SPOILER!!: Tobias Apparently she wasn't the only one who was mega pumped over the broom situation. The older Hufflepuff that went by the name of Toby was rushing up to grab him a broom too. Okay. She would watch what he did. It couldn't be that complicated... Oh wow. He was a natural. Looks like he had loads of practice. Too bad AJ didn't. Flying AND ball throwing. Yes, she was down. In fact her cheeks were sure to start hurting at any moment from the amount of beaming she was doing. "I'd love to." Since she was the one on the ground, it made sense for her to grab a ball. She took her broom with her as she looked in the box. Didn't want anybody snagging it, did she? Well, would you looky there. They had them a ball. What kind of ball it was, she wasn't sure. It would get the job done. "Heads up," she cried as she tossed the ball to what would hopefully be a new friend. Now she needed to get airborne. AJ kicked off from the ground and was instantly in the air. It was crazy that she had rode a dragon before a broom. Right, Hogwarts. THAT made sense. Her hair was whipping behind her, and she was immediately in a happy place. This was the life. She needed a broom of her own. It was decided. |
Anyone? :3 THEY WERE GOING TO PLAY GAMES. YESSSSS. Lux loved games because they were fun. She was going to try one out, but definitely not something that involved a broom. Her feet were staying firmly on the ground this lesson. Checking out the boxes, she wondered what she was in the mood to play. She also needed someone to play with, but that wouldn't be hard to sort out. She really wanted to play with Bay, but he wasn't here so that would have to wait until the next time she saw him. Oh. Exploding Snap. Taking the cards out of the box, she looked around. "Anyone want to play with me?" They could play the normal way or make a house of cards. Lux didn't mind either way! |
*Claims* Quote:
He wondered who he could partner with? He puckered his lips and looked around and noticed Lux was sitting there alone. He nodded and made his way over. "Hey Cucumber..." he grinned. "Ready to play or do you have someone already as your partner?" |
Anyone? Ohh, they were going to play games?! Awesome! Kate loved when classes consisted of things like games, matches, crafts, and the such. It made learning so much more fun! Kate watched as the many different varieties were brought out. There were broom games, games you had to play by yourself, and then games you needed a friend to play, too. Kate decided she wanted to play a game with someone, not all by herself. "Does anyone want to partner with me for a game?" she asked, looking around the room. She didn't know which game she wanted to play. She just didn't think playing a game by herself would be all that fun. |

Heads up Hearing the girl - she was one of the Valentine triplets, and one of the two Gryffindor ones at that, but Toby couldn't tell them apart other than that and he was awful at names anyway - call out, Toby looked over and snatched the ball out of the air as it flew towards him. Oh maaaan, he was getting a RUSH, already. It was almost like being on a Quidditch pitch again. Except they were in a classroom, so there was EXTRA novelty. He slowed the pace down a little as soon as she kicked off, so that now he was gliding around, steering the broom with his knees when necessary. "Back atcha!" Toby had learnt looooong ago the body language and stuff that meant someone was ready to be thrown a Quaffle or something, so when he was sure the Valentine girl was ready, he threw the ball back, letting it soar across the classroom towards his NEW FLYING FRIEND. |
Quote:
"Hey! I'm ready to go." She smiled at her bestie. Nope, she didn't have a partner besides him. finished shuffling the cards, she sat down on the floor and placed them on the ground in front of her. "You want to play the traditional way? Or try making a house of cards?" Lux hadn't decided what she wanted to do and it was only right to ask Kace if he had any preference. |
Claiming Kate Quote:
"I'm Dot. Do you have a preference which game you want to play? You can pick. I don't mind." |
Quote:
Lucky for her, she didn't really have time to start feeling sorry for herself. An older Slytherin girl approached her, which made Kate feel super cool. "Hey, Dot. I'm Kate," she said. Oh, and Kate got to pick the game? She should have really been thinking this one through, because she hadn't even looked to see what the professor really had. "Hmm...okay, Exploding Snaps," she said, and since Dot gave her the liberty of deciding the game, Kate figured that was okay. She went to collect a set of cards and brought them back to Dot. "You let me choose the game, so you want to go first?" That may have been a bad move on Kate's part, but she figured Dot was probably going to win this thing anyway. |
Quote:
"Sure, I've played before. I'm not super great at it, but I'm not sure we care who wins, do we?" Strange thing, being a Slytherin and not caring about winning. She measured success in other ways. Dot seated herself at a desk and gestured for Kate to sit across from her. "I'm going to deal first and lay down a card, and then you play." She dealt out half the deck to each of them and then flipped over her first card. |
Goodness she wasn't embarrassed but goodness that would have only happened to her. She had fallen asleep on the couch in the common room and must have gotten completely confused by the time or something. Anyway she was here and had definitely made an entrance this lesson. She nodded at the professor. "I will certainly do that next time, professor." Phew that was close she thought she would have to stay after class and write line or something. Imagine an afternoon of writing I will not be late for class. I will not be late for class. until her hand fell off. Nah, Glendower wouldn't punished her with lines. Epppp There was BROOMS. SHE WANTED ONE!!! She was going to get to fly. Like really fly! Speaking of writing lines she bet she had plenty of note lines to catch up with. Especially in History of magic. Even with a professor like Glendower. It was kind of a given with the subject. In the corner of her eye she seen Eden waving and holding up her notes in the air. The sixth year turned and smiled. "Thank, E." She gave her another smile and beamed. Taking the notes she quickly copied down the notes that Eden had. Sweet! Once she was finished catching up she put Eden's notebook back on the desk she was at. Heading too the brooms. Come to mama. She got one and hopped on kicking off with her feet. Careful not to knock anyone in the head with her feet. She was flying. Flying. This was great. Flying around the room she seen AJ and Toby "Hey guys mind if I join you two?" Hopefully three wasn't a crowd. Seeing as they were already tossing together. She didn't care. She was flying and that just made her happy as a lark. They were the happiest of birds apparently. |

