Hufflepuff absently playing with a sharp object like a colored pencil. Besties have to look out for each other. Except just then Benny's attention had been on the mustache drawing which seemed to have caught the other boy completely by surprise. Benny gave the complete look of innocence as Adi questioned him about his behavior. Nope...no mustache there. Though it was short-lived as he couldn't completely hide his amusement at taking his best friend by surprise for once. "Yep...we are," he agreed with a nod. "And you do." But now it was time to go back to work he supposed, the Gryffindor changing from doing his numbering that he had finished up, to deciding where his first dragon was going. Without a beard. |
Kate had no idea if they were supposed to keep their same partner and just start on the new activity, or if they needed to find a new partner or possibly work alone. She didn't have a lot of time to figure that out, though, so she decided to just head up to the supplies section and see what came to mind. She stood there and took note of what she saw, hoping something would come to mind. A few things did, but they were all just variations of games that had already been created. There was nothing unique about her ideas at all. She needed to come up with something new and different, something that hadn't been done before. She found herself grabbing a hand full of butterbeer caps. She didn't know what she planned to do with them yet, but they seemed useful. She then grabbed some cardboard and some multi-colored pens. Some ideas were starting to come to mind. |
SPOILER!!: Leader of the Bats xD If he by chance was going to die from a coughing fit, then Benny would try to save him, right? Man, he could not stop his cough/ laughing. Was he going to be laughing this much if later down in life Benny did decide to sport a hairy face. "Here's a tip. Don't have such a long beard.'' Without further ado, the sixth year raised his wand and used the Trimming Charm to to alter the beard before vanishing the trimmings and surveying his work. "Much better.'' Pffft. One can always tell when Benny was up to something. No, wait strike that. ADI could always tell because his friend's innocent look could fool them. Not him, though. There was always something different about the look Benny wore. No fooling the Hippogriff, Dragon. As Benny worked on one end of the card board, Adi continued filling the squares with tiny Hippogriffs. He had decided to animate them to fly to and from squares indicating the squares where the Gobstone would have to climb up to. ....................... "I think I've done enough griffs,'' Adi commented minutes later, setting down an orange pencil. "Soooo, the spell is Animatae and we trace our wands over the drawing we want to move.'' He paused for a moment then traced out the first Griff he had drawn. "Animatae!'' Adi continued tracing his wand up to a few rows up from number 3 to 21. The Griff flapped to and fro the numbers. This meant that the Griff took the player from number 3 straight to 21. The Griff was the ladder, after all. |
Kate took a seat and laid the cardboard, butterbeer caps, and pens in front of her. On the way back to her desk, she'd figured out that she wanted to create some sort of wizarding board game. She'd come up with a name later on. The butterbeer caps would be the pieces, and she'd use the pens to create the board. Kate used her wand to change the color of the butterbeer caps. She made them red, green, blue, yellow, purple, and orange. So that meant up to six people could play at a time, but if you wanted, you could play by yourself, too. Then Kate set to work drawing a maze of squares, with one square marking the 'start' of the game, and another square marking the 'end' of the game. Now that she had her set-up, she just needed to figure out what she should write on each square and what the goal of the game was. |
SPOILER!!: Adi He was busy concentrating on his drawing that Benny hadn't registered that Adi's attention was once more on his face...his beard especially. "Huh..." he questioned as the topic of its length came up, looking back up from his work just in time for the Hufflepuff to act with his wand out. What was he doin---oh---trimming it. Ben lifted his left hand up to feel the new length before nodding slightly. "Better." It didn't move as much when he did now. Going back to his work, there were now various types of dragons, some with beards, intersperced with Adi's hippogriffs until they met in the middle. The other boy was the first to claim them complete and he had to agree. Now for the spell, the Gryffindor paying strict attention so he actually learned it this time. "Animatae!'' he cast, taking aim and tracing at the nearest dragon on the board. Ooooo it moved! |
