Hogwarts RPG Name: TBD Gryffindor Hogwarts RPG Name: Zara H. Bunbury-Foster Slytherin Fifth Year | Herbology Homework 1 Professor Pink | Mrs. Bruce Wayne | I'm on a Goat | Glitterpuff | Dumbledore's Defense Squad | BHB IC: For the next two to three months, you need to regularly check on your potted mandrake(s) and document their growth and development. I will expect at least three journal entries from you describing your observations of their health and progress. You may be as creative as you'd like with these entries, but be sure to include the date of the entry and at least a parchment of length per entry.
Regular visits to your mandrake in Greenhouse Three, as well as checking that they are receiving enough sunlight in the greenhouse and enough water, are mandatory as well. I will collect your journals at our last Herbology class this term.
Any questions? You know where to find me. OOC: To receive full credit on this assignment, you need to do at least one IC post in the Greenhouses where you can RP checking on your mandrake and watering it/sketching it/writing your journal entry/etc.
THEN, you need to actually write out the three journal entries (each should be about a paragraph) and submit those on the homework questionnaire along with the link to your Greenhouse RP post. Be sure you include your character's name, your member number, and your House too.
You do NOT have to do a sketch or do anything crazy-fancy with these, but I do give more points for thinking outside the box and being entertained by your posts! So have fun with this! Remember that in your journal entries, your mandrakes will be growing, getting feistier, acting like rowdy teenagers, developing acne, and toward the end, trying to move into each others' pots! Hehe. I know Bunz said you have three months to complete these journals, but my next lesson is scheduled for July 13. So I need your homeworks by 11:59 PM EST on July 12.
To sum, that's- one post in the Greenhouses
- three journal entries, each a paragraph long, spaced out over the course of the three months
- submit Greenhouse RP link + three journals + member ID on the homework questionnaire
Thank you, luffs! PM me with questions.

Hogwarts RPG Name: TBD Gryffindor Hogwarts RPG Name: Zara H. Bunbury-Foster Slytherin Fifth Year | Chalkboard Notes, from Herbology Lesson 2 Professor Pink | Mrs. Bruce Wayne | I'm on a Goat | Glitterpuff | Dumbledore's Defense Squad | BHB Since we did not finish the second lesson.... here is the OFFICIAL way to harvest a mandrake. HOW TO HARVEST AN ADULT MANDRAKE:- Put on your earmuffs.
- Pull mandrake from the pot and stun the mandrake as soon as it emerges (or you can stun first and pull second).
- Check the mandrake for signs of aging/verify that it is an adult.
- Using diffindo, separate the top of the mandrake (leafy part) from the root.
- Scrub the mandrake root clean, so no dirt remains on it.
- Dry the mandrake (preferably using magic).
- Use a potions knife or wand to cut the mandrake root at an angle in small, even slices.
- Place the sliced mandrake a jar and label it appropriately. You're finished!
If you have any questions, please contact me before term ends. THIS IS IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO KNOW for an Herbologist of any level.
Yours, A. Truebridge
