Gobstones Consolation Match: Gryffindor vs. Slytherin

http://i827.photobucket.com/albums/z...atchBanner.jpg
The building used for the Gobstones matches had had its doors closed against the winter's cold. Its surfaces magically dusted by Professor Tanner and Mr. Kitridge, the school's Gobstones sponsors, and made ready for the term's consolation match.

The red and green marbles were set out and the playing 'field' had been marked. Chairs were set out on each side of the arena creating a Viewing Area for those not playing.
OOC: Remember only members sorted into Gryffindor and Slytherin Houses can post in this thread, it is not a chat thread and there is no RPing.

Read the Gobstones Rulebook before playing and if you did last term, please check again for potential updates and changes.

Tiara had arrived early to this match, wanting to make sure the room had time to heat up. As she entered, she made sure to securely latch the doors against the December cold. Taking her wand out, the first order of business was to get fires lit in the numerous grates around the room.

Eventually the teams and fans began to arrive. When the start time was upon them, she cleared her throat loudly for attention. "Good morning and welcome to the Gobstones Consolation Match for this term, pitting Gryffindor against Slytherin. Shall we begin? Players take your places!"

Both houses were eager to get going, as evidenced by the multiple students that wanted to roll first. Zeke Rogers took the first roll for Gryffindor, his stone landing about six inches from the goal. Cilla Ashcroft stepped up for Slytherin, and as she let go, it was obvious immediately the marble would land closer. "The first point of the mach goes to Slytherin!"

Advisor's note: The first answer from Gryffindor was incorrect; since Slytherin's first answer was correct, they receive the point.

Leo arrived to the Gobstones building a little late. He had been held up in the Entrance hall but could as he warmed his cold hands note that Tiara had started the match. As Ethan and Jackson took to the court Leo signalled for them to swing their shooters. The green stone rolled only a few meters before it stopped and oozed out a heavily smelly gush of gob straight at the benches. The red stone surpassed its opponent and around some obstacles before it too stopped.

"2 points to Gryffindor!" Leo declared.

Hwang and Mordaunt took to the court again. Jackson seemed to have picked up some sort of luck on the bench during the short break. He was getting his house's stone closer and closer to the Slytherin's stone, and the goal in extension. "Gryffindor scores 3 new points at the end of the first round. Gryffindor leads 5-1, as we head into the second round!" Leo declared.

Hwang and Mordaunt were the shooters for both sides yet again. It could be that someone thought they were hogging the spotlight, because two Gryffindor stones were rolled at once. All three marbles immediately shot their foul liquid straight at Emmylou Duchannes. "Point to Slytherin by rule. One roll per round, please, Gryffindor." Slytherin's marble was the closest anyways, so it didn't matter much. And.. maybe a towel would help.

Advisor's Note: Remember, only one answer per house if it's over five minutes apart! :-)

Finally, new players stepped forward from both houses - Atreyu for Gryffindor and Paton for Slytherin. The red stone was released first, and the green stone that came afterwards just couldn't compare. "Two points for the lions, then!" Tiara said enthusiastically.

The incantation is Vera Verto and the wand movement is three sharp taps on the animal

hpluvr037 06-10-2015 01:52 PM

Definitely just saw Zoe's green and thought Slytherin. *headdesk*

Atreyu and Paton stepped up to roll for Gryffindor, having to decide between themselves, while Ashcroft was the lone choice for Slytherin. Atreyu's roll was left quite far from the Jack Stone, leaving Ashcroft confident. But her roll, coming in at high speed, hit the red stone; both ricocheted out of play. "How unusual. I suppose no points for that roll," she said, a bit confused at how that had just happened. "At the end of round three, the lions lead it by a score of 7 points to 2."

Advisor's note: As stated in the rules, the SS archives should be used over the HP Wiki or similar sources. Multiple lessons refer to the spell as 'Fera Verto' (and the HP Wiki states 'Vera Verto' is very likely a typo). Therefore there is no score for this question.