She had all of the supplies she needed, so she set straight to work. The cardboard boxes, scissors and random supplies were getting the most attention because she had to make things that would make an obstacle course fun. Also, she had to keep in mind that the person going through the obstacle course would be wearing sticky trainers so wouldn't be able to jump really. Hmm... did she really think this all the way through? It was too late to turn back now. She was just going to have to see this through. AJ cut out pieces of cardboard and made rings out of them. She made sure to tape the ends. It was supposed to resemble car tires. Yup, that was going to be one of the obstacles. She had eight in total. They would be set up in twos. Surely that wouldn't be too hard with the trainers. Oh. Something just came to her. The beginning of the obstacle course would begin on the wall. Yes. Okay. So, the person climbing up the wall would have to walk up it without getting hit by the joke gobstones. Could she make them softer? No. That would be lame. The person could wear a helmet if need be. Next thing she did was make a hoop, some cones, and a bar all out of cardboard pieces. Things were coming together. Hopefully this wouldn't be a hot mess. |

Shrugging with one shoulder she laughed as Angel mentioned Monopoly. ”Yes! Sounds great.” She smiled as she grabbed a bit of paper from the table so that they could write down different ideas. ”how do you think we could mix them? Oh! We could do a Hogwarts School monopoly for the students. And have the ghosts be the totem thingies… and you could trade house points?” Did that sound silly? Who cared… What did Angel think! |
SPOILER!!: Creative Buddy! <3 Adi grinned. Yes, this new, trimmed beard was a whole lot better. He was having a glimpse of the future Benny yet again. The last time being when that weird aging thingy had taken over Hogwarts. ................ The Puffer took a break from animating his Griffs to watch Benny do his thing. Awh, look at the Dragons! One or two may be breathing harmless fire as they moved about. Their game would totally rock! Now, to go back to animating the Hippogriffs! They were finished being animated in now time. Adi set down his wand to survey his and Benny's work. See, this is why he like working with Benny (aside from AJ). They worked well together. It was practice for their future with creatures. "I think we're done.'' Yeaaaah! They were! They cardboard looked so awesome with the two creatures. "How about a game, Benny?" Adi scooped up a yellow Gobstone and the die. He handed the latter object over. "You first.'' |

Angel then heard what Marsha said, and her eyes lit up. "OMG!!" Angel was totally down for this game. "We could have the classrooms as what the students buy, and we could have the Quidditch stadium and Gobstone area as the special place." Angel was totally enjoying this. "The house points could be won and lost by landing on different squares." Angel was so down for a Hogwarts monopoly game, she would totally play it. "We could even have the game magical so when you buy a property it shows you the picture of the place like filing up." |
SPOILER!!: Henric Ilia chuckled at his comment of pronouncing the names of the broom games. He had never even heard of them? She smiled when he said that she would have to show him how to play them. "Maybe this summer?" She already had sent a few letters to her uncles so hopefully it would be okay with his parents too. He seemed to figure it out just fine. They were most of the way through their 'teaching game' when the professor had a new idea.....make their own games? She really wasn't sure about that....she had never 'made' a game before and looked puzzled at the prospect. Looking at Henric , then the box, then back to her best friend she wrinkled her nose in thought. "Have you ever made a game before?" Henric seemed like he might have had more exposure to this sort of thing than she did, so perhaps he would be better at it. |
Soooooooo... Toby hadn't exactly made much headway so far. He'd taken to listing down all this favourite things, the most fun things, things he liked. And MAYBE (maybe) he could sort of... smoosh them all together and make them into a cool fun game. And add magic... OR if it was a game played on brooms, maybe he'd not have to worry about adding more magic in. Yes... yeeeees... tactical thinking. So far, his list read as such: Quote:
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand... he'd become distracted. Very distracted. Toby blinked, realised he was halfway through a (poor) doodle of a cow with fairy wings in his notes, and put down his quill. Stretching his arms out, he leeeeeeeeeeaned backwards on two legs of his chair, made a tiny garbled noise that bordered on frustration, and looked around to see or hear what those near him had come up with, maybe give him some ideas. Or perhaps Glendower would take pity on him, and realise he was a FREE SPIRIT and maybe fly around on a broom again until he accidentally thought up a game that way. Liiiiiiike... How Many Spins Can You Do Before You Get Too Dizzy To Stay On Your Broom And End Up Falling Off. That could be a fun game (in fact, Toby knew it was... he'd played it before), but somehow that didn't sound like what the professor was looking for. He did like his last idea that was on his parchment, but wasn't sure it was suitable or anything. Streeeeeeeeetch. Sigh. What do. |