Kate took the seat opposite Dot and watched her deal the cards, all the while nodding at the instructions the older girl was giving her. Kate flipped over her first card, as well. "Bowtruckles," she said aloud, which didn't match the card Dot had flipped over. She flinched, thinking the cards might suddenly explode, but they didn't. At least, they hadn't yet. "Mmkay, your turn again." Dot needed a Bowtruckles card to match the one Kate had just put down, and if she had a match, she might get the first part. Kate held her breath as she waited to see what would happen. |

Oh, her turn again? Dot turned over her next card, and said, "Bowtruckles"... oh, wait! That's what Kate just said, right? Where was her wand? She scrabbled briefly for it before tapping the top of the pile, which fizzled slightly. "That's one for me. Right off the pitch, too. Your card." |
Text Cut: Dot Kate frowned a little as Dot earned a point. Okay, so maybe she did care just a little bit if she won or lose. Just a little bit. She knew it didn't mean a lot, but imagine the glory of being a second year and beating out a--..."So what year are you?" she asked. Kate couldn't remember if she'd heard the girl say or not, and she didn't even remember if she told her she was a second year. "And what's it like in Slytherin house? Stereotypes say you're supposed to care about winning." She grinned. "Those aren't always right, though. This guy named Brian thinks that all Ravenclaws sit around the common room looking at each other through reading glasses and talking about chemistry." Kate didn't know anything about chemistry. She'd wasted too much time, though, and SNAP! ...and THAT was why they called this game Exploding Snap. The cards they'd already laid down spontaneously exploded in a small poof of smoke--right in Kate's face. "Well that wasn't cool," Kate said, a little embarrassed. Oh, right. She needed to lay down a card. "Mountain Troll," she said, revealing the card. |
Toby & Cinna This was exhilarating. Too bad they could take these brooms out for a real ride. She couldn't help but to be more intrigued with the game of Quidditch. AJ would be so good at it; she just knew. What were those bat things called? She wanted one of those. That could make this whole ball throwing thing even more fun. They were in a classroom though. She doubted Glendower would go for that though. That was an accident waiting to happen. While she was enjoying herself she heard a voice asking to join them. Turning to see who it was, she was pleased to see Cinna. "Hey Cinna... you're more than welcome," she said with a smile. AJ couldn't imagine Toby minding. Speaking of Toby...did he even know her name? She did share the same face with another lion. Of course Angel always wore make-up and her hair was perfect at all times. AJ was pretty much the exact opposite of that. "I'm AJ by the way... the fun one." In case he was wondering. Toby sent the ball sailing towards her, and she caught it with ease. With a smile still firmly in place, she located Cinna once more. "Let's see what you got." The fourth year chucked the ball towards the older lion. |
SPOILER!!: Adi Benny wasn't anymore prepared for the bishop's remark that Adi appeared to be, his eyebrow raised slightly in reaction. Now that would be overwhelming proof that Wizard's chess was so much more...colorful and interesting...than its muggle equivolent. As for the move directed by Adi, the Gryffindor had to look the board over and count out spots before he registered the incorrectness of the move. A realization that occured just after the fiesty bishop had made it known. Would you look at that...a chess set that actually taught you how to play. Albeit a touch rudely. "Neither do I....fully," he admitted to show his bestie they were almost in the exact same boat. He had commented that his knowledge was limited. "How about Queen's Knight up and the left..." he mused, not sure of the correct terminology. The piece seemed to get what he was hinting at anyway. |
SPOILER!!: Equally lost bestie! <3 Adi caught Henric looking his way and was about to send his friend a grin and a wave. Actually, his hand was halfway up already but then he remembered Benny was sitting right there with him and quickly passed the action of as rumpling his dark hair. Adi had told himself that for a while he would cool it with all the hanging out and attention he had been giving Henric. Instead, he shook his head at Benny's raised eyebrow. Here's to sassy chess pieces. Hehe. "You seem to know a whole lot more than I do,'' the Hufflepuff remarked as Benny's knight took off. There was a scoff from Adi's sassy bishop. "You're both dunderheads.'' "Hey! He's not a dunderhead! Watch yourself or else I'm going to put Silencio on you for the rest of your life.'' No one was going to insult his best friend in front of him. He waved his wand threateningly at the bishop. "Right. Rook, forward to A5.'' He eyed the Bishop. "Did I get that right?'' "Yes, Rooks can move as far as they like forward.'' Hehe. The poor Bishop was obviously afraid of the Silencing Charm. It sounded a bit sulky in its tiny voice. |

As he said they would build a house, she nodded. "Sounds good to me! Maybe I can refresh your memory later." Unless they had time to do it after making their house of cards; Lux didn't know how long Professor Glendower was going to let them play with the toys. As it was, she carefully added some cards to the base he had created. |
Quote:
She laughed a little at his expressions and what he said but shook her head."Its the same as muggle chess as far as I can tell, simply our pieces are enchanted and you must call out the grid space for them to move to." She pointed to the squares on the board. "Its still has ranks 1 through 8 and Files A through H. So simply call out the space and the piece will move. You are white, so you go first." She looked the board over and thought for a moment. "Did you play muggle chess?" If he hadn't.........then this was going to become a teaching game really fast. |
Free for anyone - just tell me on Twitter/VM <3 SPOILER!!: Cutty There wasn’t much that Marsha didn’t giggle or grin at - and Cutty thinking that she would “sehrve” him wasn’t one of them. A giggle escaped from her lips as she raised a single eyebrow as if to say ’You wish.’ She liked Cutty as a friend but she only served animals! Yup. Animals were the best thing ever. Wait… What? Who is a Golden God? What… She had missed something, right? Her eyebrows furrowed, however before she could question him on it, class started. Marsha had been away to say that they played for the excitement, but one of the older kids had gotten there first. Waiting as she took notes on what her classmates and the Professor were saying. As they were asked about how games lasted, she raised her hand. ”Professor, maybe games last if they are passed down? Like our parents and grandparents liked quidditch so we grew up with it…?” She didn’t know, she really liked watching Quidditch though. Hehe. Oh, Games! Awesome. Moving from where she was sitting next to Cutty, Marsha bounded up to the boxes to see what she could find… And someone to play with her of course. She should have asked Cutty before she had run up here… Griffin. Whoops. Oh well, she looked around the box, wondering if she should play something she knew or something she didn’t… Hmmm. |
SPOILER!!: Professor! She had just put the foundation of her exploding house down, when she was joined by none other than Professor Glendower. Zhenya smiled, "I never could either. A standard one storey house was all we could get. My dad could build it bigger, but it always exploded." They were the nostalgic memories of her childhood, pre-hogwarts. "What other games did you play with the exploding cards?" she asked, curious. Zhenya had only really done house of cards and snap, plus some fish game her mother had taught them. Zhenya tried to balance two cards in one hand so she could join a third to make them stand. She carefully withdrew her hands to see if it would hold, which it did, before she slowly pulled her hands back. |

A puzzling expression has appeared on his face as soon as she started explaining the foundation of the game. Henric shook his head,"Well...I've seen people play both muggle chess and wizard's chess before but I've never tried it myself..."he replied to her."So I just call them to move?he asked again. Alright,alright,alright...he was going to make the first move.Cool. He should move one of his pawn pieces first then...no idea why but he did it anyway."E2 to E4..."he said and watched his chess piece moved to its designated position. Ooohh...nice. |
Cinna + AJ rahhhh "Sure," Toby replied, grinning at Cinna as he nyoomed around the class. "The more the merrier." Mostly he was PUMPED about getting to fly at all, which put him in a great mood, but Toby ALWAYS loved working or playing or just being with groups of people. Man... it had been Christmas since he'd last flown, which didn't SOUND like a long time to most people, probably. But it was to Toby. That, of course, had been when the Wanderers had let him train with them, but it had also been when he'd not been all that happy 'cause of other things. And he was happier now, which made it all the better. Huh? What? OH! "AJ!" Toby repeated, nodding his head. "Right, okay. Got it. AJ. I'll remember that." Such a statement would remain to be seen. While AJ threw the ball off to Cinna, Toby sped up a little as his circled the room. He couldn't help it; sometimes he just got that itch to go faster whether on a broom or running or just living his life. He did, however, keep an eye on Cinna so he was prepared if she threw the ball to him. Nyooooooooom. |

"Hello." Angel said suddenly and shyly she didn't want to scare the other girl. "You want to play a game with me?" |
Toby and AJ "Great!" She rubbed her hands together and returned the grin to both of them. She zoomed off around the room. It was a small area but still good to be back on one. It felt like it had been forever since she'd been on one. It was probably forever since she had. She flew back toward the other two. Stopping when AJ wanted to see what she had. Following the ball she flew over toward it. Catching it one handed she tucked it under her arm just as if she was playing on out a pitch. She flew around Toby. It was great just flying around. She flew out a ways. She was ready to toss it off to Toby Good he was paying attention. Someone looked very happy to be back on s broom. She definitely knew that feeling. "Heads up, Toby!" She sent the ball to him. Zooming off just to fly around the room. Good to see she could still do this. |