Glow sticks? She was definitely going to have to use those. She grabbed up eight of them. Apparently this was going to be a two on two with two glow sticks each. Looking around for so thing else to use. She found some straps like something muggles used to tie things down with. She tied one around her waist. Hmmmmm She had it! Glow stick flying flag tag. Boy that was a mouthful but it got straight to the name of the game, didn't it? Now all she needed was some thing to use as flags or for flags. She rummaged around through the boxes a bit more. She knew exactly what she needed or something similar to it. She was just about to give up when she found exactly what she was looking for. Tada! Ribbon! Perfect. She cut four strips of the ribbon all the same size. She done a dozen more strips giving four for each strap. What about the glow sticks thought? She attached two of the glow sticks to the each side of the straps as well. There, it looked pretty similar to the way she had it pictured in her head. |
Pixies cut out and multiplied, she charmed them to flutter about, setting a boundary around the round platform. It's purpose obviously to keep said pixies inside. Now it was time to charm the dragons! This was the excited bit. The game was almost done and she'd be able to give a go. Concentrating and tapping each dragon with her wand, the Slytherin watched them twitch to life. She loved charms, she really does. They were so useful. That done now, she took a large parchment sheet and wrote down what her game basically was... SPOILER!!: Beverly Wayne's Starving Starving Dragons Game |
SPOILER!!: Lux Zhenya was super happy to have a partner now. And not just any partner; a LUX partner! She listened to the suggestions Lux had, which were great. "That sounds great! People will actually know what cap is theirs then." That was important, as surely there could be fights over the game if people got their caps mixed up. Zhenya watched as Lux changed them all into the different colours using Colovaria. "That looks awesome Lux!" And then Lux suggested something else. Design suggestions. "Wow that would be so cool! Um... obviously potions would be a cauldron, and Herbology... a pot with a plant? Um... what animal would you suggest?" Zhenya had a bit of a think of different things they could do. She wrote down a few dot points under each subject. SPOILER!!: Parchment Zhenya showed Lux, "Did you have any other suggestions?" |
Quote:
Reading all the ideas that were jotted down on the piece of paper, she felt that they were all very good. "How about a pestle and mortar and vials for potions too?" Got to give her favourite subject some love. Hehe. And as to animals... "How about mermaids, dragons, and unicorns?" Any - or all - of those were really good in her opinion. Look at their game take shape already! |
SPOILER!!: Parchment There, Zhenya wrote down the other suggestions. "Awesome, we have heaps now!" The decorating part would be a lot of fun. She thought about what Lux had originally said... "So... we could do the board game into a shape, like you suggested, then decorate it with all these things?" Was that okay? "Did you want to be in charge of cutting the shape of the board?" Zhenya asked, seeing as it was her awesome suggestion. Lux could chose what shape it took of course. "I can cut the other cardboard into little trivia shaped cards whilst you do that, then we can decorate them and write the questions?" Zhenya wasn't sure if that sounded like a good plan, but it was a suggestion anyway. |
Now she needed to organize her thoughts as too what exactly she was going to do. On one of the straps not the one that was around her. She looped and slip knotted four of the ribbon pieces two on the front and two on the back. It didn't look to fashionable but who cared it was going to be fun. She tested out the knot to make sure it slipped out easily but not too easily. She took off the strap from around her and designed it just the same way that she did the first. She done the same thing with the other two. There now looking at them altogether they really did look good. She was quite happy with the way they turned out. Now for the time that she was kind is dreading. Writhing out the game. Which she should change the name or shorten it. She wrote down the rough draft of her game. Quote:

”I seem to remember that the properties got more expensive as you got round the board? Instead of Jail, we could have detention… and what if the most expensive places are … maybe the Black Lake and the Great Hall?” Marsha was just saying lots of different options. She had no idea what would and wouldn’t work - but this was fun! ”Oh, that would be awesome. It could have an empty abandoned picture of the classroom for its image, and then when someone buys it, it could look like class was in session? OH! Could we have like a badger and a snake and a sorting hat as the play pieces?” Woah, she would totally play this. |
Quote:
Lux was looking forward to this, because arts and crafts were a lot of fun. Designing and cutting out the game board sounded cool, and she was more than willing to work on that while Zhenya took care of the trivia cards. This shouldn't take long, and then they could work on the questions. There would be loads of them to write down! "Sounds good to me!" Picking up her pencil, Lux set about tracing out the shape for the game board. Originally she had considered making it in the shape of a mermaid, but on second thought it would be amazing if it looked like Hogwarts. Maybe not the easiest thing to draw, but it wasn't as if she didn't have an eraser. Once she had what looked like an awesome castle, Lux slowly and carefully cut it out. "How does this look?" It was a pretty awesome Hogwarts in her opinion. |
Zhenya was glad the plan sounded okay. She took some scissors a ruler and a marker and lined up the cardboard evenly so that she could cut out the cardboard into the right size to use as the trivia cards. She picked up the scissors and cut them out. There were lots of different colours, which would be good. Colourful kept the eyes keen. Oh yes. Once she had finished that, it seemed Lux had finished too. Zhenya looked at the cardboard for the game and her mouth dropped open. It was Hogwarts! "Lux! That's... that's incredible," she said. A Hogwarts castle board game design. It was genius! Absolutely genius! It was a trivia game set out by the subjects, what else could the game board be shaped like besides Hogwarts? "Lux it's perfect!" Once Zhenya had looked at it long enough, which wasn't long enough actually, she asked "Should we come up with the questions now or design the board and cards?" She wanted to design stuff, the fun bit, but did they need questions first? |
SPOILER!!: llia! "This summer?!" Henric repeated her.His face brighten up at he suggestion,"Really? I can go over to your place and spend summer there? But what about your mum?"he asked, frowning a little.Henric thought it would probably be an inconvenience to Mrs.Valke, you know, because of his background.Being thought as a muggleborn and all that...which he had yet to tell llia, he wasn't. And of course, they couldn't go to his muggletown area and fly around with broomsticks too. He was not doing good at all with the wizard chess game because his pieces were ultimately destroyed by llia chess pieces everytime he made a move. But it was still fun watching the mayhem these chess pieces did.Awww...too bad they had to finish up the game. Henric nodded his head,"Yeah, plenty of times with my dad, we made up quite a number of weird dares to see who can beat each other out with our own game,"he added. Henric peeked through the choices," How about we use the chocolate frog cards and play "Guess who?" game, its simple we can make a head gear with the cardboards and put the card on it, we can't see our own cards but each other's, we can only ask each other questions too, whoever guess it wrong...we each have a gobstone in our hands as a punishment,I don't mind..I always want to have a mustache one day, what better way to have this game, its perfect...brilliant!"he exclaimed. He wasn't sure if llia like the idea of a mustache or a beard growing on her face but it certainly sounded fun in his ears. |
Hmm, students seemed a little slow to start or maybe it was just reluctance to give up the game playing for game inventing. Nessa walked around a bit, making sure no one needed assistance and to check progress. She knew she had creative little souls in her class, so she was rather excited to see what they'd come up with. Some of the combination of supplies that some had taken were quite interesting. And she was glad to see that Adi and Benjamin were still working together and having fun. Their friendship really seemed to be on the mend, but she did hope that Henric was not getting pushed to the side now. There was room for many friends. It seemed like many were opting to go the board game route, though she'd have to say that she was surprised more would not opt to use one of the brooms. She did notice that a few of the were flying on them earlier of course. Perhaps one of the students busy scribbling away in their notes were thinking up a marvelous new broom game. It was just too bad that no one had finished in time to show it off to the class. She noticed that yet again, time was creeping past the end of class. That was a bit disappointing. "Alright, everyone, unfortunately time is up for the day," she said a little sadly. "I wish that we had time to play some of the games that you certainly had come up with." Though she did see a few of them in the process, so maybe some had gotten further than others. "We can finish these up for homework, which will be posted on your noticeboards shortly. But class is over for today. Please finish up whatever you were doing and put everything that you had gotten out away." This room was kind of a mess now and she'd have her work cut out for her if they didn't at least put the stuff back in the boxes. |
